Now over the years of working with thousands of clients, one of the things I see people struggle with the most is the ability to simply say no.
Now that might be internally or externally. It might be saying no to an unwanted thought, feelings, habit, or behaviour. Or it could be saying no to people that drain you of your time and energy. The kind of people that kind of sabotage you, hijack your time and energy by getting you to run to their own agenda, rather than you staying on track and focused on things that you want.
So, what I'm going to ask you today is, "Is there anything, or anybody that you could say no to in your life that would have a positive impact to you and your ability to be the best that you can be and achieve the life and the goals that you want?"
Now, there's quite a few reasons why people struggle to say no, it could be lack of confidence, it could be that your programmed to be a people pleaser, a trait that doesn't allow you to say no to people because the fear of letting them down, it could be because of a lack of clarity.
This is probably the single most important thing that you can do to help yourself, firstly get clear on what you actually want,
What do you want to accomplish?
What do you want to achieve?
How do you want to spend your time?
When you get clear on what direction you want your life to be taken, then it becomes easier to say no to the things that aren't moving you closer towards that. So that's my kind of encouragement for you today, stop, pause, and think about getting clarity on the life that you actually want.
Then you can start to think about what you can say no to, no more excuses, no more bad habits, no more procrastinating, no more wasting time getting lost online or getting sucked into social media, getting distracted from accomplishing, or utilizing your time in a more productive way.
Just stop, pause, look around your life and ask yourself, is there anything or anybody that I can say no to?
And then you can start to say yes to the things that you actually want in your life.
You can say yes to doing more of the actions, the habits, the behaviours that are going to move you closer towards the life, the goals that you actually want to be achieving.
So, there you go, that's your action step today. Take a couple of moments to think about what you can say no to, what you can then start saying yes to more and then go and make it happen.
Remember what your mind believes you will achieve, so think differently, believe yourself, take action and you can achieve the life that you want.
Now help yourself by just saying no more to the things that aren't adding value and helping you to make it happen.
