“a bit of science, a bit of art, and a bit of something unexplainable."
If Part 1 tickled your tastebuds then congratulations, you clearly have excellent taste – welcome back to Part 2 of our gloriously unplanned pilot episode.
I’ve given Katie the task of asking me some half-sensible questions about who I am, how I got into the world of podcasting, and what I want you to come away from this podcast with. I manage to answer most of them AND squeeze in a fun (for me) anecdote about my mum’s old car. It’s not to be missed…
We chat about my journey from local commercial radio into podcast production, why it’s taken six years to follow my own advice and start this BLOODY PODCAST, and the vision for what we want it to become.
In this episode:
· How redundancy during COVID accidentally led me into podcasting
· What radio taught me… and what I had to unlearn when I started making podcasts
· Why this podcast is just as much about visibility as it is about podcasting
· My suspicion that confidence probably isn’t the thing that arrives before the thing you need it for…
· Some half-baked at best ideas for future podcast features and realising all we’ve got so far is a list of rehashed ideas other people came up with first (is there ANY hope of coming up with an original idea by the end of series 1?)
· Gregg Wallace.
This episode also serves as a reminder that what you’re listening to is a podcast being built in real time, off the cuff, and by the seat of our pants. We genuinely don’t know exactly what this show will become yet and that’s absolutely fine and not anxiety inducing in any way 😊
Enjoy the banjos.

This is an independent podcast so it makes a HUGE difference to us when you hit follow/subscribe (it helps more people discover this show which is especially appreciated by podcasters who don’t have big marketing budgets to put their face on billboards and buses and such).
Thanks for listening, now… let’s just make the bloody podcast, shall we?
