Shownotes

In this episode, I talk about the quiet phase in business. The stage where you are doing the work, but the results have not caught up yet.

I explain why this often creates doubt for tutors and education business owners, especially when launching new offers or trying new marketing strategies. Using a tutoring example, I show why results often take longer than expected.

This episode will help you understand the role of consistency in marketing, sales, and business growth, and why many good strategies fail simply because they are abandoned too soon.

Enjoy :-)

Sumantha:

One of the most uncomfortable places to be in business is when you are doing the work, but the results have not caught up yet. Things are not actively going wrong. They just feel quiet. And that quiet can make you doubt yourself.

Sumantha:

I see this a lot with tutors. Many decide to move away from only doing one to one lessons and plan group classes instead. They think it through properly, set a good price, mention it to parents, and start showing up online.

Sumantha:

Then a few weeks go by and no one signs up. At least not immediately. There is no sudden rush of enquiries and it feels flat. The conclusion is often that it did not work and maybe it should be abandoned.

Sumantha:

But if you step back and look at it from a parent’s perspective, this makes sense. Parents do not usually make quick decisions about their children. They need time to process, to hear things more than once, and to see that something is stable.

Sumantha:

A parent might hear about a group class in January and only act in March or April. That does not mean the work in January did not matter. The same thing happens in business. Often the work is working, it just has not matured yet. Most strategies fail because they are abandoned too soon. If you are in a quiet phase, it might not be time to change direction. It might just be time to stay steady, stay consistent, and trust the process.
