She got the job.
Heather:The one she'd studied for qualified for sacrificed time with her children
Heather:full invested heavily for yay.
Heather:Yet the.
Heather:Yay was brief.
Heather:Two months in and she realized it.
Heather:Wasn't how she'd pictured it.
Heather:She wasn't feeling how she wanted to feel.
Heather:She blamed herself.
Heather:She should be happy.
Heather:After all she got the job, the dream job, the hairy, scary goal job.
Heather:Yay.
Heather:Have you ever had the experience in your life where you've worked
Heather:really hard and made the sacrifices?
Heather:Don't all of the things got the prize celebrated with friends and
Heather:bubbles, and then it's been a bit of a disappointment, a dumped squared.
Heather:Uh, fact, you might have felt a bit ashamed to admit it and kept your
Heather:disappointment hidden for months.
Heather:Yes.
Heather:Decades even.
Heather:And worse still.
Heather:This could be playing out in many areas of our lives, work
Heather:relationships, social lives.
Heather:We may have trapped ourselves and settle land.
Heather:And this week's episode of the choosing happy podcast.
Heather:We explore beliefs, values, expectations, and some truths about happiness.
Heather:That if we just allowed ourselves to acknowledge, we could make
Heather:life a lot easier for ourselves.
Heather:All of this and more in this week's choosing happy podcast.
Heather:Hello, and welcome to the choosing happy podcast.
Heather:I'm Heather masters.
Heather:And in this week's episode, I'm going deep on the misconceptions of happiness.
Heather:What exactly is happiness?
Heather:And just the pursuit of happiness really lead us to happiness.
Heather:Here are some questions to ask yourself:
Heather:Will you be happy when you solve all of your problems?
Heather:Is the pursuit.
Heather:Of meaning more important than happiness.
Heather:Is happiness, the real end results.
Heather:Or is the pursuit where happiness lies.
Heather:Will you be able to choose happiness when you're in the midst of a
Heather:storm that life has thrown at you?
Heather:For there's usually many in a lifetime.
Heather:Some Morpheus and others.
Heather:Will you be resilient enough to hold a level of happiness?
Heather:Will you allow yourself to be happy, give yourself permission to be happy,
Heather:allow happiness to be your set point.
Heather:Even when things are dire.
Heather:And I don't mean pretend happy or frivolity.
Heather:It's the ability to be childlike rather than childish to see the
Heather:wonder, even in the darkness.
Heather:And the world of reaching for perfect.
Heather:And following trends that are set out for us using the media
Heather:and government narrative.
Heather:We can overlook our ability to choose what is truly for us.
Heather:To forget the notion of selfishness and to indulge ourselves in our true nature.
Heather:To sit and the energy of our beingness and notice that amongst
Heather:the horrors and the false, this.
Heather:The lies and the terror, the world would have a C.
Heather:There is beauty piece.
Heather:Surprise wonder.
Heather:Curiosity and magic right outside our doors.
Heather:If we look close enough.
Heather:The resilient flower that bursts through the concrete.
Heather:The solitary bird.
Heather:That sings at Dawn.
Heather:So his happiness about success and achieving.
Heather:Or is it about.
Heather:Being.
Heather:Is it a state?
Heather:Is it about appreciating the journey and acknowledging that the journey will
Heather:throw us challenges and hard stuff.
Heather:Yeah, recognizing it.
Heather:Isn't the struggles and the resistance where the magic is made.
Heather:Where the lead is changed to gold.
Heather:We're growth takes place where memories are made and where we astound
Heather:ourselves with what we can achieve and how powerful we really are.
Heather:It to seize.
Heather:This is to recognize that happiness is not something we strive for.
Heather:But as something to choose in the harshness of our journey.
Heather:Not just to lighten the load.
Heather:But to raise our energy.
Heather:Our spirits Our vibration, our strengths.
Heather:I sense, we need this more now than ever.
Heather:As we're in the midst of unique and unprecedented times.
Heather:When resilience and the ability to see the good, the positive.
Heather:The end goals.
Heather:While being present to the magic of the moment.
Heather:Amidst.
Heather:Drama and horror.
Heather:We'll be the key.
Heather:For God's smiling gladiators.
Heather:We must stand and maintain our light.
Heather:And sense of love and our power.
Heather:No matter what happens.
Heather:Jordon Peterson's definition of happiness.
Heather:Happiness.
Heather:It's the freedom from fear, stress, and anxiety.
Heather:Yeah, right now, we are seemingly trapped in a world
Heather:which strives by promoting fear.
Heather:How can you eliminate fear in your life?
Heather:Mainly switching off the mainstream media and the news and choosing really
Heather:choosing where you put your focus.
Heather:Can I make a massive difference to how much happiness you experience in your day?
Heather:I found that I've had an almost controlled guilt that if I'm not feeling worried
Heather:or stress than I'm not really living.
Heather:And I take this back to something.
Heather:My father said to me, when I really first experienced stress.
Heather:At work.
Heather:He said that I was now a true adults.
Heather:Because I was experiencing stress and I've been stressed ever since.
Heather:Trying to live up to being a true adults.
Heather:It's only recently that I've had some huge realizations around happiness and
Heather:also about stress, anxiety, and fear.
Heather:Fear is dished out daily.
Heather:Your governments.
Heather:The organizations in the world.
Heather:Want to keep us in fear.
Heather:If we're in fear.
Heather:We buy.
Heather:We purchase.
Heather:We try to protect ourselves with the products they sell us that
Heather:tell us that we're going to be.
Heather:Healthier.
Heather:We're going to be safer.
Heather:We're going to be happier.
Heather:All of this.
Heather:Takes away from the powerful.
Heather:Beings we are.
Heather:That we have our own set points, our own definitions of happiness.
Heather:We know how to be happy.
Heather:When we step away from the fear.
Heather:When we step away from the shirts and the Kurds.
Heather:When we step away from the false narratives that we even tell ourselves.
Heather:We have an opportunity.
Heather:To be happy.
Heather:It's a meaningful life.
Heather:Something better to strive for then a happy life.
Heather:After experiencing grief and depression.
Heather:At a number of times when things have changed drastically in my life.
Heather:One of the things that I know that's true for me.
Heather:Is.
Heather:The taking part.
Heather:The showing up.
Heather:The serving other people, the stepping outside.
Heather:The keeping moving.
Heather:The finding the meaning in each day, each hour, each moment.
Heather:That's part of what's really helped me grow and build my resilience in my life.
Heather:I think.
Heather:Parts.
Heather:Of the reason.
Heather:We're unhappy in general, . Is that we don't take the time to work
Heather:out what we really want anyway.
Heather:What kind of conditioned to want the things.
Heather:And even when we don't want the things and we want to move somewhere different.
Heather:It's not quite what we expect . The thing is you take yourself with you.
Heather:And I personally believe.
Heather:So you can't be happy anywhere.
Heather:Until you've shifted and grown within yourself and works out
Heather:what happiness is for you.
Heather:And that you are the creator of your reality.
Heather:I think happiness can be in any moment.
Heather:If we choose it.
Heather:And I'm not saying that we choose it a hundred percent of the time.
Heather:I don't think that.
Heather:Can be true.
Heather:We all have moments of darkness, of sadness, of anger.
Heather:But it's how we deal with them.
Heather:That really can impact.
Heather:How we show up and and whether we choose.
Heather:A higher response.
Heather:And personality questionnaires and the neuro-linguistic programming.
Heather:We find out what our values are by asking what's important to us.
Heather:Uh, values.
Heather:Aren't always obvious.
Heather:They're quite unconscious.
Heather:So where you think.
Heather:Is important to you, what you think you want in your life.
Heather:That's going to make you happy.
Heather:May not be that at all.
Heather:And there's probably patterns in your life where you think you can be happy.
Heather:And you go for the same thing.
Heather:And you can create a pattern of it, but then.
Heather:You leave and you blame.
Heather:The circumstances you blame the employer, you blame the partner.
Heather:But if you look back at the pattern.
Heather:It might not be that at all.
Heather:It might.
Heather:But it might not be that at all.
Heather:The meta-programs in neuro-linguistic programming.
Heather:Or even deeper.
Heather:Unconscious conditions that we have for ourselves.
Heather:That are specific to a unique personality and I need unique
Heather:perspective on the world.
Heather:So for instance, one of the meta-programs that I know I have is that.
Heather:I'm a differences person.
Heather:There's differences in sameness.
Heather:Sameness.
Heather:Obviously our people who want everything to remain the same.
Heather:And because of that, they struggle with change.
Heather:Now I'm quite a differences person.
Heather:So I became a consultant quite early in my career because.
Heather:My role would change.
Heather:My job changed.
Heather:It's one of the things I really liked about being in technology in it is that
Heather:I was working on different projects.
Heather:So I could be really content.
Heather:Because the work changed on a regular basis.
Heather:When I took admin jobs later in life.
Heather:I really struggled with those because things were.
Heather:Quite repetitive.
Heather:Pretty much the same.
Heather:And even working from home, I find I'm changing the furniture around.
Heather:Two or three times a year.
Heather:Or finding other places to work because the environment is important
Heather:and changing that around helps.
Heather:I keep my differences condition happy.
Heather:And it doesn't have to be something massive.
Heather:Your meta-programs and.
Heather:Your values are really quite crucial to your happiness.
Heather:To what you believe.
Heather:It's.
Heather:To fulfilling your needs at an unconscious level.
Heather:If your top four values aren't met, you will likely . Leave or do something.
Heather:To get those values met.
Heather:So for instance, If being with your family is.
Heather:Really important to you and it's in your top four.
Heather:Values.
Heather:Working overtime working.
Heather:We cans.
Heather:Committing to a job that demands a lot of you.
Heather:It's going to make you really pretty unhappy because it's against.
Heather:One of your core values.
Heather:One of the things about money.
Heather:Some entrepreneurs can.
Heather:with their relationship with money.
Heather:And we can put it down to a money mindset, your beliefs about money, but
Heather:your values are deeper than your beliefs.
Heather:And if money isn't in your top eight values.
Heather:As an entrepreneur or business owner.
Heather:You're likely to struggle if there are so many things that are more
Heather:important to your happiness than money.
Heather:You're probably not going to.
Heather:Want to sell so much.
Heather:So what's important to you and what your meta-programs are, can make a huge impact.
Heather:On whether you are happy on that.
Heather:This podcast is called, choosing happy.
Heather:It's easier to choose happy.
Heather:If you're aware of what your meta-programs are.
Heather:And what your values are.
Heather:Can you change your values?
Heather:Yes, you can.
Heather:that comes with a caveat of, if it's not really true for you.
Heather:At a deep, deep level.
Heather:they could Change back again.
Heather:Understanding.
Heather:A little bit about yourself.
Heather:Understanding what's made you happy in the past.
Heather:Understanding what's important to you.
Heather:Is really crucial.
Heather:To understanding.
Heather:Your happiness criteria You can also work out what you really want.
Heather:Using intuitive.
Heather:Coaching.
Heather:And meditation.
Heather:This year I completed the search costs and William White A series of natural success.
Heather:And using intuition.
Heather:To work out.
Heather:What you really truly wants.
Heather:Is.
Heather:Amazingly powerful.
Heather:Because in doing that.
Heather:Your.
Heather:Uncovering your heart's desire.
Heather:You're uncovering a world and a life where you will be truly happy.
Heather:And the focus of William's work is about focusing on the end results.
Heather:And at the same time being present.
Heather:Being happy with not knowing.
Heather:Being in the moment, just taking the next step that you've intuited.
Heather:It's about embracing the journey and face of adversity.
Heather:It's about embracing the tension and recognizing that
Heather:the tension, the hard stuff.
Heather:Is there to help you grow?
Heather:As I said earlier, it's where lattice changed into gold.
Heather:The ability to sit with the tension.
Heather:And absolutely know that you're going to reach your end results anyway.
Heather:And to take the action.
Heather:The one step.
Heather:That's.
Heather:You intuited to take today.
Heather:Without knowing.
Heather:While being happy, not knowing.
Heather:What's going to happen.
Heather:When you take that step.
Heather:I suppose ultimately.
Heather:It's about a connection to source.
Heather:Happiness is the ability to let go of anxiety, stress, and fear.
Heather:Most often.
Heather:We do this.
Heather:When we align with spirit, when we align with a God.
Heather:When we align with something greater than us.
Heather:In a way.
Heather:That we feel so loved.
Heather:Supported.
Heather:And comforted.
Heather:That the universe is working for us, not against us.
Heather:That everything that's thrown in our pass.
Heather:It's a lesser, an opportunity to grow beyond where we were before.
Heather:It's easy in the pursuit of happiness To focus our energy.
Heather:On where it's not working out.
Heather:Unfortunately, that tends to.
Heather:Bring The same results of things not working out.
Heather:Yeah.
Heather:And if we look each day, And I acknowledge the tiny things.
Heather:Yes, my PC.
Heather:Connected to the internet today.
Heather:Yes.
Heather:I had a really fantastic walk with my dogs today.
Heather:I had a small win with the email I sent.
Heather:An old friend connected with me.
Heather:All the small things.
Heather:My coffee was perfect today.
Heather:if we acknowledge those, if we focus on those.
Heather:We're thankful for those.
Heather:They help us.
Heather:To create more, to create bigger.
Heather:To focus on a heart's desire.
Heather:It sounds simple to focus on your heart's desire.
Heather:In my experience, my heart's desires.
Heather:Something completely different from anything I would
Heather:have sought up for myself.
Heather:And that's quite scary in itself.
Heather:It's about embracing it.
Heather:And going for anyway.
Heather:Trusting your intuition trusting that higher knowing.
Heather:That's why it becomes a spiritual experience to really live life.
Heather:As your true nature.
Heather:To really live life.
Heather:On purpose.
Heather:Your government.
Heather:Big tech.
Heather:' cause cops.
Heather:Don't want you to live on purpose.
Heather:Because he probably wouldn't choose their services.
Heather:You've probably wouldn't choose their conditions.
Heather:The power.
Heather:Of happiness.
Heather:Of contentment.
Heather:Lies.
Heather:In the spiritual path of using your inner power, your greatness, your
Heather:connection to source your creator.
Heather:To decide.
Heather:What happiness is for you.
Heather:And also how to.
Heather:Manifest that in your life.
Heather:As a simple start.
Heather:One of the things.
Heather:I know that I forget to do.
Heather:Is to define.
Heather:What happiness is for me.
Heather:And how will I know when I am happy.
Heather:Uh, to really get in touch with that.
Heather:Because happiness is a feeling.
Heather:And a feeling is a choice.
Heather:Or is it a state?
Heather:What is it for you?
Heather:How do you know, you're happy?
Heather:How do you know it'll last long term?
Heather:It's like a muscle, all of this.
Heather:Intuition is like a muscle.
Heather:It takes practice.
Heather:It takes awareness.
Heather:It takes.
Heather:Commitment.
Heather:It takes desire.
Heather:Embrace the journey.
Heather:Even in the face of adversity.
Heather:Build your strength and resilience by focusing.
Heather:On, what do you want?
Heather:Even in the face of massive change?
Heather:Even in the face of tension.
Heather:Of things that look against you.
Heather:Sometimes the very thing we think is against us.
Heather:It's pointing us.
Heather:Toward what we want.
Heather:Prioritize self care activities.
Heather:Becoming.
Heather:Intuitively guided.
Heather:Involves embracing the work.
Heather:involves embracing.
Heather:Your own unconscious.
Heather:that takes self care.
Heather:Cutting out alcohol.
Heather:Drinking more water.
Heather:Watching what you're putting into your body.
Heather:Because we're all energy.
Heather:You're picking up on energy when you Intuit.
Heather:You silence the mind chatter.
Heather:When you decrease the amount of chemicals you're putting into your
Heather:body, the amount of stimulants.
Heather:It's taken me.
Heather:A long time to get to where I am.
Heather:I naturally have.
Heather:Uh, very chatty mind, very noisy minds.
Heather:Very noisy ego.
Heather:He doesn't want me to succeed.
Heather:He doesn't want me to tune in.
Heather:All of this as well is about raising your consciousness.
Heather:We're raising your energy.
Heather:We manifest what we want by focusing on what we want, but at
Heather:the same time, holding that energy.
Heather:Really tuning into it to the energy of it is what we want.
Heather:So if we want better house on a beach, we really have to step into it and to feel it
Heather:and to feel what the essence is of what.
Heather:We will be given.
Heather:To what does it give you?
Heather:Why is it important?
Heather:Really focus in on.
Heather:The essence of that, the energy of it.
Heather:The pursuit of happiness for me, isn't a destination.
Heather:It's something.
Heather:That I consciously.
Heather:Evaluate each day.
Heather:Am I happy in this moment.
Heather:What could I change?
Heather:Where's my focus.
Heather:What can I appreciate to shift the energy?
Heather:Because it's the energy of peace serenity.
Heather:I love.
Heather:That creates the space for true happiness in my world.
Heather:Thank you for listening.
