Transcripts

Speaker:

You’re listening to Poetry Month on The Voice of Dog.

Speaker:

This is Rob MacWolf

Speaker:

your fellow traveler,

Speaker:

and Today we present a poem

Speaker:

by Taylor Fox, also known as Aaron Gerst, also known as Star Ringer,

Speaker:

who hopes if you're interested in his art, you'll feel comfortable seeking it

Speaker:

out. He'll be found at Star_Ringer

Speaker:

on platforms including Twitter,

Speaker:

Blue Sky, Fur Affinity,

Speaker:

and SoFurry. Read by Yuugenshou,

Speaker:

Wolf of Wanderlust.

Speaker:

Please enjoy Destruction is a part of existence.

Speaker:

I do not want to destroy my art.

Speaker:

How could I? But I must.

Speaker:

Concept must be cracked,

Speaker:

shorn, broken, cut,

Speaker:

and shattered, if it is ever to be in the same reality where I stand.

Speaker:

I do not have, precisely,

Speaker:

a worry that I will ruin it in translation.

Speaker:

I know I will. An idea is pristine.

Speaker:

An idea is perfect.

Speaker:

But it must be realized.

Speaker:

There is pain in creation,

Speaker:

because it is also destruction.

Speaker:

I've accepted imperfection.

Speaker:

But what agony it is

Speaker:

to subject perfection

Speaker:

to the torture of realization.

Speaker:

Please pardon my own imperfection,

Speaker:

perfect little thought.

Speaker:

If only you had come to someone better than I am.

Speaker:

Someone with strength,

Speaker:

resilience, and skill.

Speaker:

But what misfortune,

Speaker:

perfect little thought,

Speaker:

that you would not be,

Speaker:

except from my mind,

Speaker:

and my mind alone.

Speaker:

I shall do right by you.

Speaker:

To be forgotten is a greater death than destruction.

Speaker:

I promise to us both,

Speaker:

to try. I shall destroy you,

Speaker:

that you may be created.

Speaker:

And if only one other being

Speaker:

in all of creation experiences us

Speaker:

and understands us,

Speaker:

we will have succeeded.

Speaker:

Forgive me. This was

Speaker:

"And Then, There Is Destruction”,

Speaker:

by Taylor Fox, read for you by Yuugenshou,

Speaker:

Wolf of Wanderlust..

Speaker:

Thank you for listening

Speaker:

to The Voice of Dog.
