Shownotes

Do you ever have times when you see repeating patterns all over the place? It might be numbers, words, feather, rocks, cars – anything. But they repeat, you suddenly see them everywhere. You might have wondered “is there is any meaning to these or are they just random occurrences?” So let’s explore – just what do coincidences mean, anyway?

First, I want you to stop ignoring your intuition.

Be aware of what is happening around you! We ask for signs, we pray for answers, but then we don’t pay attention.

In this episode, I’m going to talk about synchronicities, coincidences, and things that just seem too similar to not be connected. I see these things all the time, not only for myself but in others’ lives too, but then that is what I do. And that is what connectedness is – seeing the links between all life and seeing the links between all events and seeing the links that others largely ignore or miss. I wouldn’t dare try to tell you what the meaning behind the connection is for you, or for someone else, but I am rather good at tying things together and helping you find your meaning.

In this episode you will learn:

  • How to be open and aware to the world around you
  • How to spot and assess significant signs, coincidences and synchronicities in your life
  • That not all coincidences have meaning for you. And that’s OK.
  • How this all applies to your happiness and having a meaningful life.
  • How this all lets Spirit in so life is magical!

Ready to answer the question – what do coincidences mean?

I really hope to connect with you personally so please send me a message here or join me in my Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/connectednesswithrevkaren. And in the meantime, enjoy the show!

Transcripts

Rev Karen:

Let's dig into signs and coincidence is today.

Rev Karen:

I'm really excited to talk about these because.

Rev Karen:

I love.

Rev Karen:

Weird things like coincidences and synchronicities and signs.

Rev Karen:

So let's talk about what is a coincidence.

Rev Karen:

What I'm talking about are sequences of events that seem to have

Rev Karen:

been planned by an unseen force.

Rev Karen:

And they don't always make sense to us at the time.

Rev Karen:

In fact, They might even seem Erie or unusual . And you

Rev Karen:

think, that's really weird.

Rev Karen:

And I want to tell you, when you say that's really weird pay attention to that

Rev Karen:

but I'm going to talk about that later.

Rev Karen:

I posted a question on my Facebook page one time about coincidences.

Rev Karen:

And I got some really awesome responses because.

Rev Karen:

Coincidences seem really unexplainable and it's like, they're just too random.

Rev Karen:

They can't possibly have any meaning to them.

Rev Karen:

They're just two random.

Rev Karen:

I agree, there are times that maybe they don't have any meaning to them.

Rev Karen:

Maybe they are just random.

Rev Karen:

But we really need to pay attention . When there's some coincidences that

Rev Karen:

seem to happen over and over again.

Rev Karen:

Which are patterns, which I'll also talk about

Rev Karen:

But when I posted that question about having coincidences on my Facebook

Rev Karen:

page, some of the responses I got.

Rev Karen:

We're things like.

Rev Karen:

The apartment opening up, becoming vacant at just the right time.

Rev Karen:

And it was the right price within the budget.

Rev Karen:

It was in just the right location in the city.

Rev Karen:

So many things that it's beyond normal expectation.

Rev Karen:

That something like this would happen in our lives

Rev Karen:

another story is going on vacation to the complete other side of the world.

Rev Karen:

Literally.

Rev Karen:

And meeting.

Rev Karen:

Someone who you get along with who.

Rev Karen:

Turns out to be.

Rev Karen:

The kids of your parents' best friends or a distant relative that you have no idea

Rev Karen:

that you even have there, or maybe they happen to be vacationing at the same time.

Rev Karen:

We typically remember our coincidences with people.

Rev Karen:

Especially, because not only does it seem like there's so many variables

Rev Karen:

with a person we have to be, in just the right place at the right time.

Rev Karen:

And we have free will.

Rev Karen:

So at any point you could have turned left instead of right.

Rev Karen:

Or you could have stopped at the yellow light instead of gone through it.

Rev Karen:

And what had changed the entire timing and trajectory you were on?

Rev Karen:

So, not only are we making those decisions for ourselves and ending up where we

Rev Karen:

are when we are, but the other person also has to be making those decisions.

Rev Karen:

And so the chances that them being where you are at the same time and then being.

Rev Karen:

Someone impactful.

Rev Karen:

Seems just absolutely beyond reason.

Rev Karen:

And I get It's it seems so weird.

Rev Karen:

Sometimes when these things happen to us, it's really easy to just.

Rev Karen:

Kind of think.

Rev Karen:

Is there something meaningful to this?

Rev Karen:

Or is this just random?

Rev Karen:

Coincidence.

Rev Karen:

Running into this person.

Rev Karen:

I have a story that seemed absolutely crazy to me at the

Rev Karen:

time and totally against all odds.

Rev Karen:

Now.

Rev Karen:

This was many years ago.

Rev Karen:

For some reason I didn't have to work on an eight day particular day.

Rev Karen:

So at that time, I was a volunteer driver for a particular agency.

Rev Karen:

Because I wasn't working.

Rev Karen:

I called them up last minute and said, Hey does anyone need a ride today?

Rev Karen:

And they said, yeah, go pick up this person and take them to this place.

Rev Karen:

So I go, I pick them up and while I'm picking them up, they get another phone

Rev Karen:

call someone else's there to pick them up.

Rev Karen:

And it's like, oh, well that's okay.

Rev Karen:

You're already in the car.

Rev Karen:

I'll take you.

Rev Karen:

Let's go.

Rev Karen:

So somehow this person got double-booked, they weren't supposed to come

Rev Karen:

with me, but I take them down to where their appointment was, which

Rev Karen:

was kind of off the beaten track.

Rev Karen:

it was near Seattle, but it wasn't a place that.

Rev Karen:

A lot of people would be, unless you're specifically there for an appointment.

Rev Karen:

I dropped them off at the door and I go find a parking lot to sit in

Rev Karen:

while I wait for their appointment to

Rev Karen:

I sat in my car for awhile.

Rev Karen:

I'm not sure what I was doing.

Rev Karen:

I was probably reading or something, but I decided to stretch my legs.

Rev Karen:

So I opened the car door and I stand

Rev Karen:

And at the same time that I stand up outside my car.

Rev Karen:

Just a very random time.

Rev Karen:

Keep in mind.

Rev Karen:

A very, very good friend that I hadn't seen.

Rev Karen:

And had actually lost contact with.

Rev Karen:

Walked by in front of my

Rev Karen:

What are the odds?

Rev Karen:

That that was going to happen.

Rev Karen:

I was not supposed to be in that place.

Rev Karen:

At that time.

Rev Karen:

And he was not supposed to be in that place in that time.

Rev Karen:

In fact, he lived three hours away.

Rev Karen:

So how weird was that, that we were in that same place at that same time?

Rev Karen:

Was there, meaning to it.

Rev Karen:

I don't know, maybe.

Rev Karen:

In retrospect, I do believe there was meaning because then we ended up having.

Rev Karen:

So many coincidences, just odd things running into each

Rev Karen:

other at the weirdest places.

Rev Karen:

I do believe there was something going on behind the scenes that you can't see.

Rev Karen:

And maybe that's how it is for you too.

Rev Karen:

Sometimes.

Rev Karen:

You might have these coincidences.

Rev Karen:

That mean nothing at the time.

Rev Karen:

I mean, they're cool.

Rev Karen:

They're weird.

Rev Karen:

They're odd.

Rev Karen:

But in retrospect, when you look back and you can see the other

Rev Karen:

patterns that have evolved from.

Rev Karen:

Several similar events.

Rev Karen:

Then you can say, oh yeah, this was the start of, something that happened,

Rev Karen:

something significant in your life.

Rev Karen:

You don't always know when something happens.

Rev Karen:

If it's going to be.

Rev Karen:

Meaningful later, if it's going to be worth looking into or not.

Rev Karen:

And sometimes.

Rev Karen:

, even if we don't know right away,

Rev Karen:

when you feel like this is too weird.

Rev Karen:

And just take a look at it.

Rev Karen:

Take a look at it from a larger viewpoint.

Rev Karen:

I used to call it going to the moon.

Rev Karen:

I've heard other people refer to it as taking a 30,000 foot view.

Rev Karen:

As if you were in an airplane looking down.

Rev Karen:

If you stop and look at it.

Rev Karen:

From a very high level overview.

Rev Karen:

What happened?

Rev Karen:

What was the scenario?

Rev Karen:

Who were you with?

Rev Karen:

What was going on?

Rev Karen:

What was the situation?

Rev Karen:

And it's honestly like this with our dreams, our nocturnal dreams as well.

Rev Karen:

You know, if you have recurring dreams.

Rev Karen:

Look at the larger theme of these streams, because they can

Rev Karen:

give you a lot of information.

Rev Karen:

I know that when I feel like I want to hide, I don't want to be

Rev Karen:

seen, I don't want to get out there and be in the I have dreams about

Rev Karen:

needing to hide for my safety.

Rev Karen:

And it's not real, these aren't real things, but these

Rev Karen:

are things I can acknowledge.

Rev Karen:

And move on from and grow from.

Rev Karen:

So when you have something that's going on, that's weird like that.

Rev Karen:

It's really worth looking at.

Rev Karen:

If there are patterns.

Rev Karen:

And by patterns.

Rev Karen:

I mean, It can be as simple as seeing the same numbers everywhere.

Rev Karen:

Seeing the same car everywhere, seeing the same color.

Rev Karen:

Or the same things, or if you're considering buying.

Rev Karen:

A particular kitchen appliance.

Rev Karen:

It suddenly shows up everywhere.

Rev Karen:

And I'm not talking about the Facebook algorithm where you see what

Rev Karen:

you've searched for over and over.

Rev Karen:

I'm talking about out in the out in the world, things that show up and in

Rev Karen:

either a good or a bad , way , that seems to affirm what you want or to.

Rev Karen:

Lead you away from what you think you want.

Rev Karen:

And by patterns.

Rev Karen:

I also mean things as simple as.

Rev Karen:

Your body trying to tell you something when there's a pain in

Rev Karen:

it and you feel it over and over.

Rev Karen:

You would go to the doctor, right?

Rev Karen:

If you felt a pain in your body, That kept happening while that's also a pattern,

Rev Karen:

whether the pattern is in our body.

Rev Karen:

In our physical self.

Rev Karen:

In our world, like our car, our home.

Rev Karen:

Or out there in the world, . They all have the potential.

Rev Karen:

To give you information.

Rev Karen:

That will help you in your life.

Rev Karen:

Maybe you're accidentally setting your car alarm off all the

Rev Karen:

time, you know, once or twice.

Rev Karen:

It's probably an accident.

Rev Karen:

But if you do it, Consistently.

Rev Karen:

You might want to look at the fact, are you feeling safe?

Rev Karen:

Do you feel like you need some help from someone else?

Rev Karen:

Things like this, that we just attribute to weirdness and randomness and

Rev Karen:

coincidence.

Rev Karen:

Can actually help us through some kind of healing or some growth in our lives.

Rev Karen:

There are things that maybe it's our subconscious making

Rev Karen:

us do stuff accidentally.

Rev Karen:

Trying to get our attention for something.

Rev Karen:

You don't want to ignore them for too long, because suddenly

Rev Karen:

it might erupt in really big.

Rev Karen:

Bad way that we don't like.

Rev Karen:

Just like I was talking about the body ache.

Rev Karen:

If you ignore it over and over and over, it might really

Rev Karen:

have a bad outcome for you.

Rev Karen:

Your subconscious.

Rev Karen:

He recognizes what it needs to see.

Rev Karen:

For you to pay attention.

Rev Karen:

So maybe that red car is always out there on the world.

Rev Karen:

But it's not until it has meaning for you that your brain allows the information in.

Rev Karen:

Maybe that sounds like a stretch.

Rev Karen:

But the information from the outer world coming into our mind, our body.

Rev Karen:

Is the information we need at the time.

Rev Karen:

All the information is out there all the time.

Rev Karen:

Anyway..

Rev Karen:

What we see in the outside world.

Rev Karen:

Is just a small, small piece of it it's out there.

Rev Karen:

So what we're seeing is what we need to see and it's something.

Rev Karen:

That usually has some kind of meaning for us.

Rev Karen:

So we see these things.

Rev Karen:

We decide, we want to find out what's going on.

Rev Karen:

Why am I seeing the same thing over and over?

Rev Karen:

That's when you need to start paying attention to what , your

Rev Karen:

intuition is telling you.

Rev Karen:

What your divine wisdom is telling

Rev Karen:

And do you need to become aware of what is happening in the outside world?

Rev Karen:

And allowing it.

Rev Karen:

To make a difference.

Rev Karen:

So once you begin to start recognizing things outside,

Rev Karen:

That do potentially have an impact on your life.

Rev Karen:

Once you start to look And analyze it.

Rev Karen:

Ask yourself, what you need to do about it.

Rev Karen:

Once you start to become aware you can't go back.

Rev Karen:

Once you realize there are things happening out there.

Rev Karen:

Or you are seeing things that you need to see.

Rev Karen:

Whether it's happening inside your body or outside your

Rev Karen:

You can't It's like a baby.

Rev Karen:

That just gets birthed into this cold cruel world that

Rev Karen:

can't go back into the womb.

Rev Karen:

It's here.

Rev Karen:

It's got to live with it.

Rev Karen:

It's got to deal with it.

Rev Karen:

It's got to learn to grow, and that's how we are.

Rev Karen:

So once you start looking around becoming aware, Then it's time to start.

Rev Karen:

A growth process.

Rev Karen:

To start this healing process.

Rev Karen:

We need to be quiet and we need to pay attention.

Rev Karen:

To our intuition and our divine wisdom.

Rev Karen:

So our body, our innate wisdom knows what's right for us and not right for us.

Rev Karen:

. Sometimes we can't tell the difference between what our intuition is.

Rev Karen:

And what that crazy voice in our head is.

Rev Karen:

I mean, I totally get that because I've been there.

Rev Karen:

The thing is that crazy voice wants us to stay small and safe and not grow and

Rev Karen:

not take any risks and is very fearful.

Rev Karen:

So you don't want to listen to that voice if you're trying to find your

Rev Karen:

purpose or have greater meaning in your life, if you're trying to grow.

Rev Karen:

But how do you know the difference?

Rev Karen:

Right.

Rev Karen:

How do you know the crazy voice from your intuition or your divine wisdom?

Rev Karen:

Fortunately there's tools out there you can use.

Rev Karen:

To figure out.

Rev Karen:

What your divine wisdom is telling One of the tools.

Rev Karen:

There's many variations, but they work with muscle testing.

Rev Karen:

Because your muscles are part of your body.

Rev Karen:

Hey.

Rev Karen:

And they know.

Rev Karen:

Your muscles know your divine truth.

Rev Karen:

Your divine truth, your divine wisdom, your correct answers.

Rev Karen:

Are already inside you and your muscles will tell you.

Rev Karen:

So you can go out and try to find some muscle testing.

Rev Karen:

You can go to Google or talk to people and , find out how to

Rev Karen:

do muscle testing for yourself.

Rev Karen:

You can muscle test and find out if something was.

Rev Karen:

Your intuition or if it was that crazy voice in your head.

Rev Karen:

There's also a exercise in Martha Beck's book.

Rev Karen:

Finding your north star.

Rev Karen:

Where she talks about how to learn what your yes is and your no is.

Rev Karen:

And it's again, it's using your body because your body knows.

Rev Karen:

But I think that's a really good exercise that she has

Rev Karen:

Your body knows what is best for you?

Rev Karen:

So using your intuition in conjunction with patterns, you're seeing.

Rev Karen:

Are going to help you grow.

Rev Karen:

Find what you're looking for in life.

Rev Karen:

Something I recommend people do is to keep a journal at night of what

Rev Karen:

you might call signs or coincidences.

Rev Karen:

You know, if you've ever had a baby or a puppy, or even recovering

Rev Karen:

from surgery or an illness.

Rev Karen:

If you keep track of all the significant events

Rev Karen:

you learn that there's a pattern to when things happen and you can then expect.

Rev Karen:

When these are going to happen.

Rev Karen:

So for example, When you have a brand new baby.

Rev Karen:

And you mark the times when they feed, when they sleep,

Rev Karen:

when they potty, et cetera.

Rev Karen:

You will see.

Rev Karen:

There's very good patterns and you've learned to expect what's coming up next.

Rev Karen:

We can do the same thing with ourself.

Rev Karen:

We keep track of these things.

Rev Karen:

And you can recognize the patterns.

Rev Karen:

And then you can use these patterns to your advantage.

Rev Karen:

You can heal an issue.

Rev Karen:

You can move on into further growth or whatever it is you're trying to achieve.

Rev Karen:

So first I recommend people start testing your intuition immediately.

Rev Karen:

You want to know that you can trust your body, trust your

Rev Karen:

answers when you really need it.

Rev Karen:

Before you have the big decision to make, you know, whether it's

Rev Karen:

getting married or changing jobs, moving cities, going on a trip.

Rev Karen:

You want to be able to trust if you're getting a yes or no?

Rev Karen:

So if you test it ahead of time, You know, it might be weeks or months or years.

Rev Karen:

And so, you know, There's not a question.

Rev Karen:

You know what the answer is when it comes up.

Rev Karen:

, and pay attention to when you say things like that's weird.

Rev Karen:

And this phrase depends on where you are.

Rev Karen:

Different cultures say it differently.

Rev Karen:

That's weird.

Rev Karen:

It's so weird.

Rev Karen:

It's crazy.

Rev Karen:

It's ridiculous.

Rev Karen:

Whatever the phrase is that you use, that means something has

Rev Karen:

happened against your expectations.

Rev Karen:

And it's not quite normal.

Rev Karen:

So when an event happens, that makes you have that response

Rev Karen:

that that's so weird response.

Rev Karen:

Write it down.

Rev Karen:

And see if there's patterns to it.

Rev Karen:

See if there's something trying to get your attention.

Rev Karen:

Is your intuition, trying to get your.

Rev Karen:

Attention.

Rev Karen:

About something.

Rev Karen:

I really think it's important when we use those phrases

Rev Karen:

because there's a reason we're not expecting it to happen and it did happen.

Rev Karen:

And is it happening over and over?

Rev Karen:

The thing is we think that it's just weird because we think

Rev Karen:

there's no relevance around

Rev Karen:

But if there is relevance in the events of our life, then these

Rev Karen:

occurrences, these coincidences.

Rev Karen:

They aren't just weird.

Rev Karen:

They have meaning to us.

Rev Karen:

, so you don't have to just believe me on this.

Rev Karen:

I want you to prove it to yourself.

Rev Karen:

I think you should start.

Rev Karen:

Proving to yourself that there is some relevance to some of

Rev Karen:

these events in our lives.

Rev Karen:

So.

Rev Karen:

Get a journal.

Rev Karen:

And every night, write down the things that seemed weird that day.

Rev Karen:

The things that seem like coincidences or signs.

Rev Karen:

The things that told you to go one way and not the other way.

Rev Karen:

Things in your head that, that weren't just crazy voices telling

Rev Karen:

you to do weird stuff, Really seemed important at the time.

Rev Karen:

And that's the other thing.

Rev Karen:

It really seems important at the time.

Rev Karen:

What patterns begin to show up after a week?

Rev Karen:

Or after a month.

Rev Karen:

If we begin to look at this stuff, as I've said, you can begin to trust

Rev Karen:

your intuition and you can begin to listen to your own body and know.

Rev Karen:

That when things come

Rev Karen:

There's meaning.

Rev Karen:

And it's just a matter of finding what that is.

Rev Karen:

So one of the ways to find out honestly, is to sit down and be quiet.

Rev Karen:

And , you can start writing.

Rev Karen:

You can start recording.

Rev Karen:

You can start drawing.

Rev Karen:

Anything to get information out of you.

Rev Karen:

So that you get out of your own way is what I mean by getting out of your own

Rev Karen:

way is stop the filters in your head that don't allow the information to come out.

Rev Karen:

Because you think you're going to be accused of being weird or

Rev Karen:

crazy or something like that.

Rev Karen:

We get signs all the time that things are going on.

Rev Karen:

And for some reason, we allow some of these signs to make sense and be part

Rev Karen:

of life, but we don't allow other signs.

Rev Karen:

For example, if you hear weird noise in your car, that's a sign that

Rev Karen:

something's going But you're not crazy for taking your car to the mechanic.

Rev Karen:

If your bank balance keeps dropping below zero, that's a sign that you're

Rev Karen:

either not putting enough money in or you're spending too much money.

Rev Karen:

But no Ever thinks it's not normal , to fix that.

Rev Karen:

If your body's hurting, it's normal to go to the doctor.

Rev Karen:

So why, when we see signs from other things,

Rev Karen:

Do people think it's not relevant to our lives?

Rev Karen:

Just because it's not a physical representation of

Rev Karen:

what you think it should mean.

Rev Karen:

Doesn't mean, it's not a sign that something has to shift.

Rev Karen:

So let me say that again, because that might've sounded confusing.

Rev Karen:

Just because a sign is not part of your physical body or it's

Rev Karen:

not part of a physical item.

Rev Karen:

That.

Rev Karen:

You think.

Rev Karen:

Is reasonable

Rev Karen:

does not mean that it's not a sign you need to pay attention to and

Rev Karen:

that something needs to shift.

Rev Karen:

And with that, I'm just going to

Rev Karen:

Pay attention patterns, coincidences.

Rev Karen:

Intuition.

Rev Karen:

And start putting these pieces together.

Rev Karen:

For your own life.

Rev Karen:

And see how it shifts.

Rev Karen:

That's all for now.
