Although the town remains isolated, the hospital at Gander becomes important to the outlying communities where the only access is via the train. As transatlantic travel becomes more popular & cheaper, the airport traffic increases requiring more workers with their families to move into the airport town increasing the need for more services and security. A new water aerodrome is established alongside the international land based airport establishing the importance of a fledgling new company, using water based smaller aircraft, in the early stages of a startup.
