Historian of the Bulosan Center UC Davis Stacey Anne Salinas joins Jen & Nani for her second year to celebrate Filipino American History Month and discuss this year's theme of the History of Filipino American Activism. She talks about the rarity of Filipinos in academia and the destructiveness of the American education, the Asian immigrant model of always being on the go, ways to practice activism, and much more. Jen, Nani and Stacey also talk about the cost of not knowing our history and their hopes for the future.

Who do you admire as a Pinay Activist? October is Filipino American History Month. According to the Filipino American National Historical Society, this year's theme is The History of Filipino American Activism.

"We believe this theme is particularly crucial in 2020, as it is a key election year and we are living amidst a pandemic and mass movement towards racial justice. Thus, we encourage all of our chapters and communities to reflect on decades of Filipino American activism, in order to inspire and foster our civic responsibility in the Filipino American community." - FANHS
