Dr. Scott Guthrie, TIPQC Infant Medical director is joined by LeighAnn Sutton. LeighAnn works at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. She leads their Perinatal Bereavement program. LeighAnn is Certified in Perinatal Loss and Bereavement and is soon to be a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Coordinator. We discuss this unique role and the how we can learn from her work to best take care of our mothers during a NICU stay … especially when there’s a loss involved.

LeighAnn has pioneered a program called Butterfly’s Embrace in Jackson, that walks families through trauma with the hope of ultimately turning these experiences into something beautiful.
