When Gary Mills came back to York City in 2016 he needed players to represent his passion and leadership on the pitch. Sean Newton epitomised everything the manager needed. Having followed him from Wrexham, Sean soon won supporters over with his performances and quality set pieces. Although York City were relegated to the Conference North Sean's association with the football club extended to six years including three clubman of year awards and man of the match in the FA Trophy win in 2017. Sean's time at Bootham Crescent wasn't all plain sailing with rumoured fall outs and he often divided opinions with supporters but here he speaks about his version of events and love for York City Football Club.
