Shownotes
I’m very excited to welcome my great friend, Kiah Twisselman Burchett (better known as Coach Kiah), onto the podcast!
Kiah loves helping people pursue curiosity and authenticity in their own lives, instead of chasing after worldly notions that only lead to emptiness and unfulfillment. In today’s conversation, Kiah and I discuss what a ‘Quest for Joy’ looks like, and why she is on a mission to bring this concept out into the world.
Practicing self-awareness and allowing ourselves the gift of healing can feel extremely hard in the moment. However, it does show us what is no longer serving us, and guides us back home to our true selves (something both Kiah and I have experienced). Kiah is an incredible human being with so much love and energy to share with the world; if you’re on your own quest for joy and are ready to (re) discover your authentic self again, this is the episode for you!!
In this episode, we cover:
- What the Quest for Joy entails + why so many of us are seeking joy from things that still leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled
- How Kiah plans to get Quest for Joy out into the world and bring people along for this journey
- Why our inability to process negative emotions tends to hinder our ability to feel, process, and welcome joy
- The generational changes that we are now seeing with emotions
- How the ‘arrival fallacy’ traps us into believing that a certain moment, achievement, etc. is the only way to make us feel happy and worthy
- Why our healing journey shows us the power in shedding what’s no longer serving us, and allows us to come back ‘home’ to ourselves
- Kiah’s ever-evolving Quest for Joy journey + her commitment to authenticity and truly getting to know herself again
