Klaudia Mitura:
Hello Happiness Seekers
My name is Klaudia and you are listening to The Happiness Challenge.
This episode is part of the Happiness Reset Campaign where I bring you 25 bitesize episodes to inspire you to refocus on your happiness and fulfilment.
In each short episode I bring you one practical hack to create more happiness at work, in relationships and in your own skin.
Follow me on Linkedin and join my newsletter to share what hacks you are finding useful and to get free tickets to a webinar on the science of happiness that I will be hosting in February.
In this happiness hack, I am diving into the fascinating topic of curiosity.
Curiosity refers to your willingness to engage in new, unfamiliar and complex topics or activities.
Curiosity boosts wellbeing, shielding people from feeling blue because if you are curious you tend to get absorbed in new topics, learn new skills and dive into something new.
People who score high curiosity also score higher on life satisfaction and happiness.
And at work, curiosity results in work engagement, job satisfaction and innovation.
Set a time in your schedule for one morning, afternoon or day to be curious. Note down somewhere, “Today, I am curious about…” and go on a hunt of finding relevant information on the selected topic. What do you learn? Who did you talk to? What spiked your level of curiosity? How did you feel at the end of it?
My favourite sources of curiosity:
Do Lectures and TedTalks: full of ideas and insights on variety of topics
Blinkists - summary of non-fiction books
Connect with someone and ask them three curiosity based questions to find out more about their happiness journey. What makes them happy? What is their happy routine? How do they find happiness in challenging times?
Thank you for listening to the Happiness Reset Campaign, I hope this happiness hack is useful and impactful.
