It is more beneficial to focus on action than results. Action. Daily grinding one after another one foot in front of the other. Action is what leads to results, but results come at the end if we focus on the results. We're constantly disappointed. We're never there. The goal's always in the distant future.
The action is what happens right now, right at this exact moment that you are living in today. And if you do not commit the actions day after day after day, you'll never get the results. And yet we focus on the trophy, we focus on the finish line, what we have achieved, and we don't think enough about what we are doing to achieve the next finish line.
Focus on the actions and you will achieve the results Inexorably,
as we think about how do we reward ourselves, how do we focus our attention, our activity, it's gotta be on the individual actions we take. If you wanna give yourself a little reward. Give yourself the reward for making the a hundred phone calls, not for making the sale. You can get lucky and make a sale, but you can't get lucky and make a hundred phone calls.
You can get lucky and. Win the trophy. Maybe the competition was weak, but you can't get lucky showing up at the gym or practicing every single day. That's something you do intentionally. And the reason this is key is that you can get unlucky. You can show up and practice and do everything right and still not win this time.
And you can't just wait for next year to reward yourself or to feel good. Focus on the actions you are taking because if you are taking the right actions continuously, on and on, you are guaranteed to win. Maybe not in the way you expect to, maybe not the trophy or the tournament or the competition or the results you are aiming for, but you will.
Win. How we do one thing is how we do everything and that focus will pay off action. Action is what leads to the results. When you focus on the results, you'll get tired of the action. Your action will fade off. Your habits will diminish over time because you're so fixating the result. The result never gets closer.
I've been working out every day and I haven't lost the weight. Right? Because your trainer told you it was gonna take at least 45 days, you'd gotta keep at it. But when you focus on the action, you say, I've been working out every day. I feel so good about the achievement of 45 consecutive days of work.
And, oh, look at this, I got the result. Action leads to results. Focus on action. Get the results.
