Unplugged1-1024x609

Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights,  and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1240 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Henry Ford, and it is, “If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person’s point of view and see things from that person’s angle as well as from your own.”

One Secret Of Success

The one secret of success is that there are really no secrets to becoming successful.  There are, though, certainly some practical steps and traits that will allow a person to gradually advance toward the success they desire.

One major factor of success that is lacking, especially in our highly politicized society, is the ability to get behind another person’s eyes and within another person’s mind to see his or her point of view on any particular subject. We need to understand that if we limit ourselves just to our point of view, we will never grow and mature as a person, and limit our ability to be successful.

We should seek to grow and understand others. To see life from their perspective. To allow their point of view to help to shape our decision making. This does not mean that you have to agree with or endorse that point of view, but allowing yourself to understand better where another person is coming from will help to solidify and substantiate your own worldview. Your success will be based on a wider understanding of others.

A mature person will know that you don’t have to agree with others in order to learn and grow from your interaction with others. When you have decisions to make, and are advancing towards success, get the point of view from others, see your situation from their perspective, then determine how you have meld them into your own plan for success. It is one secret of success.

Proverbs [13:13]

People who despise advice are asking for trouble; those who respect a command will succeed.
