Pastor Andy continues his series on being ‘Tuned-In’ to the Word of God. In John 10:10 scripture says “His sheep know his voice”. God is not speaking with a voice of condemnation or judgement but as a shepherd or Father.  So far we have looked at the need to ‘Tune-Out’ of other sounds in order for our hearts to hear God, His will and ways for our lives. When the ways of this world are influenced by the ‘gods’ of this age, and disagree with how God says that we should live our lives, we need to purpose to be non-conformist. 

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) says “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will”. When we begin to say “Yes, God, I want to hear your voice…. I want to tune out from other noise to hear you the voice of my Shepard, the voice of my friend”, our lives begin to be renewed. When we allow God's word to challenge our thinking, the Holy Spirit to teach us God's word, we experience a supernatural change that happens from the inside….a transformation, a metamorphosis. But this also needs to be a constant renewal through His word, not a once only action. 

When we are committed to being transformed, we experience a divine ‘brain-scrub’ through the Holy Spirit. The only result in our minds, if we use the Word of God, is freedom….because we shall know the truth...and the truth shall set us free!
