00:00:31Welcome to women, conquer business.

::

00:00:42It's so easy for us to be stuck in our heads or only thinking about our own communities that we don't realize the bigger picture or at least that's the case for me sometimes. So I thought I would share just kind of what's going on out there. I'm on women's entrepreneurship in general.

::

00:01:06Together they generated 1.8 trillion dollars in Revenue last year. That's amazing. That's so much.

::

00:01:35Modern female entrepreneurs lead from feminine strengths like effective, networking empathy and an inclusive holistic mindset.

::

00:02:12Today, we're going to meet at Tempe, Becca who is bringing entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship to women in Africa, cuz he see, women are conquering business, not just in the US, but all around the world.

::

00:02:36Globally, 2018, continue to decade-long trend of narrowing, the gap between male and female entrepreneurs.

::

00:02:59Congratulations, cuz you're awesome and you're doing it.

::

00:03:10Women are doing it with less.

::

00:03:33You see startups, founded by women receive only 2% of all VC funding. At least. That was the case last year, which meant 98% of VC funding went to men.

::

00:03:52I don't like Twitter but it is a good way to kind of test the pulse of what's going on out there.

::

00:04:09I can't remember what percentage are white and they are almost entirely. I'll mail.

::

00:04:3198% of VC, money going to men, and many of those men. Also probably not coincidentally. Also attended the same Ivy League schools as the Venture capitalists themselves.

::

00:05:00There's a really big gap when we go to, like the outside outliers in venture capitalist. The largest deal won by women. Founders was 165 million dollars last year. That sounds like an amazing amount of money, right?

::

00:05:24Seeing the PC industry, male investors, outnumber women by a scale of five to one meeting only. 20% of all, venture capitalists are women. And again, those women tend to go to the same Ivy League schools.

::

00:05:53The total dollars in conventional small business loans, women receive 4.4%

::

00:06:15There's so many times when I'm in social media groups and it seems like women are always trying to get a deal from each other.

::

00:06:32But see if we're not willing to pay full price.

::

00:06:38Then how do we rise together?

::

00:06:46Not really helping each other.

::

00:06:54Isn't the same as paying for a mortgage.

::

00:07:02We have to help each other do more. We have to help each other be more.

::

00:07:18It's amazing. Last year. The number of businesses owned by women of color grew by 163% with almost three times, the overall growth rate for women on businesses.

::

00:07:38The more female Founders can reflect culture as a whole, the better.

::

00:07:50There are more than 5.8 million businesses owned by women of color.

::

00:08:06Women of color doing it. Women are doing it.

::

00:08:26Everything that we dream of.

::

00:08:37Close the gap feed, their families and change their lives. If I catch her goal is to serve 1 million women by 2025 and she is off to a good start and we're going to talk to her right after this.

She enjoyed spending time with her two children and traveling on road trips.

::

00:12:00So Tempe, welcome to the show.

::

00:13:02My wall, That's to the millions. That's really where I was. That story came from.

::

00:13:22Yes. Yes, you don't mind leaving Zimbabwe. Yes. It was also the political situation and the financial in the economic situation. But really it's mainly, I felt like I was leaving for a post. It was a pick up. It was for me to be able for a girl like me from such a poor family to be able to board on a plane and go to Canada and why is everybody else is still stuck in their situation or in their life? So for me, I always believe that there's always a bigger purpose for everything that happens in your life that paper supposed to change and that's what I said. It and it wasn't an easy process like everybody else when you starting a new life and then you Jenny, there's a lot of Segways is a lot of like a stream that go get you off your main path, but eventually, you get back to the main part and you keep going into, just put your head and you put the blinkers on and just keep going for it.

::

00:14:37They snow overnight success. End in success is defined in drilling. You've noticed that right now. It is time. Do I have sleepless nights like, 2 weeks ago. I had a sleepless night and I was so stressed and I was so worried. I look, my God. I'm going to go bankrupt and that's the life of an intrapreneur Wednesday, your lie in the Alexandria on the law. And I think that's there's nothing like, oh, I've got. It is also that my life even the big intrapreneurs, like Ellen, mosque, and all that. They go through those up and downs ups and downs and no, there's no overnight success. It's just a way with your writing. You just have to write a weight.

::

00:15:35Yes, and you have to ask, I think the most important thing is to surround yourself with people. Like, you people are going to help you overcome and become the president cuz it's so easy to just shut down in school into that mode. Where you're like, oh my God, I might as well just got back into nursing school. I might as well just go back and become an RN. I gained people like you who are on the same Jenny like you are becomes easier to stand up and to keep going.

::

00:16:18Yeah, definitely. I am I surround myself with people are definitely smarter than me. And I'm and I'm a part of the community Jeff Walker getting his community. And basically, the reason why I am because there's so many people are smarter than me, and Jeff is office, is mad at me, and that's really what help me and kiss me going and if you must have Minds as well, but those must have just helped me. Keep going and keep me focused on the end result.

::

00:17:51You should fight in range for your purpose of what you believe in and for your clients and prayers to them. So when I say riches, your lying ass with, in what women, and this is really made of women. What women are you find that they have no passion at all, like they're waking up in their business and they're just doing it for financial reasons. And lioness doesn't do, that has driven, it is on fire to get resolved, into achieving them in a better way.

::

00:18:57I, you know what? I, I believe that we we don't have to take on so much but I believe that the reason why people end up feeling like they need to take on too much is because they are listen to every status. I advise out there, one of the things I've been living as a woman is, you have to do what was best for you. Do you and let them do themselves because they don't match up business advice, we get out there and some of his guilt was mayonnaise gets what's a masculine industry which doesn't work for three, kids running around and you can hear it in my bedroom. My son is golfing right now. He's sick and staying at home. If you put those kids running around with you and I think when you stop doing that and you just start doing what works for you and you do, what are lines with your peppers, is an Oliver Peoples alignment. What works for me? And is it an alignment with my papers, with my Big Y, with what I want to achieve? At the end, you you'll take away.

::

00:20:13Yeah, I think it would that gets forgotten and I don't know why everything is so masculine, I guess because we haven't always been involved in business. But I do think that it's time for us to start Reinventing business for women, so that it really resonates with us. And I think then we will stand in our passion a lot more. I agree. I agree. And I think a lot of thought leaders out there who are trying to do that. I didn't enjoy doing that Jen like in your business, women business, like a lot of people like you who are trying to do that and try to teach you and help you do this aligns with women and not just a business structure, but something, which is aligned with you as a fellow entrepreneur, and I know that you are doing that too. I know that you are so passionate about empowering women, so that they have more choices. And so I was wondering if you would like to talk a little

::

00:22:1384 people go through this training this year alone and in. So, we trained women how to be virtual assistant and reconnect them with Employers in North America. That is so fantastic. I think that is giving people hope when maybe they didn't have it before. Also, I think it's also giving other people an opportunity to fulfill peppers and Employers in in the Western World to hire with hippos because most of the time as employers, we just hired because that's the person available, all that somebody who has the interview. But Studies have shown that when you hire with pimples when you eat pepper school, hiring at your business, increases like you have a higher chance of a successful business and somebody who just tired. So, this is an opportunity for everyone for these women to be empowered and for an intrapreneur here in North America.

::

00:24:08Working so hard and they're working extra. I just finished just before this interview speaking to one of my assistants. It is 11 a.m. 11 p.m. In Zimbabwe right now, and she still working and that's not abuse because this is voluntary, she chooses to do that. But when I hired another America, I found that when my 528 925 was that the employer I just left the White House finished or not. That was it. It was sad. And so, I realize some resilience in these women could have gone through so much, and hard work, and power, just because they are so willing to change your life and to change your business. Absolutely. And I think people forget, I mean, most people in the continent of Africa speak English fluently. And so it really is just a little bit about the time difference, but that's easy to overcome. I I lived overseas and that's manageable if you're hiring VA, it seems

::

00:26:08I've definitely have an opportunity to empower an African woman. And also I Empower yourself as an employer fire hydrant with the VA is do you do you find that its transformative for them and their families as well? Oh, my God, why do I suck like, these gills lives have changed. This girl's, my sister changed like they have changed.

::

00:27:25I trained them all. I'm the one who trained them. So this is not just a VA who you find on Fiverr who is self-taught. I basically trained them to some launches before product launches enough done. So I literally trained them on each and every single day. No, so they know me and I know that, so we have a relationship. So fantastic. See, you can also see firsthand the impact that you're having on communities.

::

00:28:54Please read the last one this year. We're basically, I take you over 10 days, you go into MIT has been well trained and you land. As we already spoke here that you'd become more empowered and you learned from this woman ancient land, how you can become more resilient. And one thing which comes out of that is this a lot of vulnerability which would go through and a lot of resilient what you end up coming out with

::

00:29:23Yes, I am not going to do it again. As of right now. It's just because of my business in the, in the VA, in the street. I'm feeling like I need to commit to eat to train Miguel's and I feel like I need to make more commitments that than I do on the on the trip. So definitely changing that stretch cuz I didn't know about that until too late. Too late. You can come. It's in October to a 10-foot, so you can come with us. So, do you want to share how people can reach you and everything like tell us about your podcast, tell us about how we can connect with you.

::

00:30:56No, it's it's this part of being a lioness these things happens. We have to take care of our Cubs. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to talk, man. I really want to stay in touch with you because you're doing so many great things. Thank you so much. Jen. And thank you for having me on this poor cuz I'm so glad and Detroit's love the connectivity all the time.
