Shownotes

In this episode, I interview Margaret Parkes, a therapist with many years experience working with people who are atypical neurologically, such as people with ADHD or autism spectrum disorders. We discussed what neurodiversity is, how to identify it and the effects of non-diagnosis. Margaret talked about how neurodifference and depression and anxiety are often correlated and that those who are neurodifferent can be targets of bullying and the narcissist in relationships. She discussed some of the ways neurodiverse people compensate in self-destructive ways, as well as the level of intelligence and business success they sometimes enjoy. In the end, Margaret says it's up to the neurotypical to nurture the neuroatypical because they are the ones who are capable of solving problems the neurotypical can't.
