Sometimes it does not take a whole transformation. Sometimes it takes one spark, one small shift in how you see yourself. This episode of Soul Sparks explores exactly that. Host Nazish talks with certified hypnotherapist Robin Harris about how the smallest, quietest moments of clarity often carry the most change, and why we so often miss them while waiting for something bigger.
Robin shares her own turning point, realizing that a season of fear had shaped a chaotic chapter of her life, and how choosing peace afterward changed what came next. This conversation is a gentle reminder that meaningful change is often smaller, and closer, than we think.

00:00:08 Nazish: Sometimes it does not take a whole transformation. Sometimes it takes one spark, one thought that lands at the right moment. One shift in how you see yourself and suddenly the whole day tilts in a different direction, which is big breakthroughs. But the truth is, the most real change starts tiny. A single, honest realization. A moment of choosing differently. A spark you missed almost. So tonight is a quick, bright conversation about exactly that. About how the small spark that quietly changes everything in how to catch more of them. Welcome
00:00:52 Nazish: to Soul Sparks. I am Nazish, and this is a this is the show where we keep it bright and we keep it real. Quick conversation. One clear insight at the time, and the kind of spark you can carry with you into the rest of your day. No long detours, just honest light. Today we are talking about how one small shift can change your whole outlook and how to notice the spark that are already trying to reach you out. My guest today is Robin Harris. Someone with a bright spirit and a real gift for finding the spark in things. Robin, it is so good to have you here. Welcome to the show.
00:01:40 Robin Harris: Thank you for having me.
00:01:42 Nazish: Wonderful. So Robin, I want to start with with you. Like, was there a moment, a moment, single moment or one realization of one shift in how you saw something that ended up changing far more than you expected at the time?
00:02:03 Robin Harris: Uh, yes. There was one moment I never realized that when I manifested the best outcomes in my life, I always started from a place of peace. And I hadn't made that connection. I just thought, well, this was interesting, this was great, but it seemed so random. It seemed so random that I did not know how to call that in on demand. And I was in a very toxic work situation and my contract had come to an end. This was post coming out of Covid, and I realized that my fear manifested the type of job that I had gotten, the, the, the, that anxiety, the fear, the trepidation coming in. We were in Covid actually attracted a job that had that same kind of chaotic, toxic energy. And when the contract was over, I was sitting in the chair and I started crying because for the first time, I realized that I manifested a job that matched my internal vibration fear based, toxic, chaotic, stressful. And I realized that this was my creation. And so I made myself sit down and, and think, I can't afford to create another job like this because my assignment had ended. We were still sort of coming out of Covid and I needed another job, but I knew for a fact that I could not afford to manifest another job from a state of fear. And so I made myself choose peace. And within a couple of weeks, I got the most amazing job offer. A company contacted me and says, hey, we think you'd be a great match for this. Will you come and interview? And it turned out to be a perfect match.
00:04:38 Nazish: Absolutely. It sounds it sounds beautiful. And it sounds like there are moments like we keep waiting for something dramatic, life altering event. And meanwhile, the real change slips in quietly through a single, honest moment.
00:04:57 Robin Harris: Yeah. Yes.
00:05:00 Nazish: I'm one spark caught at the right time. Can redirect a whole life. And the fact that it was. It was small. It is not a weakness like we think of it as.
00:05:13 Robin Harris: Right, right. So small and seemingly so insignificant. I had missed it all along. And I, I didn't I didn't see it until I missed, created something and was able to see the contrast.
00:05:32 Nazish: Yeah, yeah, I, I completely agree with you. So, um. What gets in the way of us noticing the small moments of clarity and joy that are right in front of us?
00:05:49 Robin Harris: We have to recalibrate our expectations because the world tells us to look for the big, the shiny, the glamorous, the sensational, and we start to tune ourselves in so that we can only detect those types of outcomes and those types of inputs. But the world happens moment by moment. And a lot of the world, a lot of the things that happen to us happen even in silence. So we have to really kind of choose to opt out of that narrative of everything has to be big. Go big or go home. Sometimes it's go, go quietly, go quietly. Into joy. Go quietly into the manifestation. Go quietly into the miracle. We have to choose. We have to choose our narratives rather than let them be chosen for us by society.
00:06:58 Nazish: That that actually makes a lot of sense. You know, there is a very big difference in being loud about things and accepting things in silence.
00:07:11 Robin Harris: Mhm.
00:07:14 Nazish: And, you know, I think the sparks are quiet and our lives are loud. So they pour, so they pass us by unnoticed. And like the beautiful thing that you are pointing out is that catching a spark is less about waiting for a bigger one and more and more about getting a getting quieter so we can see the ones already here.
00:07:37 Robin Harris: Right?
00:07:39 Nazish: Yeah.
00:07:39 Robin Harris: So true.
00:07:42 Nazish: Yes. So where do you find these small sparks in ordinary life?
00:07:49 Robin Harris: We're swimming in them. It's the ocean we're swimming in. It's all around us. If you're near a window, look outside the window. And if you see a tree. If you hear a bird. If you see a little squirrel running around. If you see a hummingbird. If you see a deer running through your yard. If you see a child smiling, it's all around us. But our mind can only see what matches its expectations and its willingness to see. So the thing that we have to do is change our willingness to see differently. It's like when you're looking for your keys, have you ever lost your keys? And you're like, where are my keys? Oh my God, where are my keys? And you're just running all over like a crazy person looking for your keys. And they were right.
00:08:49 Nazish: We have all.
00:08:50 Robin Harris: Of you on the table. They were right there. But your eyes, your your your mind deleted them literally. You did not see them because the mind says they're not there. So the first thing you have to do is tell yourself, I'm surrounded by miracles. I'm sorry. I'm swimming in miracles. Every breath is a miracle. Every time you can open your eyes in the morning and see the sunrise, that's a miracle. We're swimming in them and we dismiss them so we don't see them. And we don't experience them as miracles.
00:09:44 Nazish: Absolutely. That makes a lot of sense. And, you know, I love how grounded it is because the magic of this is not reserved for special occasions. It is. It can happen at an ordinary cup of coffee and an unexpected text. And, you know, that is the beauty of having it on a regular day.
00:10:06 Speaker 3: Yeah. Yes.
00:10:11 Nazish: So you clearly have a knack for catching sparks, I guess. So so share how like what is the one simple practice or shift that helps you notice and hold on to more of these small moments of clarity and joy?
00:10:29 Robin Harris: Well, I'm a certified hypnotherapist and I have clients, and one of the things I do is I make the audios. I, I tape the, the, the hypnosis part of the session and I clean them up and, you know, put the music to them and I send them. And every now and then I'll do an audio for a client and I'm like, oh my God, I need this for myself. And so I will take that audio and I will take out the information that is unique to the client and make it a more general hypnosis audio. And I have a whole collection of them. Like my, my clients have a collection that's personalized, but I have a collection of them. And depending on what I'm dealing with, I start my day going into a hypnotic journey that helps me set my expectations and my energy for the day. It's the sweetest twenty minutes, and when I'm really going through something, when I am really going through something, I will listen to a particular audio multiple times a day and. And when I was going through a grieving, you know, I, I have a hypnotherapist that I work with. She's one of my instructors and, and she gave, she gives me audios and I would put that audio on repeat. And my husband's like, how do you sleep with those doggone headphones on? I was like, I don't know, but I need to hear, I need to let this come in over and over and over and over, because we are constantly being dripped with negativity. We have to learn to drip positivity into the mind so that it can go into the subconscious mind. And so right now I'm working with a timeline audio that I have created for my clients, but I created a general one for myself, and I'm moving to a new timeline because there's something new that I want to create. And so I need to tap into the wisdom of a future self that already has that. And so I am constantly listening, and I do this. I start my morning in the energy I want to hold throughout the day. And you can do this in any kind of way. I started with the audio and then I do some prayer. And then I also do a mantra meditation. So I'm spending about a good hour preparing myself for the day. But you don't have to spend an hour, ten, fifteen minutes of exposing yourself to an energy that you want to carry throughout the day can make the difference in whether you have a great day or a crappy day.
00:13:52 Nazish: It actually can. And that is so important. And this is so wonderful and so simple. And it's as simple as exactly what works, I guess. Because when we overcomplicate joy and clarity, when really it comes down to small, repeatable acts of attention.
00:14:14 Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
00:14:16 Robin Harris: And habits make it a habit. Meditation, exercise, healthy eating. All these things are great, but they don't work. If you like, do it just once a week or every now and then, or just when life is hard. You gotta make it a habit. It has to be something you do every single day to set the tone of your spirit, to nourish your spirit. Your spirit needs nourishment every single day, just like your stomach does. Just like your body needs to be nourished every day, your spirit needs to be nourished every day.
00:15:03 Nazish: Absolutely. That is so important. And you know, I so for the listeners who are listening right now and who wants this to last, like I want to ask you, how do you keep your spark alive over time? Like, especially on the harder days?
00:15:21 Robin Harris: Well, I, I expose myself to more and more positivity. I've had to, um, avoid going, I'm, I'm a YouTube junkie. I'm, I could just sit there and just scroll and watch and scroll. And because I've come out of the technology, I'm also always trying to see what's going on with AI and technology and all this other kind of stuff and too much of that information, that kind of information just puts your nervous system and your mind and your soul in a state of agitation. And so one of the things that I have to do is limit my exposure to social media. I don't watch the news and I really monitor the information, the quality of the information I expose myself to on a regular. You have to be responsible for for what you're allowing into your internal system. That's your system and you're responsible for protecting it and nourishing it.
00:16:36 Nazish: I absolutely agree with you there and I couldn't you know, it is very true. Like you said, you are responsible for what you are, what source like what you are intaking because that really sets the tone of your day. And that really sets how you're going to, how you're going to how the joy and the clarity is going to come to you today.
00:16:58 Robin Harris: Right, right. And if you're an empathic person, it's a little more complicated because an empathic person who's psychically sensitive doesn't just get information from social media or being online, they're actually picking it up vibrationally. It's in the air. It's like radio waves. And so if you're an empathic person or psychically sensitive, You need to know how to shut your system down a little bit so that you're not taking in so much energy and information from the external world. Because when we're empaths, we feel things. We don't have to go online to get those feelings. It's, it's like we're picking up the energy of, of the environment. And so we've gotta have to do a little more work to make sure we protect our, our energetic body from taking in just like information just from the airwaves, you know?
00:18:18 Nazish: Absolutely, absolutely. And you know, this, it is kind and it is kind and a bright place to land because some days the spark really is hard to find, and the answer is not to force it, but to gentle it until it returns.
00:18:36 Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
00:18:39 Robin Harris: And sometimes. Um, I noticed we've had like so much rain here. I'm in Georgia and so I haven't gotten to walk. I haven't been able to go outside and get into the get go into the park and hang out with the trees and sit on the benches and listen to the birds. And I can feel that deficit. I'm, I look at the I look at the weather thing. I'm like, oh my gosh, how many days of consecutive rain are we going to have? I need to get outside. I need to be with nature. I need to be with the trees and the, and the birds and, and the bees and, and so when we, when, when our environment shifts, like if you're in a place that has winter or the weather just isn't permitting or it's cold or whatever, then you're going to have to do some extra work to nourish yourself and to give yourself the environment that you thrive in, because it may not come naturally. You might have to do a little bit of being creative and innovative to create that space for yourself.
00:19:57 Speaker 3: Yes.
00:19:57 Nazish: That is that is actually absolutely important. So I want to ask you, like, if someone listening right now feels like that they have lost their light, what is the one small thing you want most of them to walk away with right now?
00:20:15 Speaker 3: Breathe. Breathe.
00:20:19 Robin Harris: Take the time to take some nice slow, calm.
00:20:30 Speaker 3: Deep breaths.
00:20:33 Robin Harris: And just breathe. Spend two three minutes and just breathe yourself into a place of calm. And then from there, you can decide what to do. But our breath connects us to life. And when we're stressed out and we're in fear and you know life isn't going the way we want it, our breathing becomes shallow and disruptive and not nourishing to us. So the first thing we can do is reconnect to those deeper, calm, slow breaths. It's always with you.
00:21:26 Nazish: Makes so much sense and there is so much beauty in what you just described. Sometimes with situations get so tough that we forget how much calm we can feel by simple things like breathing.
00:21:41 Robin Harris: Mhm.
00:21:43 Nazish: Yeah. And I believe this is going to land with a lot of our listeners tonight because it is so beautiful what you just said.
00:21:51 Robin Harris: Mhm. And you know what I'm going to suggest to don't wait till you feel blue to try to address it. Prepare yourself a, a happiness kit. Prepare yourself a peace and calm kit. Have us have your strategy and your tools ready. You know, you know, a bubble bath, the candlelight, bubble bath. Uh, Drinking water out of a beautiful, fancy crystal glass. Have yourself some strategies. Pre-established. And when you hit those moments, then you're like, oh, let me go to my, um, happiness kit and pull something out of it. Let me go to my peace and calm kit and see what strategy I'm going to employ. You've got to create these mechanisms that are good for you and positive ahead of time. Don't wait till you're in the ditch to try to figure out how to get out.
00:23:00 Nazish: Absolutely. Robin I know there are going to be a lot of listeners who would want to find you and the brightness you bring to the world. So where can they do so?
00:23:12 Robin Harris: The life design dot studio. The life design dot studio. And this is where I work with, you know, I've got some free resources and a podcast you can listen to and learn more about our philosophy on living your best life moment by moment.
00:23:44 Nazish: Wonderful. I will make sure to include these details into the show notes, so that a lot of people can reach out to you and learn from you. Thank you so much, Robin, for being here with us on the show. It was a pleasure to have you here.
00:23:58 Robin Harris: All right. You have a great day.
00:24:00 Nazish: Yes. And whosoever is listening right now, especially the ones whose days have felt like a little dim lately. I will leave you with this. You don't need a giant transformation today. You just need one spark. It is probably closer than you think. Hiding in something ordinary. Waiting for you to notice it. Go catch it and let it tilt your whole day. And that's how the light gets back in.
