One thing I've noticed lately is that podcasts are starting to sound a little

over-edited, and a lot of that's down to AI.

Now, don't get me wrong, AI editing tools can save you a lot of time,

but features like automatic filler word removal, breath removal,

silence trimming shouldn't be a replacement for actual listening back to your episode,

because sometimes they remove the very things that make you sound human.

A short pause before an important point. A quick breath while you're gathering your thoughts.

Even the occasional um or you know. Those are little moments that are part of

natural conversations.

And when every pause disappears or every breath is removed and every sentence

is cut together as tightly as possible, your podcast can start to sound rushed,

choppy or just a little off. So here's a simple test.

Listen to your next episode and ask yourself, does this sound like a conversation?

Or does it sound like someone edited every second down that wasn't a word?

Remember, your listener isn't counting your filler words, they're listening for a connection.

So yes, use AI to speed up your workflow. Just don't let it edit the personality

out of your podcast, because sometimes the best editing decision is giving your

podcast permission to breathe.
