This weekend on the Around the House show, we’re diving into the nitty-gritty of home improvement like a couple of pros who’ve had one too many cups of coffee. Eric G and John Dudley are ready to spill the beans on their best-kept secrets for saving you some serious dough on your next renovation project. You know, the kind of tips that make you feel like you’re practically stealing from the home improvement store. As the seasons change, so do the prices, and let’s be real—nobody wants to pay more for the same old lumber. So, we’re going to tackle what’s happening in the market right now and how you can outsmart those creeping costs. Spoiler alert: it involves a lot of smart planning and maybe a little bit of luck. And if you’re feeling like DIY is your calling, just remember that you can’t put a price on a well-placed nail—or can you?
In the second hour, get ready for some tool talk that would make any DIY enthusiast’s heart skip a beat. Eric G and John will chat about their top picks for tools that can turn your average Joe into a home renovation superhero. You might think you can skimp on those fancy blades or that power drill, but trust me, you don’t want to be that person cursing at a cheap tool while your project falls apart. We’ll share our horror stories about the time we tried to save a few bucks and ended up regretting it. But hey, if you enjoy bending blades and cursing at your equipment, then by all means, keep doing you!
And let’s not forget about the laughs along the way—because what’s home improvement without a few giggles and maybe some eye-rolling at the absurdity of it all? So tune in and let’s navigate through the chaos of home maintenance together. We’ll keep you entertained, informed, and maybe just a tad bit inspired to tackle that project you’ve been putting off. After all, who wouldn’t want to listen to a couple of guys dodging rogue ladders and sharing questionable DIY advice? Catch us this Saturday, and remember to keep your hammers swinging and your Wi-Fi strong!

Speaker B:Yeah, great for electricians cutting into, cutting in an outlet into a hardwood panel or something like that.
Speaker B:Great to get in and do that kind of stuff with.
Speaker B:But what I like too is just flush cutting.
Speaker B:Like even if you had to cut off a, a redhead bolt in concrete, you put the metal blade on and flush with the concrete and smooth it out right there and you're good as gold.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Way better than bending four Sawzall blades to try to get.
Speaker B:Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, don't get me started on that.
Speaker B:And then of course, if the Sawzall blade is, it's cutting and you're trying.
