Honesty is an important virtue that needs to be practised consistently. It is a necessary component of building trust and relationships with others. Honesty is also essential for self-respect and humility. Instead of lying and deceit, we should speak the truth with love. Ephesians 4:15 counsels us to speak the truth in love with these five guidelines: listening before you speak, checking your heart, watching your words, praying before, after and during the conversation and trusting in God.
