“When you give in completely to God, very shortly you will see Him showing up for you“ - Wesleyne

Genesis 45:5:

But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives.

In this verse, Joseph speaks to his brothers after revealing his true identity to them in Egypt. The sentiment expressed is profound and layered with emotion. Having experienced betrayal from his own brothers, who sold him into slavery, Joseph could have justifiably harbored resentment and anger. Yet, after years of hardship and reflection, Joseph perceives a divine plan amidst the travails he faced. Instead of confronting his brothers with wrath, he presents them with a perspective that transcends the immediate circumstances of their betrayal, illuminating a purpose that was far greater than any of them could have initially imagined.

Today, you will gain insight into the immense depth of Joseph's faith and his ability to discern God's hand even in adversity. The verse underscores the principle that events which seem unjust or cruel can be part of a larger, benevolent divine design. Joseph teaches us the virtue of forgiveness, but more importantly, he showcases the transformative power of viewing life through the lens of faith. In essence, this verse encourages believers to trust in God's overarching purpose, even when faced with betrayal and challenges, and to always look for the silver lining or the greater good that may come from difficult circumstances.
