...and now for another Human Factors Minute!
HFES has developed a technical standard in conjunction with the American National Standards Institute:
In November 2007, the American National Standards Institute approved ANSI/HFES 100-2007, Human Factors Engineering of Computer Workstations as an American National Standard.
The ANSI/HFES 100-2007 Human Factors Engineering of Computer Workstations provides specific guidance for the design and installation of computer workstations for a wide variety of users, including displays, input devices, postures (seated, reclined, and standing), illuminance, and furniture.
The integration chapter offers guidance regarding how individual elements that are ergonomically well designed can be integrated into a workplace system that is also ergonomically appropriate.
