Australian HYROX athlete Joanna Wietrzyk won the Beijing competition in 1:01:23 despite suffering a very visible gastrointestinal emergency during the race. The 24-year-old kept going, finished first, and later summed it up: “a win is a win.” HYROX acknowledged the incident and said it is reviewing how its biocontaminant and medical procedures were applied.

FALSE FLOCKING DOXING (FOX NEWS)
Lindsey Brooke Isaacs spent 13 days in jail after investigators focused on her black Dodge Durango following a deadly Florida crash. A Flock license-plate camera recorded her vehicle about three miles from the crash roughly two minutes beforehand. Prosecutors later dropped all eight felony charges, and another woman was arrested. Flock says its camera data actually pointed away from Isaacs and that the problem was how investigators interpreted the information. Isaacs has filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit.

STRONGER AND STRONGER (ABC7 NEWS)
San Francisco officials say cychlorphine, a newly circulating synthetic opioid they describe as more powerful than fentanyl, was found in the system of a 16-year-old who died from an overdose. Four suspects were arrested after an investigation that police say also produced three firearms and more than 20,000 counterfeit pills. Officials say existing test strips cannot detect cychlorphine and are calling for California lawmakers to specifically add the drug to the state's controlled-substance laws.
