Speaker A:

I just let go. I stop trying. I stop doing anything. But that's not surrender. That's giving up. You want to trust God. You want to surrender.

But deep down you're wondering, what does that even mean for my life right now? Do I keep going? Do I stop? Am I doing too much or not enough? Today, I'm breaking down.

What surrender truly means, what it actually looks like, and what you're supposed to do. If you're feeling the nudge to surrender or you're new to surrendering, this episode is for you. Grab your Bible, lean in, and let's do this.

If you're tired of feeling unsure about your purpose because you don't know how to hear God clearly and you want simple, faith rooted steps to discern his will and move forward with confidence, you're in the right place. I'm Michelle Cradle Catholic, mom of three and a discernment coach for Catholic women.

I learned how to move from confusion and overthinking to hearing God's voice clearly and moving forward with confidence in his will. If you're ready to grow closer, begin discovering how God uniquely made you and experience mindset transformation.

Grab that laundry, pop in those earbuds and let's do this.

If you've been wanting to understand God's plan for your life, but it feels overwhelming or unclear where to even begin, I want to simplify this for you. You don't need hours of free time. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start.

And and you don't need to keep trying to piece this together on your own. Discernment doesn't have to be complicated. What most women are missing isn't the effort. It's a clear, faith rooted process to follow.

That's exactly what I guide you through in a discernment coaching session in our one to one time together.

I'll walk you through a simple, structured way to begin discerning God's will using what he's already placed in your life, your experiences, your desires, and the way that he may already be moving, you don't leave with more to figure out. You leave with a clear next step.

This is designed to meet you right where you are in your current season of motherhood, your current schedule, your life. If you've been overthinking this or putting it off because it just feels too much, this is your invitation to take one simple step forward.

Lately I've been hearing this question come up a lot. How do you surrender? I don't know what to do. If I surrender, do I just stop doing things?

And I get that question because I've been there too. When I tried to figure out my purpose. I remember hearing about surrendering to God, surrendering my plans, my future.

And I thought, okay, but what does that actually mean? No one really explained what that looked like in real life. And what I've come to realize is surrendering is not a one time moment. It's a process.

And honestly, I'm still working on it, even right now. Just a couple days ago, I got some hard news about my dog, Ellie. Her lab results came back and her kidney levels are not looking good.

The vet told me realistically we may be looking at one to three months and that's hard. But in that moment, I found myself coming back to the idea of surrender. What does it actually mean for me right now in this situation?

Because we all have different things. We're asked to surrender. For me right now, it's Ellie. For you, it may be your future, your purpose, your family, something you're walking through.

So let's really talk about this, what surrender actually is and what you do when you surrender to God. So one of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to surrendering and what it means is I just let go. I stop trying, I stop doing anything.

But that's not surrender, that's giving up. So surrendering is trusting God without losing hope. It's continuing to persevere, but no longer from a place of control.

It's saying, God, I trust you, even though I don't understand. And with Ellie, I'm not giving up on her. I'm doing everything I can, but I'm surrendering the outcome to God. And that's the key.

You don't give up effort, you give up control. This was something that became really clear for me recently. The other day I had my Bible open and this verse just stood out to me.

the future. That is Proverbs:

But as I'm walking through the situation with Ellie, it clicked. God was showing me, keep moving forward, listen, follow instruction.

For me, that looks like listening to the vet, giving her these supplements, monitoring her eating and reach out when something changes. And that's not doing nothing. That's faithful action. And this ties so beautifully to what Mary says. Do whatever he tells you. That is in John 2. 5.

That is surrender. You pray, you listen, and then you actually do what God is asking of you.

Now, I want to touch on a little bit of something that we do not talk enough about. When you're trying to surrender, your mind will get attacked. You'll start hearing thoughts like, God isn't going to come through. This isn't working.

Why even try? This is not from God the enemy. He wants to steal your trust, steal your hope, steal your joy.

And if you're not aware of that, you'll start believing those thoughts. That's why your mindset really matters so much. Because when I got Ellie's results, I had to intentionally go back to the tools that I've learned.

I had to choose what. What am I going to focus on? What was I going to believe and how was I going to respond? Because surrender is not passive. It's active internally.

You have to re anchor ourselves in truth daily. So surrender starts with something simple, saying to God in prayer, God, I surrender this to you. But it doesn't stop there.

It continues through prayer, scripture, and daily action. And God tells us, commit your way to the Lord. Trust in him and he will act. That is in Psalm 37. 5.

That verse is so powerful because it shows you both sides. You commit, you trust, God, acts. So what does that look practically? A simple step that you can take is take that verse, Psalm 37.

5, And read it every day for a week and just let it sink in. Because what you repeatedly think shapes your beliefs, your emotions, your actions, and your subconscious. It will begin to align with truth.

So instead of reacting in fear, you respond in truth. And here's what I want you to remember. As God is moving, you keep moving, too. Surrender doesn't pause your life. It aligns life with God.

So if you've been asking, if I surrender, do I stop doing things? No, you don't stop. You trust without giving up. You take action with God leading. Guard your mindset. Stay anchored in truth daily.

That's what surrender looks like. And as you're walking away from today's episode, I want you to remember this. Surrender is not about doing less. It's about.

It's about doing things differently. It's shifting from control to trust, from fear to faith, confusion to clarity. With God leading you, you're still showing up.

You're still taking action, but now you're doing it with God and that changes everything. Let us take this to prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. God, I surrender everything to you.

My plans, my fears, the things I don't understand. Guide me, lead me, help me to trust you and give me the strength to keep moving forward in faith. Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Now let's take this from head to heart, knowing this is powerful, but that real change happens when you take action, even one small step.

Here's something simple that you can start with today. Grab your Bible and go to Psalms 37. 5. Read that verse every day for the next week. Let God's truth guide you. Let it ground you.

Let it remind you what it means to trust him and follow his lead.
