Shownotes

The crux of our discourse centers on the profound intersection of astrology and personal identity, particularly as it pertains to the experiences of individuals from marginalized communities. We delve into the complexities of astrological interpretations, emphasizing the necessity for rigorous testing of established beliefs and norms within the astrological community. I recount my own journey of reassessing the astrological charts of notable figures, such as Malcolm X and Michael Jackson, challenging prevailing narratives that have often gone unexamined. Additionally, we address the implications of race and identity within this sphere, highlighting the often unwelcoming nature of the astrology community towards those who dare to question its conventions. Through this dialogue, we aim to illuminate the importance of critical inquiry and authenticity in navigating both astrology and personal belief systems.

Takeaways:

  1. The discussion delves into the complexities of religious upbringing and cultural influences on personal beliefs.
  2. A significant focus is placed on the importance of rigorous testing of astrological principles and theories.
  3. We explore the notion that many astrologers do not engage in empirical testing of their craft.
  4. The podcast highlights the need for inclusivity and representation within the astrological community.
  5. Listeners are encouraged to question established astrological narratives and seek personal validation.
  6. The conversation emphasizes the shared human experience in the pursuit of truth and understanding in astrology.

Transcripts

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Claudia, did you want to ask Reese anything before we get out of here?

Speaker B:

No, I, I'm, I just want to thank you for your time.

Speaker B:

And I want to say that I've actually learned a lot.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna go Google the story of Job.

Speaker B:

I'm not super well versed in the Bible, but that comes with, like, the culture I grew up in.

Speaker B:

I mean, you know, I lived in a, in a communist island up until like the age of seven, so religion wasn't allowed.

Speaker B:

Religion wasn't allowed.

Speaker B:

Which is interesting.

Speaker B:

My moon and SAG kind of like repels it.

Speaker B:

But I'm very interested in it because, you know, when I came to this country, it was very much like, oh, you know, you pick up, you pick a political party and you pick a religion.

Speaker B:

You know, wow.

Speaker A:

Okay, I got it.

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker B:

But it's true.

Speaker B:

It's true.

Speaker B:

And so.

Speaker B:

But I never vibed with any of

Speaker A:

them in Miami, by the way.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I'm in Miami, Florida.

Speaker B:

I'm in the, in the melting pot of the entire United States, which is very heavy over here right now, but ground zero.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but astrology, like, did it for me.

Speaker B:

And you, everything that you said about how it made you feel, I felt the same exact way.

Speaker B:

And I actually have spoken to, I spoke to one astrologer and he actually told me that the astrology community was not very friendly.

Speaker B:

And I didn't believe him.

Speaker B:

You know, I didn't believe he was white, but I was just kind of like, well, that's weird, you know, because I thought the same thing.

Speaker B:

Like, astrologers should be high minded people.

Speaker B:

I mean, like, white.

Speaker B:

We do this.

Speaker B:

Like we have.

Speaker B:

You have to love astrology to do this, like, for real, you know?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I, that's why I got into it.

Speaker A:

And I also start seeing other things.

Speaker A:

Like when it came to black heroes, there were no black astrologers delineating those charts.

Speaker A:

The charts of Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, they'll tell you, oh, there are such a rising.

Speaker A:

You'll be like, okay.

Speaker A:

And you just flow with it because these are the elder astrologers who've been in tradition for years.

Speaker A:

But when I started testing those ascendants, I saw that they were wrong.

Speaker A:

I, I, you know, say my, my mentor rectified Malcolm X's chart to Scorpio ascended.

Speaker A:

And I went behind him and tested him.

Speaker A:

What he did versus what they said he was before a sag or Taurus rising and, or Malcolm's chart, you know, saying Martin's chart, you know, Saying same thing with Michael Jackson.

Speaker A:

And they tell you, oh, he's a Leo.

Speaker A:

He was a Pisces.

Speaker A:

But let me tell you something.

Speaker A:

Malcolm Jackson's head's going on fire, okay?

Speaker A:

And he died because of the medicine that they gave him, messed with his brain and his blood, right?

Speaker A:

So I'm just gonna give you a tidbit.

Speaker A:

Everybody was in the eighth place of his death, all right, in injury, and he burnt half of his face, and he always got surgery on his face, right?

Speaker A:

Did he not do this?

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

And so.

Speaker A:

And if you looked at his lifestyle, you put Virgo to descendants.

Speaker A:

Started looking when he did the Pepsi Cola commercial, when Thriller came out, when he had.

Speaker A:

When he built one of them, that Wonderland.

Speaker A:

Wonderland, all that kind of stuff.

Speaker A:

Virgo matches Virgo.

Speaker A:

And the progression from Virgo, the secondary progression from Virgo and the tertiary progression, okay?

Speaker A:

And the lunar progression from Virgo will show you that he's a Virgo at the ascendant, not a Leo rising, not a Pisces rising.

Speaker A:

So then I had to test, like, Whitney Houston, and I'm like, okay, Wendy's not a Capricorn rising.

Speaker A:

She's a sad riser.

Speaker A:

And so then I start putting out the rises from my study.

Speaker A:

Oh, I. Oh, my goodness.

Speaker A:

Like Barbra Strauss said, he was saying she was a Aries rising.

Speaker A:

I'm like, she's a sad.

Speaker A:

And, you know, back and forth, back and forth, because they hate.

Speaker A:

Like, if you go to celebrityash.com, like, who are this?

Speaker A:

How come no one ever questions these astrologers?

Speaker A:

No one ever put their work to the test.

Speaker A:

And if you do, you are you.

Speaker A:

You'll get a whole bunch of hate mail, okay?

Speaker A:

A bunch of haters or death threats, literally, because you're doing stuff like that.

Speaker A:

I think it's sad because we're all the same.

Speaker A:

If we were all race car drivers, I will tell you, okay?

Speaker A:

You're a race car driver.

Speaker A:

I got this new super super over there.

Speaker A:

I want you to test it because I want you to.

Speaker A:

I want you to let everybody know this is the fastest thing around.

Speaker A:

Don't take my word for it, right?

Speaker A:

We are the same.

Speaker A:

So it is.

Speaker A:

It is normal for contemporaries to test one another in the fields that they operate in.

Speaker A:

It is not just a.

Speaker A:

It's not just an ego thing.

Speaker A:

And so a lot of them take it very personally.

Speaker A:

And the racism comes out immediately because I'm a black man and I am intelligent, and I do know what the fuck I'm talking about with astrology.

Speaker A:

It's an exception to me and I test it.

Speaker A:

And I do a part of astrology.

Speaker A:

A lot of them don't do.

Speaker A:

I tested.

Speaker A:

That's the only difference for me.

Speaker A:

And 90 of the astrologers that I meet, they don't testing.

Speaker A:

They read a book they equate to their chart and a few charts of people they know.

Speaker A:

But they never test it.

Speaker A:

They never test to see when Mercury hits their ascendant.

Speaker A:

And it rules my third house.

Speaker A:

And it hits that first house cusp.

Speaker A:

By transit, all third house matters.

Speaker A:

Coming to the four.

Speaker A:

Yeah, true.

Speaker A:

If Mercury hits the seventh house in the transit or in the progress, and it rules by third house, a third house matters manifesting in my relationships.

Speaker A:

You saying they're not doing this at all?
