Often the things we most long for would kill us if God gave us all that we wanted of them. We simply don’t have the capacity to discern what is really good for us. God often gives us a dose of what we ask for simply to show us it won’t satisfy us. But there’s a stench that comes with that gift (rotting frogs). It is far better to trust in God and His ways above our own desires and our own ways.
