Shownotes

In today’s episode, I’m talking about slowing down without feeling overwhelmed by racing thoughts and emotions. For years, I believed the safest thing to do was push difficult emotions down.

But feelings don't disappear simply because we ignore them. They stay with us, often showing up in our relationships, reactions, and even our physical health. Learning to acknowledge those emotions (rather than numb them) is an essential part of healing + living more fully!

The good news? You don't have to unpack everything at once. Just like training a young horse or building strength over time, emotional resilience grows with consistent practice. Choose grace and compassion, and trust that your capacity will grow with time.

In this episode, I cover:

  • Why unfelt emotions don't just “disappear” + what they can show up as
  • Simple analogies to help with growing your capacity & feeling your feelings
  • Why slowing down begins with compassion & grace for yourself
  • Creating a safe space and/or finding a safe person to share your feelings with
  • Starting super slow + really acknowledging your emotions
  • Why feeling difficult emotions allows you to fully experience joy + happiness
  • Understanding that healing can happen when you’re in community
