- The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi to a one-year $6.1M contract. The Montreal Canadiens had seven days to match the offer or let Kotkaniemi go receiving a first and third round pick for the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in compensation.
