Get ready to dive into some backyard brilliance because this week’s Best of Edition of the Around the House Show is all about transforming your outdoor space! We kick things off with the incredible Joe Raboine, who’s got the scoop on landscape designs that’ll have you looking at your yard like it’s a blank canvas just waiting for a masterpiece. Seriously, if you think planning a yard is like throwing a bunch of random stuff together and hoping for the best, think again! Just like you wouldn’t let a mechanic build you a car without a plan, you shouldn’t skimp on quality design for your outdoor haven. And just when you think it can't get any better, we’re throwing in a spicy project—building your very own outdoor wood-fired pizza oven! So grab a snack (or a pizza slice), because we’re about to take your outdoor cooking game up a notch.

Speaker A:We have a great around the house show coming up this weekend.
Speaker A:Help us out and subscribe on your favorite podcast player.
Speaker B:We sent Eric off for some much deserved time off on this Memorial Day weekend.
Speaker B:So we have some of our favorite episodes this weekend.
Speaker B:Starting off with Joe Raboin talking about landscape designs for outdoor living.
Speaker B:This can change how you look at your backyard spaces.
Speaker C:Yeah, I also use the car analogy.
Speaker C:I said, can you imagine if you, you wanted to go buy a car but you had to just, you show up and ask a mechanic to put a bunch of pieces together and make something.
Speaker C:I said that that's basically what happens a lot.
Speaker C:And people are like, yeah, it's expensive.
Speaker C:You're going to recoup that 10 times over.
Speaker C:If you're doing a larger project to get a quality design, make sure you plan all those things.
Speaker C:And there, there's a lot of insights the designers have, right, that they're seeing more projects, they're pulling data from wherever that you don't always get.
Speaker C:I absolutely always say you should invest on that front end.
Speaker C:And even if I tell contractors you might be the best installer in the world, but a poorly designed project will still be a poorly designed project.
Speaker C:And no matter how good you install, it just is.
Speaker D:Oh yeah.
Speaker D:And there's nothing more frustrating for the end user, homeowner or whoever else.
Speaker B:In the second hour, we jump into a project that you probably didn't know you even needed.
Speaker B:Let's build an outdoor wood fired pizza oven.
Speaker B:This one will make you hungry, so grab a snack.
Speaker D:We've got, we've got a range and so you've got the smallest oven, you've got our P85 and it's not small.
Speaker D:No.
Speaker D:A lot of people, they look at our range of ovens and they, and they see, oh, we've got the smallest to the largest.
Speaker D:And they figure, well, the small one must be kind of small.
Speaker D:And it's not.
Speaker D:It's what, it's 33 and a half inches internal diameter, which is pretty big.
Speaker D:We, we had my brother in law's 50th birthday party recently.
Speaker D:Rob and I hadn't, didn't have a gift for Rob.
Speaker D:Sort of, you know, I was trying to think what can I get him?
Speaker D:And, and in the end I said, you know what, Rob, I'll cater for you.
Speaker D:He or he has the same oven you have.
Speaker D:He has a P85.
Speaker D:He had 40 people over and I cooked pizza for everybody out of that oven and I was cooking one or two at a time and I had a team of four people rolling out bases and topping them for me and they couldn't keep up because the pizzas will be cooked in between 90 seconds and two minutes.
