Speaker:

hey everybody.

2

:

Welcome back to another edition

of the Daily Bible Podcast.

3

:

Hello again.

4

:

It's Thursday.

5

:

Yeah, it's Thursday.

6

:

And what do we got coming up this weekend?

7

:

Just, we've got church again this weekend.

8

:

Father's Day is coming up in

a, in about a week and a half.

9

:

So if you've got a dad out

there be tracking that.

10

:

I think they all do.

11

:

It's June.

12

:

Yeah.

13

:

Not all of them are living.

14

:

That's true.

15

:

But I think we all have one.

16

:

Yeah.

17

:

Or not all are reconciled with their dad.

18

:

That's true.

19

:

Yeah.

20

:

There's.

21

:

Broken relationships out there and stuff.

22

:

We do have men's Bible study,

speaking of dads that is coming up.

23

:

Men's Bible study is a Saturday

and we have one Mark Kogan,

24

:

who will be teaching us.

25

:

I can't wait for him to

Mark Hogan, teach On.

26

:

I can't tell you what he's teaching

on 'cause I don't have it in front

27

:

of me, but I know he is teaching

and I'm expecting it to be awesome.

28

:

I think he's teaching

on drunkenness, right?

29

:

Isn't that one of them?

30

:

Yeah, probably.

31

:

Yeah.

32

:

Yeah.

33

:

We selected him very carefully for that.

34

:

We thought, you know what, there's

anyone who has the experience,

35

:

although, man, what happens?

36

:

He said, even if Julia has the baby.

37

:

He's gonna be there if she's

having the baby while he's

38

:

preaching, I might relieve him.

39

:

I've honestly thought Skin in your pocket.

40

:

No, I would just show up and start

preaching just on the subject.

41

:

Extemporaneous man.

42

:

Extemporaneous.

43

:

I think.

44

:

Wouldn't that be so much fun?

45

:

Because you would never do it on purpose,

but if the opportunity arose and let's

46

:

say I'm scheduled to preach and I go

down and you just have to jump in.

47

:

Yeah, I guess you could take one of

your old sermons and dust it off,

48

:

but I think you might have more fun

just saying, okay, what's this text?

49

:

Okay, I could preach this.

50

:

Lemme just find a couple

things to do with this maybe.

51

:

Yeah.

52

:

I don't know, man, that'd be a

tight spot to be in for sure.

53

:

Yeah.

54

:

Let's see.

55

:

Maybe this Saturday, maybe you

and I might be in that role.

56

:

Maybe.

57

:

We'll, I'll just jump in there.

58

:

Let's talk about these three things here.

59

:

See, and I guess, yeah, I don't know.

60

:

I enjoy the interactive extemporaneous,

like I enjoy q and as and not knowing

61

:

ahead of time what the questions are

gonna be like that, that, that's fun to,

62

:

to think through things on the fly and

be like, okay, the Bible has answers.

63

:

Let's go to the word and let's

think how the strings all

64

:

connect and things like that.

65

:

But yeah, preaching would be difficult.

66

:

It would be more devotional.

67

:

I think you just open your Bible

and start talking through it.

68

:

Yeah.

69

:

What does this mean?

70

:

Or where we see examples does, yeah.

71

:

For this book, the Bible, it

tells you, so there you go.

72

:

There's your sermon.

73

:

Sun Security have your outline.

74

:

Could be a song too.

75

:

It sounds like at the

beginning of a good song.

76

:

It sounds like it.

77

:

Not a drunker, not

violent, not quarrelsome.

78

:

Not greedy.

79

:

There we go.

80

:

That's a lot.

81

:

That's what he's talking about.

82

:

Yeah.

83

:

And then are we meeting in June?

84

:

We are meeting in, or that is June, July.

85

:

July is you, me?

86

:

You knew that, right?

87

:

Yes.

88

:

I do manage his own household.

89

:

Okay.

90

:

Gotta make sure my kids are

in order between now and then.

91

:

That's right.

92

:

Better hope that Josh doesn't

set the building on fire.

93

:

Annie's the one you really need

to pay attention to though.

94

:

She's the firecracker.

95

:

She's the, because she's

the one who's silent.

96

:

She's in the background.

97

:

Not ostentatious, not out there, but.

98

:

Secretly I could imagine her

setting the building on fire.

99

:

She's gonna listen to this and

be like, dad, how did he know?

100

:

Yeah.

101

:

Anyways hey, we've got the Rangers

game coming up next Friday too,

102

:

so next that, that's right.

103

:

I just saw Rangers game.

104

:

Hopefully it's a lot more exciting.

105

:

They've been playing better since

the one that you went to go see.

106

:

I doubt it, man.

107

:

No, they have, I was.

108

:

Shocked.

109

:

Appalled.

110

:

I'm glad we went.

111

:

Flabbergasted.

112

:

Flabbergasted.

113

:

Oh, so we were in seats.

114

:

Get this.

115

:

Did you know you were in seats?

116

:

I didn't finish the sentence, man.

117

:

That is bougie.

118

:

I can believe you paid for seats.

119

:

The, I put a parenthetical there that

you should have picked up on you.

120

:

We were in seats.

121

:

I didn't finish the sentence.

122

:

We were in seats.

123

:

Continue that I did not realize.

124

:

Could not see the screen.

125

:

Why would you even sell those?

126

:

Because the screen, isn't it's not

360, like it doesn't wrap around the

127

:

whole ballpark, so you No, but you

should still be able to see the screen.

128

:

I would argue the screen is so important

to the experience of the game that

129

:

if you can't see it, they should make

it abundantly clear on the ticket.

130

:

You can't see the screen with

the seat, so were you Right.

131

:

Field like.

132

:

I don't know what seats we're in.

133

:

Huh?

134

:

Let me think here.

135

:

So there's the, yeah, I guess

we were right field far, so as,

136

:

almost as high as you could go.

137

:

Okay.

138

:

Like three seats from the top.

139

:

Yep.

140

:

It was section 3 24 25,

somewhere in that region.

141

:

And so you could see the very bottom

most part of the screen, but that's it.

142

:

Yeah, so I basically

useless and worthless.

143

:

So I was thinking, you know what,

if we ever come back, I gotta make

144

:

sure that I can see the screen.

145

:

'cause that adds, I'm gonna just

say at least 25% more enjoyment

146

:

to the game when you could see it.

147

:

You'll be able to see

the screen on Friday.

148

:

So you will be back and you're

gonna be able to see the screen.

149

:

I hope not this Friday, but next Friday.

150

:

Did you check it?

151

:

I, based on that, I think we got the same

tickets we got last year, which are okay.

152

:

Those are good seats.

153

:

My home plate.

154

:

Yeah they were decent seats at least.

155

:

Yeah, I felt, man, I was disappointed.

156

:

So a, after about the fifth inning.

157

:

We scooched on down to seats

where you could see them.

158

:

Yeah.

159

:

And it felt a little guilty

'cause I didn't pay for

160

:

those seats, but I did move.

161

:

Yeah.

162

:

If there was nobody in them okay.

163

:

What's the rule on that?

164

:

I don't know.

165

:

I struggle with that.

166

:

Somebody who shows up to a ball game

in the fifth inning yeah, maybe.

167

:

Maybe you got held up.

168

:

Maybe you got in an accident.

169

:

Maybe you got pulled over.

170

:

Maybe something happened.

171

:

But by and large, like the people

that walk in that and they're

172

:

like, oh, we're here to watch

the rest of the baseball game.

173

:

And they're like, sipping on

their cocktails and stuff.

174

:

I like, get outta here.

175

:

You're not even a fan.

176

:

Go away.

177

:

Yeah.

178

:

There's some, there are some serious fans

in our section, which I was surprised by.

179

:

'cause they're the nosebleeds.

180

:

Totally.

181

:

But that's the fans.

182

:

Yeah.

183

:

Those are where the real fans hang out.

184

:

Is that right?

185

:

Yeah, because who else is going

to the boujee people aren't gonna

186

:

go pay money to go sit up there.

187

:

The people that care about the game

are going wanna go see the game.

188

:

They're not gonna care whether or

not if you're willing to sit up

189

:

there, you care about the product.

190

:

Maybe or you're a family that's looking

to, for something to do during the

191

:

vacation or your family or, yeah.

192

:

Yeah.

193

:

So I was the latter.

194

:

Not the former.

195

:

You're the family.

196

:

No, you're a diehard fan.

197

:

I know that.

198

:

The, yeah.

199

:

Below the surface.

200

:

Hey, speaking of, here's a

connection to June, it is in

201

:

our world's Eyes pride month.

202

:

And the Texas Rangers remain the only

MLB club not to have a pride night.

203

:

I heard that.

204

:

Yeah.

205

:

That made me proud of them.

206

:

Ironically.

207

:

In fact, even so Megan Basham, I don't

know if you guys follow Megan Basham.

208

:

She's a writer for The Wire and

daily Wire, and she's featured

209

:

prominently in other areas.

210

:

She tweeted out recently.

211

:

She pointed that out and she said,

I'm not even a baseball fan, but

212

:

I'm buying a bunch of Ranger swag.

213

:

I'm gonna start cheering for them because

they don't have a pro pride night.

214

:

Wow.

215

:

So there you go.

216

:

Can't say, I agree with everything

Megan says, but I do appreciate that.

217

:

Yeah.

218

:

Yeah.

219

:

That's fair.

220

:

That's fair.

221

:

Alright, let's jump into

the reading for the day.

222

:

Seven, eight, and nine.

223

:

Alright, chapter seven, we have more

on the subject of sexual immorality.

224

:

Pastor Rod, what should that say to us?

225

:

That chapter five, half of

chapter six and all chapter

226

:

seven, all deal with this subject.

227

:

I think maybe it has something

to do with following Jesus.

228

:

Something to do with

following Jesus In what sense?

229

:

It's good.

230

:

You should do the thing.

231

:

Yeah, no, I just think it's, this is,

there's, Ecclesiastes is written by

232

:

the same author, by King Solomon here.

233

:

He said there's nothing new under the sun.

234

:

And I think this particular area of

sin has been a pitfall for mankind.

235

:

From the very beginning and.

236

:

It remains that, and I think in Solomon's

writing a book on Wise Living to his son.

237

:

Now, granted, maybe it's in here

as well because Solomon, this was

238

:

a particular pitfall for Solomon.

239

:

He struggled specifically

with this area of his life.

240

:

And yet he's writing this book

under the Spirit's guidance and

241

:

inspiration to his son, and he's

spending a lot of time focused on hate.

242

:

Focus on being pure.

243

:

You wanna live wise, live pure,

and I think there's something

244

:

for us to take away from that.

245

:

I, I don't know that there's a lot for

us to hash back out in chapter seven

246

:

that we are haven't already covered.

247

:

But this is a, another chapter that

it's putting the sin front and center

248

:

and saying, Hey, pay attention.

249

:

Be careful.

250

:

He does it in a, the form of a parable

in verses 25 through 23 focusing

251

:

in on the seductive dangers of.

252

:

This particular sin and his conclusion

is that we should flee from this sin.

253

:

But this is, again, a chapter that

is, is worth our time to read as they

254

:

all are, and it calls us again to a

danger that is, in particular it's a

255

:

grave threat as we talked about even

yesterday, that it can become ensnaring.

256

:

It can become enslaving

if it's left unchecked.

257

:

Yeah.

258

:

I love chapter seven because

there's so much here.

259

:

There's just it's dripping

with practical advice.

260

:

So looking at the first five verses, one

of the things that you could be guilty

261

:

of as a Christian is saying, yeah,

that's the right thing without having

262

:

the right spirit and response to it.

263

:

And so he says to his son,

dude, don't just hear my words.

264

:

Keep them, keep my commandment and live.

265

:

Bind them.

266

:

Write them, say to wisdom, you're

my sister, that this is the.

267

:

This is the challenge

that all Christians face.

268

:

We know the right thing to do.

269

:

If we're biblical Christians, we have

the Bible, we know what it says, and

270

:

yet whether we do it is entirely other.

271

:

That's a different question and a

different calculation altogether.

272

:

Knowing the right thing and doing

the right thing are different

273

:

things, and that's why Solomon

starts with this Dude, listen up.

274

:

Don't just hear what I'm saying.

275

:

Make sure that it's part of who you are.

276

:

Make sure that you believe it, that

you buy it, and that you do what it

277

:

says because you can give all the

lip service you want, but actually

278

:

doing it's a whole different ballgame.

279

:

And then he says.

280

:

Don't be guilty of the young

man who is simple-minded.

281

:

Don't be a young woman

who's just flitting.

282

:

Flitter.

283

:

Huh.

284

:

Frittering, flitting, dancing about

whatever word you want to use.

285

:

Twittering, Twittering,

X-ing, Facebooking about.

286

:

And he said, I perceived among the simple

and the youth, a young man lacking sense.

287

:

A young person who just doesn't get it.

288

:

And how do you know they don't get it?

289

:

Because they're at the wrong

place at the wrong time.

290

:

They're passing along the street corner

near her street, taking the road in the

291

:

twilight in the evening, so they should

know better, and yet they seem not to.

292

:

And so this could be equally true for us.

293

:

We're at the wrong

place at the wrong time.

294

:

There are certain places that you should

not go because it's fraught with danger.

295

:

There are certain.

296

:

Places and times that you should not be

out because you're gonna put yourself in

297

:

a situation where you're gonna be among

others who don't have good intentions.

298

:

Have you heard your parents say, did

your parents ever tell you nothing good

299

:

happens after 10:00 PM I've heard the

quote, the word people say that, right?

300

:

That's all.

301

:

Parents say some variation of that

because it's true by and large the

302

:

kind of people that you're gonna

be around after a certain hour.

303

:

It's just not helpful.

304

:

People.

305

:

Yeah, it's not a helpful place to be in.

306

:

There's certain drivers on

the road at that time, and

307

:

so the writer here, Solomon.

308

:

It's telling a sun, sun, listen close.

309

:

Don't go to the wrong place.

310

:

Don't be there at the wrong time because

you're gonna find the very thing that

311

:

your sinful heart could probably crave,

which is the kind of person who's

312

:

gonna lead you in the wrong direction.

313

:

So again this psalm rather, this

proverb is dripping with wisdom, which

314

:

is why it's in the wisdom literature.

315

:

Squeeze it for Ellsworth.

316

:

There's a, there's more than

what I just noticed here.

317

:

There's a lot more.

318

:

So have fun in that one.

319

:

Yeah.

320

:

And.

321

:

I think the other appropriate

response to this is the concept

322

:

of taking heed lest we fall.

323

:

If this is something that you're

thinking, I would never, or I could

324

:

never, or I never have, or this is not

an issue for me, I think it's still, I

325

:

imperative that we in, you say, okay,

how can I make sure that I continue

326

:

to guard my way and guard my path?

327

:

Because in verse 26, it says,

many a victim, she has laid low.

328

:

And so this is not just a bunch

of stupid senseless people

329

:

that are going after this.

330

:

The act is stupid and senseless.

331

:

But if you think that you are

above and beyond this, that this

332

:

could never ever happen to you,

pride comes before the fall.

333

:

And this is a particular area that

the enemy delights to tempt us sin.

334

:

So be careful on that and stay

close to the Lord and far from her

335

:

path if you want to avoid that.

336

:

Nothing good happens after 10.

337

:

Is that why we don't have

lock-ins for the youth?

338

:

That's right.

339

:

Alright.

340

:

That's the only reason why.

341

:

There you go.

342

:

Okay.

343

:

Otherwise we would, otherwise, yeah.

344

:

Although maybe Lewis should have lock-ins,

I think we should start doing them again.

345

:

For sure.

346

:

Yeah, definitely.

347

:

Sounds good.

348

:

Alright.

349

:

Chapter eight then.

350

:

Chapter eight, the blessings of

wisdom versus one through 11.

351

:

We've got wisdom's loud invitation,

and I love this because.

352

:

Wisdom is not hidden.

353

:

The wisdom of God is not concealed.

354

:

And this is hard because

it is and it's not right.

355

:

It is in the sense that second

Corinthians chapter four, it tells us

356

:

that the God of this world has blinded

the eyes of the lost to keep them from

357

:

seeing essentially the wisdom of God

and understanding the wisdom of God.

358

:

But for those that desire the

wisdom of God, she is available.

359

:

It is available.

360

:

No one is gonna be able to stand at the

great white throne and say, but I never.

361

:

I never could know, I

never could find you.

362

:

You didn't make yourself knowable.

363

:

I guess that's the thing.

364

:

You didn't make yourself knowable.

365

:

And that's Paul's argument in

Romans chapter one, that God has

366

:

displayed his existence in creation.

367

:

And I think there's an

element of that here in.

368

:

Proverbs chapter eight in the beginning

here, that wisdom is not retreating.

369

:

Wisdom is not hiding in the

caves and under the rocks.

370

:

Wisdom is here and she is available for

those that will turn to her invitation.

371

:

And her invitation is there in verses

four, down through 11 that she's

372

:

calling and saying, come to me.

373

:

Learn sense here for I will

speak and my lips will utter

374

:

what is right and what is true.

375

:

And so this is the beginning of chapter

eight, the the invitation of wisdom.

376

:

Verse 13.

377

:

I love, I just wanna point this,

someone one out real quick here.

378

:

Take the take this for what it's worth.

379

:

The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.

380

:

I love how polarizing that is because

it reminds us that to truly love

381

:

the Lord, it does require hatred.

382

:

If we truly love the right and the

good, we will of necessity hate

383

:

evil, anything that threatens that

which is right and good and true.

384

:

And so does hatred have a

place in the Christian life?

385

:

Absolutely.

386

:

It does.

387

:

It's not toward people.

388

:

We don't hate people.

389

:

We do hate evil though.

390

:

And sometimes those lines can get blurry.

391

:

But ultimately our hatred and our

fight, as Paul reminds us, is not

392

:

against flesh and blood, but against

the rulers, the principalities and

393

:

powers of this present darkness.

394

:

And so therefore one of the things

that you should look for as you

395

:

mature in crisis, that you have a

growing hatred of that which is evil.

396

:

That'd be a, that'd be a really good

sign as Proverbs eight 15 point out.

397

:

13.

398

:

Eight 13.

399

:

So the statement, God hates

the sin but not the sinner.

400

:

True or false, it's not entirely accurate.

401

:

God has a love for the world in the

sense that God has made his love

402

:

available in Christ for all those who

will repent and bow the knee to Jesus.

403

:

But as we read in Psalm chapter

five, there is a real sense in

404

:

which God hates those who do evil.

405

:

They are his enemies.

406

:

In fact, that's what Paul

says about all of us.

407

:

While we were still

sinners, Christ died for us.

408

:

We were his enemies.

409

:

We were at enmity with God.

410

:

We opposed God.

411

:

All of us at one time stood in the

cross hairs of his righteous indignation

412

:

because we fought against him.

413

:

We were the rebels, and that's what

makes grace so amazing, is that he

414

:

reaches out to save us, to renew

us, redeem us, and call us his own.

415

:

Even while in the very act of our

hatred, he makes us brand new.

416

:

That's what makes the gospel.

417

:

Yeah.

418

:

This is all part of the first

appeal of wisdom, which is verses

419

:

12 there through 21 verse 17.

420

:

Note, it says, I love those who love me

and those who seek me diligently, find me.

421

:

And that's an encouragement to us as

Christians, that if you wanna grow in

422

:

wisdom, if you want to grow in your

knowledge and understanding of the Lord,

423

:

the fear of the Lord, the hatred of evil.

424

:

You will give yourself

over to that pursuit.

425

:

God's promise here is you will find

wisdom, you will grow in wisdom.

426

:

And that's in, in verse 17.

427

:

I love those who love me.

428

:

Cultivating a love for the wisdom of God

will result in finding reward therein.

429

:

After this, in verses 22 through 31, it

talks about wisdom's role in creation.

430

:

And some have taken this and

tried to make this about Jesus.

431

:

That this is wisdom personifying

Christ or Christ personifying wisdom

432

:

eventually that, that, that's what.

433

:

Is being appealed to here.

434

:

I don't take it as such.

435

:

I don't know.

436

:

PR if you have thoughts on that.

437

:

I see why people make the connection, but

I don't particularly make the connection.

438

:

I think it presses it too far.

439

:

And there's a couple things there

that you're, it is just hard

440

:

to see the connection in that.

441

:

Yeah.

442

:

We would not be the first

to make that connection.

443

:

Lots of people do.

444

:

In fact godly men have written about

this particular section, ultimately

445

:

pointing to Christ as being the agent

by which God created all things.

446

:

So it would be true to say that Jesus is

the Creator, and you could say that the

447

:

Father possessed him at the beginning of

the work and that he was utilizing the

448

:

agency of Christ who do his creative work.

449

:

However, I would agree that applying

Proverbs eight to Jesus is problematic.

450

:

For a lot of reasons, but I don't think

you have to put those two pieces together.

451

:

You can say in a generic sense,

Christ is the wisdom of God.

452

:

And he used that wisdom to create

all things and that God the Father,

453

:

used the agency of Christ to create.

454

:

But to say that Proverbs eight is

a reference to Christ as a harder.

455

:

A harder pill for me to swallow.

456

:

Yeah, I would agree.

457

:

Yeah.

458

:

Chapter eight ends with a

second appeal there from wisdom.

459

:

Again, it says in verse 32.

460

:

Now, as sons listen to me and blessed are

those who keep my ways, hear instruction

461

:

and be wise and do not neglect it.

462

:

So again, a call here in chapter

eight for wisdom's appeal here.

463

:

In chapter nine, then chapter Nine's

unique and it's unique because it

464

:

sets up the call of wisdom against

the Call of Folly or foolishness.

465

:

And the Book of Proverbs, a

lot of it is gonna juxtapose

466

:

wise living and foolish living.

467

:

And here in chapter nine, the first 12

verses deal with the Call of Wisdom.

468

:

And you'll note that it's.

469

:

Similar to what we've read

before, verse four, whoever is

470

:

simple, let him turn in here.

471

:

Leave your simple ways, verse six, and

live and walk in the way of insight.

472

:

Do not reprove a scoffer.

473

:

He's gonna go on and give nuggets of

wisdom there in verses five through

474

:

12 that are part of wisdom's call.

475

:

But then if you jump down to verse.

476

:

Verse 13, the woman folly is allowed.

477

:

She's seductive and knows nothing, and

she calls and notice in verse 16, her

478

:

call is the same as the call of wisdom.

479

:

Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.

480

:

And to him who lacks sense, she

appeals to that one as well.

481

:

So this is sanctification personified.

482

:

This is what it looks like

to walk as a believer.

483

:

You're gonna have the foolish call

every single day, and you're gonna

484

:

call, have the call of wisdom,

the call of God every single day.

485

:

And those calls are gonna.

486

:

Sound both appealing and at times they mo

may both look similar to each other, and

487

:

yet it's gonna be on us to do the extra

level of thought and processing to figure

488

:

out, okay, where does this path lead?

489

:

Where does this path lead?

490

:

Which path is the right path to trod?

491

:

Like we talked about, I think in

yesterday's episode, pondering the

492

:

path of our feet before we make any

decision on where we should go so that

493

:

we can discern, are we listening to

wisdom or are we listening to food?

494

:

Foolishness and folly.

495

:

Amen.

496

:

And then probably the most practical

way that we can discern that is whether

497

:

or not we are making it a point to

let God's word dwell richly within us.

498

:

This is what Colossians chapter

three says, we're to let the

499

:

word of Christ dwell richly.

500

:

And honestly, I don't trust my mind.

501

:

I don't trust myself because wisdom

is offered from so many different.

502

:

Areas, especially today, we

have a glut of information.

503

:

You can get knowledge and even

some wisdom from all the various

504

:

platforms that are afforded us.

505

:

Today, more than any other day in human

history, we can access the most brilliant

506

:

and thoughtful minds that walk the planet.

507

:

Not just in our local vicinity, not just

in our neighborhood, at our churches, we

508

:

can hear almost anybody from anywhere.

509

:

And that's a wonderful tool.

510

:

And yet today, more than ever, wisdom is

needed to discern the good from the bad.

511

:

From the ugly.

512

:

Yeah.

513

:

And so Proverbs nine is a warning for us.

514

:

Wisdom and Folly both call out

and they have a very similar call.

515

:

They both call to the same people Group.

516

:

If you're needing wisdom, you need some

understanding here, come listen to me.

517

:

And today you can do that so easily.

518

:

You can listen to a YouTube sermon,

you could listen to a podcast.

519

:

You can listen to an influencer

on TikTok or Instagram or

520

:

any number of these mediums.

521

:

And your job is to be so full of

the word of God that you can have a

522

:

discernment filter that allows you to

take the good and spit out the bad.

523

:

And there's a lot of bad.

524

:

Yep.

525

:

You must be filled with the word

of God to discern that you need the

526

:

wisdom of God to discern all the

information that's coming your way.

527

:

And now it's needed more than ever.

528

:

Yeah.

529

:

Let's pray towards that end.

530

:

God, we do ask that you would give us the

discernment to be able to sort through all

531

:

of the information that does come our way

on a daily basis, whether it be through

532

:

social media or through the websites that

we visit, or through email inbox, or just

533

:

in conversations with other people who are

also influenced by all of these things.

534

:

God, we want to be discerning in

who we give our ears to and who

535

:

we allow it to fill our minds

and influence our thought life.

536

:

God, we know that so much

of what we take in impacts.

537

:

What comes out of us eventually.

538

:

So we want to take in that which is

good for us, that which is in accordance

539

:

with your wisdom, so that we will be

people who can navigate this world in a

540

:

way that pleases you and exalt Christ.

541

:

So we pray this all in Jesus' name.

542

:

Amen.

543

:

Amen.
