Join Dr. David Spoon as he dives into the complexities of faith and the challenges faced by the Church of Thyatira. This episode emphasizes the importance of recognizing and addressing spiritual corruption, particularly the influence of false teachings, such as the Jezebel spirit, which encourages believers to stray from biblical principles. Dr. Spoon highlights that even churches with strong elements of faith, love, and service can falter if they allow immoral teachings to take root. He encourages listeners to reflect on their own faith and the environment they are part of, urging them to stand firm in biblical truth. Tune in for a thought-provoking discussion that blends humor with serious spiritual reflection, and discover how faith can guide us through the challenges of 2025 and beyond.
Dr. David Spoon's latest broadcast captivates listeners with a mix of humor and deep spiritual inquiry, tackling the essential question of faith and its implications for believers in the upcoming year. He humorously recounts personal anecdotes and reflections that create a relatable atmosphere, encouraging his audience to consider their own faith journey. Central to the episode is Spoon's question about faith in the Lord to thrive in 2025, which serves as a springboard for discussing the significance of active faith and engagement with Scripture. He emphasizes that genuine faith is not merely a belief but involves action, calling listeners to prepare their hearts for what lies ahead and highlighting the transformative power of God's Word in their lives.
As the episode progresses, Spoon delves into the Book of Revelation, focusing on the Church of Thyatira. He provides a detailed examination of the church's commendable attributes, such as their love, service, and perseverance, while simultaneously addressing the grave issues stemming from the influence of a deceptive figure known as Jezebel. This exploration serves as a powerful reminder that even thriving communities can harbor toxic elements that threaten their spiritual integrity. Spoon's insights challenge the notion that a church is inherently good because of its external works, stressing that it is crucial to maintain sound doctrine and resist teachings that lead believers astray.
Ultimately, the episode is a clarion call for listeners to actively engage with their faith, discern teachings within their communities, and cultivate a deeper relationship with the Lord. Spoon's blend of humor and serious theological reflections creates a compelling narrative that resonates with both seasoned believers and those seeking to deepen their understanding of faith and its practical implications in everyday life.

Dr. David Spoon:Welcome to the Davidspoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.
Dr. David Spoon:My name is Dr.
Dr. David Spoon:David Spoon.
Dr. David Spoon:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Dr. David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Dr. David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
Dr. David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
Dr. David Spoon:We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.
Dr. David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I want to talk biblical love with you.
Dr. David Spoon:So here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Dr. David Spoon:That thing right there.
Dr. David Spoon:Sometimes our questions are thought provoking, challenging us in character.
Dr. David Spoon:Sometimes our questions have to do with just encouragement.
Dr. David Spoon:Sometimes our questions are just dumb.
Dr. David Spoon:And for the fun of it, this question is kind of none of those.
Dr. David Spoon:It's very simple.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a yes or no.
Dr. David Spoon:Have faith, yes or no in the Lord?
Dr. David Spoon:It's a yes or no question.
Dr. David Spoon:Mr.
Dr. David Spoon:And Mrs.
Dr. David Spoon: aith in the Lord to thrive in: Dr. David Spoon: aith in the Lord to thrive in: Dr. David Spoon:In other words, are you ready to receive?
Dr. David Spoon:If God said get ready, what would you do?
Dr. David Spoon:That's what I'm asking you, keeping it as simple as I can.
Dr. David Spoon:If you have a response to that, if you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or own question, please don't let it die of loneliness.
Dr. David Spoon:I consider that sad.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like spending time relaxing and chillaxing.
Dr. David Spoon:Hello.
Jammin Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jammin Jacob:Happy Thursday.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Thursday to you, my friend.
Dr. David Spoon:Everything okay in the Overall spaceship called Kaam 770?
Jammin Jacob:Everything's going great.
Jammin Jacob:How are you doing?
Dr. David Spoon:I'm doing wonderful.
Dr. David Spoon:I was able to get a whole bunch of things done.
Dr. David Spoon:I like it when I almost feel like I'm back on track and I'm getting a whole bunch of stuff done.
Dr. David Spoon:So in the last, like, three days, I got a whole bunch of stuff done.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not that I didn't enjoy family.
Dr. David Spoon:I actually did.
Dr. David Spoon:This is one of the most enjoyable times I've had with family in Christmas and New Year's and with Noelle's family coming to visit.
Dr. David Spoon:But I also like getting it together and kind of getting a little bit on track.
Dr. David Spoon:It helps me in my studies, and it helps me in my time with the Lord spend a little extra.
Dr. David Spoon:So I'm actually doing really well.
Jammin Jacob:So that's great.
Jammin Jacob:It does feel like we're kind of.
Jammin Jacob:Okay.
Jammin Jacob:We're getting it going.
Jammin Jacob:We're getting back to normal because we had the holidays and then we had the ice storm where we were in and out, and then you had to miss a day or two.
Jammin Jacob:So, yeah, it feels like we're finally.
Jammin Jacob:We're getting back to normal.
Jammin Jacob: We're into: Dr. David Spoon:Exactly.
Dr. David Spoon: We are in the: Dr. David Spoon:Yes.
Dr. David Spoon: the Lord so you can thrive in: Dr. David Spoon:It takes faith to please God.
Dr. David Spoon:So my direct response would be, get some.
Dr. David Spoon:I wouldn't say on that one.
Dr. David Spoon:Go to the bank, take out a loan, and buy a clue.
Dr. David Spoon:It does apply.
Dr. David Spoon:But what I would say is faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, faith comes through your engagement with the word of God.
Dr. David Spoon:It also comes through your communion with the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Gets them.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what I'd say to you right there.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so let's keep it simple.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, you can call us.
Dr. David Spoon:You can also text.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't you love that?
Dr. David Spoon:During the show, you can text.
Dr. David Spoon:It's kind of nice, you know, kind of just share.
Dr. David Spoon:Some people texts are not that nice.
Dr. David Spoon:It's okay.
Dr. David Spoon:I love you.
Dr. David Spoon:Anyway, bottom line is you can text.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:So the text number is different than the call number.
Dr. David Spoon:So for those who are thinking, oh, I'm gonna call, do not call that.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email.
Dr. David Spoon:Even that is fun.
Dr. David Spoon:It's kind of a nice way to communicate.
Dr. David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org David.
Dr. David Spoon:Because that's my name.
Dr. David Spoon:The A with the circle.
Dr. David Spoon:He must increase dot org.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all one thing.
Dr. David Spoon:You get the email, I will get it.
Dr. David Spoon:I might not reply right away, but I will absolutely reply to it.
Dr. David Spoon:Just to let you know, the reason that you would call us, text us, or email us is maybe you've got a praise report, maybe you have a testimony.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, I really don't care what you want to call it.
Dr. David Spoon:That part of this doesn't mean anything.
Dr. David Spoon:That is really semantics.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't care what you call it.
Dr. David Spoon:A praise, a thank you, an acknowledgement, whatever.
Dr. David Spoon:If you've got something the Lord has done and you want a venue where you can share it, this is it.
Dr. David Spoon:And you get to share it.
Dr. David Spoon:Because we love hearing that the Lord is active in people's lives.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a blessing to other people.
Dr. David Spoon:And most certainly it brings glory to the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:And that's a key.
Dr. David Spoon:If you've got a prayer request, we're not like a lot of those people, especially people that try to lead the country and don't have a clue that prayer is the most effective tool for leadership, period.
Dr. David Spoon:Everybody who just thinks, oh, you gotta be smart.
Dr. David Spoon:You gotta have common sense.
Dr. David Spoon:Saw the other day on a political show where I stopped and watched for 10 minutes.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like, you know, this country, it doesn't need faith, it needs common sense.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like, you know what this country needs?
Dr. David Spoon:Faith.
Dr. David Spoon:Faith in God.
Dr. David Spoon:Faith that God is a gracious God and he will guide and direct us.
Dr. David Spoon:The common sense of man is tainted by sin.
Dr. David Spoon:So let's at least keep that in the forefront of our Christian thinking.
Dr. David Spoon:Good idea.
Dr. David Spoon:Right there.
Dr. David Spoon:So if you've got a prayer request, bring it, let's pray.
Dr. David Spoon:If you've got something you want to share, bring it, share it.
Dr. David Spoon:Let it bless people.
Dr. David Spoon:If you're in a really bad mood and you just want to complain, don't do it.
Dr. David Spoon:Ask the Lord to change your heart.
Dr. David Spoon:The reason is simply this.
Dr. David Spoon:Complaining wearies the Lord when you complain.
Dr. David Spoon:He said in Malachi, you have wearied me with your words.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't do that.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay?
Dr. David Spoon:If you can't, you can't lift up Praise unto the Lord, then get into his presence, because in his presence is the fullness of joy.
Dr. David Spoon:And it won't take you very long for you to be changing that frown and turning it upside down to a great awesome thank you fest, because that's what we all need to operate in.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay?
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:All right.
Dr. David Spoon:So we got different things we're gonna be doing.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll talk about that later.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll do our trivia question later.
Dr. David Spoon:We are in the book of Revelation this day.
Dr. David Spoon:We are gonna be picking it up at the church at Thyatira.
Dr. David Spoon:I am telling you now.
Dr. David Spoon:So you have been warned.
Dr. David Spoon:We are in this portion where we're going to get through the churches.
Dr. David Spoon:We've done chapter one.
Dr. David Spoon:We're doing chapter two and three.
Dr. David Spoon:When we get to Revelation 4 through 4 through 22, we're going to take the two primary points of view instead of the four, because it will just take me so long to do the four.
Dr. David Spoon:I will every once in a while insert some of those other ones.
Dr. David Spoon:But I want to focus on the two primary interpretations.
Dr. David Spoon:And I'm going to tell you right now, I'm not going to tell you which one you think should apply.
Dr. David Spoon:I happen to operate in the principle that they all apply because I'm a manifold millennialist.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't bother Googling it.
Dr. David Spoon:You won't find it.
Dr. David Spoon:It's in that deep, deep vein of people, theologians, who get into it.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a very, very, very interesting concept.
Dr. David Spoon:What it is, is the different points of view are awesome.
Dr. David Spoon:And everything you come across that can help you draw closer to the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Genuinely draw closer to the Lord is something you should use.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, got it.
Dr. David Spoon:Not complex.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Having said all that, we are now about to talk about a church.
Dr. David Spoon:Not the greatest in the world, let's just say it this way.
Dr. David Spoon:This is actually called the Church of Thyatira, the corrupt church.
Dr. David Spoon:Ouch.
Dr. David Spoon:We're going to talk about something people have been arguing about for 50 years, but it has nothing to do with eschatology per se.
Dr. David Spoon:All right.
Dr. David Spoon:Verse 18 of chapter two says this.
Dr. David Spoon:And to the angel of the church, Ephyatira, write these things, says the son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire and his feet are like fine brass.
Dr. David Spoon:Verse 19.
Dr. David Spoon:I know your works.
Dr. David Spoon:I know your love, your service, faith, and your patience.
Dr. David Spoon:And as for your works, the last are more than the first.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow, nice verse.
Dr. David Spoon:20.
Dr. David Spoon:Nevertheless, I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, let's pick it up.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's what we're finding out.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus goes to the church at Thyatira.
Dr. David Spoon:Remember in Revelation you have the introduction.
Dr. David Spoon:We did chapter one for those that missed it.
Dr. David Spoon:It's in the podcast every episode and so you just gotta look for it for Thursdays.
Dr. David Spoon:What we talked about is chapter two and chapter three.
Dr. David Spoon:We're not using the dispensationalism approach that this is different church ages.
Dr. David Spoon:My biggest contention with that is the lukewarm church in the seventh phase of dispensationalism.
Dr. David Spoon: years than the prior: Dr. David Spoon:So, eh, I don't know about the lukewarm part of it.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's what I'm going to say to you.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus is really going after this church, but before he tells them, because it's a corrupt church.
Dr. David Spoon:And by the way, that's not a good reputation.
Dr. David Spoon:Before he gets into that and before he does that, it's interesting to note that there are some people and some things even in a corrupt church that get done right.
Dr. David Spoon:There are some things, some teachings, some actions, and some people that do correct and righteous before the eyes of the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:If you go to a church and you're like, ugh, not my church.
Dr. David Spoon:Gosh, nothing like it.
Dr. David Spoon:That doesn't mean that there's nobody there that represents the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:You got to be careful about that.
Dr. David Spoon:Only God knows each and every person and what they do and don't do.
Dr. David Spoon:And I have come across Christians who have actually told me personally face to face that the church they go to, they're not thrilled about it, but they believe God wants them to be there because they're the light, a part of the light that can help restore that church to the right place.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't have a problem with that if that's their ministry.
Dr. David Spoon:As long as they're not usurping authority, I think it's fine.
Dr. David Spoon:As long as they're doing it with a humble and right spirit.
Dr. David Spoon:What's wrong with that?
Dr. David Spoon:Trying to be an influence.
Dr. David Spoon:I like it.
Dr. David Spoon:That's good.
Dr. David Spoon:But I want to point out the very first thing that Jesus talks about, and this is kind of where, you know, this church may have an issue or two.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus in the Very beginning of this letter identifies him as himself, as one who has eyes like flames of fire and feet like brass.
Dr. David Spoon:You might be thinking that's kind of an interesting picture of Jesus.
Dr. David Spoon:Yep, sure is.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's the big thing about eyes like fire and feet like brass.
Dr. David Spoon:They both symbolically connect to divine judgment.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the problem.
Dr. David Spoon:If Jesus shows up at your church and his eyes are a flame of fire and he's got feet like brass, it be trouble time.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you understand?
Dr. David Spoon:It's like those have to do.
Dr. David Spoon:Those are symbolic of judgment elements.
Dr. David Spoon:And the Lord purges by fire.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, boy.
Dr. David Spoon:And our God is a consuming fire.
Dr. David Spoon:It says in Hebrews.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not a positive in that sense.
Dr. David Spoon:And people are like, well, it can be positive, like the Holy Spirit falling in Acts 2.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah, it can be.
Dr. David Spoon:Context is the key.
Dr. David Spoon:And in this context, eyes like fire, not happy, not good.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not a good thing.
Dr. David Spoon:In his mercy, right?
Dr. David Spoon:He points out that he is aware of their works, their love, their service, their patience, and their faith.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, what's amazing to me about this and how Jesus approaches churches and remember, this is the Lord directly talking to a group of Christians.
Dr. David Spoon:These aren't non Christians.
Dr. David Spoon:These are Christians.
Dr. David Spoon:And Jesus directly connecting to them.
Dr. David Spoon:He highlights these five really strong elements that this church holds.
Dr. David Spoon:They are good at the works.
Dr. David Spoon:They are good at love.
Dr. David Spoon:They are good at service.
Dr. David Spoon:They are good at being patient.
Dr. David Spoon:Well, most of the Christians I know aren't.
Dr. David Spoon:And they're good in their faith.
Dr. David Spoon:That's amazing.
Dr. David Spoon:It's strong.
Dr. David Spoon:Strong elements.
Dr. David Spoon:One would think if you're operating strongly in love and service and faith, gosh, it's got to be a healthy church.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's what it teaches you.
Dr. David Spoon:The reality is that if we allow certain elements in our lives that are bad, certain elements in our lives that are wrong, certain elements in our lives that are sinful, they tarnish the good that's being done.
Dr. David Spoon:You know who said that?
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus, I think.
Dr. David Spoon:What are you talking about?
Dr. David Spoon:Well, this would be really good for people who are fake bishops who try to sanctify sin from a pulpit, a political pulpit.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like, that's just dumb.
Dr. David Spoon:Because the truth of the matter is you can have good faith, you can have good love and still be kind of a wreck where God has to change things.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, but it's all about love, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all about love.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all about love.
Dr. David Spoon:Sin is mentioned two times more than love in the New Testament.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you hear that stat quote?
Dr. David Spoon:Nope.
Dr. David Spoon:Did you know that?
Dr. David Spoon:It's amazing.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you hear everybody say, this is the core.
Dr. David Spoon:They just had somebody come out.
Dr. David Spoon:It was not even in the political realm saying the core tenets of Christianity are to take care of the poor.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not even accurate in regards to the truth of biblical truth.
Dr. David Spoon:Not numerically, not in any other fashion.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes, we're supposed to take care of the poor.
Dr. David Spoon:But the people who are religious get mad when you honor Jesus.
Dr. David Spoon:Even if the money could have been taken and given to the poor.
Dr. David Spoon:And Jesus told the people that were annoyed by that, shut up.
Dr. David Spoon:They're honoring me.
Dr. David Spoon:See how that works?
Dr. David Spoon:If it's agenda driven, it's got a demonic drive to it.
Dr. David Spoon:Just think of it in those terms.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, when we come back, we're going to talk about the Jezebel spirit.
Dr. David Spoon:Uh oh, uh oh.
Dr. David Spoon:Because this is the first thing Jesus brings up.
Dr. David Spoon:But before we get there, let's ask this simple question.
Dr. David Spoon:Is the Book of First Corinthians in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?
Dr. David Spoon:Is the Book of First Corinthians in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?
Dr. David Spoon:If you think you know, you can reach out to us.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org is the book of First Corinthians in the Old Testament, New Testament, or neither.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Davidemustincreased.org is in fact the email.
Dr. David Spoon:And here you go.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm going to send you up to the website Proverbs 3.
Dr. David Spoon:9.
Dr. David Spoon:Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce.
Dr. David Spoon:Even if you don't give to us, you honor God with what you have.
Dr. David Spoon:One of the most amazing things that I was reading when I was getting into 1 Peter, chapter 4, how it mentions in such a brilliant way, we are all stewards, every one of us.
Dr. David Spoon:And you have to think in your mind, what are we stewards of?
Dr. David Spoon:You're stewards of your time, your talent and your treasure.
Dr. David Spoon:You are stewards of the time God has given you.
Dr. David Spoon:You are steward of the talents and abilities that God has given you.
Dr. David Spoon:And you are stewards of the treasure that God has given you.
Dr. David Spoon:So in all three of those areas, be a giver.
Dr. David Spoon:Check it out.
Dr. David Spoon:That and a whole bunch more on the website.
Dr. David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org prayer request hemost praise report looking to give to this ministry.
Dr. David Spoon:Hemosincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.
Dr. David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org you can't have a pie without Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:You mean Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:You're saying it weird.
Dr. David Spoon:Why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?
Dr. David Spoon:What are you talking about?
Dr. David Spoon:I'm just saying it.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:People are like, what is wrong with you people?
Dr. David Spoon:I don't know.
Dr. David Spoon:It's Thursday.
Dr. David Spoon:That seems like a good day to talk about Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool Whip.
Dr. David Spoon:All right.
Dr. David Spoon:Anyway.
Dr. David Spoon:Book of 1 Corinthians, Old Testament, New Testament, or neither.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:And being Jewish, I have multiple opinions.
Dr. David Spoon:Here you go.
Dr. David Spoon:Right after Jesus tells the church of Thyatira these things, says the Son of God, who has eyes like flame of fire and his feet like fine brass.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow.
Dr. David Spoon:We know those are judgment symbols.
Dr. David Spoon:I know your works, your love, your service, your faith, and your patience.
Dr. David Spoon:And as for your works, the last are more than the first.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus is impressed that they're doing so well in that area.
Dr. David Spoon:Verse 20 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you.
Dr. David Spoon:First thing he mentions, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants, to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's understand what's being talked about here, as sometimes the church gets on a big bender and it's not always a good thing, if you understand what I'm saying.
Dr. David Spoon:He brings up something that is generated in many teachings in the church in the last 50 years.
Dr. David Spoon:When he says, I have a few things against you.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not one.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a couple of things.
Dr. David Spoon:And he ain't happy if Jesus approaches you and has a few things against you, a few things not happy with.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's a great idea.
Dr. David Spoon:Humble yourself and go, yes, Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Unless you want to walk around like a cow, like Nebuchadnezzar did.
Dr. David Spoon:It's better to approach it that way.
Dr. David Spoon:For God gives grace to the humble, but he fights against the proud.
Dr. David Spoon:So he talks about this woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess.
Dr. David Spoon:And what she's doing is straightforward, teaching and seducing God's servants to commit sexual immorality.
Dr. David Spoon:I want to make sure you understand this, because I make sure you don't miss this.
Dr. David Spoon:And she's teaching them to eat things offered to idols.
Dr. David Spoon:Unfortunately, the church in some cases has taken this text and said, every strong woman has the Jezebel spirit because it manifests when a woman has strong personality, that is El stupid.
Dr. David Spoon:O, that is El dumb, a runo.
Dr. David Spoon:That is a bozo.
Dr. David Spoon:No, no.
Dr. David Spoon:A woman who has a strong attitude, a strong personality, does not have the Jezebel spirit.
Dr. David Spoon:Wrong answer.
Dr. David Spoon:The Jezebel spirit is one that is teaching believers to commit sexual immorality, period.
Dr. David Spoon:And if your church has gone through a thing and then somebody stands up and shares or whatever the case may be, it's like, well, we just don't like her.
Dr. David Spoon:She got a Jezebel spirit.
Dr. David Spoon:That's just literally ridiculous.
Dr. David Spoon:This woman Jezebel is specifically teaching about sexual immorality and food offered to idols as being approved.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the problem.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not that she's got a strong personality.
Dr. David Spoon:It's that she's got an evil spirit moving in her.
Dr. David Spoon:And so you need to separate those two, as the church has spent a little extra time going down that road, which it would do a good idea to kind of pull that back just a bit.
Dr. David Spoon:So the Jezebel spirit that the church needs to be concerned about has to do with women who are claiming to be prophets, and they're not prophets.
Dr. David Spoon:And in their prophecies, they're seducing people to commit sexual immorality.
Dr. David Spoon:That doesn't have anything to do with a strong personality.
Dr. David Spoon:Somebody who's stronger, more bold than somebody else.
Dr. David Spoon:Got nothing to do with it.
Dr. David Spoon:This has to do with immorality that is sexual.
Dr. David Spoon:And really what it comes down to, especially when you get into it, is this woman was using sex to seduce people to commit sinful acts, which is why husbands and wives are not allowed to use sex as a weapon, ever.
Dr. David Spoon:Not permitted.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm withholding because I'm mad.
Dr. David Spoon:Not allowed.
Dr. David Spoon:Not acceptable in the kingdom of God.
Dr. David Spoon:Some women might not like that.
Dr. David Spoon:Some men might not like that.
Dr. David Spoon:Tough.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not what that's for.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not what that enemy is created for.

Dr. David Spoon:And the teaching is godless.
Dr. David Spoon:And when a woman speaks and teaches godlessness like there's nothing wrong with trans, then it is wrong and a sin, period.
Dr. David Spoon:And people don't like it.
Dr. David Spoon:Tough book of First Corinthians in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither.

Dr. David Spoon:A pastor was leaving his area and was saying farewell to his congregation at the church.
Dr. David Spoon:Door for the last time.
Dr. David Spoon:He shook the hand of an elderly lady.
Dr. David Spoon:As she walked out, she said, your successor won't be as good as you.

Dr. David Spoon:No, really, said the old lady.
Dr. David Spoon:I've been here under five different ministers, and each new one has been worse than the last.
Dr. David Spoon:Ouch.
Dr. David Spoon:Ouch.
Dr. David Spoon:But this one, this is the one that's going to offend people, which is irony, right?

Dr. David Spoon:You know, take.
Dr. David Spoon:Take a week off the show.
Dr. David Spoon:It seems there was a minister who had just all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made.
Dr. David Spoon:The first Sunday, he only preached 10 minutes.
Dr. David Spoon:The second Sunday, he preached 20 minutes.
Dr. David Spoon:But the third Sunday, he preached an hour and 25 minutes.
Dr. David Spoon:When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.
Dr. David Spoon:The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.
Dr. David Spoon:The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot.
Dr. David Spoon:The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures and I couldn't stop talking.
