Shownotes

This episode of the David Spoon Experience dives into the profound miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000, highlighting how He transformed a meager offering of five loaves and two fish into a feast for thousands. David emphasizes that the miracle occurs not just in the initial blessing but in the act of sharing what little one has. He explores the importance of gratitude and sharing, illustrating how God can turn our limited resources into abundance when we trust in Him. Through engaging discussions and personal anecdotes, David encourages listeners to recognize their connection with God as their ultimate source and resource. With a blend of heartfelt encouragement and practical insights, this episode serves as a reminder of the power of faith and community in overcoming life's challenges.

As the show progresses, Spoon delves into the complexities of suffering and divine purpose. He candidly discusses the reality of pain in life and how it serves a greater purpose in God's plan. By referencing his personal experiences and scriptural teachings, he provides a comforting yet sobering reminder that God allows hardships not as punishment but as a means of growth and transformation. This segment of the podcast encourages listeners to embrace their struggles, understanding that they are integral to their spiritual journey. Spoon's ability to weave personal anecdotes with scriptural wisdom creates a relatable and engaging narrative that resonates deeply with the audience.

Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's fantastic.

David Spoon:

Phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating.

David Spoon:

Friday as we head into the weekend, not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas because our help comes from the Lord.

David Spoon:

It's Friday, time for Dr.

David Spoon:

Day's devotional Diamonds of the Day.

David Spoon:

We have four very interesting lessons to dive into.

David Spoon:

We'll open up with a reality check about everyone being one as the human race.

David Spoon:

This is absolutely true when it comes to sin, but absolutely not true when it comes to being people of God, period.

David Spoon:

Not everyone is considered by God to be a child of God.

David Spoon:

You know who said that?

David Spoon:

Jesus.

David Spoon:

Next, the second lesson has to do with understanding that there are times when troubling things take place in our lives.

David Spoon:

I wrote an entire book about understanding.

David Spoon:

There are times when God allows painful events to take place.

David Spoon:

To deny this is to deny scripture.

David Spoon:

If God causes everything in our lives to work together for good, then it presupposes that there are things that are not good that need to be worked out into good.

David Spoon:

And finally, we're going to close this week with what I consider to be one of the better ddddd's.

David Spoon:

When you get into the explanation with people who are evolutionists, they tend to try and explain that the universe started from nothing and became something.

David Spoon:

But they never seem to be able to explain what that something is.

David Spoon:

In other words, it's absolutely illogical for for there to be nothing and then something without some form of agency making that happen.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

God is that agency.

David Spoon:

He's the only one who can bring something out of nothing.

Narrator:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

Narrator:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

Narrator:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

Narrator:

The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

Narrator:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

Narrator:

He joined KAAM and this radio program began.

Narrator:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and oy vey, so much more.

David Spoon:

Now, we've told you a million times it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

It's so true because I've told you a million times and we haven't done a million Shows.

David Spoon:

So I do think that's funny right off the bat.

David Spoon:

But in order to verify that it's not professional radio, we need to ask the Cardinal of Professional Radio.

David Spoon:

Oh boy, you're getting into these statuses right here.

David Spoon:

The Cardinal himself, our very own Jam.

David Spoon:

And Jacob, the Cardinal of professional Radio.

David Spoon:

Cardinal Jacob is the David Spoon experience.

David Spoon:

Professional radio.

David Spoon:

No, it is not David.

David Spoon:

Thank you, Cardinal.

David Spoon:

I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

You're welcome.

David Spoon:

Not much to say after that, do you?

David Spoon:

This is gonna like.

David Spoon:

Just leave it there, Dave.

David Spoon:

That's a good one right there.

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

Bottom line is we wanna know how you're doing.

David Spoon:

That's true.

David Spoon:

We just wanna know where you're at.

David Spoon:

It's cool.

David Spoon:

Here's the thing about what I just taught about and I want you not to miss it.

David Spoon:

Look it, we are a part of one another.

David Spoon:

The Holy Spirit exists in you.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

The Holy Spirit exists in me.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

The Holy Spirit exists in other believers.

David Spoon:

We are connected.

David Spoon:

The greatest unifying connection for the people of God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

One dad, blood relatives drinking of one spirit.

David Spoon:

And we want to make sure everybody's doing as good as they can do.

David Spoon:

We know there's ups and down times.

David Spoon:

We get it.

David Spoon:

Nobody is unfamiliar with that.

David Spoon:

Nobody.

David Spoon:

But we are here to support, to strengthen, to bless and to encourage.

David Spoon:

So we want to know what you got going on.

David Spoon:

It can be something that you want to share that's just really like super positive praise report.

David Spoon:

You kind of think that's awesome.

David Spoon:

Could be a prayer request, could be something you're struggling with.

David Spoon:

It could be something deep and dark and you just.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

I just need prayer for it.

David Spoon:

I don't even care anymore.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's just got a scripture the Lord's put on her, any of those things.

David Spoon:

What you do is you reach out to us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Jacob.

David Spoon:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Friday.

David Spoon:

Happy heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Happy heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Should be lots of fun.

David Spoon:

We got some.

David Spoon:

Not just football games and different things like that, but hopefully my wife, in this span of Time will get a little extra break.

David Spoon:

She's.

David Spoon:

She worked yesterday.

David Spoon:

A little painful and she doing better today, but trying to take it easy.

David Spoon:

And we did have a night without the dog and it was amazing.

David Spoon:

You can't believe that we got two hours worth of stuff each done faster without the dog in the house.

David Spoon:

I just want to point that out to you.

David Spoon:

It's just like, yeah, you got here earlier than usual.

David Spoon:

I was thinking for a moment there that we were going to record today.

David Spoon:

You cannot believe how much stuff I got.

David Spoon:

You'd just be like, wow, you really got that much stuff?

David Spoon:

I got the whole book edited, I got it republished, I got read.

David Spoon:

I mean, just all this stuff done just by Bert not being there.

David Spoon:

Poor Bert.

David Spoon:

I know that dog puts up with a lot, but then again, so do we.

David Spoon:

Anyway, again, why would you call us?

David Spoon:

Why would you text us?

David Spoon:

Why would you email us?

David Spoon:

Maybe you got a praise report.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something on your heart and mind.

David Spoon:

You want to share it.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got an answer to Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

Let's see.

David Spoon:

These Bible trivia questions, get ready.

David Spoon:

Have to do with Job, not the book of Job.

David Spoon:

Job, here's your first trivia question.

David Spoon:

In what land did Job live?

David Spoon:

Your reference.

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse one.

David Spoon:

In what land did Job live?

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse one.

David Spoon:

Get that, get that.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

What land did Job Live?

David Spoon:

Job 1:1.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Additionally, you know what you can do.

David Spoon:

I'm just letting you know I know what you can do.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

You can send an email, David.

David Spoon:

And he must increase.

David Spoon:

So that's the question.

David Spoon:

In what land did Job live?

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse one.

David Spoon:

I want to say something real quick and then we'll get to it.

David Spoon:

I just listen to what I'm going to say.

David Spoon:

We do have somebody that's going to answer, but just a second.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I want to give a shout out to Abigail Bush, Abigail Trooper that she is.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to say all that goes on, but she wanted to give a donation to the ministry and she was having a little bit of problem doing it.

David Spoon:

So the reason is because sometimes I don't explain it because I'm not that bright.

David Spoon:

There are three ways to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

We'll talk about giving later on.

David Spoon:

But I just want you to understand the three ways you can give online.

David Spoon:

At the website, you can send a check to Hmim, which is he must increase ministry, and send it here to the studio.

David Spoon:

Or you can call me on the phone and I can take your information directly and then process it for you.

David Spoon:

I just want you to be aware of that, because sometimes if you go online, people have a harder time getting through certain questions.

David Spoon:

And so what happened is Abigail, being the trooper that she was, said, hey, I want to give, but I want to reach out to you and do it directly.

David Spoon:

We did that.

David Spoon:

It took 15 seconds, and it just worked out perfectly.

David Spoon:

So I'm just encouraging people that if you want to give and you just like, hey, I can't do it online, Dave.

David Spoon:

I got to do it in person.

David Spoon:

Don't want to do a check.

David Spoon:

Just let me know.

David Spoon:

It's the same as the text number.

David Spoon:

It's just not during the show times, that's all.

David Spoon:

So there's always three ways to give.

David Spoon:

There's online, there's by check, or there's by phone.

David Spoon:

Those are the three ways you can give to the ministry.

David Spoon:

All right, somebody is ready to answer a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Fred:

Good afternoon, Dr.

Fred:

Spoon.

Fred:

This is Fred.

Fred:

How are you?

David Spoon:

Hello, Fred.

David Spoon:

How are you, brother?

Fred:

I'm doing just fine.

David Spoon:

All right, now, don't forget that special birthday rendition.

David Spoon:

You only get that once a year.

Fred:

Well, I'll tell you what, I appreciate that, because I definitely can't sing either, so that's not my gift.

David Spoon:

Yeah, it was perfectly in pitch of.

David Spoon:

No pitch whatsoever.

Fred:

In the key of Z.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Correct.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

And the key of.

David Spoon:

Well, that left.

David Spoon:

Okay, here we go.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother, let's set up the trivia question.

David Spoon:

In the land of.

David Spoon:

What did Job.

David Spoon:

What land did Job live in?

Fred:

I wonder if that movie, the Wizards of Oz, got there.

Fred:

The time of that city.

Fred:

From the scripture, certainly the man is what's called usually.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that is correct.

David Spoon:

Absolutely.

David Spoon:

And listen to this.

David Spoon:

I was gonna use the wizard of Oz as a key, and then I decided not to because I thought that would confuse people.

David Spoon:

And then you brought it up.

Fred:

David, let me clarify one thing.

Fred:

Yesterday I made a few expressions about Halloween.

Fred:

I certainly didn't want to offend anybody or leave anybody down the wrong road.

David Spoon:

No worries.

Fred:

There's some good things about Halloween, and certainly there's some specifics that we need to know as far as their culture is concerned.

Fred:

I Should have directed my attention more specifically towards people like the former Antoine Levay.

Fred:

The Church of Satan, the Satanic Bible.

Fred:

These are the things that give Halloween a black eye.

Fred:

But I don't want anybody to think that I'm implying that Halloween is all bad.

Fred:

Matter of fact, you were talking about candy yesterday.

Fred:

I probably eaten so much candy over the years, I don't believe blood.

Fred:

I bleed sugar.

Fred:

I mean, I love Halloween.

Fred:

That part of it, anyway.

Fred:

So my point that I really need to want to make is today that it's not about the occult.

Fred:

It's about the Christ, the Christ in you, the hope of glory.

David Spoon:

Amen.

Fred:

So remember, as we.

Fred:

As we every year, as we go through Halloween, remember that greater is he that is in you, that is God or Christ, than he that is in the world.

Fred:

Because God always has been, is, and always will be greater than the devil, the occult, and anything that regarding any evil spirit or any evil thing, God is greater.

Fred:

He is El Shaddai, the Lord God Almighty.

David Spoon:

That is absolutely right if you think about it and get into the text and we'll get into this in revelation.

David Spoon:

But when push comes to shove, when Satan got thrown out of heaven, God didn't get up off the chair.

David Spoon:

He had Michael.

David Spoon:

He had Michael do it.

David Spoon:

No, I'm not doing it.

David Spoon:

Throw that guy out.

David Spoon:

Just throw that guy out.

David Spoon:

Take care of my light.

Fred:

Wait for me, Michael.

Fred:

Just have a little trouble.

Fred:

I don't want to bother that right now, but take care of my light work.

David Spoon:

That's true.

David Spoon:

I mean, just think about that.

David Spoon:

It's like, wow, he didn't even get up.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I mean, this is like a lot.

David Spoon:

That's a lot of disrespect, but, you know, properly.

David Spoon:

But I mean, it's just a lot of disrespect.

David Spoon:

That guy got dissed.

David Spoon:

I mean, that was hilarious.

David Spoon:

I mean, it's just like that one.

David Spoon:

And I think most people know in our show, and most people know this, Fred, and I think they will give you the benefit of the doubt, because if they don't, they're sinning anyway.

David Spoon:

The point that I'm making is people have different takes.

David Spoon:

There's nothing wrong with that.

David Spoon:

That's okay.

David Spoon:

That's fine.

David Spoon:

That's fine.

David Spoon:

The biggest thing that people got to be careful of is, is whether you're free in it or not free in it and not comfortable.

David Spoon:

Whatever you are, doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

Just don't put that on anybody else.

David Spoon:

Do that between you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's how you do those kind of things.

David Spoon:

It's just really simple.

David Spoon:

And it's like.

Fred:

And that's what I don't want to do.

Fred:

I certainly just want to make that point of, there's a good part, there's a bad part, but stay as far as you wake on the bad part.

David Spoon:

Yeah, no, and I.

David Spoon:

And I'm with you.

David Spoon:

And people have to recognize we have seven grandkids, okay?

David Spoon:

So they don't do any kind of dark themes or anything like that.

David Spoon:

But you could not tell my Addie Bug she can't have candy because you will never live the rest of the day anyway.

David Spoon:

The point is, she just loves thick, free candy.

David Spoon:

And she's like, I think it's hilarious.

David Spoon:

And they go, you know, they do the church.

David Spoon:

They do their.

David Spoon:

They do their kind of thing at the church, the whole element.

David Spoon:

And then they all have to dress up as some kind of Bible person.

David Spoon:

It's just, like, so funny.

Fred:

Let me tell you, sir.

Fred:

Dad, I'm of age.

Fred:

I still want to go trick or treat.

Fred:

Well, but I don't think they're taking an older person knocking at that door saying trick or treat at night.

David Spoon:

Yeah, well, here's the funniest part.

David Spoon:

If people were really honest about it.

David Spoon:

I mean, if you're gonna be totally honest, when the last trick or treat is done and you turn off the lights, you're hoping there's candy over.

David Spoon:

You got any left?

David Spoon:

All right, my turn.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

That's the fact.

Fred:

Absolutely.

Fred:

Well, God bless.

Fred:

I'm gonna take up your time, and I'm gonna get my pen and paper out and sit back and take notes today, because I'm listening.

David Spoon:

All right, God bless you, brother.

Fred:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, we're going to jump right into this teach.

David Spoon:

Just relax, people.

David Spoon:

That's exactly what we're trying to teach people.

David Spoon:

It's like, well, that really offends me.

David Spoon:

Then don't do it.

David Spoon:

See?

David Spoon:

Well, it really doesn't offend me.

David Spoon:

Then do it.

David Spoon:

But don't put that on somebody.

David Spoon:

Just stop.

David Spoon:

That's what all of Romans 14 is about.

David Spoon:

All right, back to this here.

David Spoon:

You know, I'm going to destroy everything.

David Spoon:

Destroy everything that's going on in politics in this one biblical teach.

David Spoon:

Is that okay, Great.

David Spoon:

All right, here it is.

David Spoon:

People are not all one.

David Spoon:

Sorry.

David Spoon:

Exodus 8, 21, 23.

David Spoon:

Here's what God says.

David Spoon:

If you will not let my people go, I will send a swarm of flies on you.

David Spoon:

Your officials, your people and your houses.

David Spoon:

The homes of the Egyptians will be filled with flies.

David Spoon:

And even the ground Outside will be covered with them.

David Spoon:

But on that day, I will treat the region of Goshen differently.

David Spoon:

That is where my people live.

David Spoon:

There won't be any flies there.

David Spoon:

That way you'll know that I, the Lord God, am here in this land.

David Spoon:

I will distinguish between my people and yours.

David Spoon:

This miraculous sign will happen tomorrow.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Flies, gnats.

David Spoon:

Then you got the snake, the blood, the frogs, all these insects.

David Spoon:

God uses whatever he wants to use to win.

David Spoon:

People are always thinking, well, God's going to come down and it's going to be thunderous.

David Spoon:

God used gnats.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you, so stop doing it.

David Spoon:

God used frogs.

David Spoon:

I don't know if he thought it was funny or not.

David Spoon:

Pretty bizarre.

David Spoon:

Here's what he was saying, though.

David Spoon:

Not all the people in this planet are my people.

David Spoon:

There's my people, and then not my people.

David Spoon:

And so we have to recognize people go, no, we're all of one.

David Spoon:

You know, it's all one human race.

David Spoon:

No, it ain't.

David Spoon:

You're thinking, what do you mean in regards to sin, it's all one, and we need redemption.

David Spoon:

In regards to being God's property, it is not.

David Spoon:

It is very selective.

David Spoon:

And just in case you didn't know this, in Exodus 9, 4, God even says, the animals of his people are his and the rest of the animals aren't his.

David Spoon:

The same way even the animals of the chosen people are special in the mind of God.

David Spoon:

And let's just use what Jesus said so that we can bring it to an end.

David Spoon:

John 8.

David Spoon:

44.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, you're of your Father the devil.

David Spoon:

That doesn't sound like everybody's God's kid.

David Spoon:

John 8.

David Spoon:

44.

David Spoon:

Does it say that in the Greek?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

And in every translation ever, ever, it says the same thing.

David Spoon:

There are people that are God's property and there are people that are not.

David Spoon:

You don't know how that all pans out ultimately like God does.

David Spoon:

But people that reject God and tell Jesus no and tell him they want nothing to do with him, are not exactly considered God's property.

David Spoon:

And while we can all say, well, it's all one human race, no, it ain't.

David Spoon:

There's the human race of mankind in his sinfulness, and the human race of mankind that is redeemed.

David Spoon:

And that is the difference between sheep and goat, left and right, his and not his.

David Spoon:

Now, the odds are phenomenally fantastic that if you're listening to this show, you're God's property.

David Spoon:

But I want you to catch how important that is.

David Spoon:

He sees you as his Property as special.

David Spoon:

You want to know why?

David Spoon:

Get rid of.

David Spoon:

Get rid.

David Spoon:

Because you are.

David Spoon:

Because you're his.

David Spoon:

Not because of you, but because of him.

David Spoon:

And you just, like, go, cool.

David Spoon:

Who doesn't like that?

David Spoon:

That's what we want, right?

David Spoon:

Of course that's what we want.

David Spoon:

All right, take our break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

Do you love a good joke?

David Spoon:

That's pretty bad.

David Spoon:

What do you call an animal that doesn't practice what it preaches?

David Spoon:

A hippocritopotamus.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

Do you love being able to ask questions, comments, or having someone to pray for you?

David Spoon:

Do you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question?

David Spoon:

We don't want it to die of loneliness.

David Spoon:

We want it to have a chance.

David Spoon:

And last, but not lis.

David Spoon:

Do you love some trivia?

David Spoon:

All right, we got our trivia question.

David Spoon:

Who made clothes out of leaves that were sewed together?

David Spoon:

Somebody want to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Okay, hold on.

David Spoon:

Hold on.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

We're talking to Mary.

David Spoon:

This is Al.

Brother Roger:

This is Brother Ace.

Brother Roger:

This is Eric.

David Spoon:

This is Deborah.

David Spoon:

Now, if that doesn't make you curious, maybe you should tune in and check it out for yourself.

David Spoon:

Think of me as the big brother that won't go away.

David Spoon:

That's me.

David Spoon:

Tune into the David Spoon experience, weekdays at 1:30pm on 7.70K double am.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience for the president of Focus on the Family?

David Spoon:

When you got that position, I'm talking the initial moment that you knew you were getting that position, were you thinking what exactly?

Narrator:

That's exactly what I was thinking, given my background.

Narrator:

I was going, no, no, no.

Narrator:

In fact, I got home, said to my wife Jean, this is what I've been asked today.

Narrator:

And she looked at me and said, who would have thunk it?

Narrator:

That summed it up.

Narrator:

That was that entire day.

Narrator:

I was just like, oh, my goodness.

Narrator:

My wife and I used to pray for the poor guy coming behind Dr.

Narrator:

Dobson.

David Spoon:

Now you were praying for yourself.

David Spoon:

You didn't even know it.

Narrator:

That's exactly right.

Narrator:

Does he have a sense of humor or what?

David Spoon:

That's great stuff.

David Spoon:

Excellent material and an excellent interview.

David Spoon:

Jim, I really appreciate it.

David Spoon:

You did a great job.

David Spoon:

And I just want to thank you from my whole heart just for all the work that you're doing, for the people that you're blessing and for this project that you guys have been working on on Irreplaceable.

David Spoon:

Nice job.

Narrator:

Thanks, David.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's AMEN 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

As we are going to stall a little bit before we do our next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Some people may be wondering, and you might be listening, saying, why are you going to stall?

David Spoon:

And that's because the Internet had to be rebooted.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you can hear me on that.

David Spoon:

We'll say it a couple times until it comes back.

David Spoon:

But in the meantime, we still do our show.

David Spoon:

We don't stop doing it because that's why we have podcasts.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

That's why we do podcasts.

David Spoon:

So here's what we're going to do.

David Spoon:

We're going to do a trivia question, but first we're going to do our DNA because the DNA will give us a little stall time.

David Spoon:

That's a good idea.

David Spoon:

And it is important to do as well.

David Spoon:

So let's start off before we do anything else doing our DNA.

David Spoon:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

Every day that you are breathing, you should spend some time separated unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

It is that simple.

David Spoon:

Every day you should spend time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

Period.

David Spoon:

There's no if, ands, or buts about it.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

It doesn't have to be a certain amount of Time.

David Spoon:

It doesn't have to be 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter whatever it is between you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

Just have separated.

David Spoon:

Devoted, committed time.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

To the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's D Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

Never, never, never, never be ashamed of the word of God.

David Spoon:

Trust me, most people don't know every single nuance, but trust God.

David Spoon:

He can create the universe, which he did.

David Spoon:

He can write a book.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

That's good.

David Spoon:

So that's the end.

David Spoon:

So d Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

And a Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

To serve.

David Spoon:

Always ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Doesn't mean you're serving every three seconds.

David Spoon:

Just means you're ready for the Lord to use you.

David Spoon:

I still maintain it's a brilliant idea to start your day off saying, lord, I want to be used by you today.

David Spoon:

If there's anything that takes place, I want to make myself available.

David Spoon:

Please use me and intrude on me.

David Spoon:

You know, push me over, do whatever, but just work with me, partner with me.

David Spoon:

I'm here to be the best I can before you.

David Spoon:

I mean, that is the way to go about it, right?

David Spoon:

So d Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

So let me double check with Jacob or is the Internet up on.

David Spoon:

I got it on my laptop.

David Spoon:

It is up now.

David Spoon:

So for those that are going, what happened?

David Spoon:

It went static.

David Spoon:

It went blank.

David Spoon:

We had to have it rebooted.

David Spoon:

So we did it during the break.

David Spoon:

That's because Jennifer is thoughtful and kind towards everybody, and she wouldn't do it while we were doing the show.

David Spoon:

But we're back.

David Spoon:

You didn't miss the trivia question.

David Spoon:

We just did our DNA.

David Spoon:

You might have missed a little bit of the fill, but now we'll do our trivia question and go to the next thing.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

Shouldn't be too hard.

David Spoon:

How many children did Job lose in the storm that hit their home?

David Spoon:

How many children.

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse two, and job, chapter one, verse 18 and 19.

David Spoon:

How many children did Job lose in the beginning of the book of Job?

David Spoon:

How many total children?

David Spoon:

Your reference.

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse two, and Job, chapter one, verse 18 through 19.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or send an email davidcrease.org so we are aware that the Internet went down.

David Spoon:

If you're listening on the radio, you know, we've kind of kept it going all along because we do have podcasts and we have people listen to the podcast, quite a few of them, actually.

David Spoon:

But we are asking this trivia question, and we do.

David Spoon:

We did our DNA.

David Spoon:

Now we're asking this trivia question.

David Spoon:

How many children did Job lose in the storm?

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse two.

David Spoon:

Job, chapter one, verse 18 and 19.

David Spoon:

And we encourage you to respond to that.

David Spoon:

Before we go any further, I want to remind people this is something that's been on my heart very heavy.

David Spoon:

I know people are very anxious about what will or won't happen in the next week, but I am telling you the truth.

David Spoon:

Not prophetically, but proclaiming from the rooftops the truth of God.

David Spoon:

God is in control.

David Spoon:

Not the media, not academia, not Hollywood, not the politicians, not everybody who's a pundit, not everybody who's got an opinion.

David Spoon:

God is in control, and the people that mock him will face him and have to give an account.

David Spoon:

Okay, all right.

David Spoon:

Somebody is ready to answer a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Brother Roger:

It's Brother Roger again.

David Spoon:

Brother Roger again.

David Spoon:

How are you, Brother Roger again?

David Spoon:

I ask you again, how are you, Brother Roger?

Brother Roger:

I'm doing.

Brother Roger:

I'm doing fantastic.

Brother Roger:

Better than I deserve.

Brother Roger:

And we're just going to be praising the Lord the rest of the day in spite of what happens tomorrow.

David Spoon:

Okay, There you go.

David Spoon:

No matter what happens.

Brother Roger:

Or Tuesday.

David Spoon:

Or Tuesday.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Doesn't matter what happens.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because guess who's in charge?

David Spoon:

The Lord is in charge.

Brother Roger:

We're going to praise God through it all.

David Spoon:

Amen.

Brother Roger:

There's a song about that.

Brother Roger:

Through it all.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Through it all.

David Spoon:

Through it.

David Spoon:

That's exactly right.

David Spoon:

And this is the thing.

David Spoon:

People have to remember all these things that everybody hears, and they're all like, oh, this is this.

David Spoon:

And this is this.

David Spoon:

It's like, calm down.

David Spoon:

There's a plan here that goes so far past human comprehension.

David Spoon:

I think the scripture is, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

David Spoon:

Isn't that what it says?

Brother Roger:

I think so.

David Spoon:

Yep.

David Spoon:

I'm pretty sure you got it.

David Spoon:

All right, are you ready to answer the trivia question?

Brother Roger:

Let me think about that one.

Brother Roger:

Having too much fun?

Brother Roger:

I gotta have some fun today.

David Spoon:

All right, let me set it up.

David Spoon:

For you.

David Spoon:

And you answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Okay, okay.

Brother Roger:

I'm gonna do the best I can.

Brother Roger:

I'm not positive, but I think I do know.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

How many children.

David Spoon:

This is job 1, 2, and then job 1.

David Spoon:

18 and 19.

David Spoon:

How many total children did Job lose in that storm that hit the kid's house?

Brother Roger:

Is it seven?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's how many boys, how many girls?

Brother Roger:

Oh, well, then that must be 14.

David Spoon:

Nope.

David Spoon:

Seven.

David Spoon:

Boy.

David Spoon:

He had seven sons.

David Spoon:

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

David Spoon:

How many.

David Spoon:

How many licks to get to the center of a lollipop or a Tootsie Pop?

David Spoon:

So if you had 10 kids.

David Spoon:

So he had seven boys and one, two, three.

David Spoon:

Seven boys, three girls, how many total?

Brother Roger:

10.

David Spoon:

That's correct.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

How many total kids had seven boys and three girls?

David Spoon:

And that's what happened to the original family.

David Spoon:

And people are like, how was it?

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

Brother Roger:

I wasn't being politically correct because I don't count girls.

David Spoon:

Okay, okay.

David Spoon:

That is just a unique statement.

David Spoon:

Remember, Roger again made that sell.

David Spoon:

Send all your addresses to.

David Spoon:

Roger again made that statement.

David Spoon:

Not Dave at gmail dot com.

David Spoon:

That's a good one, right?

Brother Roger:

I'm going to be in trouble with my family now.

Brother Roger:

And I'm not talking.

Brother Roger:

I'm talking about my radio family.

David Spoon:

I know you.

David Spoon:

I know it, Jar.

David Spoon:

They love you.

David Spoon:

They love, love you.

Brother Roger:

Yeah, I'm just kidding, everybody.

David Spoon:

Oh, brother.

David Spoon:

I love your.

David Spoon:

I love your attitude.

David Spoon:

I love your disposition.

David Spoon:

We're continuing to pray for you, for your wife, for everybody connected to you.

David Spoon:

And we just really believe that the Lord has awesome things.

David Spoon:

Great things are coming.

Brother Roger:

I.

Brother Roger:

This is a word we got.

Brother Roger:

Okay?

Brother Roger:

I'm just going to give you the word we got.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Fire away.

Brother Roger:

The word that we got.

Brother Roger:

That.

Brother Roger:

And it has to do with.

Brother Roger:

Through it all, he said that he would go through it with us and he would never leave us and never forsake us and never cause us to beg for bread.

Brother Roger:

So we're going to go through it all, and we're not going to have to beg for anything to eat.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

That's from the passage.

David Spoon:

He never forsakes his seed, nor is his seed begging bread.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

That is right.

David Spoon:

So here's the thing.

David Spoon:

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they went through the fire, but were they alone?

David Spoon:

No, there was somebody with them.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's it.

Brother Roger:

And you were taught.

Brother Roger:

Talk about Job, what he went through?

Brother Roger:

Oh, he went through it.

Brother Roger:

Joseph went through it.

Brother Roger:

Moses went through.

Brother Roger:

And his people went through the sea.

Brother Roger:

You know, they got through we're going to get through, and we're going to get through good election or a bad election, we're going to get through it.

Brother Roger:

And God is going to see us through till the end, Right?

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I'm with you always.

David Spoon:

Even until the very end, right?

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

Brother Roger:

He.

Brother Roger:

His promises are what?

David Spoon:

Yes, and amen.

Brother Roger:

Let's get it.

Brother Roger:

Let's.

Brother Roger:

You know, they talk about turning the page.

Brother Roger:

Let's go back a page, back to the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Brother Roger:

He is the one that has redeemed us, has saved us, and will be an intercessor for us.

Brother Roger:

So that's what I'm going to do.

Brother Roger:

I'm going to leave it up to God Almighty, Jesus Christ, my king, and the gift of the Holy Spirit that he has given me.

Brother Roger:

If I rely on that, I will not fail.

David Spoon:

That is, it is wise to place all of you, all that you have, into the very lap of God so he can protect you as his child.

Brother Roger:

I've been there and done that.

Brother Roger:

You know, I could tell you testimony after testimony about my life, you know, even before I got saved.

Brother Roger:

I was in a truck going down.

Brother Roger:

You know what a strip mine is?

Brother Roger:

They have a lot of steep.

Brother Roger:

I was going through the strip mine and went off the cliff, head over, headlights to tail lights.

Brother Roger:

And my.

Brother Roger:

And I yelled out Jesus.

Brother Roger:

And when I yelled out Jesus, I popped out the back window and a little twig caught under my arm, and the truck went to the bottom, but I stayed about 15ft from the top.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

That's a great testimony.

David Spoon:

Yes.

Brother Roger:

And that's before.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

Brother Roger:

But I had enough, I guess, religion in me to know to call out for Jesus.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

Good job.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Excellent testimony.

David Spoon:

Excellent sharing.

David Spoon:

Very, very good, brother.

David Spoon:

Very.

Brother Roger:

All right.

Brother Roger:

Well, anyway, I better let you get.

Brother Roger:

If you're having technical difficulties, I don't want to be cut off, so I'm gonna let you carry out.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother.

David Spoon:

God bless you, bro.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

Brother Roger:

And guess what, David.

David Spoon:

What's that?

Brother Roger:

You're gonna get through the technical difficulties.

David Spoon:

Yes, yes, we will.

David Spoon:

We will.

David Spoon:

This too shall pass.

Brother Roger:

I'm just so glad that I found your show instead of all the political shows that were on the air.

Brother Roger:

It made me crazy when I was listening to all the political stuff.

Brother Roger:

I just went crazy.

Brother Roger:

I didn't think there was any hope until I found your show.

Brother Roger:

And then I found my hope back, and that's in Jesus Christ.

Brother Roger:

Thank you for your show and thank you for being there.

Brother Roger:

It's up to God.

Brother Roger:

How Long it's going to last.

Brother Roger:

It's up to God how many technical difficulties you're going to get through.

Brother Roger:

I'm praying for you.

Brother Roger:

A brand new set and a brand new Internet and brand new everything that without any glitches.

David Spoon:

Amen, brother.

David Spoon:

I agree.

David Spoon:

In Jesus name, I'm telling you right now.

David Spoon:

All right, brother, I love you.

David Spoon:

We're gonna roll.

David Spoon:

But that was a good one.

David Spoon:

Very, very good sharing.

David Spoon:

Good job, Roger.

Brother Roger:

All right, Mark.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Phenomenal job by Roger again.

David Spoon:

Excellent work.

David Spoon:

All right, we are going to take our break and then come back.

David Spoon:

Everything should be hunky dory when we get there.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

You know, it's not just the audience that needs stuff.

David Spoon:

Sometimes the host needs a little bit of a, you know, tell me the.

Narrator:

Show'S all about you.

David Spoon:

Well, this segment is about the show, but I would say this segment, and it actually has a title for the ddd it's called Joke Time.

David Spoon:

Is Christian Humor Allowed in teaching?

David Spoon:

We've actually had complaints, you know, oh, you can't teach the gospel and use humor.

David Spoon:

That's why Jesus called James and John the sons of thunder, because it wasn't a humorous quip.

David Spoon:

You're right.

David Spoon:

Pretty bad exegetical process.

David Spoon:

But let's look at it.

David Spoon:

Proverbs, chapter 17, verse 22.

David Spoon:

Proverbs:

David Spoon:

A joyful heart is good medicine.

David Spoon:

A joyful heart is good medicine.

David Spoon:

You've heard that before.

David Spoon:

That's not new.

David Spoon:

You know, that's the case.

David Spoon:

But what happens is people take these unique interpretations in Scripture and they think that it applies to all processes.

David Spoon:

So somebody actually said to a member at our station, you can't use levity in the gospel proclamation because Paul says you can't do it in Second Corinthians, then it's like, wrong answer.

David Spoon:

This is why we do the thing called read.

David Spoon:

That's always fun.

David Spoon:

And Second Corinthians, chapter 1, verse 7 says this.

David Spoon:

In case you were trying to figure out where did that word levity come from?

David Spoon:

It's only in one translation.

David Spoon:

It's actually never used in any other capacity.

David Spoon:

But here is what he was talking about.

David Spoon:

Was I fickle when I intended to do this or when I made my plans?

David Spoon:

Did I make so in a worldly manner in the same breath as to say yes, yes, and no?

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

The only time that the potential word levity is used is when Paul is talking about meeting with the Corinthians.

David Spoon:

And the one interpretation you could use is, was I using lightness?

David Spoon:

It's not really the word for levity, just in case you're wondering.

David Spoon:

But was I used, did I use lightness when I made my plans with you?

David Spoon:

In other words, was I kidding around when I made plans to come see you?

David Spoon:

No, that's what Paul said.

David Spoon:

Not.

David Spoon:

You can never use humor.

David Spoon:

So whoever kind of swapped those two together really needs, really needs to, like, relax.

David Spoon:

I think that would be the key.

David Spoon:

And then for those that are just curious, you know, when the gospel talks about this is kind of one of those classic things.

David Spoon:

When the gospel talks about making declaration and the foolishness of preaching the word is more from which we get the word silliness.

David Spoon:

So Paul's like, yeah, preaching the gospel that for the Greek people and for the Jewish people in large, it's kind of like a silliness thing.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's what he said.

Narrator:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KAAM 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

So we are aware that there was a Internet breakdown.

David Spoon:

All the stuff that you missed on the show would still be on the podcast, but everything should be back to normal, which on this show means absolutely nothing.

David Spoon:

Well, I'm just telling you, it just doesn't mean anything at all.

David Spoon:

I do want to get into a couple things.

David Spoon:

I want to get right to it.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

We'll keep this super simple on the next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Who told Job in his troubles?

David Spoon:

Who told him to curse God and die?

David Spoon:

Job, chapter two, verse nine.

David Spoon:

Who told Job curse God and die?

David Spoon:

Job, chapter two, verse 9.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Though I'm going to send you up to the website because I haven't done that yet in the entire show.

David Spoon:

So I'll just say this.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

In regards to giving, do your best that you can with us.

David Spoon:

Deuteronomy:

David Spoon:

Give generously to the needy and do not let your heart be grieved.

David Spoon:

When you do so, and because of this, the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything to which you put your hand.

David Spoon:

God is the one that makes the commitment to reward the people that give to his kingdom.

David Spoon:

On our ministry, we told you, you can do it online, you do it by check, you can do it by phone.

David Spoon:

But we want you to make sure that if you do it, you do it unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

Not in manipulation, not grudgingly, not with a bad attitude.

David Spoon:

We only want money.

David Spoon:

That's cheerful.

David Spoon:

You think that's crazy?

David Spoon:

No, not really.

David Spoon:

I believe God can do more with 10 cheerful dollars than he would do.

David Spoon:

I think he would do more with 10 cheerful dollars than with 20 meeny meeny dollars.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

I just believe that's true.

David Spoon:

How do we know?

David Spoon:

Well, I'm going to be teaching on that because something out of nothing is the very thing the Lord does.

David Spoon:

Takes something little and makes it expand.

David Spoon:

So we're going to get into that in a second.

David Spoon:

We do have somebody ready to answer trivia questions, so let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Sergio:

Shabbat shalom, brother.

David Spoon:

Hello, brother.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Sergio:

Oh, no, stressed.

David Spoon:

Okay, stressed.

David Spoon:

That's just classic.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother, let's set up the trivia question first.

David Spoon:

Who told Job in his troubles to curse God and die?

Sergio:

I think she wasn't the better half.

Sergio:

So she was at wife.

David Spoon:

A wife.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Although I'd like to hear one good sermon on how everything Job went through, she went through because it happened to her, too, at the same time.

David Spoon:

Not the physical part, but the losses.

David Spoon:

It's like that happened to her.

David Spoon:

Anybody recognize that?

David Spoon:

Probably not the.

David Spoon:

Probably not her favorite time of life.

David Spoon:

That's what I would give her for that one.

David Spoon:

So anyway.

David Spoon:

All right, so you're stressed because.

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

Sergio:

Is she was the same wife that later on gave her the sons and.

David Spoon:

Daughter, or that was another wife that's questionable.

David Spoon:

That's my answer.

David Spoon:

That's your punt.

David Spoon:

That's.

David Spoon:

That's that.

David Spoon:

That's the cowboys punting on third down.

David Spoon:

Just saying, some say yes, some say no.

David Spoon:

I just, you know, it's like, okay, but what we know, that the 10 kids were obviously replaced, so tough call.

David Spoon:

And I don't know, she felt like that.

David Spoon:

Maybe she just abandoned the whole thing.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

The friend stuck around for a while.

David Spoon:

It seems like, not really to help out, but just to accuse.

David Spoon:

But we'll move on from there.

David Spoon:

Talk to me about what your stress is?

David Spoon:

Are you thinking God's moving slowly?

Sergio:

I know his timing is perfect.

Sergio:

But I also want to say that I was very encouraged by brother Roger earlier.

Sergio:

Was talking to you.

David Spoon:

Roger again, Brother Roger again, huh?

Sergio:

Yes.

Sergio:

Yeah.

Sergio:

So it was very encouraging within my situation.

Sergio:

So, yeah, so I'm.

Sergio:

I'm encouraged, but physically I'm very tired and stressed.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Sergio:

I would love to receive some prayer and maybe somebody pray and if God shows something, maybe next time you just share with me that what's wrong with me or what, what do I need to do to get over this hump.

David Spoon:

Over getting over the mountain that's in front of you?

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Yes.

Sergio:

Yes, Correct.

David Spoon:

And I'm going to say this to you because I love you.

David Spoon:

Because you know, you're.

David Spoon:

You're encouraged to use your faith to move that mountain.

David Spoon:

I just want to.

David Spoon:

I just want to remind you of that.

David Spoon:

Let me pray over you.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Thanks, Father.

David Spoon:

I come before you right now on my brother's behalf and Lord, sometimes we just need somebody holding up our arms.

David Spoon:

Just like Moses did when he had the staff in his hand.

David Spoon:

He needed help with his arms being up.

David Spoon:

And sometimes we need that.

David Spoon:

Every one of us needs extra help from time to time.

David Spoon:

So we are encouraged that Samson was encouraged by the testimony of you helping Roger again in that absolute drastic scenario.

David Spoon:

You saved his life.

David Spoon:

You redeemed him, you pulled him out miraculously.

David Spoon:

That's what Samson's looking for, the miracle working of power of God.

David Spoon:

But Lord, he is just going to fully invest in you.

David Spoon:

He can't do it without your help.

David Spoon:

He can't do anything right without your help.

David Spoon:

He needs the power of your spirit working through him.

David Spoon:

He needs to be operating in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

He needs your comfort, he needs your energy, he needs your strength.

David Spoon:

And he can't do it without you.

David Spoon:

And he acknowledges that and we acknowledge that with him.

David Spoon:

And we pray that you would pour upon him life, abundant life, just filled with energy and filled with the anointing just like you've done to your servants time and time again.

David Spoon:

Lift him up out of the mire and put a new song in his mouth as you put his feet on a rock and let him sing the praises that are due your name.

David Spoon:

We lift him up before you and ask your blessing on him in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen and Amen.

Sergio:

Amen.

Sergio:

Hey, earlier you were saying the laughter is a good medicine.

Sergio:

Do you have a second?

Sergio:

I could say something.

David Spoon:

One second.

David Spoon:

Fire away.

Brother Roger:

All right.

Brother Roger:

What.

Sergio:

What has either four wheels or six or eight or ten wheels and also flies.

David Spoon:

What has four, six, eight, or ten wheels and also flies?

David Spoon:

What is it?

Sergio:

Garbage truck.

David Spoon:

Oh, my gosh.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll give you a clap on that one.

David Spoon:

I think that's a good one.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother, thank you so much.

David Spoon:

God bless you, brother.

Sergio:

All right.

Sergio:

Shabbat shalom, everybody.

Sergio:

Thank you for prayers.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

Fred:

Love you.

Brother Roger:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Garbage truck.

David Spoon:

Okay, this is where we've come to people.

David Spoon:

This is the place that we have come to.

David Spoon:

I just want everybody to recognize that.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right, cool.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Listen to what I got to say.

David Spoon:

This is really important for every one of you.

David Spoon:

Don't miss this.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

And first of all, I want to say something to Sergio.

David Spoon:

I should have said this.

David Spoon:

I didn't really say it because I didn't want to get into it.

David Spoon:

Sergio had asked the question about Aaron not making it because I didn't want to tell him what's coming as he's going to read it.

David Spoon:

Sergio, it was appointed for him to die, but he also didn't help his cause because he helped Israel fall into sin.

David Spoon:

And God wasn't happy about that.

David Spoon:

So I should have brought that up as well.

David Spoon:

Sorry, I did not bring that up earlier.

David Spoon:

That's one of the reasons why he didn't get into the promised land.

David Spoon:

But that's separate.

David Spoon:

Okay, listen.

David Spoon:

This is called something out of nothing.

David Spoon:

Listen to the text.

David Spoon:

I need to listen to this text.

David Spoon:

You need to listen to this text.

David Spoon:

Luke 9, 12, 16.

David Spoon:

As the day neared its end, the twelve disciples came to Jesus and said, dismiss the crowds so they can go to the surrounding villages and countrysides for lodging and provision for.

David Spoon:

We're in a desolate place.

David Spoon:

But Jesus told them, you give them something to eat.

David Spoon:

Well, we only have five loaves of bread and two fish.

David Spoon:

They answered, unless we go and buy food for all these people.

David Spoon:

And there were about 5,000 men.

David Spoon:

He told his disciples, have them sit down in groups of about 50 each.

David Spoon:

And they did so.

David Spoon:

And everyone was seated, taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven.

David Spoon:

Jesus spoke a blessing and broke them.

David Spoon:

He then gave them to the disciples to set before the people.

David Spoon:

One of the things that we know is that God is our source and our resource, not just financially, but for everything.

David Spoon:

And one of the most amazing things that first of all, you know, and you've heard me teach it multiple times, and other people have as well.

David Spoon:

This is the only creative miracle in all four Gospels.

David Spoon:

The feeding of the 5,000.

David Spoon:

Besides the resurrection, this is the only specialized creative empowerment miracle that takes place in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

David Spoon:

This is the only one.

David Spoon:

And there is a reason why it's the only one.

David Spoon:

Because resources from every point of view have a way of drying up.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you're familiar with this or not, but you know Israel, when they sold their brother Joseph in Israel had his sons, Jacob had his sons.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

There was a famine in the land.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

The land has famine.

David Spoon:

Sin is in the world.

David Spoon:

There are troubles and there are trials.

David Spoon:

But the Lord protecting his nation, Israel, before they actually became a full onboard nation, he was saving them and protecting them ahead of time.

David Spoon:

Because different things happen under the economy of God that He allows.

David Spoon:

And one of them was a famine.

David Spoon:

So here they're in this situation, and this situation happens a lot.

David Spoon:

The resources are limited and there's not a lot to work with.

David Spoon:

And the account looks low, or the cupboard looks low, or think about Elijah.

David Spoon:

The oil looks low.

David Spoon:

And what did Jesus do?

David Spoon:

He took what he had.

David Spoon:

He looked up to heaven and he spoke a blessing.

David Spoon:

Stop right there.

David Spoon:

Your source and resource is God.

David Spoon:

If he gives you your breath, then every step you take comes by the grace of God.

David Spoon:

So there's no, oh, I can do this and I can do this.

David Spoon:

You can't do any of that if God doesn't give you his gift of breath.

David Spoon:

But the thing that Jesus did was he spoke a blessing.

David Spoon:

He didn't complain.

David Spoon:

Jesus didn't go, is that all we got?

David Spoon:

That's what I do.

David Spoon:

That's what a lot of you do.

David Spoon:

Is this all we have that's complaining?

David Spoon:

He didn't do that.

David Spoon:

He spoke a blessing.

David Spoon:

In Matthew, it says, he gave thanks.

David Spoon:

He blessed what he had.

David Spoon:

He appreciated what was there.

David Spoon:

He was thankful for what was in front of him.

David Spoon:

And then he did something amazing.

David Spoon:

He broke it apart and gave it to the disciples so they could set it before the people.

David Spoon:

In fact, not only did he speak a blessing, not only did he say, thank you, he shared what little he had.

David Spoon:

And I want you to pick this up.

David Spoon:

I don't want you to miss this.

David Spoon:

The miracle.

David Spoon:

Listen to what I'm going to tell you.

David Spoon:

It's big and powerful.

David Spoon:

The miracle came in the sharing process.

David Spoon:

When Jesus spoke the blessing and he broke it and he gave it his disciples.

David Spoon:

And then he told his disciples, set this before the people.

David Spoon:

The miracle appeared.

David Spoon:

As the disciples were doing what Jesus said, as they were sharing, the multiplication took place.

David Spoon:

Now watch this.

David Spoon:

You know what we do.

David Spoon:

Let's see if we're going to be honest as Christians.

David Spoon:

Sometimes we hoard what we have because we can't afford to be missing any.

David Spoon:

But look how Jesus did it.

David Spoon:

Took what he had, blessed it, no complaining, said thank you, and then shared.

David Spoon:

And in the sharing process, gave it to the disciples.

David Spoon:

And then the disciple.

David Spoon:

Now keep in mind something right?

David Spoon:

You've got what, 12 disciples, right?

David Spoon:

It even says as the day neared it end, the 12 came to Jesus.

David Spoon:

Well, what do they have?

David Spoon:

Five loaves and two fish.

David Spoon:

Well, so each disciple then could get a half a loaf and a half a.

David Spoon:

You know what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

And then each, well, maybe two of them got a fish.

David Spoon:

In other words, there was just not a lot to share.

David Spoon:

But it was enough.

David Spoon:

Because in the sharing, they then set it before the people and it kept building and kept going and kept growing.

David Spoon:

Because God is the source.

David Spoon:

God is the resource.

David Spoon:

The only one that can take literally little and make it much.

David Spoon:

The only one who can take the pain and make it heal.

David Spoon:

The only one that can take the hard and make it good.

David Spoon:

The only one that could take the difficult and make it easy.

David Spoon:

The only one that can take the nothing and make something, the Lord.

David Spoon:

So we give it to him, we say thank you, we bless it, we share it, and we watch the miracle.

David Spoon:

That is how you handle those situations.

David Spoon:

And by the way, in all four Gospels, right?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we're finished.

David Spoon:

You've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

72 and 1 half hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back, More insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you then.
