Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy

Welcome to Day 422 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom

Adversity = Opportunity – Wisdom Unplugged

Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is day 422 of our trek, and it is Thursday and time for our 2-3 minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom on Tuesday & Thursday. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Ara Parseghian, the famous coach of Notre Dame. His quote is “Adversity affords unique opportunities to elicit superior performance from hidden talent that would otherwise remain dormant.”

Adversity tends to become a refining fire in many people’s lives. When you are pushed and tested, your true resolve will become evident.  Talents that you did not realize were part of the very fabric of your soul will come to the surface and will be your strength. This new found strength will take you to new heights so that you can boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Every biography that you will read about a person who has achieved any type of success or recognition shows a life filled with adversity, trials, and failures. We should not only welcome these times of adversity, but find joy in them. Jesus’s half-brother James put it well when he wrote in his letter in Chapter 1:2-4, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

That is a wrap for Wisdom Unplugged for today. Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most importantly your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.

As we take this trek of life together, let us always:

  1. Live Abundantly (Fully)
  2. Love Unconditionally
  3. Listen Intentionally
  4. Learn Continuously
  5. Lend to others Generously
  6. Lead with Integrity
  7. Leave a Living Legacy Each Day

This is Guthrie Chamberlain reminding you to Keep Moving Forward, Enjoy Your Journey, and Create a Great Day Every Day! See you tomorrow for Philosophy Friday!
