Transcripts

Diana:

On this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast, they want you to think this episode is all Masterpiece Theater, but it's.

Liz:

Really just booze, porn, and head shops.

Liz:

Let's do this.

Diana:

Welcome to this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.

Diana:

I'm Diana.

Liz:

I'm Liz.

Diana:

And this week we're going to talk about season nine, episode 18, metafiction.

Diana:

But first, what have you been up to, Liz?

Liz:

I don't know.

Liz:

Not a whole lot.

Liz:

There's.

Liz:

I don't know.

Liz:

I'm just.

Liz:

Haven't.

Liz:

Haven't felt like doing much, and there hasn't been a lot going on.

Liz:

But I caught the new Martha documentary, or I guess, is that a documentary?

Liz:

Yeah, Film show on Netflix.

Liz:

Martha, you're an icon.

Liz:

I highly recommend.

Liz:

I highly recommend it.

Liz:

It's very good.

Liz:

And, yeah, so, I mean, new season of what We do in the Shadows is out, so that's been fucking amazing.

Liz:

Agatha has been really good.

Liz:

Although I've kind of been saving a couple episod so I can binge because they're once.

Liz:

They're once a week, and I hate that.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Last night, I set myself on fire on purpose.

Liz:

That was very successful.

Diana:

I did all successfully.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

I did all of my fire tricks.

Liz:

I learned, you know, so like the transfer from, like, from a lit wick to an unlit wick with my hands.

Liz:

So just lighting fire, you know, just moving fire around with my hands, and I made my jellyfishes and all sorts of things.

Diana:

That sounds fun.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

There wasn't.

Liz:

Finally, like, this is so much easier when there's no wind.

Liz:

I'm like, watch me do all this stuff.

Diana:

Like, I got this.

Liz:

But then they whipped out the fans.

Liz:

Like, do you want to use the fans?

Liz:

I'm like, no.

Liz:

So if you don't know, there are fire fans, they're basically like metal.

Liz:

Like, they're metal fans with five different wicks on each fan, and then people dance around with them.

Liz:

And I have adhd, and I don't think I should have that much fire in my hands.

Liz:

It's just.

Liz:

I don't think it's.

Liz:

That's how I lose my hair.

Liz:

It is, but.

Liz:

But fleshing.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Flushing is, you know, it sounds really dirty, but basically that's, you know, kind of, you know, lighting yourself on fire.

Liz:

It's.

Liz:

That's what it is.

Liz:

You're, you know, dragging lines of the fuel and stuff across you and then lighting that.

Liz:

And then.

Liz:

So I was doing that on my arm with over, like, a Kevlar sleeve and Then using that to, like, light other things and stuff.

Liz:

So neat.

Liz:

I think so.

Diana:

That's cool.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

What about you?

Diana:

I've seen some music, because I know that's the ongoing.

Diana:

No, I got to see Jesus Lizard last week and then sans Mary Jane, and then went and saw Prayers and Kat Von D this week, which was super entertaining.

Diana:

And then also I saw Be Beetlejuice, the Broadway production, again at the.

Diana:

At the Bass hall in Fort Worth.

Diana:

It was really entertaining.

Diana:

So, yeah, I've seen it twice, but with different people in different venue.

Diana:

That's just the way it worked out.

Liz:

Same production.

Liz:

Yes, same production, but different venue.

Diana:

I mean.

Diana:

Yeah, look, it's still the.

Diana:

Yeah, it's the touring show.

Diana:

Still.

Liz:

Same cast.

Diana:

I believe it was at least some of the same cast, from what I could see and tell and what I remember.

Diana:

But.

Diana:

Yeah, and then I say, I'm watching what we do in shadows too.

Diana:

But we also.

Diana:

I found a show I really like called High Potential.

Liz:

Oh, High Potential is really good.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

It's based off of a French show, and I don't.

Liz:

I can't do the French show.

Liz:

Like, they have it.

Liz:

I forget the name of it, but they have.

Liz:

They have.

Liz:

You can watch that one, too, that it's based off of, but.

Liz:

Oh, yeah, I don't really like.

Diana:

Well, anyway, I love her.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

No, that's a cute procedural.

Diana:

It is.

Diana:

Well, like, the first episode, I'm like, it's gonna be cheesy, but I like her so much, I don't care.

Diana:

I'm just blanking on her name.

Diana:

I know her name.

Diana:

Dion.

Diana:

It's always Sunny D from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Diana:

She's married to Rob McElhenney, that girl.

Diana:

Anyways.

Diana:

Oh, that's terrible of me.

Diana:

I really like her, though.

Diana:

She's been in other shows.

Diana:

I think we're really entertaining, and it's a.

Diana:

It's always good to have, like, a procedural.

Liz:

Like, that's not Law and Order svu.

Diana:

Yeah, it's a little bit lighter.

Liz:

Yeah, a little bit.

Liz:

Svu.

Liz:

You're still going.

Diana:

Oh, it is still going.

Liz:

You're still there for me, even though I'm just yelling at.

Liz:

Yelling at it all the time.

Liz:

That's not how things work.

Diana:

Oh, man.

Liz:

Oh, Olivia.

Liz:

And your badass glasses that I can't find.

Liz:

I don't know how many times I've Google image searched her glasses to try and find those frames.

Diana:

Really?

Liz:

Hers and Rowena's.

Liz:

Rowena, what is your name?

Liz:

Ruth Connell.

Liz:

Ruth Connell's current frames that she wore during our.

Liz:

Our last.

Liz:

Our last thing.

Liz:

We're amazing.

Liz:

So good.

Diana:

Did you see she posted in the last week?

Diana:

There's a billboard in, I think in LA about saving the dead boys.

Diana:

Detective.

Liz:

I was like, that was really cool.

Diana:

So anyway.

Liz:

Detectives.

Diana:

But yeah.

Diana:

Oh, man.

Liz:

All right, you ready?

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

All right, so we're gonna talk about metafiction.

Liz:

We don't know what metafiction is.

Liz:

Go read a book.

Liz:

But.

Liz:

So metafiction, and this is according to the Supernatural Wiki, is in a TV show or book or other text occurs when the show or a character demonstrates that they are aware of their own fictional nature.

Liz:

And this was Season 9, Episode 18.

Liz:

,:

Liz:

Wright, who we last saw this season doing episode nine, Holy Terror, and written by Robbie Thompson, who we last saw.

Liz:

He did Firstborn in Slumber Party.

Liz:

But he also has been friends with Richard Spate Jr.

Liz:

For over 20 years.

Liz:

And I just think that's an interesting fact about them.

Liz:

Awesome.

Liz:

If we were.

Liz:

If we ever release video of this one.

Liz:

My bandana is doing the weird pointy antenna thing on top of my head again.

Liz:

So I want you to look at that the entire episode and not.

Liz:

Not die.

Diana:

Thanks.

Diana:

I'm just gonna stare at it.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

All right, so our recap.

Liz:

We start off with Dean's Road to Cirrhosis.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And him being very focused, quote, unquote focused for Dean, I guess.

Diana:

I don't know about his search for Abaddon, Mark of Cain.

Diana:

We've got a hint that we're going to have some Metatron and Gadriel in this episode.

Diana:

And we've got a reference to Castiel and the angel factions returning.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So we open in a room, someone's study, if you will, with books.

Diana:

We've got record.

Diana:

A record playing.

Diana:

We've got a fireplace and Masterpiece Theater.

Diana:

Very.

Diana:

And among these books is Carver Edlin's Supernatural books.

Diana:

And we hear a typewriter noise, and it's Metatron.

Liz:

And he immediately starts monologuing.

Diana:

Yes.

Diana:

And he's breaking the.

Diana:

Appears to be breaking the fourth wall while he's monologuing meta.

Liz:

Because he's Metatron.

Diana:

And he's talking about stories and their plots and characters and text and subtext and who gives it meaning?

Diana:

The writer or the reader?

Diana:

But he's gonna tell a story.

Diana:

But our intro that pops up then, though, is kind of funny.

Diana:

I thought, if you notice, it was the.

Diana:

It's Supernatural, you know, pops up on the screen like it normally does, and then it changes to Metatron Yes.

Liz:

I thought that was cute.

Liz:

And then finally we get the shower scene and Jensen is in the shower.

Liz:

Jensen is in the shower.

Liz:

But it's really, really short.

Diana:

It's a very short scene.

Liz:

It is.

Diana:

He's in the shower, and then he's in the.

Diana:

Then he's looking at himself in the mirror.

Liz:

Admiring his sick brand.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And staring at the mark.

Diana:

Sam is on the phone with Carlos, who's researching demon activity.

Diana:

And Dean comes in and basically he's got a dozen cake.

Diana:

Sam's hearing from Carlos that there's.

Diana:

Or.

Diana:

And is telling Dean there's dozens of cases and people without souls acting out, but no sign of Abaddon.

Diana:

And Dean just looks kind of like out of it.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

The question he.

Liz:

Yeah, yeah.

Liz:

He's like.

Liz:

He is probably with this hangover never ends.

Liz:

He doesn't stop being drunk.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

So.

Liz:

And then Sam asked the question that Dean will never ever truthfully respond to.

Diana:

Which is, Are you okay?

Diana:

Fine.

Diana:

Fine.

Diana:

All right, so we cut to an industrial site.

Liz:

We have an abandoned warehouse.

Diana:

We haven't been to it in a minute, so it's fine.

Diana:

Castiel's there, and he goes through this doorway that has the bloody handprints on it, which is so totally the door you always want to go through.

Liz:

Fair.

Liz:

But could you not?

Diana:

I mean, I don't know.

Diana:

Either way, there's pile of bodies.

Liz:

I mean, I think I would have to.

Diana:

But there's a pile of bodies in this room.

Diana:

And a weird V type symbol on the wall that's kind of like humming and flashing.

Liz:

It's kind of like a neon sign.

Diana:

But it's a S.

Diana:

Got a buzz.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

And then it just stops.

Diana:

And it just looks like it's written in blood, but.

Liz:

And it gets.

Liz:

Go back to regular sigil.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And he said he takes a picture of it with his tiny phone.

Diana:

Yes, with his little tiny phone.

Diana:

And some chick whose eyes been like, busted out.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

It's a real bad.

Diana:

She looks like her face hurts.

Liz:

It does.

Liz:

It's very uncomfortable to watch.

Diana:

It is.

Diana:

She tries to stab him and he gets her to stop and just wants to know who hurt her.

Diana:

And basically, apparently what happened is whatever this symbol is or something happened.

Diana:

It was calling angels.

Diana:

It was calling angels to the space.

Diana:

And they.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

So they get there and it's the work of the new God who made an offer for them to join and fight for Metatron.

Diana:

And those that do can return to heaven.

Diana:

So some angels joined up.

Diana:

So this is basically these.

Diana:

All these Dead bodies are angel bodies.

Diana:

Angel meat suits, I guess.

Liz:

Dead vessels.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And then some joined and so.

Diana:

And some refused.

Diana:

And the ones that were.

Diana:

That refused to join were killed.

Diana:

That's real weird in park.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And then Cass is like, I can't look at this eye anymore either.

Liz:

And so he boops her.

Diana:

He boops her and heals.

Diana:

Thank you.

Liz:

Thanks.

Diana:

Thank you for all of us, Cass.

Diana:

It was very uncomfortable.

Diana:

And then she knows who he is.

Diana:

And she is like, look, I, you know, need to be our new leader to.

Diana:

Not with this crazy.

Diana:

Please.

Diana:

And he's like, no, I'm not going to be your leader, but, you know, I'll make.

Diana:

I'll make Metatron pay.

Liz:

Don't worry.

Diana:

And she's like, no, I want you to be our leader for real.

Diana:

But he's not having it.

Diana:

So Cassiel calls Sam and he's like, look, there's a strange angel here.

Diana:

But we know now, I'm sure it's Gadriel.

Diana:

We know that he's working for Metatron and he has ordered.

Diana:

Obviously he was the one that ordered Gadriel to kill Kevin.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

And Sam wants to beat up Gadriel and find out more.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And so Cas is like, here's a picture of this sigil, by the way.

Diana:

What the fuck is it?

Diana:

And he said he's lost some kind of like an angel siren that draws in angels.

Diana:

I think it's a spell though.

Diana:

And it takes some real weird ingredients, like griffin feathers and bones of a fairy.

Liz:

It's very, very violent spell.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

But.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So Castiel is also in his motel room at this point and wants to know what is honorable about a miniature bar in a hotel room.

Diana:

It says honor bar on it.

Diana:

Does anybody have those anymore?

Diana:

Maybe.

Diana:

Minibar?

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

No.

Diana:

So the.

Liz:

A lot of boutique hotels do.

Liz:

So like the hotel I stayed in, San Diego, the pirate one.

Liz:

That one had.

Liz:

That one had an honor bar.

Diana:

Huh.

Liz:

They also like, there was like a regular, like.

Liz:

So, like they'd be like, these are the drinks that you can have.

Liz:

And then if you want these drinks, we're gonna charge them to your room.

Diana:

Yeah, I mean, I've seen that.

Diana:

I just haven't seen like anything say on our bar in a long time.

Liz:

But no, this is a very old fashioned thing where you're supposed to go to the front and tell them when you check out what you.

Liz:

You bought.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Because you're honorable.

Diana:

Not that it auto charges to your card when you leave anyways, but.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Or the.

Liz:

Just like by the weight moving it like.

Liz:

No, this is an old fashioned kind.

Liz:

But Dean says that everything like he kind of like he lights up at the word bar and.

Liz:

And then Cass is like smiling at the sound of Dean's voice.

Liz:

Oh man.

Liz:

I meant to like have a sound here of like angel wings or like that we could like like just sounds for dusty literature.

Liz:

Like a little harp noise right here.

Diana:

Well, Cass doesn't have his wings right now.

Diana:

He misses them.

Diana:

Because apparently life on the road smells.

Liz:

It does.

Liz:

He's not wrong.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Especially if you're a man.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And somehow it.

Diana:

Sam is like ahead of his time for when this episode aired and is able to do like a reverse image search on the symbol.

Liz:

You could always reverse image search like that.

Diana:

I've never seen it before until recently.

Diana:

Either way, he's.

Diana:

He's.

Diana:

He's pretty advanced on his technological searches and had finds it in a police record of a multiple homicide crime scene in for that just happened.

Liz:

That is like that.

Liz:

That would not be there.

Liz:

But he can't backdoor into all the cops things and all the cool.

Liz:

You could maybe though search through a bunch of newspapers and find out that there were a bunch of crimes where this happened in Utah.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So a bunch of industrial air.

Diana:

All industrial sites in Utah and moving north.

Diana:

Oh, so they agree that they're gonna divide and conquer.

Diana:

Cass is going to go to the.

Diana:

What.

Diana:

What could be the next site.

Diana:

And then Sam and Dean are going to the other possible next site and they'll meet in the middle.

Diana:

And we see that Cassiel has a pretty decent murder wall in his motel room.

Liz:

Him.

Liz:

He does his murder board is.

Liz:

Is pretty good.

Diana:

Yeah, he's done pretty well.

Diana:

And we get a light flicker though.

Diana:

So you worry about what's coming next.

Diana:

And then we cut back to Dean in the bunker and he's like, wait, we had a case in Ogden about a witch and this kid helped us.

Diana:

That's cool because they're gonna find.

Diana:

They want to find the guy that helped them before.

Liz:

And so apparently that is in a head shop because that is where Gadriel pulls up.

Liz:

And I never thought about the stoners in Utah, but I guess there's like a lot of mountains and things there.

Liz:

So there has to be like some stoners.

Liz:

I just.

Liz:

It can't all be Mormons.

Diana:

No.

Diana:

There's a lot of hiking and mountainy stuff.

Diana:

So that does track.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So this guy pulls in and Gadriel pulls in and we've got our arc guy that works at the head shop and he's Trying that, like, by, like, Gabriel's trying to buy griffin feathers.

Diana:

And the clerk's like, oh, this isn't Diagon Alley.

Diana:

But Gadriel's like, I saw your hunter signs on the door.

Diana:

So I think you do have those things.

Diana:

And so the clerk goes to get those and also the fairy bones.

Diana:

Doesn't matter what realm.

Diana:

And the clerk laughs and asks what he's hunting.

Liz:

Yeah, and I really think that, you know, he should be checking out the Silk Road here.

Liz:

, the Dark web was bumping in:

Liz:

You could have bought anything.

Liz:

And I really think they should have made a whole dark web for all this, and then they wouldn't have to go to all these hunters head shops.

Liz:

Was like.

Liz:

Do you notice that most of the hunter shops are, like, head shops?

Liz:

Or they are some sort of, like, New Agey thing.

Liz:

But it looks like you all, like, front for selling weed.

Diana:

Yes.

Diana:

Yes.

Diana:

So back at the motel, Castiel's about to leave the room.

Diana:

His lights flicker again.

Diana:

And then all of a sudden, Casa Erotica pops up on the television.

Liz:

It's always a good sign when Casa Erotica shows up.

Diana:

We haven't seen that in a while.

Diana:

And the TV won't turn off, won't change channels that start.

Diana:

The film starts, and we've got a blonde chick, and she goes to answer the door, and it's Gabriel, AKA the Trickster.

Diana:

And he's there, and he needs Castiel's help.

Diana:

He pops into the room because he's not dead.

Diana:

He faked his death.

Liz:

So apparently he faked his own death.

Liz:

But then he gets really cagey about where he was hiding, and then he's like, no, I was hiding in heaven until the angels fell.

Diana:

Sure.

Diana:

And then he's mad at Cass and Dean and Sam for ruining Christmas and that, you know, he just.

Diana:

You know, he met his.

Diana:

Metatron had sent his minions down because.

Diana:

To look for Gabriel because they knew that he had extra juice because he's an archangel.

Diana:

Arch.

Diana:

I can't say it.

Diana:

Archangel.

Diana:

Good Lord.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And he also got hurt in the fall, and he used most of his juice to get back into porn.

Liz:

Double entendre intended.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So what he says is happening is that Metatron is blowing the horn of Gabriel, and so he had to come out of hiding because there's safety in numbers.

Diana:

And that Metatron is using the horn to trap angels, not unite them.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

And Castiel's like, yeah, that's.

Diana:

That's Gadriel and so not meta.

Diana:

Doing it himself.

Diana:

And Gabriel's like, hey, well, that's fine.

Diana:

I need your help.

Diana:

We're gonna get the band back together and do the Kill Metatron tour.

Diana:

I appreciate it.

Liz:

It's pretty funny.

Diana:

So Sam and Dean arrive at their head shop, their friend's head shop.

Diana:

And it's night.

Diana:

Lights are off, doors unlocked.

Diana:

And they go in.

Diana:

They're poking around, and there's a box of feathers spilled all over the floor, which seems like a.

Diana:

To clean up.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

They're just gonna be so hard.

Liz:

They're gonna keep floating around.

Liz:

And you're like, oh, man, it sounds so awful.

Diana:

It does.

Diana:

But Sam opens a door, and our clerk is very, very dead with his eyes burned out, and.

Diana:

And he's hanging out on door hooks.

Diana:

That's just rude.

Liz:

S.

Liz:

Like, what are you just a serial killer now?

Liz:

Like, the.

Liz:

What?

Liz:

Just.

Liz:

And you got your fucking feathers.

Liz:

Why did you have to kill this guy?

Diana:

Well, they make it seem like he doesn't really want to kill people, but then he's sure shit seemed to, like, do some extra damage there.

Diana:

Like, why would you do that?

Liz:

And then to hang him on the door, like, why?

Diana:

Oh, yeah.

Diana:

I like it.

Diana:

So Cass is calling Dean and is trying to leave him a voicemail.

Diana:

But Gabriel grabs the phone, and he's like, I'm the one who died for your sins.

Diana:

Not the cat with beard and sandals.

Diana:

The hot one.

Diana:

And so, apparently, Gabriel and Castiel plan to drive to the bunker.

Diana:

What the fuck is this communication breakdown happening?

Diana:

Because Castiel should just stay where they're at because they've got a plan, and they're both supposed to meet up in Utah.

Diana:

Very confusing.

Liz:

It is.

Liz:

And so Cass wants to know what Gabriel is seeing.

Liz:

And it really doesn't sound like Gabriel's been hiding out because he knows a lot about what's been going on.

Diana:

Yeah, he's been watching the angels fight, then Crowley, and then Abid, as he calls her.

Diana:

But he's like, yeah, most angels aren't like us, though.

Diana:

They can't handle the free will.

Diana:

Free will.

Diana:

They're sheep and drones.

Diana:

And we're different.

Diana:

We're rebels.

Liz:

We're never going to be any good.

Liz:

And Cass just tries to place this all down.

Liz:

He was just like, I'm just a soldier.

Liz:

And Gabriel does point out that he been God more often than God.

Diana:

That's true.

Diana:

He says, please.

Diana:

So he's like, look, we.

Diana:

You know.

Diana:

I know.

Diana:

I know you don't.

Diana:

I don't want to run anymore, Gabriel.

Diana:

Like, I don't want to run anymore.

Diana:

I want to lead.

Diana:

And Cassiel is Like, that's cool.

Diana:

Great.

Diana:

You can lead.

Diana:

I'll.

Diana:

I'll.

Diana:

I'll follow you.

Diana:

So they go to a gas station, and Gabriel's very excited about the junk.

Liz:

Foods selection, the delicious cancer snacks.

Diana:

Yeah, very upsetting.

Diana:

Anyways, and a truck pulls up with a bunch of real, like, I don't know, a bunch of folks in the bed of the truck, which, like, there's nowhere you can do that anymore.

Liz:

So did a truck full of angels just pull it behind them?

Liz:

Yes.

Diana:

Like.

Liz:

Music plays.

Liz:

What.

Liz:

What is happening?

Diana:

Very bizarre.

Diana:

The scene.

Diana:

This.

Diana:

How this kind of starts is, like, not very.

Diana:

Like, I'm kind of confused as a viewer, just so you know.

Diana:

As the scene came open, I'm like, wait, what.

Diana:

What is that?

Diana:

What's happening?

Diana:

But they seem to know that these are bad angels coming for them, I guess.

Diana:

But either way, Gabriel's like, those are his minions.

Diana:

So they lock the door to the gas station.

Diana:

Yeah, I'm sure the clerk that.

Diana:

Whoever works at this gas station, I.

Liz:

Was fine with that.

Liz:

But they didn't seem to be one in there, right?

Liz:

So they just seem to be, like, all by themselves.

Liz:

So we cut from that, and, like, tense music is playing.

Liz:

And we cut to Gadriel in Sam.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So we have, like, a little back and forth where they're both kind of, like, trying to hide, like, evade each other a little bit, like, all secretly.

Diana:

But Sam picks up the phone, is leaving a voicemail for Castiel, right when Gadriel tries to sneak up on him.

Diana:

But it was a trap because Dean drops his lighter and Gabrielle's trapped in a circle of his.

Diana:

Our artisanal holy oil.

Liz:

He is.

Liz:

He's trapped.

Liz:

And Sam is pissed.

Diana:

Big mad.

Diana:

Big mad.

Diana:

And so.

Diana:

But also, like, if you think about it, like, I don't blame him.

Diana:

Like, what?

Diana:

Oh, you.

Diana:

You made me murder my friend, and you took over my body.

Diana:

And you totally, like, lied to my brother to let him let me do that.

Diana:

Like, it's pretty.

Liz:

Yeah, yeah, I know.

Liz:

You should be mad.

Diana:

And then you, like, left some grace in me.

Diana:

Ew.

Diana:

Violated.

Diana:

Anyways, so Castiel and Gabriel, like, we need a plan.

Diana:

And Gabriel's like, we're off.

Diana:

I'm gonna fight.

Diana:

You know, he's.

Diana:

He's gonna send, you know, Cassiel off.

Diana:

But that's okay.

Diana:

He's gonna, you know, use his extra archangel juice to fight these angels so Castiel can go be the leader that the angels need.

Diana:

Cass is like, no, this is terrible.

Diana:

It's a terrible plan.

Diana:

What if I fail again?

Diana:

He's Like Gabriel's like, you won't.

Diana:

You can't.

Diana:

And they hug.

Diana:

And there's a moment, but then Cassiel looks inside his coat and there had been a rip in his pocket that morning.

Diana:

And there is not a rip now.

Liz:

What in the mind fuck is happening?

Diana:

So he has figured it out already before we, the viewer did.

Diana:

Or at least Diana the viewer did, and asked Gabriel if any of it is real.

Diana:

And as that's happening, the minions get inside and Gabriel's still like, you've got her.

Diana:

Go, Cass.

Diana:

And Castile is like, you're already dead.

Diana:

And he pushes his angel blade into Gabriel, but it just goes through him because he's not really there.

Diana:

Oh, no.

Liz:

It was all I.

Diana:

Sad.

Diana:

So he snaps and the minions disappear.

Diana:

And the rip in the coat was the giveaway.

Liz:

And Gabriel hates continuity ears.

Diana:

I don't blame him.

Diana:

They annoy me too.

Diana:

Yeah, fun fact.

Diana:

You know why on Love Is Blind?

Diana:

They use those golden goblets.

Diana:

Ever seen that?

Diana:

Like on that.

Diana:

It's garbage tv.

Diana:

Anyways, they use these wine glasses that are like brushed gold metal, which is not great.

Liz:

Cancer goblets.

Diana:

Yeah, but.

Diana:

But they look cool.

Diana:

But the part of the reason they use them is for continuity.

Diana:

So you can't tell how much of their drink or what their drink is gone.

Diana:

Pretty smart.

Diana:

Good job, producers.

Diana:

Anyways, there's your fun fact there.

Diana:

So we know now that none of this scenario between Castiel and Gabriel was real.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

But Gabriel's like, but it's all true.

Diana:

You just gotta hear Metatron out.

Diana:

And Castiel just wants to know if Gabriel's really dead.

Diana:

And he wiggles his eyebrows.

Diana:

Snaps.

Diana:

And Cassiel finds himself gagged and tied to a chair in the study where we introed the episode.

Liz:

And Metatron is just there.

Liz:

And he looks so smug.

Liz:

So smug.

Diana:

He wants to know, what do you think makes the story work?

Diana:

So Cassiel's tied up in Metatron's office while Sam and Dean have Gadriel tied up in the.

Diana:

Gadriel?

Diana:

I can't say.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Diana:

I say.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Diana:

I know it's not quite right.

Diana:

My apologies.

Diana:

Gadriel chained up in the industrial building.

Diana:

It's kind of interesting.

Diana:

Parallel.

Diana:

Just saying.

Liz:

Yes.

Liz:

And he is also looking smug.

Liz:

And then.

Liz:

Ah.

Liz:

He says that Sam Winchester's insides reek of shame and weakness.

Diana:

Rude.

Liz:

Prove it's so funny.

Diana:

So Sam hits him in the face.

Diana:

And it's about to just totally whale on him.

Diana:

But Dean stops him.

Diana:

And back in Metatron's Study.

Diana:

He's gonna tell Cass a story, or that was the plan, but he's like, the story failed and that.

Diana:

And he's trying to, like, he makes, you know, a Sherlock Holmes reference.

Diana:

And then Castiel is real annoyed, or he's really annoyed that Castiel doesn't get the reference, so he does something that's like, I don't know.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

So he's really.

Liz:

He's pissed because Cas.

Liz:

Because at this point, Cas has been around for thousands of years and hasn't picked up a fucking book.

Liz:

So he can get any pop culture references.

Liz:

And what he says he's gonna do is gonna be a bit of a retcon.

Liz:

And that stands for retroactive continuity, which is reframing or adding to past events to serve a current plot need.

Liz:

And this is something that comes from comic books, but it's been taken over as a tropic within TV and film, etc.

Liz:

An example in Supernatural would be the revelation of the trickster as Gabriel in season five.

Liz:

That would be a retcon.

Diana:

Oh, interesting.

Diana:

Yeah, I didn't know that term either.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

And so he boops every book, TV, movie, show he's ever consumed into his head.

Liz:

And that sounds like an amazing way to binge things, but also a sad bummer.

Liz:

Yeah, you lose the joy of, like, watching things and seeing it.

Liz:

But I would like to have that Wikipedia in my head.

Diana:

Yeah, I know.

Diana:

I was very torn about, like, that sounds amazing.

Diana:

And I'm like, oh, it sucks.

Diana:

But also, so cool.

Liz:

That is cool.

Liz:

But, you know, this is.

Liz:

So now we have something that was a key part of Castiel's character, that you never got your references.

Liz:

So.

Liz:

But now Cas has all the references and.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And.

Liz:

And Booger says, you know, he's like.

Liz:

So now he tries to explain again how the universe is made up of stories, not atoms.

Diana:

Right.

Liz:

And caskets.

Liz:

That's a quote from Mira Rukeyser.

Liz:

And that's from the poem Speed of Darkness, which is a really good poem.

Liz:

Highly recommend.

Liz:

Everyone go read it.

Liz:

Read up on her, too.

Diana:

But.

Diana:

Well, yeah, so we've got basically Metatron's, like, I.

Diana:

First off, here's the rules of being a right good writer is steal from the best.

Diana:

And every hero needs a villain.

Diana:

So he intentionally set up for Castiel to find Hannah, our angel with the up eye, earlier.

Diana:

And he.

Diana:

He had specifically told Gadriel to let someone live specifically to tell the tale to Cass.

Diana:

And Cassiel's like, but, you know, are you.

Diana:

Are you actually letting People back into heaven.

Diana:

And Metatron won't tell him, but he says the point is that Castiel has to lead the lead angels.

Diana:

That's the point.

Diana:

So what we've figured out is that Metatron is so egotistical and in his own head that he has decided that he is the hero.

Diana:

And Castiel, it has to be his villain.

Diana:

Then.

Diana:

So Metatron has to save the angels and save heaven, but he has to have somebody lead the factions of the angels.

Diana:

They have to be unified and have one leader, which is Castiel.

Liz:

Yep.

Diana:

He's selected his villain.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

Because he's a narcissist.

Diana:

Yes.

Diana:

Yes, he is.

Diana:

But Cass is just not really interested in being a leader still.

Diana:

Either way, Metatron's been reading these Supernatural series, AKA the Winchester Gospels, and then he burns them.

Diana:

But he.

Diana:

Yeah, he's, you know, figured out.

Liz:

Yeah, he figured out through the Gospels that the best way to teach lessons is through the Trickster Slash gateway.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

But he's also confused Castiel because Castiel still thinks that Cass is going to be the hero, and Metatron has to set him straight that.

Diana:

No, no, Metatron's the hero.

Diana:

You're the villain.

Liz:

But that's all from your perspective, right, Cass?

Liz:

So we go from that and back to our abandoned warehouse.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And they want to be able to hack Gadriel, but they can't get a hold of Cas.

Diana:

And they.

Diana:

They're trying to find his location via phone because he's just.

Diana:

He should be there.

Diana:

So Sam is gonna go look for Castiel while.

Diana:

Because he's just too emotionally involved in the Gad Real thing, which seems unfair, because of course he is.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

No, but you should get to be the.

Liz:

Out of him.

Liz:

All right, so.

Liz:

But he leaves.

Liz:

And he leaves Dean the Angel Blade.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And Gadriel's like, oh, so he's gonna be tough.

Diana:

And you're gonna be.

Diana:

So he's like.

Diana:

Cadre was like, oh, he was the bad cop.

Diana:

You're gonna be the good cop.

Diana:

Dean's like, no, no, no.

Liz:

Back up.

Liz:

Back cop.

Diana:

Back up, bad cop.

Diana:

And, yeah.

Diana:

He's like, yeah, I don't.

Diana:

I don't care if you die or talk.

Diana:

I'm just gonna make sure you pay for what you did to Sam and to Kevin.

Liz:

Yikes.

Liz:

That's not good.

Diana:

No, I don't think I would want that.

Diana:

Like, to be on that side of Dean Winchester.

Liz:

No.

Liz:

Not crazy.

Liz:

Mark of Candy and Winchester.

Diana:

Probably not.

Diana:

Probably not.

Diana:

Back in Metatron's study, he's still talking and Talking and talking dick ass.

Diana:

He likes him.

Diana:

That's why I didn't kill you after I stole your grace.

Diana:

You land with a spark.

Diana:

And, you know, I wanted you to live a happily ever after as a human, but, you know, now we're going to follow my script.

Diana:

You got to lead the angels.

Liz:

But Cas points out that doesn't sound like what he just assessed.

Liz:

You just told me that I'm a rebel, so why would a rebel follow your script?

Liz:

Yeah, and Metatron just wants him to lead the dumb, disenfranchised, rebellious angels.

Liz:

Which is the title of my next album.

Diana:

Dumb disenfranchised Rebellious Angels.

Diana:

Cool.

Diana:

It is a good one.

Diana:

And in return, Metatron will give Castiel access to unlimited battery of angel power.

Liz:

Which I think just means, like, he just keeps killing angels to suck their grace out, which is really bad.

Liz:

It's not a.

Liz:

Yeah, it's not a good thing.

Diana:

It's very weird.

Diana:

So Dean is now a torturing Gadriel.

Diana:

That's.

Diana:

It's weird.

Diana:

It's slicing in with the angel blade.

Diana:

It is uncomfortable.

Diana:

And he wants to know about if the talk about getting angels into heaven is.

Diana:

Is true.

Diana:

And he's in that.

Diana:

He's.

Diana:

In the meantime, Gadriel's just talking back.

Diana:

He's talking trash about how Sam wouldn't do anything for Dean.

Diana:

And Dean's like, guess what?

Diana:

I already know this.

Diana:

We already had these talks.

Diana:

You missed it.

Diana:

We had a moment.

Diana:

It's fine.

Diana:

We said.

Liz:

We say that.

Liz:

Sam tells me that twice a season.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And Gadriel just still talking about how Dean's a sad, scared little boy.

Liz:

His daddy, Dean, scared little boy with daddy issues.

Liz:

And we all know this, right?

Liz:

Dean is sad, clingy and needy, and he just keeps pushing his buttons.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And it kind of works in it, but it's kind of not.

Diana:

Because Dean also already knows all this shit too.

Diana:

So he does hit him.

Diana:

And Dean realizes that Gadriel's not scared to die.

Diana:

He is scared to be left alone, tied up to forever, because he's been.

Liz:

Jailed for letting a no probe into the Garden of Eden for a while.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So Dean has now realized that this angel is not scared of death.

Diana:

It is scared of being kept alive and imprisoned.

Liz:

Yeah, he is a valid fear.

Liz:

He's been locked up for eons.

Liz:

Literally.

Diana:

So Sam has found the motel where it says.

Diana:

It says that Castiel's phone is.

Diana:

And so of course he goes in.

Diana:

It's Cass's room.

Diana:

There's.

Diana:

He sees the murder board and the Phone on the bed, which is not ideal.

Diana:

But we get, like.

Diana:

I don't know.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

We start cutting back and forth between.

Liz:

So, yeah, we get Sam looking at the murder board.

Liz:

Then we get Dean giving himself affirmations and watching his face and leaving his.

Diana:

Cell phone in the bathroom.

Liz:

Okay.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And then Metatron pops out, and so now we've got Metatron, and he wants to trade Gadriel for Cass.

Liz:

Say now.

Liz:

God damn it.

Liz:

Okay.

Diana:

Sorry.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Diana:

Gadriel.

Liz:

Gadriel.

Diana:

Gadriel and Cassiel.

Diana:

They want a.

Diana:

He wants a fair trade, and that's it.

Diana:

And he's.

Diana:

Because Metatron is an entity of his word.

Diana:

He might be, but that make him not a dick.

Diana:

And of course, like, in the middle of this, Sam's trying to call Dean.

Diana:

Dean's left his phone in the bathroom.

Diana:

Who does that in a crisis?

Diana:

You keep your phone on you.

Diana:

You're on a mission in a crisis.

Diana:

So annoying.

Diana:

Anyways, but Sam gets back to the industrial site where Dean was beating the.

Diana:

Out of Gadriel.

Diana:

And he finds that Gadriel's chair is empty.

Diana:

And Dean looks real up, sitting against the wall.

Diana:

And basically Gadriel's there.

Diana:

He's laying.

Diana:

He's laying down.

Diana:

He ain't dead, though.

Diana:

But he is very beat.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

But he didn't kill him because he wanted to die.

Diana:

He's just unconscious.

Diana:

Dean just really wanted him to talk, but Sam's like, by the way, we've got a deal.

Diana:

But they want to know where he is so they can trap him.

Diana:

So they have to try for the deal.

Diana:

I do feel like that makes a lot of sense.

Diana:

But also, wouldn't have Metatron have thought of this?

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So, well, clearly he does, because they go to the motel, and Metatron pops in and says that he was just waiting for them to finish setting up his trap.

Diana:

Yeah, they do the.

Diana:

The holy oil.

Diana:

Their artisanal holy oil ring.

Diana:

And Metatron pretends like it's bothering him and just laughs and asks if they have fixings for s'mores.

Diana:

Because apparently the holy oil fire gives a delightful, minty aftertaste, which, in my opinion, would just ruin s'mores.

Liz:

That sounds gross.

Liz:

So then he's a dick.

Liz:

He blows out the circle.

Liz:

He slams them up against the car when they try and pull their blades out.

Liz:

Or a blade out.

Liz:

Yeah, because they just have one angel blade.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

And then he opens the trunk, poofs away their sigils on trunk.

Liz:

How do you.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And poops away the Sigils.

Diana:

And then he's got some business.

Liz:

Women have cast.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And then the business.

Liz:

All the corporate executives from L'Oreal have escaped, and they've taken cats hostage.

Diana:

They just, like, get out of this black.

Diana:

A black, you know, town car, basically.

Diana:

It's not a town car, but basically a black sedan.

Diana:

And they've got casts.

Diana:

Like, here you go.

Diana:

So weird.

Diana:

And it's so weird.

Diana:

And he's like.

Diana:

They're like, why?

Diana:

They ask Metatron.

Diana:

He's like, because I can, and you can't stop me, but I'm gonna enjoy watching you try.

Liz:

And he blips away.

Liz:

Yep.

Diana:

But the trade has been made.

Diana:

And this is daylight.

Diana:

Kind of like evening when this happens.

Diana:

But suddenly, now, our next scene, it's very, very dark at night at the same motel.

Diana:

Weird.

Diana:

And Castiel's like, metatron's playing God.

Diana:

Sam's like, well, he basically is God.

Diana:

And he.

Diana:

Dean's making references to a stairway to heaven or sneaking onto the Death Star to take out the emperor.

Diana:

And weirdly, Castiel understands the references, doesn't get the metaphors, but gets the references because he has all that info now.

Diana:

So Dean and Cass keep asking, are you all right?

Diana:

Are you okay?

Diana:

And he finally notices the mark on Dean's arm.

Liz:

Uh.

Liz:

Oh.

Liz:

What have you done?

Liz:

Damn it, Dean.

Diana:

Damn it, Dean.

Diana:

And Dean's just like, you just.

Diana:

We just gotta find heaven.

Diana:

I've got a night to kill.

Diana:

Because he says Castiel is on the heaven mission and Dean is staying on the Abaddon mission.

Diana:

Right.

Diana:

I mean, yeah.

Diana:

All right.

Diana:

So Gadriel and Metatron are.

Diana:

Are talking.

Diana:

And basically, the way he's saying that, you know, it.

Diana:

The way things are going is because of what Gadriel's done.

Diana:

But now Metatron has to do a rewrite.

Diana:

God made a mistake because God published his first draft.

Diana:

But Metatron's not going to make that mistake.

Diana:

Gabriel's like, well, if.

Diana:

Was the Winchesters getting me?

Diana:

Was that part of the plan?

Diana:

And he's like, it was a surprise twist.

Diana:

Hmm.

Diana:

My job is just to set up interesting characters and see where they lead.

Diana:

But you're writing it, sir.

Liz:

Yes, but he was still surprised because he's not controlling everything.

Liz:

He's just writing out the story.

Liz:

So some things he's not controlling, and he was surprised.

Diana:

But Meta know.

Diana:

Metatron does know the ending.

Diana:

He.

Diana:

So he says.

Liz:

That's what he says.

Liz:

He says he knows the ending, and he doesn't care how they get there as long as everybody plays their part.

Liz:

Yes, he Also misspells his own name as he types, so that's hilarious.

Diana:

Well, then he puts on the record, a Frankie Valley record.

Diana:

The Sun Ain't.

Diana:

Sun Ain't Gonna Shine.

Diana:

It's playing.

Diana:

And we see Sam and Nina driving.

Diana:

Castiel's in his motel pulling down his murder board.

Diana:

Metatron's still typing.

Diana:

And we see the sunrise.

Diana:

And Cassiel draws that symbol, the sigil, to call the angels on his wall of his motel room, which is not as removable as a board, so he's probably gonna lose his deposit, but.

Diana:

And he calls the angels, and he opens a door, and Hannah and a bunch of other angels are waiting outside.

Diana:

His flock is there.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And Metatron types, God watched over them, smiling at his good works.

Liz:

To be continued.

Liz:

As he pulls the paper off the typewriter.

Liz:

And that was a meta episode, which means it's time for a meta quiz.

Liz:

So this is a meta meta quiz, and I'm going to quiz Diana about the things that were in this episode.

Diana:

Damn it.

Liz:

I know I'm paying attention.

Liz:

All right, pressure's on.

Diana:

Pressure's on.

Liz:

Pressure's on.

Liz:

All right, in our first scene, Metatron is typing, and we pan over some of the Carver Edlund books, including a Supernatural Christmas.

Diana:

Yes.

Liz:

What was on the COVID Was it A, the Impala covered in Christmas lights?

Liz:

B, Sam and Dean in sexy Santa outfits?

Liz:

C, an angry Santa, Or D, a clearly wasted John Winchester being very inappropriate with a reindeer?

Diana:

C, angry Santa.

Liz:

You are correct.

Liz:

It was an angry Santa.

Liz:

Although D, someone make that happen.

Liz:

All right, number two, what other authors can be seen on his desk?

Liz:

A.

Liz:

I'm going to use multiple choice.

Liz:

This one, Kurt Vonnegut.

Liz:

B, Essie Hinton.

Liz:

C, Malcolm Gladwell.

Liz:

D, Margaret Atwood.

Diana:

Let me go with B.

Liz:

It was B, but also A, both Kurt Vonnegut and Essie Hinton were on that.

Liz:

And Essie Hinton, being a fan of the show and has been on an episode in, hangs out on the set, so of course she was on there.

Liz:

All right, number three.

Liz:

The three week break between this episode and the last one was dubbed by the fans on Twitter because of the images of Dean in the shower.

Liz:

What was the hashtag that the fans made for the hiatus?

Liz:

I sent it to you in an email.

Diana:

It was like.

Diana:

And you did.

Diana:

It was like Hellatus or something like that.

Diana:

It was.

Diana:

It was a good play on words with the hiatus.

Diana:

I don't remember.

Liz:

You're close and you have it.

Liz:

It was Shower Hilatus.

Diana:

See, I knew that H.

Diana:

I knew that part.

Diana:

Okay, Almost.

Diana:

Almost.

Liz:

All right, question number four.

Liz:

In the shower scene, can you see Jensen Ackles nipples?

Diana:

No.

Liz:

No, you cannot.

Liz:

This one.

Liz:

Just to see if you did your homework.

Liz:

How many episodes of Supernatural has the actress who played Hannah previously appeared in?

Liz:

Don't look at your notes.

Diana:

Overall, she appears in nine episodes.

Liz:

How many episodes before this was she in?

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

The split before and after, I didn't get that deep.

Liz:

She was in two episodes.

Liz:

She played a nurse in season one, episode 12, and she played a young mother in season one, episode 18.

Liz:

Okay, which number Casa Erotica was on the TV?

Diana:

I want to say it was 13, but I don't think that's right.

Liz:

You're close.

Liz:

It's 14.

Liz:

I had multiple choice for that, but.

Diana:

All right.

Liz:

What is the name of the head shop over our unfortunate stoner?

Diana:

Oh, man.

Liz:

I do.

Liz:

I do.

Diana:

Multiple choice.

Diana:

Multiple choice.

Diana:

I might.

Diana:

I saw it.

Diana:

I know.

Liz:

Ian's Herbal Remedies, the Green Zone.

Liz:

Have a Heart or Earthly Delights.

Diana:

It was the Green Zone.

Liz:

It was Ian's Herbal Remedies.

Liz:

Those other three are all actual dispensaries.

Diana:

Sure.

Diana:

I have no doubt in my mind.

Liz:

Not surprising.

Liz:

The dispensaries are in my search engine.

Diana:

But.

Liz:

Okay, so number eight.

Liz:

What is the name of the gas station they go to?

Liz:

That is the Gas and Sip.

Liz:

This is the eighth episode so far it's been in.

Liz:

That is also where Cass worked.

Diana:

That it was.

Diana:

It was.

Diana:

It was the same.

Diana:

I knew.

Diana:

I recognized the name, and I just couldn't think of it.

Diana:

When you asked, I was like.

Liz:

And sometimes I like to torture you.

Liz:

What kind of car is cast driving?

Diana:

It's the gold card that he took from the person that.

Diana:

It's Grace is.

Diana:

And it is the.

Diana:

The Lincoln.

Diana:

I know which card is damaged.

Diana:

I don't remember.

Diana:

It's a 70s Lincoln.

Liz:

It is a Lincoln.

Liz:

It's a:

Liz:

You're close.

Liz:

All right.

Diana:

70S Lincoln.

Diana:

It's gold.

Liz:

You're close.

Liz:

Pardon me.

Liz:

All right, what cartoon animal is on the ice machine at the motel?

Diana:

Penguin?

Liz:

It is.

Liz:

They showed it multiple times.

Diana:

Yes.

Liz:

What room number do cast stay in?

Diana:

Seven.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

What was the name of the motel?

Diana:

I don't remember.

Liz:

Maggie's Cedar Lodge.

Diana:

Oh, yeah.

Diana:

Cedar Lodge.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And how much for a mini shot in the honor bar?

Diana:

I don't remember that.

Liz:

That was $3.

Liz:

I also.

Liz:

I like the fact that it called it.

Liz:

You know, it was cheap.

Liz:

A beer was like two bucks.

Liz:

I might be getting housed off of that.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

You can charge you whatever the you want.

Diana:

Yeah, right.

Liz:

I'm assuming a mini shot is like an airplane bottle.

Diana:

That's what I assume, too.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

So that was our quiz.

Liz:

You did well.

Diana:

All right.

Diana:

I did pretty good, right?

Liz:

You did pretty good.

Diana:

Dang.

Diana:

All right, I'm gonna tell you some casts here.

Diana:

Casting couch.

Diana:

It's the casting couch.

Speaker C:

What they on that show that time with that guy?

Diana:

La la la la la la la la la la la la.

Diana:

Yeah, I know we kind of talked about one, but we weren't really doing.

Liz:

We weren't really talking about her.

Diana:

I didn't give her name and.

Diana:

Well, we didn't.

Diana:

And we didn't really do much cast talk at those.

Diana:

At the time those earlier episodes came out, I knew that it was something we hadn't really talked about.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

Hannah was played by Erica Carroll.

Diana:

sodes of Battlestar Galactica:

Diana:

Yes.

Diana:

What they call it in IMDb was played by Lindsay Maxwell.

Diana:

So this is a chick in Casa Erotica.

Diana:

She's on about three.

Diana:

She's on three episodes of Supernatural total across the series.

Diana:

Done a lot of Hallmark stuff, which is kind of funny.

Diana:

She was Grace in Butterfly Effect 2 and was in McTiddy was her character name in Good Luck Chuck.

Diana:

Our head shop guy was played by Benjamin Rogers.

Diana:

He's actually in two episodes of Supernatural.

Diana:

He's also been an episode of Almost Human Witches of East End Travelers, Deadly Class, the Last of Us and Traitor or Tracker.

Diana:

Excuse me.

Diana:

Which is a good carry crossover to current stuff with Jensen.

Liz:

But.

Diana:

And then we've got.

Diana:

Ingrid was played by Danielle Kremenik, which is one of the.

Diana:

That was the chick that busted into Metatron's office.

Diana:

She's in three episodes of Supernatural across the series as well.

Diana:

She's been in episodes of Smallville El were Elward.

Diana:

She was reoccurring character almost Human Arrow, Lucifer and Travelers.

Diana:

And the other Minion, the other female thing that was dragging Castiel around was played by Priya Rajaratnam.

Diana:

And she's been in episodes of suits and 12 monkeys, the series.

Diana:

She was a young astronaut in Tomorrowland and a Night Watch captain in Star Trek beyond the Movie.

Liz:

So, yeah, very cool.

Liz:

So what did you think?

Diana:

I love a good concept episode, but it's hard when you hate Metatron so much.

Liz:

He's very, very unlikable.

Diana:

But I don't like.

Diana:

I don't.

Diana:

I.

Diana:

You know, I don't know, I think it's.

Diana:

Well, I think even him, like, his, you know, hate for him is annoying because he's a.

Diana:

He's a wonderful villain to hate, I think.

Diana:

I don't know if it's Gadriel.

Diana:

Makes him matter.

Diana:

Does that make sense?

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

Something about the episode.

Diana:

It was fun and.

Diana:

But it was so heavy, so it made it a weird balance.

Liz:

Yeah, no, I think it's a balanced episode.

Liz:

I think it's.

Liz:

It's well written and well directed and well acted.

Liz:

But also Metatron just makes me want to.

Liz:

I want to hit him.

Liz:

I want to hit him a lot.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

There's a lot of.

Diana:

A couple little things I think that were just like.

Diana:

Like I really.

Diana:

But I love an excuse to bring Gabrielle back.

Diana:

So that's always.

Liz:

So now you.

Liz:

Now his name is Gabrielle.

Diana:

What's going on, Gabriel?

Diana:

I know I'm all.

Diana:

I had so much trouble with the Gadriel versus Gabriel in my notes.

Diana:

Gabriel.

Diana:

I couldn't do it.

Diana:

That's part of.

Diana:

That's why I can't say it today.

Diana:

Gabriel and Gabriel.

Liz:

That is true.

Liz:

Because they were both in the episode.

Diana:

And that makes it weird.

Liz:

Makes you want to morph them.

Diana:

Yes, that's my point.

Liz:

But you did.

Diana:

I did.

Diana:

I did.

Diana:

I did.

Diana:

It was terrible.

Liz:

You made a new mashup, which we.

Diana:

Didn'T know existed, so you're welcome.

Liz:

You're welcome.

Liz:

I'm sure there's probably that fan fiction somewhere.

Liz:

Y'all fucking pervs.

Diana:

I know you pervaded.

Liz:

Y'all are pervy.

Liz:

Y'all write everything.

Diana:

Wherever there's a hole in a peen, make it happen.

Liz:

Oh, man.

Liz:

Okay.

Liz:

I think that's a note we're gonna end on.

Diana:

Is that what we're going with?

Diana:

Cool.

Diana:

Cool story.

Liz:

Cheers, sir.

Diana:

Oh, cheers, bitch.
