Speaker:

Hey, welcome to Thursday's edition

of the daily Bible podcast.

2

:

Cowboy.

3

:

It is June 6th, which is also D-Day.

4

:

That's right?

5

:

Yup.

6

:

D-Day took place on June 6th, 1944.

7

:

Wow.

8

:

Almost 160,000 allied troops

landed on the Normandy beaches.

9

:

Pretty amazing or parachuted in

behind enemy lines there, which.

10

:

I think we both referenced

band of brothers before.

11

:

On this that had a lot to do my favorites.

12

:

Yeah.

13

:

Yeah, amazing.

14

:

Oh, who was I talking to recently about?

15

:

I was talking to somebody about

just doing hard things and, and

16

:

just the difference generationally.

17

:

Like today, how many of the.

18

:

Th that today's youth would,

would refuse to get off the boat

19

:

when those doors dropped down.

20

:

Yep.

21

:

I don't, I don't, I don't want to

disparage her youth that boy I'm.

22

:

Yeah.

23

:

I'm thankful for that

generation of people.

24

:

Yeah.

25

:

Yeah, it's uh, it's sobering for sure.

26

:

And, uh, and thankful for the.

27

:

The sacrifice.

28

:

Um, they're in the, the, uh, history

underground that channel on YouTube

29

:

that I've referenced a few times before

they've got quite a bit, he does on,

30

:

on D-Day, where he goes and tours the

sites and talks about the history of it.

31

:

He does a good job with it.

32

:

So, yeah.

33

:

Um, yeah, I don't, I don't know if

my recycling has been picked up, but

34

:

tomorrow is my trash day again on Friday.

35

:

So I guess I'll just leave it out

there until might as well at this

36

:

point, it doesn't even matter.

37

:

Yeah.

38

:

Hey, we had the Rangers game.

39

:

We didn't talk about that.

40

:

He's done a remarkable.

41

:

I mean, they, they lost.

42

:

So in that sense?

43

:

Yes, but it was a great time.

44

:

Yeah, that was really cool.

45

:

I mean, yeah.

46

:

This is my first time inside

an indoor stadium ballpark.

47

:

That was cool.

48

:

I mean, the.

49

:

The magnitude of the places kind

of all inspiring and its own way.

50

:

It doesn't feel like you're as high.

51

:

We were at the very top, basically.

52

:

Where are we?

53

:

Yes.

54

:

Hi, as we could go behind, hopefully.

55

:

Behind where we were sitting in.

56

:

That's it?

57

:

Well, yeah, we were up there.

58

:

So we were in the nosebleeds as

they're often called, but you still

59

:

had a really great view of the field.

60

:

And I mean, it was clear that whatever

lights they use, like I wish they would

61

:

use those lights on the streets at night.

62

:

Because that light is just,

I could see everything when

63

:

HD clarity, I could see the.

64

:

They're 80 bitty guys.

65

:

I could tell who they were

because the big screen told me.

66

:

Right.

67

:

And it made sense.

68

:

So it was really cool.

69

:

I mean, I really appreciated the show.

70

:

I could hear everything really well.

71

:

The sound clarity in there was.

72

:

Just remarkable.

73

:

I was so impressed.

74

:

Yeah.

75

:

It's a, it's a, quite a feat.

76

:

The, uh, these stadiums are modern,

modern marvels in so many ways.

77

:

If you have vertigo, I wouldn't

recommend sitting where we sat.

78

:

It does get steep.

79

:

When you get up top there.

80

:

Yeah, but I mean, it, again,

it was, it feels scary.

81

:

I mean, maybe.

82

:

That's true for some people.

83

:

Were you scared pastors?

84

:

I wasn't, but I sat next to a few

people who had young children that were

85

:

kind of holding them back, like, okay,

don't lean forward too much because a.

86

:

Yeah.

87

:

I saw a guy with this massive

hot dog and I wanted it.

88

:

Yes.

89

:

He's like six feet long.

90

:

I don't know how it was

big, whatever it was.

91

:

And I, and I, I might've

coveted that hot dog.

92

:

Yeah.

93

:

We may.

94

:

Ballpark food is expensive though.

95

:

Well, yeah.

96

:

Somebody and like how many

hundreds of dollars is this,

97

:

does this thing cost now, but the

inflation, you know, you never know.

98

:

Exactly, but it did look good.

99

:

Yeah, him and his wife polished it off.

100

:

Otherwise I would have

asked for their leftovers.

101

:

Well, they got to pay the air

conditioning that building.

102

:

Now, how much does it

cost to air condition?

103

:

That building?

104

:

I have no estimation.

105

:

I man I've I have zero idea.

106

:

I mean, cause it's a big building

it's got to be, and it was very

107

:

different from the outside.

108

:

We keep it at 72.

109

:

That's all your low temperature.

110

:

Well, I mean for the games.

111

:

Yeah.

112

:

Good.

113

:

Yeah.

114

:

I remember growing up, going

to the old ballpark, which we

115

:

drove by to get to that one.

116

:

It's that red brick building

that Choctaw Choctaw.

117

:

It used to be called the

ballpark in Arlington, which

118

:

was a much better name for it.

119

:

But, um, yeah, I'd go there

and pay five bucks, you know?

120

:

Five bucks for a ticket, 10 bucks

to park five bucks for a ticket,

121

:

and I'd get, be able to go watch a

ballgame there, but then you have

122

:

to endure the outside weather.

123

:

Yeah.

124

:

And that's true.

125

:

But if you knew where to sit, you

knew which side the sun set on first.

126

:

And so you could sit over there and what's

the shade hit, then it was tolerable,

127

:

but then you forget the humidity.

128

:

Because that part.

129

:

That plays a pretty big role.

130

:

I've learned.

131

:

Yeah.

132

:

In Texas, the humidity does

play a pretty substantial factor

133

:

in what it feels like outside.

134

:

That's true.

135

:

But if you're there to watch

the game, once the sun goes

136

:

down, the sun is just the, the.

137

:

The brutal part.

138

:

If you love the game enough.

139

:

And once you, once the sound goes

down, then it's like, oh, this is fine.

140

:

But if you don't like the game, if

you're there because you love the

141

:

church, then it's a different experience.

142

:

That's my guess.

143

:

That's fair.

144

:

And if you happen to have gone to

an angels game and you were in the

145

:

sun because you love the church.

146

:

Then maybe you didn't

have such a good time.

147

:

Yeah.

148

:

Well just throwing it out there.

149

:

And perhaps you showed up late to

the game and you went to the parking

150

:

lot, parking lot queue out here and

you paid $35 plus tax, which ended up

151

:

being 37 and change to park and said

parking lot only to walk by that parking

152

:

attendant and see everybody leaving.

153

:

All the parking attendants, leaving.

154

:

All of them left, which means

I could have driven in there.

155

:

10 minutes later and gotten free parking.

156

:

But it wasn't God's plan.

157

:

Which we'll talk about

on Sunday that's plan.

158

:

I don't know why God wanted me to

spend $37 and 28 cents on parking.

159

:

I don't know.

160

:

Maybe there's an answer in

Proverbs 10, 11, and 12.

161

:

I feel like I'm being disciplined by the

Lord because that's where we're going in.

162

:

Today's daily Bible reading,

or do you even love me anymore?

163

:

Hey, as we get into this section

of Proverbs, one thing to note is

164

:

starting here with this chapter

and extending through Proverbs 22.

165

:

Really, we come to a, what we most

often think of as the Proverbs, and

166

:

that means there's not necessarily

a unifying theme in these chapters.

167

:

Unlike the first nine chapters.

168

:

Uh, there's not a common

thread that goes through or a

169

:

common story that goes through.

170

:

Instead they're filled with

kind of individual provers.

171

:

Uh, pithy statements of

wisdom here and there.

172

:

Warnings against folly.

173

:

Th there may be groupings of these

Proverbs that all have a similar topic,

174

:

but typically you won't be able to

define a topic for an entire chapter.

175

:

Uh, so our approach to these chapters

as we go through these episodes on the

176

:

podcast is probably going to be more

to, to highlight some of our favorite

177

:

Proverbs in each one, rather than trying

to summarize the chapter as a whole.

178

:

It's going to take longer.

179

:

Yeah, it can take longer now.

180

:

Yeah.

181

:

Yeah, well, chapter 10, uh,

Verses one through five.

182

:

An example of a section of provers and

linked by a common theme, even though

183

:

I just said there there's not much

in the theme of this section is, is

184

:

really kind of hard work and diligence.

185

:

Uh, the Lord does not let

the righteous go hungry.

186

:

He thought the craving of the wicked

though, a slack hand causes poverty, but

187

:

the hand of the diligent makes rich, so

there's something there, but the Lord.

188

:

Rewards hard work that we're to

labor and he's going to care for

189

:

and provide for those that, that

give themselves towards that.

190

:

Um,

191

:

Proper chapter.

192

:

10 verse nine, whoever walks in

integrity, walks securely, but he who

193

:

makes his ways crooked will be found out.

194

:

Uh, the safety in our integrity is,

is a common theme that we're going to

195

:

pick up on more and more throughout

the book of provers as it unfolds.

196

:

Uh, verse 12, love covers all

offenses, pastor, rod, let's

197

:

talk through that for a second.

198

:

Love covers all offenses.

199

:

So w how do I balance that with.

200

:

Galatians six, which says that if

anyone is caught in a trespass,

201

:

that we are called to restore that

person in a spirit of gentleness

202

:

and love because we care for them.

203

:

So.

204

:

If I'm supposed to cover an offense

and yet I'm, I'm not to let it go.

205

:

According to Paul in Galatians

six, how did these things balance

206

:

or how do we understand them

in concert with each other?

207

:

Man?

208

:

That's a fun question to think

through, because I think there's a

209

:

couple nuanced answers and I think

the first begins with the idea that.

210

:

I love covering and offense

doesn't mean love for getting

211

:

or sweeping under the rug.

212

:

Now I, so here's a, here's a, here's

a connecting point here in chapter 17.

213

:

Verse nine.

214

:

And we have another similar sounding

verse, but it says whoever covers an

215

:

offense seeks love, but he who repeats

a matter separates, close friends.

216

:

So there is something to say

with we're dealing with it.

217

:

We're not just a, I'm not just

sweeping it under the rug.

218

:

Um, there are, there are going

to be times when that happens.

219

:

Of course, we're going to, you're going

to offend me by saying something silly

220

:

or I'm going to offend you by, by.

221

:

You know, joking too

much about this or that.

222

:

And probably doesn't warrant a

face-to-face conversation and a

223

:

confrontation, but there's lots of times

where love will cause us to do that.

224

:

Love will say, I think we

need to talk about this.

225

:

I care about you.

226

:

I care about our friendship.

227

:

I care about.

228

:

Our relationship.

229

:

And so I want to cover this, um, In a

way that says, I want to deal with it.

230

:

I want it to be covered, dealt

with buried and taken away.

231

:

Not, not that we're just

forgetting about it.

232

:

And.

233

:

Kind of dancing around the issue.

234

:

So I think love does decide in the

moment whether this is worth pursuing

235

:

and saying, I need to do something about

this, or whether love just says that.

236

:

I let it go.

237

:

Um, because there is a time to

restore someone in a spirit of

238

:

gentleness and that is a loving act.

239

:

Uh, it depends on the scenario

and it takes wisdom to know which

240

:

one is which, and I think that's

kind of what it's getting at.

241

:

Yeah, this theme is repeated in

the new Testament in James five

242

:

20 in first, Peter four eight.

243

:

They both refer back to love, covering a

multitude of sins, but I agree with you.

244

:

Your assessment there of the, the

knowledge and the wisdom to know.

245

:

Kind of how to lean in and where

to lean in on those things.

246

:

Um, yeah.

247

:

Uh, how about verse 23 verse 23.

248

:

We have a.

249

:

Statement here doing wrong is like

a joke to a fool, but wisdom is

250

:

pleasure to a man of understanding.

251

:

Uh, this is a good proper for us as,

as parents to bring to our children, to

252

:

encourage them and remind them of the

importance of the choices they make.

253

:

As far as their friendships go.

254

:

Um, when you have somebody that, that

goofs off and jokes around and, and,

255

:

and sins, and thinks that there's a

bunch of pleasure and in front of their,

256

:

it kind of goes back to the opening

chapter where he says, Hey, don't go

257

:

with the centers that are enticing

you to come in and do foolish things.

258

:

Um, and, and so making wise choices

about the company that we keep, uh,

259

:

is important here doing wrong as

like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is

260

:

pleasure to a man of understanding.

261

:

And so there's, there's a importance in.

262

:

I'm looking at your shirt right now.

263

:

Pastor rod propers 1320.

264

:

We'll get there eventually.

265

:

Yeah.

266

:

That, uh, the companion

of fools suffers harm.

267

:

And I think there's that thought here.

268

:

Thoughts on chapter 10.

269

:

Uh, yeah, I, this was a good chapter.

270

:

It was a biblical chapter and I loved it.

271

:

It was good.

272

:

I mean, I don't want to repeat

anything you're saying, because

273

:

you're saying good things.

274

:

Yeah.

275

:

I'm with you on that.

276

:

Great.

277

:

All right.

278

:

Why don't you take chapter 11?

279

:

I made some comments on chapter 10.

280

:

Why don't you give some

comments on chapter 11?

281

:

I can, I can go so slow.

282

:

Okay.

283

:

Ah, let let's, uh, let's start with this.

284

:

Start with verse four.

285

:

Uh, riches don't profit

in the day of wrath, but

286

:

righteousness delivers from death.

287

:

And I think this is helpful.

288

:

It's going to say something obvious that

you would say, well, yeah, of course you

289

:

can't buy your soul from the pit of hell.

290

:

We all know that Jesus blood alone

is the atonement for our sins, but I

291

:

think there's also something in there.

292

:

About the way that we invest our lives.

293

:

Uh, obviously we need to work for money.

294

:

We need to, we need to work hard and

get money, have a savings account, you

295

:

know, pay the, pay, the bills, et cetera.

296

:

At the end of the day, though.

297

:

We don't want to work for money.

298

:

We want to work for God and we

want to work for the kingdom.

299

:

Now Matthew chapter six, right?

300

:

Seek first, the kingdom of heaven, the

kingdom of God and his righteousness.

301

:

And so there is a way to live life

that shows I'm not living for money.

302

:

I'm living for Christ.

303

:

Money happens to be incidental

to my living for Christ.

304

:

And therefore I'm living a

certain life in a certain way

305

:

that shows my trust is not there.

306

:

My trust is in Christ

in his righteousness.

307

:

And in that way, my

righteousness is displayed.

308

:

I'm delivered from death because

it's my faith operating in the way

309

:

that my checkbook is balanced or

not balanced as the case may be.

310

:

So, uh, verse eight connects

to that the righteous is

311

:

delivered from trouble, trouble.

312

:

Uh, and the wicked walks into it instead.

313

:

Uh, we're able to see things

that other people can't see.

314

:

And you're going to talk

about this two months, Sunday.

315

:

Uh, we're able to see things

because God has given us his wisdom.

316

:

We have his word to see the, to

see things that others either.

317

:

Uh, choose not to see, or they

suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

318

:

And that's a really helpful thing for us.

319

:

We're able to see things

because God has opened our eyes.

320

:

So when we see our neighbors making

bad decisions, we see them investing in

321

:

things that they shouldn't invest in.

322

:

Uh, we don't want to gloat over

them and say, well, what kind of

323

:

foolishness has happened, man?

324

:

Thank you, Lord, that I'm able to

see this and we pray that they would

325

:

and your good Providence see the

same that they would understand who

326

:

they are and who they're meant to be

according to what the scripture say.

327

:

There's a couple of quick thoughts.

328

:

That's the PG.

329

:

Give us a few more.

330

:

Yeah.

331

:

I love verse 14 that there is safety

in an abundance of counselors.

332

:

That's one that I'll go to often.

333

:

Um, When people are trying to make

a decision, this is one of the ways

334

:

that people can answer the question.

335

:

How can we tell God's will for our life?

336

:

If it's a situation when I've

got two, two choices and neither

337

:

one is necessarily sinful.

338

:

How do I know what God's will for my life

is well there's wisdom in an abundance

339

:

of counselors to be able to make that

decision without fear of, of, uh, or, or

340

:

need to be able to go chapter and verse.

341

:

This is what you should do.

342

:

Let me ask a clarifying question there.

343

:

Yeah, because.

344

:

What, um, when we first got married before

set kids, there's also the first in your

345

:

life where you something happens, right.

346

:

Lots of people have wisdom.

347

:

They want to offer you lots of people

and an abundance of counselors.

348

:

You might say, I want to offer

you their advice and their

349

:

counsel about this or that.

350

:

And often some of it is kind of

contrary to the other, you know,

351

:

someone says they should do this.

352

:

And then the person says,

no, you should do that.

353

:

Um, how do you navigate that?

354

:

When there's lots of people

are saying different things.

355

:

Yeah, hopefully.

356

:

You'll find a situation where you've got.

357

:

More people saying one

thing then than the other.

358

:

But hopefully yeah, in a

perfect world, we might say.

359

:

But that's not always

going to be the case.

360

:

I do think there's some,

you're going to wait.

361

:

People's advice and in

different ways, um, yeah.

362

:

You know, based on your confidence in

that person, your trust in that person.

363

:

I hopefully, and I don't say

this in a self-serving manner for

364

:

either of us, but hopefully you

trust your pastors and you trust.

365

:

You know, the, the wisdom and insight

that God has given your pastors.

366

:

And so I think you should weigh

heavily, uh, the counsel that your

367

:

pastors give you on decisions.

368

:

If, if you come to us and seek

our guidance, seek our will.

369

:

Um, same thing I would say with,

with your spouse, if you're married

370

:

and your spouse is a believer, uh, I

would, I would hope that you would.

371

:

Recognize that God has given your spouse

to you to help you make decisions.

372

:

Men, your wives have been given

to you by God with wisdom to

373

:

help you make decisions yet.

374

:

Ultimately, the buck stops with you.

375

:

You're going to lead your family.

376

:

You're going to make the final decision,

but that doesn't mean that your wife

377

:

doesn't have wise things and wise

counsel to bring to the table on that.

378

:

So I think there are ways that

if, if you've got multiple people

379

:

chiming in that you're probably

going to weigh some peoples.

380

:

Counsel higher than you might wait.

381

:

Somebody else's counsel.

382

:

It sounds like you're saying

it takes wisdom to even

383

:

hear the wisdom from others.

384

:

Yes.

385

:

Wow.

386

:

It's like you're in an

endless loop of wisdom.

387

:

And loosely God, you just need God.

388

:

Every, even, even areas was like, oh,

you can get wisdom from these people.

389

:

You still need God to give

you wisdom to discern wisdom.

390

:

Right.

391

:

Is this the right path?

392

:

Is that the right thing at the right time?

393

:

Ma'am you need the word

and you need the word.

394

:

Uh, you need God, the God of the word

in order to discern these things.

395

:

Yeah.

396

:

How desperate we are.

397

:

Yeah.

398

:

How about for 17 as well?

399

:

A man who is kind benefits himself book.

400

:

Sanctified self-interest hurts themselves.

401

:

Yeah.

402

:

The old saying you catch

more flies with honey, right?

403

:

Yeah.

404

:

It's.

405

:

Yeah.

406

:

Th the, the patients with.

407

:

We're an assault gun or an assault gun.

408

:

Yeah.

409

:

But the old.

410

:

The idea of being patient with the

customer service representative can

411

:

pay off for you in the end, rather

than getting mad at that person.

412

:

You might find that, oh man, if I'm kind

to this person, it may pay off for me.

413

:

And yeah, they may be willing

to go the extra mile to, to help

414

:

me out with my situation rather

than if I'm short with them or.

415

:

Terse with them or angry with them then.

416

:

You know, I, it may not work

out for me in the end, so.

417

:

A real sharp.

418

:

Yeah.

419

:

Uh, we'll skip over the ring in a pig.

420

:

Snout is like a beautiful

woman without discretion.

421

:

Uh, how about chapter 12?

422

:

Then we get into chapter 12, verse one.

423

:

I love that whoever loves

discipline, loves knowledge, but

424

:

he who hates reproof is stupid.

425

:

Yeah, it is, it is, but such a

good reminder for us that we should

426

:

welcome and embrace and love.

427

:

Uh, reproved from people that we love.

428

:

Iron sharpens iron.

429

:

We're going to get there in

the not too distant future.

430

:

That's kind of the idea here that

that's a sh that's a painful process.

431

:

And so you need to have people

in your life that are going to

432

:

speak that truth into your life.

433

:

But also this discipline, I think

ultimately is the discipline

434

:

that comes from the Lord.

435

:

Because the Lord disciplines,

those whom he loves.

436

:

And so we shouldn't.

437

:

Uh, great against that.

438

:

We shouldn't.

439

:

Uh, chief against that.

440

:

We should welcome that and love that

in a sense, because we know that

441

:

God is sanctifying us in that sense.

442

:

Yes.

443

:

Right.

444

:

I really like verse 10.

445

:

I always zero in on this one

because it, it strikes me as unique.

446

:

It's kind of.

447

:

Uh, violate my expectation, so to

speak, even though it's perfectly

448

:

fitting, look at verse 10.

449

:

Whoever is righteous has regard

for the life of his beast.

450

:

But the mercy of the wicked.

451

:

Even that is cruel.

452

:

Um, this word here for regard regarding

the life of your bees, is that the

453

:

same word that comes from knowledge?

454

:

You have that.

455

:

Uh, it means to note, to just have

intimate knowledge of, or at least to have

456

:

a really good awareness of the righteous

people have an expansive care, even up

457

:

through, and extending to creation the

animals that you, that you are around.

458

:

Uh, and the wicked person.

459

:

Uh, alternatively has it not an expansive

care, but it kind of a contracting care.

460

:

They kind of like a dying star.

461

:

They collapse into themselves.

462

:

They're just self, self focused, even

their, even their niceness is cruel.

463

:

And in this particular

instance, your verse 10.

464

:

So I think about this and, and

view of how we care for creation.

465

:

You know, we're still called to be

stewards of the creation around us.

466

:

And that includes, uh, in some

way, shape or form for the animal

467

:

kingdom, what that looks like.

468

:

And I don't know what that

looks like for you, pastor Pete.

469

:

I know you have a dog named Patrick.

470

:

If I'm not mistaken.

471

:

That's not it it's pretty close though.

472

:

Right?

473

:

Patrick.

474

:

Uh, so Maverick.

475

:

Okay.

476

:

I don't know.

477

:

I, I, I.

478

:

Maybe I'm saying too much here.

479

:

I think other people probably do this too.

480

:

Whenever I see an animal crossing

the road, I will deliberately

481

:

try not to run it over.

482

:

Like I will move my car out of the way.

483

:

I don't want to create an

accident in the process.

484

:

So if I have to run a thing over,

I will, but I haven't had to yet.

485

:

I will, I will stop my car or go

around it and I'll try to provide

486

:

path so that the animal can escape.

487

:

Um, I think this is a, an

example of something like that.

488

:

How do you interpret this

and where might you apply it?

489

:

Yeah, I think you're right on that.

490

:

I there's something about,

you know, God's creation.

491

:

Um, and, and recognizing

them as God's creation.

492

:

And I think there's a difference between

a mosquito that you're going to smack

493

:

off of your arm and, and kill that, that

mosquito higher life forms and lower life.

494

:

Exactly.

495

:

Conversation.

496

:

Yeah.

497

:

So I am in agreement with

your assessment on that.

498

:

Yeah, I think that's cool.

499

:

I don't think we're PETA activists.

500

:

Nope.

501

:

We still should eat them.

502

:

And where their, where

their skins as closed.

503

:

For that and put their

scans on our Bibles.

504

:

Yeah.

505

:

Minion intimate.

506

:

Right.

507

:

Uh, so taking dominion doesn't mean

trashing the place and misusing it.

508

:

It means a sanctified stewardship

taking care of it and utilizing

509

:

it for its good and noble purpose.

510

:

Yeah.

511

:

Yeah.

512

:

How about verse 14 from

the fruit of his mouth?

513

:

A man is satisfied with good in the

work of a man's hand comes back to him.

514

:

Uh, your, your hard work, your work

ethic is going to impact your wellbeing.

515

:

Uh, you work hard.

516

:

You're going to be rewarded for that.

517

:

That's what verse 14 is saying, as well as

what you say is going to come back to you.

518

:

Um, the, the words in your mouth are going

to either bear fruit or, or the opposite.

519

:

And we're going to get to that

more in Proverbs chapter 18,

520

:

which is all about communication.

521

:

Uh, but here we are talking about

the tongue, which is a key theme

522

:

in the book of Proverbs as well.

523

:

First 21.

524

:

No ill befalls the righteous.

525

:

But the wicked are filled with trouble.

526

:

Um, again, not a guarantee, not a

promise to take to the bank and say,

527

:

God, you said, no, it would be follow me.

528

:

I think this fits into the

category of Romans 8 28.

529

:

God.

530

:

God ordains all things for his

glory and our good, and that

531

:

means no ultimate ill be falls.

532

:

The righteous, ultimately there's

nothing that happens to you.

533

:

It's all for you because it will

ultimately lead to his glory.

534

:

And that includes everything.

535

:

I think anyway, everything,

everything that happens to your life.

536

:

Is, uh, evidence of his righteous and

good rulership and it will ultimately

537

:

lead to his glory into your good.

538

:

Yeah.

539

:

How about verse 16 tobacco there?

540

:

The vexation of a fool is known at

once, but the prudent ignores an insult.

541

:

That's a, another one of those.

542

:

Those those temper temperance, um, Uh,

Proverbs there that we need to be careful.

543

:

We need to be, uh, watchful.

544

:

We need to be patient with our vexation.

545

:

Somebody cuts you off on the road, right?

546

:

Is your vexation immediately known.

547

:

Or are you willing to ignore the insult?

548

:

Um, that's like I only honk.

549

:

There you go.

550

:

That's it I'll make it.

551

:

I'll let my face know it though.

552

:

Yeah, just honk loud.

553

:

The other day we were, well, we

were on the way to the baseball

554

:

game and I was coming up behind

somebody at the red light and in.

555

:

They should've been going.

556

:

And so.

557

:

Normally I laid on the horn.

558

:

I just give a small little town.

559

:

Like a little peep dude.

560

:

Just to wake somebody up to get

them to stop looking at their

561

:

phone and look up the road.

562

:

We give a little bit too much.

563

:

Honestly, it was an accident.

564

:

But, uh, they, they were displeased.

565

:

They gave you, they say you're number one.

566

:

Yup.

567

:

Yeah.

568

:

They were displeased with me

and my kids were like, what, why

569

:

were they, what were they doing?

570

:

I was like, don't worry about it.

571

:

We're good.

572

:

We're good.

573

:

Yeah.

574

:

Verse 22.

575

:

Speaking of things that are displeasing

lying lips are not just displeasing.

576

:

They are an abomination to the Lord, but

those who act fatefully are his delight.

577

:

You're going to see lots of.

578

:

Uh, I mean, there's lots of passages

and the provers that talk about the

579

:

words that we use and God hates lying.

580

:

Yeah.

581

:

He doesn't like when we say something

that is contrary to truth, whether

582

:

it be something as seemingly

innocuous as flattery, or whether

583

:

it's just a bold face, lie, something

that we're just deliberately

584

:

saying something that's not true.

585

:

So be careful with your words,

God cares about your words.

586

:

He doesn't want them to be

anything other than what's right.

587

:

And true.

588

:

Yeah.

589

:

About verse 25 anxiety in a

man's heart, weighs him down,

590

:

but a good word makes him glad.

591

:

And a good word.

592

:

That's encouraging for me because a

lot of times we talk about anxiety

593

:

and we talk about, okay, Psalm

55, 22 Castro burns on the Lord.

594

:

He will sustain you or Philippians

four that we're supposed to

595

:

go to the Lord and prayer.

596

:

Here.

597

:

It talks about how we can.

598

:

Be a relief to anxiety in one

another's lives by coming along

599

:

and speaking and encouraging word.

600

:

A good word.

601

:

Uh, to somebody who's battling

anxiety at the time can, can brighten

602

:

their day and lift their heart.

603

:

So.

604

:

Take courage there that, that you can

have that impact on somebody else's

605

:

life exhort one another every day.

606

:

Yep.

607

:

As long as it's called today.

608

:

Get to work.

609

:

Yep.

610

:

Well, there you go.

611

:

There's Proverbs 10, 11, and 12.

612

:

We've got more provers

coming out to you tomorrow.

613

:

So keep it in your Bibles and

tune in again for another episode

614

:

of the daily Bible podcast.

615

:

We'll see you then.

616

:

Bye.
