As Ortega is ready to shoot Dresden, he is hit by a sniper rifle. The duel is ambushed by numerous Red Court vampires and a fight ensues. The confrontation ends and Ortega has escaped and the Archive calls an end to the proceedings. Martin is revealed to be the gunman and promises to take care of an unconscious Susan.
