Hey luv,

in today’s episode I’m really excited. We have listeners from Finland , the US and A, Germany, Canada and the Arabic Emirates already. Thank you so much for being curious. I want to bring you peace and self reflection. The better we know and care about ourselves the more we can care and support others and live a fulfilling life :) the body can be seen as a separate entity. If you don’t give it what it needs it affects your emotional and mental well-being . On the flip side , when we know exactly what our body needs we are not only healthy but confident, resilient and caring with others . I’m a physio nerd :) and so passionate about the wonders of the body. Thank you for listening and focussing on yourself cause you’re so worth it .

Love Aurora

Unknown:

Hello, and welcome to the Borealis experience. I'm

Unknown:

your host Aurora. And today I'm especially excited because I

Unknown:

just saw where my listeners are coming from, in which part of

Unknown:

the world people are listening to my podcast. And that's just

Unknown:

super, super cool for me to see. So we have people from Canada

Unknown:

from usna, Finland, Germany, and the Arabic Emirates, thank you

Unknown:

so much for listening, and I hope I can bring you peace and

Unknown:

joy and self reflection into your life. Because I know I feel

Unknown:

the better we know ourselves, the better we know what is good

Unknown:

for us, the better we feel about ourselves. And the more

Unknown:

compassionate, more helpful, supportive we can be with

Unknown:

others. And this is what I want to bring to you. The last couple

Unknown:

of times. So this is still a season one, this is the

Unknown:

introduction of the Borealis experience. I dissected the self

Unknown:

into body emotion, thoughts, so the mind history, relationships.

Unknown:

And today I want to dive in to the physical body and how the

Unknown:

physical body is deeply affecting our well being. So one

Unknown:

thing is really obvious is when pain is inflicted from the

Unknown:

outside. So when we have an accident when we fall when we

Unknown:

hit our elbow, then it is pain that we feel but also

Unknown:

emotionally, sometimes just temporarily short lived, changes

Unknown:

our mood, and sometimes over a longer period of time if the

Unknown:

pain is staying as a visitor for longer. When you get sick when

Unknown:

you feel sick. When you have the flu, for instance, you also

Unknown:

don't feel awesome. emotionally and mentally, if you're weak,

Unknown:

you feel powerless. And sometimes everything just gets

Unknown:

dark just because your body is not feeling well. Now there is

Unknown:

more subtle ways that the body will be in a slightly stressful

Unknown:

situation. But not enough to make it obvious. And it still

Unknown:

will change your mood. And if it happens over a longer period of

Unknown:

time, it can change your whole hormonal household we say in

Unknown:

German. I hope you say that in English too. But you might

Unknown:

understand when I go more into detail now. So when we don't

Unknown:

drink enough water when there's a water deficit, a hydration is

Unknown:

very important when we experience low sugar, and this,

Unknown:

in my case has nothing to do with diabetes. It's very normal

Unknown:

that for instance, you eat high sugary, sugary stuff in the

Unknown:

morning, that around 1130 or 1030, you experience a low where

Unknown:

you have to snack and have to eat something because otherwise

Unknown:

you feel dizzy or don't feel good, then heat and cold. And

Unknown:

not enough oxygen can also change your mood on a very

Unknown:

subtle level without you even noticing. And there might be

Unknown:

people around you who notice and get impatient with you or

Unknown:

irritated and you don't even understand why because you get

Unknown:

irritated. Your body gets irritated and is trying to

Unknown:

communicate to you what it needs, but you don't get it in

Unknown:

the moment but get impatient and not pleasant to be around. Then

Unknown:

we have physical touch, of course, consensual and not

Unknown:

consensual. I think we all have been in a situation before where

Unknown:

a person that we don't necessarily like came too close

Unknown:

approached our personal space too intensely and then you have

Unknown:

a feeling that comes up it's very different for every Buddy.

Unknown:

But I think you know what I mean when we talk about non

Unknown:

consensual physical touch, and then consensual Of course you

Unknown:

feel appreciated cared for sexually aroused. So all those

Unknown:

feelings come up. And it is through the physical body that

Unknown:

you feel something emotionally. So I like to see the body as a

Unknown:

separate entity, even like, I had this super crazy experience,

Unknown:

one day I received a massage from a massage therapist. And I

Unknown:

had kind of an outer body experience there, I felt my body

Unknown:

as if it was an animal breathing there and receiving the awesome

Unknown:

healing touch and I was hovering above and just experiencing it

Unknown:

from the outside. So ever since I see my body as a separate

Unknown:

entity, and are way better connected to it, I feel I can

Unknown:

understand my body way better. And in this episode here, I want

Unknown:

to try and put it into words so that you can be more careful and

Unknown:

aware of the subtle signals that the body gives us at times. So

Unknown:

when you really learn to understand it and know how to

Unknown:

read it, then you can be a master of your health. And it is

Unknown:

so fascinating because every body is different, every

Unknown:

physical body is different. And is has to be treated differently

Unknown:

than the other. So in episode three, we talked about emotions,

Unknown:

so energy in motion, and I will now draw you a picture on how

Unknown:

your emotional state influences your physical well being. So

Unknown:

think about a school kid. And it gets rewarded with TV TV

Unknown:

watching an ice cream or some sort of treats after receiving a

Unknown:

grade mark in his or her math test, math exam. So in the kids

Unknown:

subconscious now is branded, if I'm a good student, I get a

Unknown:

reward, namely, treats and positive feedback from my

Unknown:

caregiver. In adulthood now, it's very likely that this

Unknown:

person will have sugary treats, or the same rewards he received

Unknown:

as a child, then they're now in adulthood, and the body will

Unknown:

actually send out hormones to signal I want treats now. So it

Unknown:

all happens on a very subconscious level, you will

Unknown:

just feel that you have a craving for something sweet

Unknown:

because you did something good. And this is what you used to.

Unknown:

And this is called conditioning. And a lot of people I've met who

Unknown:

struggled with obesity can recall situations in their

Unknown:

childhood, where food was used as a tool to reward or punish

Unknown:

like think about the children who have been bad have to go to

Unknown:

bed without dessert or something. There is on a very

Unknown:

deep level this connection and the child's brain made that food

Unknown:

is something that needs to be worked for that you have to

Unknown:

behave a certain way in order to get it. Think about the lab rat

Unknown:

that is being trained with treats and electroshocks.

Unknown:

Another example of how the physical body or the other way

Unknown:

around emotions affect the physical body is a person who

Unknown:

constantly lives in fear of let's say the job or partner or

Unknown:

the boss more specifically. And if that is happening over a

Unknown:

longer period of time, the person has that subtle,

Unknown:

uncomfortable feeling in her chest for a longer period of

Unknown:

time. Then it will also start showing and fizzle cause

Unknown:

symptoms

Unknown:

because there's a build up an overdose of stress hormones in

Unknown:

the blood. And the body is actually signaled to fight or

Unknown:

flight. So simple things like digestion or sleep can be

Unknown:

totally thrown off then, because the body receives stress from

Unknown:

the outside, and has to process that, and we are still not

Unknown:

really evolved physically, if you think about it, yeah, from

Unknown:

the mind, we're trying to keep up with social media or like

Unknown:

with all the technology, but on a physical level, we're still in

Unknown:

stone age, and it will take us probably 10,000 years for the

Unknown:

physical body to adjust to our lifestyle right now. And I tell

Unknown:

you what, I think we should hold on to the sporty, sporty

Unknown:

physical person who used to having to run away from a saber

Unknown:

toothed tigers. Because that's how the body wants to feel like

Unknown:

and be used. Like, so the second example was a person who's

Unknown:

constantly exposed to stress. And that will also over time,

Unknown:

change her hormonal household her balance inside of her and

Unknown:

throw her off in ways that are very hard to connect. A lot of

Unknown:

times, especially here in North America, you go to the doctor

Unknown:

and say, oh, yeah, I have a sore belly after eating. And he's

Unknown:

just going to give you pills for acid reflux, and not ask any

Unknown:

questions of constant stress or not going to provide you with

Unknown:

tools that could help you additionally, like additionally

Unknown:

to medical medication. So the things that influence us from

Unknown:

the outside can actually physically harm us if they push

Unknown:

us out of alignment into a state of fear, stress. And the immune

Unknown:

system, consequently, then suffers too. And we not always

Unknown:

connected back to how do we feel emotionally on a daily basis. I

Unknown:

want to finish on a positive note. Talk about positive

Unknown:

stress, because this is also a beautiful way the physical body

Unknown:

can reward you with a strong and healthy immune system and

Unknown:

oxytocin, the happy hormone. So whenever we are curious and open

Unknown:

to try something new, we grow. And especially if we are scared

Unknown:

about something or underestimate ourselves. So when we reached,

Unknown:

accomplish something that at the beginning, we thought we would

Unknown:

we could never accomplish. And that really strengthens our

Unknown:

confidence. And we become more resilient, our muscles are

Unknown:

healthy and flexible, and the immune system is strong and

Unknown:

healthy, and you can really fight off different kinds of

Unknown:

stressors. When you go through positive stress, what is a

Unknown:

positive stress? Let's say you are starting a new hobby. And

Unknown:

we're always scared of ice skating. And now it's been your

Unknown:

third lesson and you're actually doing really good or you always

Unknown:

wanted to try to play the piano. But your brother was always the

Unknown:

better piano player so you never really pursued it. And now you

Unknown:

sit down and actually practice and see that you have a

Unknown:

beautiful talent has to be revealed as well. And those are

Unknown:

positive stresses that over the time now in my episodes I want

Unknown:

to emphasize for you to chase them because they make us feel

Unknown:

good they make you feel confident and you just radiate a

Unknown:

totally different energy. Once you reach that state of

Unknown:

happiness deep contentment I'm a physio So I'm super passionate

Unknown:

about the body and health and ever since small, I was always

Unknown:

fascinated about how we can influence our body and change

Unknown:

and learn to understand it. So I hope I was able to share my

Unknown:

passion, my excitement with the body a little bit today. And now

Unknown:

I would like you to please take a second and put your hands on

Unknown:

your heart. And I hope you're not driving a car, or a bicycle

Unknown:

or anything. Maybe you're sitting at home on your favorite

Unknown:

couch, or even if you're walking, it doesn't matter if

Unknown:

someone somebody sees you put your hand on your heart.

Unknown:

And maybe you can feel your heartbeat feel slow and deep

Unknown:

breathing us. And I wanted to send deep appreciation for your

Unknown:

healthy body now into your body.

Unknown:

And that appreciation goes through every cell of your body.

Unknown:

Thank you for being healthy. And if you're battling a sickness,

Unknown:

if you're in discomfort right now, if you're in pain, then

Unknown:

let's send some appreciation to that pain. And trust the cells

Unknown:

the intelligence that created you trust them that they're

Unknown:

always trying to guide you towards health again. And

Unknown:

sometimes we have a sickness, a pain because we've gone too far

Unknown:

away from ourselves. We didn't listen to ourselves. And we're

Unknown:

just supposed to get back to the roots and tune back into you to

Unknown:

our body. And just trust that your body is constantly working

Unknown:

on healing you, making you feel whole and free. We just got to

Unknown:

allow it. We just got to listen attentively. And then we can

Unknown:

additionally to medication. I'm not saying drop all the

Unknown:

medication but additionally to medication. You can help your

Unknown:

body get back to health

Unknown:

All right. So that was a little bit of connection to your body.

Unknown:

I'm so grateful that we were able to spend some time together

Unknown:

today. I hope I was able to give you some interesting infills

Unknown:

here on their Borealis experience. I'm your host Aurora

Unknown:

and I'm so excited to be posting new episodes soon.

Unknown:

I hope you're doing well. I care about you. Focus on yourself a

Unknown:

little bit each day because you're so worth it. Bye bye
