Have you chosen your story for 2022? Are you playing the leading role as the hero or are you playing a bit part, an extra going through the motions and not truly showing up?
Last week. I attended Sue night's workshop, 'You unique story for success' . It was a fascinating journey of exploring 'true self' and the story we each want to create for ourselves.
I learned a few things that added weight and put 'meat on the bones' of previous experiences and lessons. I share some of those key lessons in this episode with the hope to assist you in creating and choosing your new story.
I share three ways of exploring your story and three lessons I learned that may be of value to you on your journey.
I do hope you find this episode useful. Please share if you think this can help someone you know.

Over the last few years I've been in pursuit of happiness.
Speaker:And I believe many of us have, especially through these Rocky road times.
Speaker:I've been exploring what choices lead to happiness for others.
Speaker:And what choices lead to happiness for me.
Speaker:And more importantly, how that happiness is sustained.
Speaker:It's that journey that inspired me to create this podcast.
Speaker:There's been no map, no guidebooks that I could follow.
Speaker:It's been an inner journey.
Speaker:And an experience of many environments, circumstances and terrains outwardly.
Speaker:I've wanted a map.
Speaker:I've wanted someone to come and save me and show me the way.
Speaker:I've wanted to come up with a recipe that can be replicated and handed out
Speaker:to all, especially in the current times.
Speaker:Last week.
Speaker:I attended Sue night's workshop.
Speaker:You unique story for success unraveling.
Speaker:And discarding most of the ingredients.
Speaker:I thought were essential in my recipe for happiness.
Speaker:I've taken on some truth bombs.
Speaker:Plenty of new learnings.
Speaker:And that's what I hope to share in this episode.
Speaker:To assist you.
Speaker:And creating and choosing your new story.
Speaker:I cover the misinformed beliefs that haven't served me.
Speaker:Along with three.
Speaker:Foundational steps to creating the story.
Speaker:For your new life.
Speaker:For choosing happy.
Speaker:Join me have a masters for episode 31.
Speaker:Of the choosing happy podcast.
Speaker:Hello, and welcome to the choosing happy podcast.
Speaker:I'm Heather masters and I'm on a journey to discover true happiness.
Speaker:Irrespective of what's happening outside of us.
Speaker:I explore what it is and how to choose more of it in your life.
Speaker:And the purpose right now is to help us through the Rocky times ahead.
Speaker:I had a profound experience last week in the three days while
Speaker:attending a beautifully curated workshop hosted by Sue Knight.
Speaker:And Romesh.
Speaker:I felt compelled to attend because I've been feeling particularly
Speaker:less than since Christmas.
Speaker:And I've been very aware that my old patterns, habits and beliefs haven't been
Speaker:supporting me well through this time.
Speaker:And it was time to do something different.
Speaker:To change that.
Speaker:Throughout December.
Speaker:I let go of many of my previously empowering habits, such as exercising
Speaker:in the morning, meditation drinking, lots of water, little things that
Speaker:have previously made a big difference.
Speaker:They just didn't feel right.
Speaker:Sticking to that structure.
Speaker:Didn't feel right through the close of 2021.
Speaker:And when I interviewed Sue in episode 29.
Speaker:I was really drawn to the concept of exploring.
Speaker:Who I want to be more of and what was getting in the way of that and what I
Speaker:would like my new story to be for 2022.
Speaker:My life and environment over the past few months had me living a
Speaker:very limited snapshot of reality.
Speaker:Living in the remotest village in England.
Speaker:Keeping myself locked away.
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:Engaging as much as I would've liked.
Speaker:My outlook had lost its expensiveness and openness to possibility.
Speaker:I think that may be a common theme.
Speaker:For many of us as we've gone through lockdowns during the pandemic.
Speaker:I have been aware of my tendency to make things more
Speaker:difficult than they need to be.
Speaker:Why make it easy, if you can complicate things.
Speaker:Why you use one word?
Speaker:If you can use 10.
Speaker:I . Was aware of my pattern for setting myself up for failure.
Speaker:Creating massive lists.
Speaker:Creating overwhelm in my own life.
Speaker:I wonder if you can relate in any way.
Speaker:During these strange and unusual times, my belief is that it's easier now than ever.
Speaker:To get caught up in limited thinking.
Speaker:I love Sue's advice.
Speaker:Stop it.
Speaker:one of the lessons that I took away from the training.
Speaker:There was so much that happened and occurred.
Speaker:During those three days, there was so much growth and learning and.
Speaker:Magic.
Speaker:That occurred.
Speaker:Observing others observing myself.
Speaker:Allowing stepping into that space.
Speaker:Of being so, so powerful.
Speaker:We're here.
Speaker:The three lessons I want to share today.
Speaker:Lesson number one.
Speaker:You can't analyze your way into being.
Speaker:And what I mean by that you can't analyze your way into being present.
Speaker:The act of analyzing.
Speaker:Takes you out of the present moment.
Speaker:You can't analyze your way into being yourself.
Speaker:Again, the analyzing introduces judgment and doubt.
Speaker:And one of the very powerful.
Speaker:Rules for spirituality for NLP for energy.
Speaker:Is that where you focus on.
Speaker:Is what you get, where you pay attention to.
Speaker:Is where your energy goes.
Speaker:So if you're paying attention to the problem.
Speaker:Or you're analyzing and asking.
Speaker:Critical questions about something that you've done automatically and inflow.
Speaker:You remove that flow.
Speaker:You can remove that.
Speaker:Inspired action.
Speaker:Lesson number two.
Speaker:And so the question being asked and notice any stories that get in the way.
Speaker:Changing a positive answer to a negative story or excuse.
Speaker:What are the stories that you tell yourself?
Speaker:What other excuses have you rehearsed so much that they
Speaker:automatically pop into your head?
Speaker:When you come to answer a question or.
Speaker:Are invited somewhere.
Speaker:Do you automatically come up with all of the reasons that you can't.
Speaker:I notice myself.
Speaker:Doing this.
Speaker:Especially, as I said earlier about.
Speaker:Traveling and being open.
Speaker:The opportunity to travel.
Speaker:I could come up with loads of reasons why I can't do that.
Speaker:And yet.
Speaker:When I've been forced to travel.
Speaker:My world has opened up.
Speaker:The engagement with the people I haven't seen in months, it's been.
Speaker:Wonderful.
Speaker:I noticed that I've really been restricting.
Speaker:My self sharing the energy.
Speaker:Of connectivity and communication and community.
Speaker:And that is the very thing.
Speaker:That will take us forward.
Speaker:Positively through these turbulent times.
Speaker:That connection, that human connection.
Speaker:At sharing.
Speaker:At positivity, but community.
Speaker:That rising above everything to realize that the whole of humanity.
Speaker:Once the same thing.
Speaker:Sovereignty.
Speaker:Peace.
Speaker:And a planet that thrives.
Speaker:Lesson three.
Speaker:Let go of the need to control and accept the perfection of your life unfolding.
Speaker:I've noticed that I'm even guilty of controlling the process of letting go.
Speaker:I don't know if you can.
Speaker:Relate to that in any way.
Speaker:I have a huge tendency to want to know what's next.
Speaker:The how of things.
Speaker:Let go of the, how for now the, how will unfold.
Speaker:Holding the vision of what you want and stepping into that with all of
Speaker:your energy and presence and knowing that it's aligned with your truths.
Speaker:That's the important path.
Speaker:How you get there that will unfold as he moved forward.
Speaker:During Sue's training.
Speaker:She invited guests.
Speaker:Who had transformed radically.
Speaker:During her previous week's training and.
Speaker:Over a period of time.
Speaker:But the common denominator.
Speaker:Between them all.
Speaker:Was the belief, the absolute belief in the vision they held for themselves.
Speaker:The ability to let go.
Speaker:Of the needing to know how.
Speaker:Just trusting that everything Would unfold.
Speaker:Perfectly.
Speaker:What are the three positive actions you can take now?
Speaker:Number one presuppose.
Speaker:You already have it.
Speaker:The outcome is already complete.
Speaker:That's going back to lesson three, about stepping into it.
Speaker:Absolutely embracing yourself in that energy of it being done.
Speaker:Not just visualizing it, but feeling that it's done, knowing that
Speaker:it's done to your very core, that the outcome is already complete.
Speaker:And your on a journey of unfolding.
Speaker:Number two, your power lies in the space between the stimulus and response.
Speaker:That's the space of choice.
Speaker:So, so powerful.
Speaker:Taking a pause rather than reacting.
Speaker:Tapping into your intuition, your guidance, taking a breath.
Speaker:Just practice, noticing a situation that you usually triggers you
Speaker:and how you usually respond.
Speaker:And find at least two other more positive ways you could respond.
Speaker:Explore.
Speaker:The outcomes from that.
Speaker:What, what results from YouTube?
Speaker:That.
Speaker:And notice the ripple effects.
Speaker:On the others around you.
Speaker:Because you respond differently.
Speaker:You interrupt your patterns, you create a new, more positive.
Speaker:Outcome.
Speaker:Number three and I think this is really.
Speaker:Valuable to do right now is identify in detail how you want to
Speaker:be, how you want your life to be.
Speaker:Identify the things that take you away from being in that
Speaker:state of living your truth.
Speaker:Being who you are.
Speaker:Stepping into your power.
Speaker:Identify more of the things that move you toward or support
Speaker:you in maintaining that state.
Speaker:So it's a daily practice.
Speaker:It's a daily new habit.
Speaker:Choose to do more of the latter.
Speaker:To maintain your state.
Speaker:Say no, or let go of the things that move you away.
Speaker:The friends that movie you way.
Speaker:The TV.
Speaker:The news.
Speaker:Media, whatever it is that moves you away.
Speaker:Choose less of it.
Speaker:Choose to focus on more of the things that keep you there, whether it's meditation.
Speaker:Whether it's just taking a moment to breathe.
Speaker:Into yourself into being who you truly are.
Speaker:If you'd played full-out and really engaged in these exercises.
Speaker:I am presupposing.
Speaker:You will have a difference-making outcome for yourself.
Speaker:And you'll notice the ripple effect for others.
Speaker:I know.
Speaker:I have.
Speaker:The biggest lesson, just be it.
Speaker:Be present, be it now and now, and now, and now.
Speaker:Just decide.
Speaker:Just stop it.
Speaker:When it comes to old patterns and just decide.
Speaker:To be that new, powerful version of yourself with the
Speaker:resilience and the humor.
Speaker:And the.
Speaker:Energy and the positivity.
Speaker:To achieve anything.
Speaker:I think a wise man once said, be the change you wish to see in the world.
Speaker:Give yourself the permission to learn to fall, to get up again, to dance,
Speaker:to sing out tune and to find your own unique note and expression of self.
Speaker:Go be it.
Speaker:Go be you.
Speaker:Thank you so much for taking the time to listen today.
Speaker:I'd be grateful if this was a value that you share it.
Speaker:And leave a review Thank you for listening.
Speaker:I'm Heather masters, and this is the choosing happy podcast.
