Why it is important to articulate and use your body language. 

These two very easy things helps you with your attitude and your focus. Your voice quality and the communication with your body interweave with each other.

How are you today?

I'm okay.

And how are you?

I'm fine, fine.

Speaker B:

It's autumn.

Speaker B:

Yes, the leaves are a little bit yellow.

Speaker B:

I think it's very nice in the autumn.

Speaker A:

That's good.

Speaker A:

And now maybe hopefully not the flu season,

Speaker A:

but I'm having a man cold and at the same time I have a new microphone here also.

Speaker A:

So it's lots of things to think about, talking about focus, for example.

Speaker B:

Yes, we talked about focus last time, Martin.

Speaker B:

Do you have any thoughts about that?

Speaker A:

Yes, it's something to think about and that you could have it, as I said, more

Speaker A:

philosophical meaning of it, but also as you gave practical pieces of advice, then focus on

Speaker A:

a task or a presentation.

Speaker A:

So I thought that was valuable and chew it and

Speaker A:

think about it and come back to it.

Speaker B:

We talked about how important it is with good sleep and the good food and exercise

Speaker B:

and these parts can really help you to focus on your task and what you want you to say.

Speaker B:

And you also feel comfortable when you have slept well and eating good food.

Speaker B:

But that reminded me that we also have things that are very easy to do to also help us to

Speaker B:

focus in a better way.

Speaker B:

And that's your voice and your body and the

Speaker B:

communication with your body.

Speaker B:

And one of the things is that regarding the

Speaker B:

voice then is to articulate well.

Speaker B:

And in your situation when you have a man

Speaker B:

code, it's more important because then it helps your voice when you articulate well.

Speaker B:

If you have loose lips, the sound of your voice also gets loose and a little bit blurry

Speaker B:

if you can say it in that way.

Speaker B:

So if you articulate well, you both feel and

Speaker B:

get more confident and you save your voice.

Speaker A:

Because maybe it could be the challenge as I'm now feeling a bit sore and

Speaker A:

irritated.

Speaker A:

And then you try to not get too loose but then

Speaker A:

you have it building up.

Speaker A:

So do you have any tips and suggestion on

Speaker A:

that?

Speaker B:

Just think about how much you use your lips when you are talking that you in you

Speaker B:

should really be in front.

Speaker B:

It should be almost in front of your face.

Speaker B:

It sounds a little peculiar, but it helps you really.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

And if you say a word like long, long, you use your tongue.

Speaker B:

Your tongue is in the upper front and o long and n. Then you use your tongue and then you

Speaker B:

speak up here in the mouth and don't use and then you're not sitting used to say sitting

Speaker B:

the words in your throat when it's sore.

Speaker B:

So it helps you good.

Speaker B:

And then you can take your help from your body as well.

Speaker B:

So it's important that you stretch up your body in its full length and look in the mirror

Speaker B:

and see how you walk through life raise your head and your eyes and pull back your

Speaker B:

shoulders.

Speaker B:

Then you will automatically get focused.

Speaker B:

And you get a focused mindset when you do that.

Speaker B:

And I think now focus is a huge topic, why our listeners, they can write to us and ask

So now I got thinking about my new setup here regarding posture and equipment and

other things like that, so that's things that you could improve over time.

But it was great to test a new microphone and also to do it even if it's not optimal with

Speaker A:

your sound voice, throat, whatever.

Speaker A:

But I have, as always some hot tea here ready

if something could happen.

Speaker B:

Really nice.
