Speaker:

Welcome to the podcast launch strategy podcast, where we take a deep dive into

Speaker:

the latest podcast, launch strategies and tactics to help you launch a

Speaker:

successful show and grow your podcast.

Speaker:

Hi, I'm temple dang.

Speaker:

I'm an online marketing expert podcast.

Speaker:

And the host of the mesmerizing marketing podcast.

Speaker:

I love helping others share their message globally to build

Speaker:

a profitable personal brand.

Speaker:

That is mesmerizing.

Speaker:

All right, let's get this podcast started.

Speaker:

Hello there.

Speaker:

I'm so excited for this episode and you guys should be too, because today

Speaker:

I'm going to talk about 10 ways to take your podcast, content and repurposed it.

Speaker:

Are you guys excited?

Speaker:

I know you are so all right.

Speaker:

Let's get started.

Speaker:

So number one.

Speaker:

It's the podcast itself.

Speaker:

That's a content machine.

Speaker:

So that is number one.

Speaker:

That's where you're going to start.

Speaker:

That's the hub, but let's talk about how we can take that content.

Speaker:

Cause that's already one way to get your content out.

Speaker:

There is through a podcast, right?

Speaker:

Let's say that you have a podcast and you also have a video component to it.

Speaker:

You can put it on YouTube and you can even live stream it.

Speaker:

So actually there's probably more than 10 ways.

Speaker:

There's even like 12.

Speaker:

But I'm super excited, so let's get down to it.

Speaker:

So when you have a podcast, people always ask me, oh, does it have to be.

Speaker:

Video, does it have to be audio?

Speaker:

Like, can it be only audio it's completely up to you, how you

Speaker:

want to structure your show?

Speaker:

And if you want to have that video component, I say

Speaker:

it's always good to record.

Speaker:

In video, and then you can always decide if you want to

Speaker:

use that video later or not.

Speaker:

Or even if you want to use snippets from it for quote cards or something

Speaker:

that was said, that was really impactful and you can repurpose that content.

Speaker:

So, if you are interviewing a guest, then make sure that you

Speaker:

do record video as well, because then you have double the content.

Speaker:

That's just a better way to maximize your time.

Speaker:

You know, if you decide you don't like the video, you don't have to use

Speaker:

it later, but at least you have it.

Speaker:

If you do want to use it, especially if you're interviewing someone that's,

Speaker:

somewhat of a celebrity and it was really hard to get them on your calendar.

Speaker:

I think you want to have that video component because that's going to

Speaker:

be good for later for repurposes.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So you've got your podcast.

Speaker:

You can even take your podcast, you can have a video component to

Speaker:

it, and you can also live stream simultaneously to Facebook and to

Speaker:

Patrion and to other platforms.

Speaker:

And this way that allows you to get maximum exposure.

Speaker:

And if you're asking like, well, what can I use to live stream?

Speaker:

Well, even I use riverside.fm and I love Riverside for many reasons.

Speaker:

I'm not going to go into details here on this specific episode, but

Speaker:

you can listen to other episodes about that one, but riverside.fm

Speaker:

when you go into settings, it does have a feature where you can.

Speaker:

Livestream to platforms like, YouTube and others.

Speaker:

So you can just check that out and make sure you, that you update your

Speaker:

settings in your recording studio there.

Speaker:

Before you record an episode, also, you can check out stream

Speaker:

yard and you can also check out repurpose dot IO, which is amazing.

Speaker:

For repurposing content.

Speaker:

I will put those in the show notes for you guys.

Speaker:

If you guys want to check out the show notes, you can click and you

Speaker:

can go directly there and some of them have like free trial, so you can

Speaker:

take advantage of that from my link.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So once you have a podcast, the great thing is you produce that particular

Speaker:

podcast episode one time, but the value that you can get from it, Tenfold, you

Speaker:

can take that one piece of content and you can repurpose it so many different ways.

Speaker:

So one of my favorite ways to repurpose a podcast is to put

Speaker:

it on a WordPress website.

Speaker:

When what's called a blog blogs, it can be a blog feed for your podcast,

Speaker:

and you do want to edit the notes.

Speaker:

You don't just want to take the show notes and slop them on there.

Speaker:

You want someone to listen to the entire episode?

Speaker:

Pick up like the key points, the key questions, the key responses to

Speaker:

those questions and really set it up.

Speaker:

Like you would write a blog article or a blog post for your website.

Speaker:

And the advantage of that is that there's major SEO when it comes to blog content.

Speaker:

I won't get into too much detail here because I can talk

Speaker:

about that for a whole hour.

Speaker:

But all I'm going to say is that.

Speaker:

Make sure that you're setting up your podcast title strategically.

Speaker:

Don't just use, oh, this is podcast episode 100 with guests.

Speaker:

So-and-so because unless your guest is a celebrity, no, one's

Speaker:

going to find that podcast episode.

Speaker:

People are not typing into Google.

Speaker:

Oh, I want to see a podcast episode that I don't even know about yet.

Speaker:

They're typing in questions.

Speaker:

And they're looking for answers to their questions.

Speaker:

So you want to make sure that your podcast episodes are in the form of a question.

Speaker:

Are a couple of specific, things that are going to be discussed on there?

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So blog posts, the other thing that you can do is you can go live on Instagram.

Speaker:

And this one I love because you can.

Speaker:

Ask your guests that you interviewed to be on your show, and you can

Speaker:

say, Hey, Samantha, thank you so much for being a guest on my show,

Speaker:

by the way, in an effort to really promote, this episode and maximize it.

Speaker:

I love to get on there with, my guest and do a Instagram live.

Speaker:

Would you be available for 15 to 20 minutes on this date

Speaker:

for us to do that together?

Speaker:

And more than likely they're going to say, of course I am.

Speaker:

Absolutely because it's a win-win for both parties and this is why the audience that

Speaker:

is going to now know about your guest.

Speaker:

They didn't know about them before.

Speaker:

So that's an advantage to them because they're getting exposed to your audience

Speaker:

and then it's vice versa for you.

Speaker:

They don't know about your show.

Speaker:

But now they do, because they are a fan, they're a loyal fan of Samantha.

Speaker:

And because they're a loyal fan of Samantha, they want to hear

Speaker:

whatever Samantha has going on and whatever Samantha's got to say.

Speaker:

So they're going to tune in to listen to Samantha.

Speaker:

on that live stream, you guys are going to talk about the fact that

Speaker:

Samantha was on your podcast.

Speaker:

You're going to say the name of the podcast.

Speaker:

You're going to pin a link in the comments.

Speaker:

And then what you're going to do is you're going to invite people

Speaker:

to go and download it right then and there while they're listening.

Speaker:

And why is that important?

Speaker:

Because if you don't tell them to do it right then and there,

Speaker:

they're going to forget about it.

Speaker:

And then they're going to say, oh, what was the name of that podcast?

Speaker:

Oh, the live streams gone.

Speaker:

Oh, I don't remember.

Speaker:

You have to get people in the habit of taking action right away and immediately.

Speaker:

So that's one thing to keep in mind.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

The fourth way that you can repurpose your content is Instagram reels and tick talks.

Speaker:

so you can take your podcast episode content, and you can

Speaker:

create an Instagram reel.

Speaker:

And I don't mean you have to ask your guests to be in it

Speaker:

or do anything complicated.

Speaker:

You are the star of the show.

Speaker:

You're the host.

Speaker:

So I want you to be in that Instagram real, and I want you.

Speaker:

Pick something really impactful that you learned from that episode that you

Speaker:

gained, that you think the audience needs to know about, or maybe there's

Speaker:

like three quick takeaways that you had.

Speaker:

I want you to talk about those takeaways and then, you know, using

Speaker:

green screen, you can show photo of your guest and you can say, oh,

Speaker:

this is who appeared on my show.

Speaker:

This is what they had to say.

Speaker:

Go and download the episode, go listen to it, go subscribe to my podcast.

Speaker:

try that that's going to help you get more downloads and more subscribers.

Speaker:

And you're also leveraging the power of repurposing your content, which is huge.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So the fifth way to repurpose your content is an ebook.

Speaker:

You can take your podcast episode and you can take the key takeaways from

Speaker:

it and you can turn it into an ebook and you can put that on your website

Speaker:

for free and Rincon repurpose it.

Speaker:

And now you can grow your email list.

Speaker:

And that's really important because you want to have your own list.

Speaker:

That is the only thing that you really own.

Speaker:

Keep in mind.

Speaker:

We don't hone the social media platforms.

Speaker:

Like as we know, Instagram has gone down more than once this year with Facebook

Speaker:

and you don't want to be in that panic.

Speaker:

When that happens, you want to have your own community for your fans and followers,

Speaker:

and you want to have your own email.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

And if you guys are wondering, well, how do I create an ebook?

Speaker:

I'm going to put a couple of resources for you in the show notes.

Speaker:

There's a tool called designer, went to ours at the end that I absolutely love it.

Speaker:

Does all the work for you.

Speaker:

It makes it super easy.

Speaker:

All you have to do is customize your eBooks.

Speaker:

And of course, one of my favorites is Canva.

Speaker:

I have the pro plan because it does so much more.

Speaker:

It gives you so many more assets and photos and video clips that you can use.

Speaker:

And it also removes the background of photos.

Speaker:

You can get those really beautiful graphics that you see on website

Speaker:

headers, that people paid someone hundreds of dollars to create.

Speaker:

You can do that yourself so you can check out those resources as well.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So the next one, number six is creating PDF downloads.

Speaker:

So the difference between an ebook and PDF downloads as a PDF download

Speaker:

is just going to be a more condensed, shorter version of the content.

Speaker:

And.

Speaker:

Is something that can be many pages, right?

Speaker:

It could be 10 pages.

Speaker:

It could be five pages.

Speaker:

It could be 20 pages is up to you.

Speaker:

And a PDF is just literally a one page that you can, use just like I

Speaker:

mentioned, with the ebook, you can follow that same concept and strategy,

Speaker:

but you can grow your email list with.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Number seven is Twitter.

Speaker:

And even though you might not be a big Twitter user, I encourage you to set

Speaker:

up a Twitter account and start using it because a lot of people do use

Speaker:

Twitter and it is a great platform.

Speaker:

To share your podcast episodes and take snippets of value

Speaker:

and repurpose that content.

Speaker:

And with that, I don't mean just hit the share button in your hosting account and

Speaker:

share that episode, actually create a custom image, a graphic that stands out

Speaker:

that grabs people's attention because

Speaker:

people are very visual they're going to react to a graphic better

Speaker:

than just like a little snippet that has the podcast player.

Speaker:

So keep that in mind.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So we are on number nine and number nine is LinkedIn and Facebook.

Speaker:

I'm just going to combine them together because.

Speaker:

I just want to have 10 things.

Speaker:

So with LinkedIn, the beauty there is that.

Speaker:

There's a lot of different ways you can utilize it.

Speaker:

But one of the most recent things that's working really well on there for everyone

Speaker:

is something called a articles feature.

Speaker:

So you have the ability to write your own articles.

Speaker:

So what you can do is you can take that podcast episode and you can put

Speaker:

it into an article kind of like you would do for your WordPress blog.

Speaker:

But the only thing here that's really important.

Speaker:

Do not copy the exact same content you use somewhere else, because it

Speaker:

does have to be original content because Google does not like duplicate

Speaker:

content and you will get penalized.

Speaker:

So you want to create an original article from your podcast episode.

Speaker:

And the cool thing about that is the LinkedIn articles

Speaker:

are ranking super high on.

Speaker:

They ranking on page one.

Speaker:

So if you set up that article strategically, you can get

Speaker:

yourself to land on page one and more people will know about you.

Speaker:

And I encourage you to utilize that, to get more people to know about your show,

Speaker:

download your episodes and subscribe and become loyal fans and followers.

Speaker:

Because obviously you can mention the podcast in that article and

Speaker:

you can provide a link on where people can go and download and list.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Number 10 is gated content.

Speaker:

So I don't know if you guys have ever thought about gated content, Gated

Speaker:

content is very much similar to a membership platform or membership

Speaker:

site, but there's many different ways that you can utilize it.

Speaker:

So one way is if you want it to have gated content, even on apple podcasts,

Speaker:

they have something called subscriptions.

Speaker:

I will put a link in the show notes.

Speaker:

You can learn more about it, but there's a way where you can have gated content,

Speaker:

even if it's one particular podcast episode and you can charge for that.

Speaker:

you can get people to pay because maybe it's very high-level content that you

Speaker:

don't want to, give out for free.

Speaker:

And maybe it's content that's really very detailed and very strategic.

Speaker:

And maybe that's content that you don't want to share for free, but it's the

Speaker:

same kind of content you would share in your masterminds are your VIP days.

Speaker:

Well, You can put it behind gated content on subscriptions on apple podcasts are,

Speaker:

you can take a couple of your podcasts episodes and you can create a series and

Speaker:

you can put them in a membership site and you can charge something really small.

Speaker:

Like you can charge $5 or $7, like a one-time fee are, it can be $5 a month.

Speaker:

If you plan on, adding more content.

Speaker:

And you can charge more.

Speaker:

You can charge 97 if you want.

Speaker:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker:

That's up to you, but I'm just trying to get you guys to wrap your head around

Speaker:

the concept of doing that, of doing the gated content of doing paid of doing

Speaker:

stuff that's amino membership sites and just, re-purposing your content.

Speaker:

So I hope you guys really enjoyed these 10 ways on how you can take

Speaker:

your podcast and you can repurpose all your content and get more out of it.

Speaker:
