Shownotes

The FTSE 100 finished Friday at 10552.05, up from 10461.95 the previous Friday, a rise of 90.1 points or 0.86% on the week. It traded between 10367.25 and 10602.57, but ended below its 50-day average at 10728.91. 📈📊 Among the week’s drivers, Brent stood out most clearly, rising 2.42% to finish at 104.72, alongside gold’s 1.3% gain to 4216.3. That commodity support mattered more than cable’s 0.1% weekly slip. The coming week is led by US CPI on Wednesday and UK GDP on Thursday, with US existing home sales on Tuesday, US PPI, retail sales and jobless claims on Thursday, and US import and export price data on Friday. Wednesday also includes US real earnings data. The unresolved question is whether the FTSE 100 can break and hold above 10602.57, or whether it slips back toward 10367.25 while US CPI and UK GDP reset the tone. The Money Mosaic examines whether last week’s recovery has real follow-through, what the key event risk is, and which of the week’s cross-asset signals matters most.
