Shownotes

Dorothee Eshin Takatsu has been ordained in the Rinzai Tradition and now guides people through meditation at the Horakuan Zen Retreat Center. Horakuan means "Fulness and Fun" in Kanji and she hopes visitors feel relaxed and refreshed when they visit her center in the beautiful mountains of Nagano.

In this talk Dorothee talks of her training, setting up the first zen meditation center in a remodeled old building after she studied Buddhism in GIFU for 5 years. She wants to create meditation programs at Horakuan that refresh and allow people to become more aware of themselves and their surroundings, "My main goal now is introducing people to Zen teachings and how to apply them in daily life". I am particularly interested in the sound meditation programs and silent walking meditation in the forest.
