In this episode of the Daily Bible Podcast, the hosts reflect on their experiences during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. They recount the uncertainty and significant events like the NBA season cancellation. The conversation transitions to a discussion on Deuteronomy 3 and 4, exploring key themes of obedience, consequences of sin, and God’s jealousy for His glory. The episode also touches on the relevance of these biblical lessons today, particularly in guarding one's soul diligently. The hosts end with a Q&A segment addressing the concept of 'jealousy' as it applies to God and the demonic forces in ancient Egypt.

:What's happening, y'all?
3
:P.
4
:R.,
5
:do you know?
6
:I do.
7
:Granted, it was technically five
years ago yesterday, but do you
8
:remember where we were five years ago
yesterday, March 11th and March 12th?
9
:We were, things were falling out
very quickly from that point.
10
:March 11th and 12th,
five years ago yesterday.
11
:2020.
12
:Something happened in 2020.
13
:Oh, 2020.
14
:You said that and it got me.
15
:Okay.
16
:Yeah.
17
:Yeah.
18
:So I have, I'm looking at my
journal entries from that timeframe.
19
:I have.
20
:Oh, I have some pictures here.
21
:Yeah.
22
:It was a beautiful day that day.
23
:I can see that.
24
:I'm looking at the room that we met in.
25
:It was a nice room.
26
:We had dinner that night.
27
:Do you have a picture
from dinner that night?
28
:Our wives joined us all.
29
:I don't have it in my journal, but I
may have it in my photo catalog, but
30
:yeah, it was that was a beautiful day.
31
:I see.
32
:So we had lots of good snacks there.
33
:I see that.
34
:That was good.
35
:Yeah.
36
:What a time.
37
:Yeah.
38
:We were for those of you
wondering what, what's going on.
39
:And we were at our pastor's retreat,
our pastor summit, as it came
40
:to be known back in California.
41
:And we were all out to dinner and our
wives had joined us for dinner that night.
42
:And we were sitting around the table and
th,:
43
:NBA had canceled the rest of the regular
season due to the outbreak of COVID 19.
44
:And so as you're listening to this
today, which is as you're listening
45
:to it Wednesday March 12th, we were.
46
:In the office is trying to figure
out what we were going to do.
47
:Do we keep church open?
48
:What's happening?
49
:And at that point, I think we were still
planning on having church, but by that
50
:weekend we were, yeah, by that weekend,
I think everything was, I think we
51
:went online by that weekend, didn't we?
52
:I believe so.
53
:I can't recall other ones.
54
:I think that was what happened.
55
:I think we all decided this
was what everyone's doing.
56
:It's only prudent.
57
:We have to.
58
:Yeah.
59
:And that didn't last long.
60
:We figured out how we can meet
and we met outside, but yeah, but
61
:it was not, it was crazy, man.
62
:We had no clue what was coming,
no clue and thankfully it
63
:ended up being not nearly as.
64
:I remember our lead pastor at the
time was saying, Hey, we need to
65
:get ready to do mass funerals.
66
:We need to get ready to start
burying many people from this.
67
:Cause we didn't know what was
going to happen with COVID.
68
:And thankfully that didn't happen.
69
:I think we did lose people in our church.
70
:We had one or two that I can think of off
the top of my head who died as a result of
71
:complications from it, but complications
from yes, just a, It's just a crazy time.
72
:I'm thankful it's in the rear view mirror.
73
:It's amazing that it's
already five years ago.
74
:It feels like it's closer to it's
in more recent history than that.
75
:At least as I, I think back on it, I think
we're working hard to forget it, man.
76
:I would agree.
77
:I would agree.
78
:Yeah.
79
:It's just that popped up on my memories
as I was going through them yesterday.
80
:It was like, Hey, five years
ago today, somebody tweet.
81
:That's what it was.
82
:The NBA canceled their regular season.
83
:Oh yeah.
84
:Yeah.
85
:That was, I think we were having dinner
when they were leaving the floor.
86
:Yep.
87
:There was an NBA game happening
and people were, they were, the
88
:referees called the game off.
89
:Rudy go bear.
90
:He was patient zero in the NBA.
91
:Oh, wow.
92
:I don't know who that is.
93
:That's not surprising.
94
:But another name that I want
to shout out though, is Mike
95
:Sklemeny Mike, you are the man.
96
:He, so he heard the call.
97
:In fact, there's two names,
but Mike was the one who's
98
:the first one that came to me.
99
:I turned and said, Hey man, I
heard you want me to build a desk.
100
:I'll take care of that.
101
:That sounds fun.
102
:I could do that.
103
:I'll do it real quick this afternoon.
104
:So that afternoon came up to
the office, set up my desk.
105
:And this morning, Mike, I have
no idea how you move this thing.
106
:This thing is heavy.
107
:I was trying to try to
maneuver it to my corner.
108
:And the other desk is pretty
light, really easy to move around.
109
:But this one feels like
it's got some serious heft.
110
:So I don't know how this
guy turned it upward.
111
:But it was impressive as much.
112
:I came to your rescue.
113
:I heard you whimpering in there
and not able to lift a, yeah.
114
:And I was like, Hey,
pastor, I can help you.
115
:And I said please, I need
more than I have right now.
116
:And so I came in and you.
117
:Yeah.
118
:I did most of the lifting.
119
:You did.
120
:You picked it up with your own
two hands and you were sitting in
121
:the corner with your non alcoholic
Mai Tai and an umbrella in it.
122
:And you were watching me
do all the heavy lifting.
123
:Put it over there.
124
:Yeah.
125
:Servant boy.
126
:I think that's exactly how it went.
127
:If I remember correctly.
128
:Yeah.
129
:Yeah.
130
:Felt, felt like a lot like that,
that Mike Scalmini, thank you
131
:for putting it together, man.
132
:What a huge blessing.
133
:And Steve Marston.
134
:As Mike was putting it together, Steve
texted me and said, Hey, do you still
135
:have that desk to put us to put together?
136
:And I'm like, Oh dude, thank you so much.
137
:But Mike's already on it.
138
:So I love our church.
139
:I'm so grateful.
140
:I used it today.
141
:I was thankful for the desk.
142
:I was enjoying it.
143
:It's beautiful.
144
:I love it.
145
:Thank you guys for your help.
146
:They appreciate you have time.
147
:Yeah.
148
:Yeah.
149
:Steve worked that out.
150
:Cause he gets the heavenly
rewards of being willing to have
151
:the generous heart to serve.
152
:Yeah.
153
:But he didn't have to do the work.
154
:Didn't have to do the work.
155
:Yeah.
156
:Yeah.
157
:Yeah.
158
:Anyways, we were noodling each other
a little bit with that making fun
159
:of each other there and You sent me
that article about how apparently
160
:that's a sign of a good friend.
161
:That's somebody who is What was
the actual winning somebody who's
162
:willing to mock you to insult you?
163
:It's something like that Yeah, someone
who's just straight up making fun
164
:of you and saying bad things about
you and your family Yeah, that's
165
:a sign of real love and affection.
166
:I think that was in one
part of the Bible Yep.
167
:Couldn't remember the exact reference
in the Bible, but it was in there.
168
:Yeah.
169
:And I was like, Oh,
that's why we're so close.
170
:That's it.
171
:It's a term of endearment.
172
:It's a a mode of endearment
to just mock somebody.
173
:Yes.
174
:Yeah.
175
:That's great.
176
:Sure.
177
:That's how that works.
178
:So if you're out there and pastor
out, has never taken a shot at you,
179
:then he really doesn't care about you.
180
:Actually.
181
:Yeah, that's funny.
182
:If there is some truth to it.
183
:Obviously if you Are constantly making
fun of somebody and taking shots.
184
:It could reveal something much deeper.
185
:That's unhelpful.
186
:It could, but.
187
:It also could be
something playful and fun.
188
:And if someone's doing that to you,
it's probably because they care
189
:about you, they care about you.
190
:They trust you.
191
:Yeah.
192
:Yeah.
193
:Yeah.
194
:All right.
195
:Let's jump into our daily
Bible reading for today.
196
:Deuteronomy three and four.
197
:Deuteronomy three opens up reminders
of the defeat of Og and of a Reuben and
198
:Gad's agreement to cross over and fight
with their brothers before settling again
199
:there across the Jordan, the trans Jordan
these last two sections, chapter two.
200
:And the reminders about Sihon would and
then the reminders about Og here again
201
:are setting the table for the charge to
Joshua that's coming up in Deuteronomy
202
:chapter three, verses 21 through 22.
203
:This charge to Joshua is your
eyes have seen all the Lord your
204
:God has done to these two Kings.
205
:So will the Lord do to all the Kings
into which you are crossing the
206
:kingdoms into which you are crossing.
207
:So remember, God is setting this up.
208
:He's reminding them, he's giving
them these victories because this
209
:is what they're going to have to do.
210
:And so God is showing the people what
what waits for them across the Jordan
211
:river and what they're going to face.
212
:And he's reminding them, telling them,
Hey, as I've won these victories on
213
:this side of the Jordan, I'll win the
victories on that side of the Jordan.
214
:And so this would have been
an encouragement to them.
215
:And by the way, note in Deuteronomy
three, nine, it talks about the.
216
:I believe it's three nine.
217
:Is it three nine here?
218
:Maybe it's not.
219
:Sidonians call Hermon Sirion.
220
:Maybe it's three 19.
221
:Did I miss a one?
222
:Nope.
223
:He talks about the bed here of the
king and he says the bed, there it is.
224
:Verse 11.
225
:He says, for only Og the king of Bashan
was left to the remnant of the Rephaim.
226
:Behold, his bed was a bed of iron.
227
:The word for bed there
is probably more likely.
228
:A reference to a sarcophagus the
resting place would have been the idea
229
:there, but this is probably not his
actual bed, but a sarcophagus or the
230
:tomb into which his body was placed.
231
:And so it's referring to the death
of this King and his burial in this
232
:iron large sarcophagus that his body
would have been laid to rest in there.
233
:13 feet by nine feet.
234
:That's massive.
235
:That's a, that's huge.
236
:So what's the significance then
of it being a a resting place
237
:as opposed to a physical bed?
238
:It just yeah, no go ahead.
239
:Sorry.
240
:I was just going to say,
what's the biggest differences
241
:between those two things?
242
:If it isn't as bad which if it is
his bed, 13 feet by six feet would
243
:be, that's bigger than a King.
244
:But what does it mean
if it's a sarcophagus?
245
:I think it's just a reference to his
burial chamber rather than his bed.
246
:Cause it fits the context
a little bit better.
247
:It's talking about the defeat
and the death of this King.
248
:And so then all of a sudden to be
talking about his bed is a little
249
:bit of a strange non sequitur there.
250
:But if it is talking about his tomb,
the sarcophagus in which he was placed,
251
:then it makes a little bit more sense.
252
:Yeah.
253
:Also maybe explains the dimensions
a little bit more because I
254
:think, yeah, that's massive.
255
:That's huge.
256
:All right.
257
:So from here we go on for
Moses real quick here.
258
:One last attempt at getting a
pass to enter the promised land.
259
:Moses was like, God, please, can I please?
260
:And if you've got kids,
you know what this is like.
261
:You issue the punishment and maybe your
family's going out to ice cream that
262
:night and one kid's been disobedient.
263
:You're like, Hey you're,
you've forfeited your right.
264
:You're not going to get
any ice cream tonight.
265
:And then.
266
:You're at the counter and the kid's
dad, can I please the rest of the time?
267
:Dad, can I please earn it back?
268
:Can I get it?
269
:It's kind of Moses right here.
270
:He's God, please, can I go over there?
271
:Can I enter the promised land?
272
:And God again says no, and allows him
to see the promised land from Mount
273
:Pisgah there, Pisgah's mountain.
274
:And he reiterates to Moses though,
that Joshua was going to be the one to
275
:take the lead and take Possession of
the land with the head of the people,
276
:which tells us again, that sin has
reverberating effects and consequences
277
:that even if it is forgiven, which it
was for Moses, it does not negate or
278
:mitigate the extent or the depth of
the consequences that are incurred.
279
:are found because of it.
280
:Can God forgive very awful sin?
281
:Absolutely.
282
:Can God forgive the worst of sins that
you could conjure up in your mind?
283
:Yes.
284
:But boy, you don't want to
feel the consequences that
285
:come because of those things.
286
:You could still leave your family
and your life in shambles because
287
:of a stupid decision that you
make in the heat of passion.
288
:And instead of doing that, how about
just being obedient and trusting the
289
:Lord and not disqualifying yourself or
even inconveniencing yourself for years
290
:to come because of some bad decision
that you make when you're upset.
291
:Yeah.
292
:Yeah.
293
:And then it's on the heels of this that
when we find the charge to Israel in
294
:chapter four and it really is summed up
in chapter four verse one, now Israel
295
:listen to the statutes and the rules
that I'm teaching you and do them.
296
:And so listen and obey.
297
:That's something that we teach
our kids from the time that
298
:they're little and repeat.
299
:Over and over again, listen and obey.
300
:And that's the charge to Israel here.
301
:Listen and obey.
302
:And I think it's appropriate
following what we just read about
303
:with Moses saying, Hey God, can I go?
304
:Because that's what Moses failed to do.
305
:Moses did not listen well to what
the Lord had commanded him to do
306
:and certainly did not obey it.
307
:Maybe he listened, maybe he
heard, maybe even understood.
308
:And yet his actions betrayed.
309
:The opposite.
310
:He disobeyed God by striking that rock
rather than speaking to that rock.
311
:And he was going to
suffer the consequences.
312
:Moses is laying this out here in
chapter four, and he's wanting Israel
313
:to understand that they had a need to
listen and obey because if they didn't,
314
:then there were going to be consequences.
315
:He's going to charge them
in verses five through six.
316
:Listen to obey because you've
seen how it's been a safeguard
317
:to you when you didn't commit
the sin of bail worship at Peor.
318
:He's going to say you were preserved
because of your obedience there.
319
:Deuteronomy four, nine.
320
:He's going to say these words, take care.
321
:That's a recurring comment.
322
:Either take care, be
careful, or keep watch.
323
:And here it's over your soul diligently.
324
:And that again, building off what you
were just talking about, PR, that, that
325
:idea that we need to be careful not
to give ourselves over to sin because
326
:of the consequences involved there.
327
:We need to guard our souls.
328
:It's a Proverbs, right?
329
:Solomon says, keep guard your
heart for from it flow the
330
:springs of life that we do three.
331
:Yeah.
332
:Careful over over what we give
ourselves over to some similar idea
333
:here but listening and obeying,
that's what the reiterated theme
334
:is throughout chapter four here.
335
:Yeah, I really I keyed in on verse
nine because it's just so powerful.
336
:It speaks to us today as much as it
did to them yesterday, the last final
337
:years of their wandering the word for
diligently, keep your soul diligently
338
:means with your strength, your power is
a word that we've come across before.
339
:And it means like your veryness, the
very strength of your body, the very
340
:strength of your mind, use all of that to.
341
:Keep a diligent watch on your life.
342
:It sounds a lot like first Timothy chapter
four, keep a close watch on your life
343
:and your doctrine for for doing so we'll
say both yourself and your heroes is
344
:basically what Paul says, but he says this
to everybody as a means of saying, look,
345
:you have to make sure you don't forget.
346
:Notice that's what he says there.
347
:You don't want to forget what your eyes
have seen and depart from those things.
348
:Bless you forget, don't forget and
Christians, sometimes we can begrudge
349
:hearing faithful teaching because faithful
teaching is often teaching that reminds
350
:us of things that we already know.
351
:And that can be tedious and it can
feel like, man, do I really need this?
352
:Come on, give me something new or novel.
353
:And really what we need is to be
reminded of what we know so that we
354
:can cling to it and not forget it.
355
:This is what it means to
keep your soul diligently.
356
:And that's good.
357
:If you have that at your
church, that's a great blessing.
358
:Don't don't.
359
:Look down on that.
360
:That's a good thing.
361
:Yeah.
362
:Yeah.
363
:And noted versus 25 through 28,
that the main threat in judgment
364
:here is the threat of exile.
365
:He says, I call heaven and earth.
366
:Verse 26 to witness against you today that
you will utterly perish from the land that
367
:you were going over the Jordan to possess.
368
:Remember the land was part of the
Abrahamic covenant promise here.
369
:You won't live long in it.
370
:In verse 27, the Lord will
scatter you among the peoples and
371
:you will be left few in number.
372
:So God laid out the parameters here.
373
:When this is going to
happen in spoiler alert.
374
:It's going to happen.
375
:This is not going to be a shock
all the way back here, right on
376
:the doorstep of the promise land.
377
:God is laying out to the people saying,
this is the consequence that will happen.
378
:If you disobey, if you do not
keep these commandments, you
379
:can't expect to keep the land.
380
:You're going to be sent into exile.
381
:And we're going to unfortunately
see that's going to come to
382
:fruition later on, as we study
through the times of the Kings.
383
:How is it possible in verse
24 that God is jealous?
384
:Every time we talk about someone being
jealous, it's never in a positive sense.
385
:So how is it possible to apply this to
God that he's jealous of consuming fire?
386
:Yeah, he's jealous for his glory and
he has to be, because if God has a, his
387
:any category in which he might render
glory to someone other than himself and.
388
:Excluding the Trinitarian concept of the
fact that as we've seen in John 17, Jesus
389
:is praying, father, glorify your son.
390
:But outside of the Trinity, if God
has a category to glorify anyone other
391
:than himself, then he is in effect
worshiping something other than himself.
392
:And by definition of being God,
he is worthy of All worship, all
393
:glory, all honor, all exaltation.
394
:And so God has to be jealous for
his own glory because that's part
395
:and parcel with him being God.
396
:He's the only one really that we
could say is jealous for that.
397
:However, there, there are other ways
that we can be jealous in a good way.
398
:We should be jealous for the
affections of our spouse.
399
:If you're married, you should be jealous
for the affections of your spouse.
400
:That's Good thing.
401
:That's a God honoring thing for
the two of you to be committed
402
:to one another in that.
403
:But as far as jealousy goes, as the
world conceives of jealousy, yeah
404
:it's usually not a good thing, but
here it is a good thing because
405
:God is being jealous for his glory.
406
:Can you define jealousy then?
407
:Because the word itself conveys in our
current vernacular, the word itself is
408
:automatically a negative connotation.
409
:Yeah.
410
:If you were saying, man,
I'm jealous for my spouse.
411
:No one who's not a Christian
who knows their Bible is going
412
:to say, Oh that's fantastic.
413
:They're going to say dude, are you okay?
414
:Maybe you need some
therapy and counseling.
415
:So when you say jealousy, when we
see it here in scripture, can you
416
:give us an understanding that is
not a secular based understanding?
417
:Yeah, I'd say it's a,
almost a passionate desire.
418
:There's another word that sounds
similar and that's zealous.
419
:That when we are zealous for
something, we have a passion for it.
420
:We have a drive for it.
421
:We have a desire for it.
422
:And I think when that desire is on
the right thing, it's a good thing.
423
:When that desire is misplaced,
then it becomes a bad thing.
424
:And if that desire is we're jealous for
our spouse because The Christ exalting
425
:picture of a marriage is for a husband
and wife to be committed to one another
426
:in a biblical way, then that is a zeal.
427
:That's a passion.
428
:That's a jealousy that
ultimately serves to glorify God.
429
:That's a passion that
is for the glory of God.
430
:But if I'm jealous because I'm looking
at everybody else with a side eye and I'm
431
:skeptical of every other guy that walks by
and I'm angry at every other guy presuming
432
:upon them things that maybe they're not.
433
:Even thinking or doing or saying or
anything else, that's a sinful jealousy.
434
:That's an insecure jealousy.
435
:That's a self motivated jealousy.
436
:And so jealousy for the
sake of God is a good thing.
437
:Jealousy for the sake
of self is a bad thing.
438
:So just real quick, I don't want
to pound the drum too hard, but let
439
:me just identify a couple of the
definitions that are first to pop up.
440
:One of them is feeling or
showing envy of someone or their
441
:achievements and advantages.
442
:Is that what we're talking about?
443
:Nope.
444
:That's a bad thing.
445
:Here's another one.
446
:Feeling or showing.
447
:Suspicion for someone's unfaithfulness
in a relationship is that we're
448
:talking about a bad thing.
449
:Okay.
450
:Here's the third one that
I think might be helpful.
451
:And there's actually a fourth
that could also fit to fiercely
452
:protective or vigilant of one's
rights or possessions, right?
453
:Yes.
454
:That's what we're talking about.
455
:This is third level.
456
:That was a.
457
:third one down.
458
:So all the definitions that we're
trying to get to are layered below
459
:how most people understand the word.
460
:The third one is of God, demanding
faithfulness and exclusive worship.
461
:So the third and the fourth
are what we're getting at here.
462
:It is fiercely protective.
463
:It is a right, fierce protection.
464
:It is right to fiercely protect your wife.
465
:But when we talk about envy or
suspicion, we're not saying that.
466
:Please don't be that way with your wife.
467
:Don't be that way with anybody.
468
:Don't be that way with
your husband, your kids.
469
:There is a fierce protection.
470
:That's good, but envy suspicion.
471
:That's not what we're talking about.
472
:Exactly.
473
:Yeah.
474
:Yeah.
475
:And because God is a jealous God,
a God jealous for his own glory,
476
:that's why the threat of exile is
there, but also he's a merciful God.
477
:And that's why there's a,
an offer for restoration.
478
:There's this great ending section in
verses 32 through 38 there where he's
479
:saying, who is like me, who's like the
Lord, who's like Yahweh, what God has
480
:done, what I've done for his people.
481
:And again, a motivation to consider that.
482
:To drive us towards obedience.
483
:And that's so good too.
484
:As we think about listening and obeying
here, God is in part motivating the
485
:obedience of the people, Israel by
saying what God has done for his people.
486
:What I've done for you consider all of
the blessings and good things that have
487
:done for you as fuel for why you should
listen and obey, and that's in part us
488
:with the cross, looking back at that
and the empty tomb and saying, wow,
489
:because of everything that God has done
for me, I desire to listen and obey.
490
:to him because I love
him for what he's done.
491
:I'm not trying to pay him back.
492
:I'm not trying to make up for what
he didn't do already, but man, I love
493
:him because of what he's done for me.
494
:And so I want to obey him.
495
:I want to listen to him
because of those things.
496
:Yeah.
497
:And on top of that verse 39 here says
that God in heaven and above the earth
498
:is the only one, there is no other God.
499
:In addition to him being the
kind of God who loves us.
500
:He's the only God who exists, right?
501
:He's the only one there.
502
:And so he's telling his children.
503
:Please don't be deceived by these
idols Don't be deceived by the
504
:people that you're about to invade.
505
:They're worshiping all these different
demonic forces But there's only
506
:one God and so you would do well to
serve that God even though it's true.
507
:He is loving It's also true that there
is no other there's no one else to
508
:serve or worship This is the only God.
509
:Yeah.
510
:Let's end with a question from somebody
that was not submitted on the email,
511
:but was actually asked in person.
512
:I was interacting with somebody this
weekend and they asked a question.
513
:Oh, this is interesting about the
comment that was made and it was,
514
:it's almost like an offhand comment.
515
:I can't even remember
exactly where it's made here.
516
:Oh yeah.
517
:What did you say?
518
:But yes, no God did.
519
:But it was the comment that said.
520
:It was talking about the exodus
and it said, and also judged
521
:the gods of Egypt as well.
522
:Yeah.
523
:Yeah.
524
:So we talked about that.
525
:Did we talk about that on the podcast?
526
:Pretty sure.
527
:I recall talking about it.
528
:I thought we did.
529
:Maybe we did.
530
:Anyways, we could revisit it again
but specifically you mentioned
531
:there are no other gods, but
there's these demonic forces, right?
532
:Yes.
533
:So maybe in connection to
that, how the exodus was.
534
:It judging the demonic
forces there in Egypt.
535
:Oh, yeah, there are a billion perhaps
trillions upon trillions of lowercase g
536
:guts The Bible is perfectly okay using
the term Elohim Which is the word for
537
:God to describe the different kind of
spiritual forces that exist outside of
538
:God himself capital G the difference
is of course, there's only one true
539
:God that's worthy of our worship and
worthy of adoration There's only one
540
:right God to worship because there's
only one true God who's all powerful
541
:all knowing all the omnis that we talked
about God But when it comes to lowercase
542
:g gods, there's infinite numbers.
543
:I mean you could go to the Hindu
religion And you could talk to all
544
:the different pantheon of gods and
you could say, yeah, those are gods.
545
:Those are lowercase g gods.
546
:And I have no problem
using that terminology.
547
:So we would say, yes regarding the
Egyptians, all of the plagues were
548
:meant to combat And to showcase
the superiority of Yahweh over
549
:the pantheon of Egyptian gods.
550
:And so there's a bit of a, there is
consensus that when God is issuing the
551
:plagues, they are saying, look, Oh,
you think your God happy is in control?
552
:Nope.
553
:Here you go.
554
:Here's the frogs happy deal with that.
555
:Can't deal with that.
556
:Oh, what a surprise.
557
:That's because you're not God.
558
:I am that kind of thing.
559
:He does that 10 times over to showcase
that he's the one who's the one true God.
560
:And that's really the point.
561
:There are multiple lowercase G gods, but
there's only one true uppercase G God.
562
:Great, that's a good answer.
563
:Yeah.
564
:Lemme pray and then we'll
be done with this episode.
565
:God, we are grateful that we do know
the one true God in the face of all
566
:the others, and that we do not, don't
live in the same pantheistic culture.
567
:We, we, as pastor was just saying, have
maybe neighbors who do live in that realm,
568
:in that world, or certainly we can look
around and see that there are gods of
569
:materialism and wealth and fame and all of
these things around us that certainly are,
570
:have demonic forces behind them as well.
571
:And we don't wanna turn a blind
eye to that and think that we
572
:are somehow insulated from.
573
:And that because we live in America
and we've evolved past these things,
574
:we want to be aware of just the
spiritual warfare that's present,
575
:the darkness that's out there.
576
:And we want to be all the more committed
to you as Moses was calling the
577
:people of Israel to listen and obey.
578
:We want to guard our souls and keep
our hearts and be careful about it.
579
:And we thank you for your word that
we can look to say, how do we do
580
:that by looking to your word, even
as we'll talk about tomorrow as
581
:we get into chapter six as well.
582
:So we thank you so much for this.
583
:We pray all this in Jesus name.

:Amen.
