Amen.

Good morning, and Praise the Lord! Today is Thursday August 29, 2024, and we remember the Beheading of the Holy and Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John.

All Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, forgive us our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your name's sake.

Lord have mercy (3x)

Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and ever and to the ages of ages.

Amen.

Matthew 14:1-13

Acts 13:25-33

Mark 6:14-30

Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, present everywhere and filling all things. Come and abide in us, cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls gracious Lord.

Theological science, which is taught in academic institutions and has become an intellectual specialization open to all, does not give knowledge of God. Knowledge of God comes from life in God, which is born in the deepest place of the hearts. One can be a great scholar, with academic qualifications, and yet remain completely ignorant about the path of salvation."
