In this episode 7 of The 411 Live podcast, Dr. Kweku Akyirefi Ramel Smith President of Blacksmith Consulting and Jolanda Rodgers, founder of Talk Consulting continue the discussion on how Trauma is used as a manipulative and tactical tool by traffickers. No matter what, it needs to be something we talk about.
We break down and look at the different levels of trauma and the way it can manifest itself. Even uprising from a time victims didn’t even know that they were experiencing trauma.
Dr. Smith goes on to explain the difference between physical and mental trauma and how these things can affect everyone differently. Jolanda also explains the different triggers victims may have. She states, “Even with family and friends having the best intentions when helping a victim, it can be simple things that trigger their traumatic experience.”
