::you get to be here with us on Power Movers.

::Chelsea. Well, thanks for having me. I'm Chelsea. I'm a
6
::health coach, really, specializing in hormones for high performers. So
7
::that could be anyone from a business owner to C
8
::suite executives to working moms. I'm going to help them
9
::heal. Heal hormones so that they can release weight, fix
10
::issues with sleep, maybe hair loss, anxiety, headaches, so they
11
::can operate with higher impact in their business. And I'm
12
::a corporate dropout, so I grinded it out as director
13
::of digital at Adidas and Crocs and Reebok and all
14
::these big footwear brands. Obviously, my body couldn't really keep
15
::up, so I had to heal myself before I could
16
::heal others. So then I went back to school to
17
::learn how to be a practitioner and run functional medicine
18
::lab tests for these people who need help. And ever
19
::since then, I've just always have a long list of
20
::clients, and they keep coming because people need this work
21
::right now. They need this help right now. And so
22
::it's been a fun career swerve, and there's so many
23
::things we can dig into there. Yeah. First of all,
24
::I love asking entrepreneurs that stage you. Yeah. I wouldn't
25
::say you're a corporate dropout. I'd say you are an
26
::entrepreneur. Stepping into your power, was it? Yeah, totally. Yeah.

::But you had that moment, didn't you? You had that
28
::moment where you're like, okay, I'm not really employable anymore.

::Right. Yeah. Tell us about that moment. Well, first off,
30
::I got fired from a job for hustling, for having
31
::a side hustle. So that was my first indicator that
32
::this was really not for me. In the process, I
33
::got scooped up for an even better role. It's like
34
::I got fired from Adidas, and then all of a
35
::sudden, Crocs picked me up as director of their E
36
::Commerce in Australia and Singapore. I got to hire my
37
::own team. That was the first time where I was
38
::like, I love starting businesses. I loved starting and scaling
39
::the Australia E Commerce business. It was fun. It was
40
::entrepreneurial by nature. I got to hire the people. I
41
::got to be really scrappy. But whenever it came down
42
::to more mature markets where I was trying to hit
43
::these crazy targets and having to play by the rules,
44
::I realized that it was not for me. That's where
45
::I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I
46
::Just didn't know what form it would take. And I
47
::fell into health coaching. It just happened when I dealt
48
::with my own issues and I knew that I had
49
::to take this full time. Now, if you don't mind,

::dig into your own issues. Right. Because that's powerful. When
51
::entrepreneurs see a problem in the world, right. This is
52
::what we do. We see a problem in the world
53
::and from that problem we think, okay, we can fix
54
::this. And we go out and we try and help
55
::people fix it. Right. And we give our passion, we
56
::give everything to this role in helping this problem. There's
57
::all the challenges along that journey. Yeah. So go back
58
::to your problems if you don't mind sharing. And how
59
::do you get to be so interested in health coaching?

::I ran into a number of different issues that I
61
::think most women and men in very high performing, high
62
::stress roles can resonate with. And at first it started
63
::with trouble sleeping. I was only sleeping six hours a
64
::night and I woke up feeling like I was on
65
::death's door. Really hard to fall asleep. So for years
66
::I had to smoke weed to fall asleep. And I
67
::wasn't really a druggie, but it's the only thing that
68
::would calm me down because I was on meetings till
69
::8pm and I was on my laptop and I really
70
::had that kind of adrenal fatigue where I was very
71
::wired at night, but just dragging through the day. I
72
::was irritable, I was on edge, getting headaches, a little
73
::bit puffy around the middle. I was a college athlete,
74
::so I didn't have a problem exercising, but I still
75
::didn't look the way I wanted to for how much
76
::work I was putting in. I did CrossFit and boxing
77
::and I was a fitness instructor. I didn't look the
78
::way I thought I should look considering how much work
79
::I was doing and skin issues. It was a lot
80
::of things. Women in high performing roles in corporate experience.

::For a lot of my clients, it's like they might
82
::be trying to have a baby and they can't get
83
::pregnant and it's unknown fertility or they're losing their hair.

::They just have a lot of anxiety and think that
85
::it's just normal. They're like, this is just a normal
86
::part of being over 35 or getting older. Symptoms are
87
::not normal. They're a sign that your body has too
88
::much of something and not enough of something else. There's
89
::a type of people who go to a doctor and

::expect the doctor to be the authority and they get
91
::on a medication or OIC or a sleeping pill. But
92
::I work with the people who are like, either that

::didn't work for me or that's not the approach that
94
::I want. I want to fix this at the root.

::So you get into this entrepreneurial journey. What were the

::first couple of months like? What was the first year
97
::like? First year was I was still in corporate. I
98
::started dabbling, seeing some clients. I started working with a

::business coach who helped me scale and I had too

::many clients. I launched a group program, put them all

::in a group and it turned out that people were
102
::getting better results in the group than they were one
103
::on one. I raised my prices so people felt more
104
::attached to the process. And so now it's a high
105
::ticket program where people are getting results. The first year

::was hard. You go from being the expert in your
107
::craft after 10 years in corporate to like not knowing
108
::where your butthole is in entrepreneurship and you're like trying
109
::to pull it all together and it's. You don't feel
110
::competent. But I think everyone has that experience so it's

::at least good to know that that's normal. But it

::was really tough. It was late nights making my website

::and trying to like figure out how to do an
114
::Instagram reel. But the growth happens so fast that I
115
::look back at the person I was then and I'm
116
::like, wow. Just a lot has happened in a very
117
::short amount of time. When you first become an entrepreneur,

::you wear all the hats. You don't realize how much
119
::there is to do. You're wearing the owner hat, the
120
::marketing hat, and sales had the operations had to deliver

::it. Then you get to the point of, do I
122
::hire someone? Have you got any staff at this stage?

::I have an assistant. My first problems were I hired
124
::my friend or somebody I liked. They came on board

::and they were in that business world. They're totally different

::from in the private world. Right? Yeah. So it's also

::scary, like not having the capital to hire the kind

::of people that you want to hire to. It's tough,

::but I know I'll get there eventually. So you go

::through this entire process and you build out and now

::you're okay. Now that's what a great problem to have

::too many clients coming in. Right? That's an awesome problem.

::It's a great problem. It's. I'm never going to be

::short of work, that's for sure. And, but also then

::it really shifts the focus having a business coach. Do

::you still have the coach? Yes. Yeah. It's a game

::changer, right? You're so lucky that you got that early

::stages. Because it took me 20 years to actually be

::coachable. Yeah. This idea that somebody else has done this

::before and they can help me with that. Right. And

::they can shortcut. What was that journey like? I mean,

::you have to skip the line. I think a lot

::of people are scared to invest. I need to invest

::in skipping the line. I don't have time. Like, I'm

::managing the $60 million business in corporate. I want to

::be able to quit my job, and I can't do

::that if I'm tinkering around on Instagram. I think a
148
::lot of people are scared by coaching investments, five figure
149
::investments. But I'm like, how much did you pay for
150
::college mba you're not using. These are literally people like
151
::yourself who are helping people launch and make monetizable skill

::sets for the rest of their life. Like, why would

::you not invest in that? And so I think it's
154
::just finding the right coach for you. There's different coaches
155
::for different seasons of your life. But I'm such a

::believer in coaching. I don't know how anyone could do

::this without a coach, frankly. I think it's a requirement

::if you want a certain level of success. The difference

::between me and people who are doing the same as
160
::me, but making one fifth of the revenue at the

::most, is that I invested in a mentor. I invested
162
::early, and I've invested a lot. And to be fair,

::that's exactly what you're doing in terms of the health
164
::piece, Right? Yeah. People are investing with you because they've
165
::got to a point where they're in total pain and
166
::they don't know how to go forward. Yeah. You've been
167
::there. You've seen that. You've done that. You proved a
168
::system that works. Now let's dig into this healthy conversation.

::So partially what I do is I teach people AI

::because the biggest problem I have, people come to me

::with is I don't have the time. Yeah. And so

::that's AI Because I need to get them out of
173
::the timepiece first and say, right now you have some
174
::time. And then I only work with them. If they

::work on themselves, I help them with breath work and
176
::cold exposure, any other tools that'll give them more energy.

::Quite often I'll put them in touch with somebody like

::you and say, right, okay, you gotta. Yeah, there's something

::else going on here. And get go and work out

::what it is. One of the guys I work with

::is a biohacker, a functional medicine doctor, a gp, and

::he's a super crazy mad scientist. He's such an interesting

::guy and he's turned me on to Peptides. Peptides? You

::looking at Peptides yet? Yeah. It's so early, but I'm

::seeing some pretty crazy results with people. I'm all in

::on Peptides. Loving it. It's just so cool. What's your

::regimen right now? Let me get my scroll. I

::dive into things with both feet, right? Yeah. It's been

::a blessing and a pain both sides. So yeah, I'm

::like, okay, all in. Go and try it all because

::to invest in yourself is the best investment you can

::make, right? It starts with your health, right? Yeah. One

::of the things I teach my business is business owners

::and even the teams is breath work. It's so fundamentally

::simple once you know it. But I was 48 years,

::49 years old before I learned how to breathe and

::now I do it every day. What are the things

::that are going to resonate with you? What are the

::things that you need? Having the outside of you on

::that is so important. The wellness piece for me is
201
::fundamental in the entrepreneurial journey. And in terms of what

::you're doing, if you're going to go and try and
203
::up your game at work, it's got to be a

::massive game changer. It's life changing for most clients when
205
::you change your operating system from a mindset perspective, but
206
::also giving your body the materials it needs to succeed.

::And that could be what you're putting in it, how
208
::you're resting, making rest part of your strategy. Some of
209
::this stuff is very simple. But what I prioritize for
210
::one client is gonna be totally different than what I
211
::prioritize for another client. Because the way I think about
212
::myself is I'm not a health coach who's like, did
213
::you have your water today? Like, that's not the kind
214
::of health coach I am. I'm a strategist. I'm like,

::okay, you're a busy exec, you own a business, you
216
::just got a co founder for your startup, you have
217
::two kids at home and you're 15 pounds overweight. You've
218
::been going to the gym, it's not working, you're not
219
::sleeping and you're getting headaches every week. You get a
220
::migraine every week. I'm not going to tell her to
221
::go do workouts. I'm not going to tell her to
222
::go. You know what I mean? Like, all of this
223
::blanket advice that I'm not going to tell her to
224
::take creatine, which is what she's going to see on
225
::her Instagram when all these menopausal things are coming at
226
::her and telling her she needs to do this dumb
227
::stuff. I'm going to look at those boulders that we
228
::need to implement for her that are going to help
229
::her release the weight the fastest. When you address the
230
::hormones first, everything else works better if you're not looking
231
::at your hormones. For men and women, we have to
232
::start there and then back into the protocols because it
233
::makes life and business and parenting easier when your
234
::body is actually operating as it should. 100% agree. And

::I'll tell you a quick story on my sleeping. For
236
::15 years, I slept an hour and a half a
237
::night. Oh. Oh, my God. Yeah. And it wouldn't be
238
::an hour and a half every night. It'll be an
239
::hour and a half, two and a half hours, no
240
::sleep. An hour and a half. Oh, my God. Yeah.

::I power through it. I'd smoke weed to kind of
242
::get up in the morning, have a joint and carry
243
::on and try and bring myself down just a little
244
::bit. I had to find my own protocol to get
245
::me there, and now I'm getting a good eight hours
246
::every night, and it's good sleep and just early game
247
::changing. And it's taken me a long time to get
248
::there. So if I had the opportunity to shortcut that
249
::with somebody like you, that would have been insane. So

::talk a little bit more about this hormone piece because
251
::I think that's quite an interesting differentiator. Yeah. An interesting
252
::stat that I found is 4 in 5 women have
253
::a hormonal imbalance in the US and 10% of men
254
::have one. For men, it typically presents as low testosterone,
255
::high cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone. Testosterone is a
256
::sex hormone, but they operate in an inverse relationship where
257
::when stress is high, when cortisol is high, it's gonna
258
::knock down your testosterone and it's gonna affect your estrogen
259
::and progesterone levels if you're a woman. We have to
260
::redefine stress because a lot of people think stress is
261
::just a stressful email from a boss or having to
262
::drop off the kids. I take a holistic approach where

::you can cause stress to your body by eating the
264
::wr. You could cause stress to your body by drinking
265
::caffeine at the wrong time, by not resting, by going
266
::to that gym class at 5am with no carbs in
267
::your system, and on three hours of sleep two days
268
::before your cycle. There's so many different things that impact
269
::our hormones. There's deeper underlying Things that I see with

::clients all the time where there could be a gut
271
::issue, a yeast or bacterial overgrowth growth, there could be
272
::parasites, heavy metals, a lot of stuff that we look

::at from a functional medicine perspective that are going to
274
::throw your hormones completely out of whack. So my job

::is to figure out what is causing the hormonal imbalance

::in the first place. And once we address that, the
277
::sleep fixes itself, the weight comes off, the hair grows
278
::back. Like there's just so many different things, people are

::just lost and there's so much noise in the market

::and you know, wellness has become a multi billion dollar

::industry and people just don't know who to go to

::anymore. They don't know who to trust. They're disillusioned by

::answers from doctors, they're disappointed with results from nature paths.

::They're just not getting the results they came for because

::no one is approaching it from a 360 degree lens.

::Either they're going all body or all mindset or all

::science, no soul. And it's just like you kind of
288
::need it all and addressing it as a full person

::to really start to see results. That resonates so much

::because as I say, AI for time, you know, wellness

::to give you energy and then you can grow and

::scale your business. If you don't have those things, it

::doesn't work. Right. There's no way. Yeah, it doesn't work.

::I've been there and I've managed to grow multi seven

::figure businesses but I almost ended up killing myself because

::of it. So if I found these stress release things

::beforehand, if I'd found these tools, I would have had

::a different outcome. But more importantly for me, I want

::to live the life I love. Right. And I want

::business owners to live the life they love. Yeah. I

::want them to be able to leave the business for

::a month. One of my clients just had a baby.

::I spoke to him yesterday and he said he hasn't
304
::worked for four weeks. He didn't spend any time with

::him, he spent all the time with his new baby.

::And she's life changing. Yeah. Just being able to live

::the life you love, to be able to do the

::things you want to do is so much more powerful.

::Yeah. And your business needs to be able to perform

::without you being in the bottleneck. How do you make

::that happen? What's the process to get there? You would
312
::normally send somebody to get a blood test, to get
313
::a range of a panel. How would you normally work?

::Every single person is so different and so the first

::thing I need to know is, what result are you
316
::trying to produce and what timeline do you want to

::get there? If someone's like, I just want to make
318
::some sustainable changes. I want to lose 50 pounds, but

::I'm okay with doing that over 12 months. That plan

::is going to look a lot different than a C

::suite woman who's like, I have my daughter's wedding in
322
::six weeks. What can you do for me? And I'm

::like, ooh, say no more. I have the protocol for
324
::that. We have to know what their symptoms are. In

::some cases, I don't lab test because I'm like, I
326
::know exactly, exactly what's going on here. I know what
327
::your labs are going to say. We don't need to
328
::lab test. In other cases, it's like, whoa, there's a
329
::lot of symptoms going on here. Like, the sleep is
330
::an issue. There's a lot of bloating. Maybe they're getting
331
::a lot of headaches. A lot of women have hair
332
::loss issues right now. It depends what the symptoms are

::presenting. Sometimes we might run a gut test, a hormone

::test, and I work under a functional medicine doctor who
335
::can order these labs for me. I can get these
336
::labs sent anywhere in the world and get this data
337
::and laser target the protocol specifically for those issues. But

::not everyone needs that level of data. It depends on
339
::their hormones or their personality. A lot of men I

::talk to want to know their testosterone levels. They want
341
::to know their cortisol levels. They want to be able
342
::to use that as a tool to create behavior change

::because they want it to be precise. And for those

::people, lab testing can be really valuable. And other people
345
::are like, I just have crappy habits. Just help me
346
::in figuring out the protocol that's going to help me.

::It depends on the person, but labs can be really
348
::powerful, especially if you've looked down a lot of different

::avenues and it hasn't worked for you. So often when

::I'm doing work with people, it goes down this route

::of, I know I should do this and I know

::I should do that, and I just don't do it.

::Yeah. And without going back to the root of why

::they don't do it, without really digging into the psyche

::of it, but why is that? And really going into

::that piece, I want to lose some weight because my

::partner says I should. That's not. Yeah, that's wrong. Right.

::But how do you get further down? How do you

::dig into what the real problem is? Because if you

::knew the real problem, you probably would have fixed it

::by now the real problem isn't you're not going to

::the gym. The real problem is why am I not

::going to the gym? You go in, you start, we
364
::all know what we should do. I know if I
365
::don't get up and I do my ice bath and
366
::do my breath work and do my meditation and do
367
::my exercise every day I'm going to have a bad
368
::day. And it took me a long time to find

::out how to get myself to do that without relying
370
::on somebody else. Yeah. So sure, you see that quite

::a lot, all the time. And this is why I
372
::do a lot of different personality assessments with clients. And

::there's one in particular that I use to look at
374
::their tendencies around expectation of self as
375
::it relates to other people. Some people who can keep
376
::the commitments they make to themselves, but they can't keep
377
::the commitments to others. There are others who are heavily
378
::reliant on keeping commitments to other people, but they self
379
::abandon. And I work with a lot of that kind
380
::of client where they need an internalized sense of accountability.

::And a lot of the time it could go back

::personality. I hold my coach or my clients who have

::high standard. If I don't think you're ready for the

::work, I don't want you in my program. You're going

::to drag down the whole average. You're not going to

::do the work. I'm going to feel a feeling about

::having you pay for this high ticket program and then

::you're going to get shitty results. Here we are. I

::disqualify a lot of people and I don't want their

::money because that's not fun for me. There's another person

::around the corner that will pay for it. I think

::for a lot of health coaches is building the sales

::process in a way that Helps you look for the

::behavior patterns of who would be successful and who's actually

::ready to make change. Because you know as well as

::I do you're not going to action anything as it

::relates to your health unless you truly want the outcome.

::Like you're giving up smoking because you're having a baby,

::your wife is pregnant, you're having a baby in six

::months. I want to give up smoking because this is

::no longer acceptable. There has to be a strong desire

::on the other side. It's getting clear on the client's

::desire so that the behavior can follow. Also doing the

::little mindset work along the way to help get to

::the root of self sabotage behavior. The biggest thing that

::I see is business owners are doing what

::they do and for everybody else. So they spend all

::of the time here in their mind. I'm building this

::thing, I'm building a seven figure company. I'm building, I'm

::doing that for my wife and for my daughter. I'm

::not married anymore, but that's why I'm doing it. In

::the process of doing that, I stopped loving myself, you

::know, I stopped looking after myself. Slowly but surely, the

::days get longer. Now we get into business for freedom.

::That's one of the big reasons we get into business

::for freedom. And then we end up being lonely and

::had this piece figured out. And then I'm like, whoa,

::I'm about to have a mental breakdown. But I'm just

::so disconnected from myself that I didn't even realize that.

::constant learning, I think. Yeah, massively. I think for most

::of us, that's one of the things we love doing,

::run around with shiny. I call it. I chase the

::get on. What about the things that aren't mainstream? Psilocybin

::medicine? What's your view on all of those? We haven't

::and I think it's a really powerful tool. I've sat

::with plant medicine and psilocybin and have had a good

::experience. I think it expedites a lot of stuff. Maybe

::some people are not ready to see yet. I think

::for some people, it's very beneficial. I've met some people

::who came out of an ayahuasca ceremony being really weird,

::and it's like, maybe that person wasn't ready, really Being

::clear on the intention, having a good shaman. The integration

::piece, I think, is really underserviced. I was pretty unsupported

::after my first ayahuasca experience. It was hard. Like, I

::just remember not really knowing what to do with what

::came up and not knowing how to make sense of

::right now where it's like, you can't eat eggs now

::and like, we're not eating oatmeal. There's so much noise

::out there. Eat real foods. If you can't recreate it

::in your kitchen, don't eat it. And if you are

::going to eat it, eat it in small proportions and

::enjoy your favorite foods. You need them. But just educating
