Rorshok's weekly ten-minute update of stuff happening in Georgia. This week, six Georgian citizens were evacuated from Afghanistan, COVID-19 cases continue to rise, with over 6.000 new cases being reported each day. Mask mandates, social distancing and other COVID precautions are in effect across the country and efforts to increase vaccination numbers have ramped up. Education officials are busily preparing for the start of school, requiring teachers and staff to have at least one shot before the start of school. So far, the numbers aren’t making the grade, with only 30 percent of all teachers and staff having had even one shot. These stories and more in this week’s update.
