Welcome, nothingers, to another episode of the All About Nothing podcast.

Barrett Gruber:

This is episode number 236.

Barrett Gruber:

I am Barrett Gruber.

Zach King:

I'm Zach King.

Barrett Gruber:

Welcome, ZACH.

Barrett Gruber:

It is:

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

We're recording this on January 1st because I looked at the calendar and was like, you know what?

Barrett Gruber:

We said we'd only be gone for two weeks, and I don't know how this is going to work out if we don't record something.

Barrett Gruber:

I have forced Zach out of his hibernation, and we're recording an episode, and it's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's not just.

Barrett Gruber:

It's not for me, it's not for Zach.

Barrett Gruber:

It's for you.

Barrett Gruber:

It's for you.

Barrett Gruber:

The listener podcast.

Zach King:

So go, go donate.

Zach King:

Become a member, please.

Barrett Gruber:

That's.

Barrett Gruber:

That's.

Barrett Gruber:

That's really how we want to pay for the show.

Barrett Gruber:

Zach and I want to stop paying for the show.

Barrett Gruber:

We.

Barrett Gruber:

We want people to pay for the show.

Barrett Gruber:

Real quick.

Barrett Gruber:

Want to thank Steven Summerlin for being on the show the last time we recorded before Christmas.

Barrett Gruber:

Absolute pleasure having Stephen on, and I look forward to having him on in your stay.

Zach King:

Yeah, I got to run it.

Zach King:

Run it by him because I hope he picked up that I was like, stephen, we need you.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

So it would be awesome if Stephen could do that.

Zach King:

So I think.

Barrett Gruber:

I think what we're going to do is when Leroy is not available, Steven will be available, and when Steven's not available, make Leroy available.

Barrett Gruber:

So, I guess round table.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

That sort of news is that Leroy Green is also going to be.

Barrett Gruber:

It takes a lot of people to replace you, Zach.

Barrett Gruber:

That's.

Barrett Gruber:

That's essentially what I'm trying to say.

Zach King:

I'm basically three people in one.

Zach King:

I'm talking to him right now.

Zach King:

Yeah, see?

Barrett Gruber:

Shut up.

Barrett Gruber:

You are not welcome in here.

Zach King:

I'm Comic Accurate Deadpool when it comes to the insanity, because in case you don't know and you just seen the movies.

Zach King:

Deadpool actually has multiple two more voices in his head talking to him.

Barrett Gruber:

So that's the fourth wall.

Barrett Gruber:

He is breaking the fourth wall and he has other personalities or other voices in his head.

Barrett Gruber:

Interesting.

Barrett Gruber:

See, you learn something.

Barrett Gruber:

That is what this show is for.

Zach King:

It's hilarious to read those other voices in the comics because it just adds depth for him to banter with.

Zach King:

Was it maybe a device that the writer and author needed to use?

Zach King:

Maybe, but it works perfect.

Barrett Gruber:

This is not a solo comic.

Barrett Gruber:

This can't be a solo comic.

Zach King:

He can't run around and do stuff and just quip about it.

Zach King:

He has to talk to somebody.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

So just as a reminder, Zach's having twins.

Barrett Gruber:

I guess they will be here before April.

Barrett Gruber:

Probably there will.

Barrett Gruber:

And I'll, I'll just not to scare you, but 37 weeks, and I'm sure you already know this, 37 weeks is generally the cutoff for twins.

Barrett Gruber:

That is, they are, they are fully born, they're fully grown, they're ready for birth and, and generally it's just healthier for your wife and, and the children.

Zach King:

Well, we had their four hour long anatomy scan, but it was beautiful getting to see them.

Zach King:

But they cover one baby head to toe.

Zach King:

You know how long just one baby takes?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

And it was the boy because he's got on kind of on top to the side there, so he was easy.

Zach King:

And then my girl was kind of under on the side.

Zach King:

But they're both have all their toes, no cleft palates.

Zach King:

Their brains are formed.

Zach King:

Perfectly beautiful brains on these babies.

Zach King:

Everything looked perfect.

Zach King:

Their eyes sockets, everything.

Zach King:

All.

Zach King:

All 20.

Zach King:

All 20 fingers and 20 toes present.

Barrett Gruber:

That's awesome.

Zach King:

That was awesome to see.

Zach King:

And then their weights.

Zach King:

The boy was 1.3 pounds and the girl was 1 pound, so.

Barrett Gruber:

Okay.

Barrett Gruber:

Okay.

Barrett Gruber:

Well, that's not unheard of.

Barrett Gruber:

They're gonna go through pretty major growth spurt over the next two years, two months.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

And I was like, the doctor's like, this is one thing.

Zach King:

We're gonna keep an eye on the smaller one.

Zach King:

I was like, traditionally in nature the boys are gonna be bigger than the girls.

Zach King:

And I'm not sweating.

Zach King:

0.3 pounds.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

You know, so now I'm excited for you.

Barrett Gruber:

And you know, I know there's probably some nervousness, there's probably some anxiety about what's going to happen.

Barrett Gruber:

How do you take care of, you know, two additional babies on top of the third?

Barrett Gruber:

I'm going to tell you right now, it works out.

Zach King:

Yeah, it'll work.

Zach King:

It works out.

Zach King:

I Kind of tell Gabrielle that all the time.

Zach King:

When you're in a situation like this, you can quit and run, but when you're.

Zach King:

If you're a caring father, period, or a caring parent, there is no fail here.

Zach King:

That failure literally is not an option.

Zach King:

You have to make it work.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

And you will.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

If you fight, you make it work.

Zach King:

So, like my mom always said, if it's worth having is worth fighting for.

Zach King:

So.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Keep fighting for it.

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

I think it's gonna be awesome.

Barrett Gruber:

And I can't wait to meet him.

Barrett Gruber:

That's gonna be exciting.

Zach King:

I am grateful.

Zach King:

I have four weeks of paid paternity leave.

Barrett Gruber:

I love that for you.

Zach King:

That's amazing.

Zach King:

And then I can.

Zach King:

I'm probably going to use two more weeks of vacation, so I'll be gone for, like, a month and a half for my job.

Barrett Gruber:

It's going to be a big year for the.

Barrett Gruber:

The King household.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm excited.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm excited for you.

Zach King:

Blows my mind.

Zach King:

By next Christmas will be, like, six months old.

Zach King:

Older.

Zach King:

Oh, right.

Zach King:

About that.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

And you'll be.

Barrett Gruber:

You will be 36 years old when they're born, correct?

Zach King:

Yes.

Zach King:

And then I will quickly, the next month, turn 37.

Barrett Gruber:

37.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

And by the time you see me, I will look 45.

Barrett Gruber:

What is this?

Zach King:

If I get the gray right here, too, I'll be like, barrett, someone's getting Rogaine, and it ain't me.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't think the Rogaine affects this.

Barrett Gruber:

I have.

Zach King:

I have considered the Rogaine dye stuff.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, they have Rogaine dye, Don't they give them a ding for that one?

Zach King:

Well, I said it.

Zach King:

And I'm not talking hair loss.

Zach King:

I'm talking just.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I don't.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't know if.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't know if dyeing my beard or anything like that is.

Barrett Gruber:

I've.

Barrett Gruber:

I've thought about it, but never to the point where I, like, went through the.

Zach King:

Do a jet back like Billy Mays used to have that.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

But I never.

Barrett Gruber:

Like, my hair is turning pepper.

Barrett Gruber:

Like, I've.

Barrett Gruber:

I've got the grays.

Zach King:

It'll be your signature.

Zach King:

You look like Billy Mays.

Zach King:

You just have a jet black beard for no apparent reason, but you use shoe shine.

Barrett Gruber:

That's kind of disturbing.

Zach King:

I just.

Zach King:

You should do it once.

Zach King:

Maybe we'll make that next year.

Zach King:

We'll make the Panthers Falcons bet.

Barrett Gruber:

Okay.

Barrett Gruber:

All right, Deal.

Barrett Gruber:

I.

Barrett Gruber:

You know what?

Barrett Gruber:

If.

Barrett Gruber:

If you're willing to make that.

Barrett Gruber:

That bet, then I Absolutely.

Barrett Gruber:

I.

Barrett Gruber:

That will be my end.

Barrett Gruber:

Is.

Barrett Gruber:

Is.

Barrett Gruber:

We will my.

Barrett Gruber:

My end of the bet if the.

Barrett Gruber:

If.

Barrett Gruber:

If the Falcons lose both games, the Panthers.

Barrett Gruber:

Which is entirely possible because I think the Panthers are going to be pretty good next year.

Zach King:

Yeah, you're kind of doing.

Zach King:

Panthers are going up and the Falcons are, like, going down a little.

Barrett Gruber:

Well, yeah, you're coming towards our level.

Zach King:

And we're just like, I don't know.

Barrett Gruber:

The Panthers are a spoiler team this year.

Barrett Gruber:

Like, I was really hoping.

Zach King:

And who did we spoil?

Zach King:

At the end of the day, it was Arizona was the only one.

Barrett Gruber:

That's true.

Zach King:

That.

Barrett Gruber:

I mean, that's true.

Zach King:

And Arizona was just as shocked to know that they were still had a playoff option.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah.

Zach King:

I know.

Zach King:

They asked Clowney.

Zach King:

They told clowning, like, how does it feel to spoil Arizona's playoff hopes?

Zach King:

And he's like, I didn't know that they still had a chance.

Barrett Gruber:

We played Arizona today.

Barrett Gruber:

Coach just said, get me the ball.

Zach King:

That is the one clear.

Zach King:

Like, awesome thing is I can go get a Jadevion Clowney's Panthers jersey.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

And that's cool.

Zach King:

That's awesome.

Barrett Gruber:

I think that's really cool.

Barrett Gruber:

I could get a Jedevion Clowney Falcons jersey.

Zach King:

Oh, bro.

Barrett Gruber:

It doesn't mean anything.

Zach King:

I got for Christmas.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, hey, that's very cool.

Barrett Gruber:

You got debo on there.

Zach King:

J.D.

Zach King:

clowney and Mr.

Zach King:

Stefan Gilmore.

Barrett Gruber:

Stefan Gilmore.

Barrett Gruber:

You know what I have.

Barrett Gruber:

I have three of those sign.

Barrett Gruber:

I have two of those signatures.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't have clownies.

Barrett Gruber:

The only signature I don't have.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Very lovely gift.

Barrett Gruber:

One of the gifts that I got for Christmas this year was I got a piece of the.

Barrett Gruber:

And I'd show it to you, but it's over on the.

Barrett Gruber:

On the bookshelf.

Barrett Gruber:

The blimp.

Barrett Gruber:

What's the blimp that exploded?

Barrett Gruber:

The Heisenberg?

Zach King:

Hindenburg.

Barrett Gruber:

Hindenburg.

Barrett Gruber:

I got a tiny fragment of the Hindenburg.

Zach King:

That's a morose piece of history.

Zach King:

This is in a guy's skull.

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's a plea.

Barrett Gruber:

It's a piece of the outer canvas of the Hindenburg.

Zach King:

So not only did Indiana Jones ride the Hindenburg once, but my great grandmother also read the Hindenburg.

Barrett Gruber:

Really?

Barrett Gruber:

That's interesting.

Zach King:

Yep.

Zach King:

She was a little kid.

Barrett Gruber:

That is very interesting.

Barrett Gruber:

I think the world would probably be an interesting place if we still had.

Barrett Gruber:

As if blimps were still part of the trial.

Zach King:

I was literally talking about blimps.

Zach King:

I think it was Keith.

Zach King:

I was like, why don't we use blimps?

Zach King:

Just don't fill it with hydrogen, figure out something else.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I thought.

Zach King:

I think, like, it would be really nice, right, to go take a blimp somewhere.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

I mean, you're.

Zach King:

If it.

Zach King:

If it starts going down, the worst thing is, like, we're not going to land where we told you we were.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Zach King:

It's a field, but someone knows where we are.

Barrett Gruber:

We're off by about 100 miles, but it's going to be the best landing you've ever had.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Our crash landings are just like, ba boom.

Zach King:

Yeah, it's gonna be great.

Barrett Gruber:

Real quick, business ZJZ Designs.

Barrett Gruber:

Barrett Gruber:

Check out everplaysocial.com for details on that.

Barrett Gruber:

Out of the way.

Barrett Gruber:

Done.

Zach King:

I'm still on the blimp spirit.

Zach King:

Maybe you can only maybe.

Zach King:

Maybe it has to be, like, really pristine weather.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't even think that's necessary.

Zach King:

Like, you couldn't do a storm.

Zach King:

It would blow you around.

Zach King:

Right.

Barrett Gruber:

You get it?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

But if you get the.

Barrett Gruber:

You.

Barrett Gruber:

You take the blimp up high enough that you're not in the strat.

Barrett Gruber:

You know, you're not in the stratosphere, where all the clouds are and.

Barrett Gruber:

And storms and things like that.

Zach King:

I mean, that's true.

Barrett Gruber:

That's why planes fly at 35, 40,000ft is because typically that's.

Barrett Gruber:

That' higher than where you will find most of the bad weather.

Zach King:

Well, I feel like maybe they can't go that high because then your gas is gonna.

Zach King:

Even if it's inert, like, you're gonna have problems with shrinkage or something with cold.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, that's true.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

And less atmosphere.

Zach King:

Well, that's.

Zach King:

Less atmosphere would make it get bigger.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

So maybe that's less pressure.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't know that we have.

Barrett Gruber:

We have the technology.

Barrett Gruber:

We can.

Zach King:

We're just gonna Google.

Zach King:

Why don't we do blimps?

Zach King:

No mo.

Zach King:

Good years.

Zach King:

Onto something.

Zach King:

They're always at the football games.

Barrett Gruber:

The.

Barrett Gruber:

The.

Barrett Gruber:

The other business that we have to discuss is the Coastal Comic Con is coming up on March 1st and 2nd in Wilmington, South Carolina.

Barrett Gruber:

I will be there.

Barrett Gruber:

I wish that Zach was going to be there.

Zach King:

I wish that I was going to be there, too.

Barrett Gruber:

But they did announce their first two guests so far.

Barrett Gruber:

And I guess I'll just, I'll, I'll just.

Barrett Gruber:

Who are they?

Barrett Gruber:

So the first guest that they announced last week.

Barrett Gruber:

First guest.

Barrett Gruber:

Is going to be a returning guest, Sam Witwer.

Zach King:

Sam.

Zach King:

I did see that Sam was coming back.

Barrett Gruber:

Sam's coming back.

Barrett Gruber:

Of course.

Barrett Gruber:

Emmy nominated actor Sam Witwer, best known for his famous fearsome Star wars villain, Darth Maul.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm reading this verbatim.

Barrett Gruber:

Witwer has done extensive work for the storied Lucas Disney franchise, including Star Wars Clone wars, for which he earned an EMMY nomination in 20 as outstanding performer in an animated series.

Barrett Gruber:

Star Wars Story.

Barrett Gruber:

He did.

Barrett Gruber:

So he was in solo.

Barrett Gruber:

Just a bunch of games.

Barrett Gruber:

You're gonna know him from, from everything.

Barrett Gruber:

But we, we got to sit down with Sam Witwer for a couple minutes.

Barrett Gruber:

Still have not released that audio, which I should.

Barrett Gruber:

And I, I need to.

Zach King:

It's pretty much a crime that it's not been released.

Barrett Gruber:

I know, I know.

Zach King:

Especially I love their interview with Adrian Hugh as well.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, man.

Barrett Gruber:

Matthew Waterson also, I think sitting down with Michael Bell.

Zach King:

Michael Bell.

Barrett Gruber:

Michael Bell.

Zach King:

He was the best.

Barrett Gruber:

He was so good.

Zach King:

Him and Matthew Watterson were my two favorite ones.

Barrett Gruber:

They were, they were fantastic.

Barrett Gruber:

And I, I, I, I don't, I can't give away a lot of information.

Barrett Gruber:

I did have a pretty prolonged phone call today about Coastal Comic Con and there is going to be a big announcement this week of.

Barrett Gruber:

They're going to do, they're going to do a release of three guests or three, three of the stars that are going to be announced this week for the Coastal Comic Con taking place in Wilmington, North Carolina at the Wilmington Convention center on March 1st and 2nd.

Barrett Gruber:

So I will be there the entire weekend.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm looking forward to that.

Barrett Gruber:

I will probably send Zach a bunch of text messages saying, guess who I'm sitting with?

Zach King:

And I'll be like, fuck you, Barrett, you son of a bitch.

Barrett Gruber:

That's all right.

Barrett Gruber:

As long as come, dude.

Zach King:

Who knows?

Zach King:

Maybe I'll have a, maybe I'll have a break and be like, are you sure you're not having them today?

Zach King:

And she'll be like, I'm fine.

Zach King:

And I can shoot up there for a day.

Barrett Gruber:

Hopefully I'll have room in my hotel room.

Barrett Gruber:

You can just stay with me, you know.

Zach King:

Are you sure you would want to bunk with me in a hotel room?

Barrett Gruber:

I would prefer to bunk with you than anyone else they're potentially going to stick me with.

Zach King:

Oh, Lord.

Barrett Gruber:

You know, I'm all for it.

Zach King:

Same way where it Stares at you in your sleep.

Barrett Gruber:

Some of that makes me uncomfortable.

Zach King:

In his sleep, he just goes, Kenobi.

Barrett Gruber:

But yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

So Sam Witwer has been announced, and the second person, individual star that's been announced is.

Zach King:

Back.

Barrett Gruber:

Man, I'd love.

Zach King:

So two returners.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, two returners.

Barrett Gruber:

Matthew Wood.

Barrett Gruber:

Sam Witwer, of course, Matthew Wood is.

Barrett Gruber:

Is known for a lot of the Lucas arts.

Barrett Gruber:

He's done a lot of the game tests.

Barrett Gruber:

He's been in the games.

Zach King:

He and him.

Zach King:

He and Sam Witwer work together on damn near everything.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

If Matthew Wood's doing it, Sam's right beside him, literally doing it.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

What Matthew Wood was.

Barrett Gruber:

He's the voice.

Zach King:

General Grievous.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, General Grievous.

Barrett Gruber:

He was also Fortuna.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, he also didn't.

Barrett Gruber:

He was the.

Zach King:

The.

Barrett Gruber:

The soldier bots, right?

Zach King:

Yeah, the battle droids.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, he's the battle droids.

Barrett Gruber:

So he.

Barrett Gruber:

Wally.

Barrett Gruber:

He was in Wally.

Zach King:

Was he Wally?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Let's see.

Barrett Gruber:

For Pixar Sci Fi Wall E.

Barrett Gruber:

Let me see.

Barrett Gruber:

He received his first Academy award nomination for sound editing for Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be blood at the 80th Academy Award.

Zach King:

That's right.

Zach King:

He did do the sound editing for one of my favorite movies ever.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

There Will be Blood was fantastic.

Barrett Gruber:

For the Pixar sci fi film Wall e at the 81st Academy Awards for Star wars the Force awakens at the 88th Academy Awards.

Barrett Gruber:

So these are.

Barrett Gruber:

These are all.

Barrett Gruber:

These are all things that he was.

Barrett Gruber:

He was a part of and was nominated for.

Zach King:

That's why he and Sam Witwer get to stick in those stormtrooper jokes.

Zach King:

Yeah, like the.

Zach King:

Have you heard about the new T56?

Zach King:

Oh, I just got the T55.

Zach King:

I didn't even know they're making a T56 in the next movie.

Zach King:

It'll be like, did you hear about the new T57s?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Oh, no.

Zach King:

I just traded in my T56 for a T57.

Zach King:

I haven't gotten it yet.

Zach King:

Like, it was all kind of weird jokes like that you can catch in each Star wars movie.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah, It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's fun.

Barrett Gruber:

Matthew Wood is fun.

Barrett Gruber:

Sam Witworth.

Zach King:

I would not step to Sam Witwer or Matthew Wood about Star wars trivia.

Zach King:

They would.

Barrett Gruber:

No, not me.

Zach King:

They would be me.

Zach King:

They would bomb everybody out.

Zach King:

Just done.

Barrett Gruber:

If, if, if, if.

Barrett Gruber:

If there is a.

Barrett Gruber:

If there is an opportunity to sit down with them, the likelihood is, is that I'm hoping someone will provide me with the notes that I need in order To.

Zach King:

I'll tell you what.

Zach King:

Steven's down.

Zach King:

He could go with you.

Zach King:

He knows all Star wars trivia.

Barrett Gruber:

That sounds good.

Barrett Gruber:

That sounds good.

Barrett Gruber:

All right, so, yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

So Coastal Comic Con coming up in Wilmington, South Wilmington, NC, March 1st and 2nd at the Wilmington Convention Center.

Barrett Gruber:

You can check out the webpage coastalcomicon.com you can email info@coastal comic con.com if you have any questions.

Barrett Gruber:

But tickets are on sale now, and literally from today, we're two months away from this thing.

Zach King:

My, my cousin Jamie, who.

Zach King:

I was just hanging out with him this last weekend, he's a, I think, Carolina beach police officer.

Zach King:

Right.

Zach King:

It's Wilmington, but he patrols those, so he might be one of the police officers at the event.

Zach King:

Very cool.

Zach King:

See, see if he's doing that.

Barrett Gruber:

Very cool.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, it's, it's, it's going to be a really good time.

Barrett Gruber:

Go check it out.

Barrett Gruber:

Coastal Comic Con.com for tickets so that you can get that set up.

Barrett Gruber:

We're going to have Brock on probably here in the next few weeks to, to go ahead and kick that off for the podcast and, and start doing that marketing and everything so that, so that, that started.

Barrett Gruber:

And, and, and, and, and we get as many people to, to attend this Coastal comic.

Barrett Gruber:

Coastal ComicCon.

Zach King:

He's gonna yell at me.

Zach King:

He is gonna yell at me.

Barrett Gruber:

Donald Brock is a great guy, and, and, and I always look forward to seeing his name pop up on my phone.

Barrett Gruber:

Always.

Zach King:

What?

Barrett Gruber:

No way.

Zach King:

Who else.

Zach King:

Who else do you like on the phone?

Barrett Gruber:

Is a very short list.

Barrett Gruber:

So that's, that's, that's the big announcement.

Barrett Gruber:

3.

Barrett Gruber:

Three people are going to get announced for Coastal Comic Con this week.

Barrett Gruber:

That's exciting.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm looking forward to that.

Barrett Gruber:

You know, this:

Barrett Gruber:

Happy New Year.

Barrett Gruber:

I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and, and, and that their new year.

Barrett Gruber:

We're only 18 and a half hours into it here on the east coast, but, you know, looking.

Barrett Gruber:

Hope everyone is looking forward to the things that are come up this year.

Barrett Gruber:

I know that there are a lot of things that we're not looking forward to, but we can't do anything about it.

Barrett Gruber:

One of those being, of course, Donald Trump to be inaugurated on January 20th, which is, you know, 19 days away.

Zach King:

Just got to have that popcorn now, Barrett.

Zach King:

Nothing we can do?

Barrett Gruber:

No, absolutely.

Barrett Gruber:

And ultimately, I think that that's.

Barrett Gruber:

That's pretty much.

Barrett Gruber:

We're just going to commentate on it because that's all we can do is Just is just.

Zach King:

Who didn't see this coming?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Bingo card is being filled out one by one instantly.

Zach King:

It's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's insane.

Barrett Gruber:

Some of the things.

Barrett Gruber:

So I wanted.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk came out last week before New Year's, before Christmas, I think.

Zach King:

President elect, Vice president.

Zach King:

Vice Viceroy to the President.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, Viceroy to the President.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk wants high tech skilled immigrants and wants to expand on the H1B immigration status, I guess the ability to bring in high tech skilled immigrants here in the United States, which is.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

What was that?

Zach King:

Read that whole Twitter post.

Zach King:

If you have it, they can fuck their faces.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I don't have it in front of me, but that's pretty much what Elon Musk said to.

Zach King:

Oh, it was a verbatim fuck your face.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, which.

Barrett Gruber:

Which was.

Barrett Gruber:

That was a direct reference to a movie, wasn't it?

Barrett Gruber:

Well, anyway, so I told those.

Zach King:

I hate to also do that, but.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk wants high tech skilled immigrants.

Barrett Gruber:

But Trump ran a campaign of getting rid of immigrants here in the United States.

Barrett Gruber:

And there are a number of.

Barrett Gruber:

I see it on TikTok and other social media posts.

Barrett Gruber:

There are people that feel as though Donald Trump has turned their back on them.

Barrett Gruber:

Which I'm just going to say this for those people that feel like Donald Trump turned their back on them.

Barrett Gruber:

Welcome to the club, you know?

Zach King:

Well, and they're not talking about like Mexican border because those are the immigrants.

Barrett Gruber:

Right.

Zach King:

That everybody wants.

Zach King:

Everybody wants to stop.

Zach King:

Right.

Zach King:

What are you going to do?

Zach King:

Pull them over the wall like, you know.

Zach King:

C.

Zach King:

Yeah, exactly.

Barrett Gruber:

Exactly.

Barrett Gruber:

You can go to DeVry University or University of Phoenix and get your computer science degree and then be welcomed into the United States.

Barrett Gruber:

See, that's the thing.

Barrett Gruber:

Those are the.

Barrett Gruber:

Those are the jobs that, you know, like I have.

Zach King:

You write JavaScript.

Zach King:

C.

Barrett Gruber:

C, C.

Barrett Gruber:

The direction you're leading me down, Zach, is.

Barrett Gruber:

Is full of jokes.

Zach King:

That's funny because these don't know.

Zach King:

C.

Zach King:

Yeah, but these are jokes that.

Barrett Gruber:

Only end in racial.

Barrett Gruber:

Whatever.

Barrett Gruber:

Punchlines.

Zach King:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Zach King:

Well, I was trying to find his fuck your face tweet, but he tweets way too much.

Barrett Gruber:

Well, I don't know if you saw the post I put on Tick tock yesterday or the day before.

Barrett Gruber:

I literally had to block Elon Musk's four Twitter accounts 48 times.

Barrett Gruber:

12 times each.

Barrett Gruber:

Over the past.

Barrett Gruber:

Over the past.

Barrett Gruber:

It wasn't even all:

Barrett Gruber:

It was like since the.

Barrett Gruber:

Since the purchase of Twitter, 40, 48 times I had to block and because it would just get unblocked all by itself.

Zach King:

You know, I.

Zach King:

I do think it's funny that you will still see fact corrections from people on Elon Musk's tweets.

Zach King:

There was one the other day.

Zach King:

Maybe he gets rid of him eventually.

Zach King:

But it showed up and I was like, right on.

Zach King:

If he.

Zach King:

If he.

Zach King:

At least if he established his Twitter kingdom, it also counts for him as well, right?

Zach King:

We're all paying taxes.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, well, we are all paying taxes.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk does not pay taxes.

Zach King:

Need to pay taxes.

Barrett Gruber:

Let's.

Barrett Gruber:

Let's be honest.

Barrett Gruber:

He does not.

Zach King:

I just sell some emeralds for my father's mine.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk's wealth value on paper has gone up more than double since Donald Trump was elected.

Barrett Gruber:

Back on November 5th, Elon Musk went from about $204 billion in value to.

Barrett Gruber:

They.

Barrett Gruber:

The experts, financial experts, whatnot, have claimed that he will be worth $600 billion by the time Trump hits his hundred days in office.

Zach King:

$600 billion.

Barrett Gruber:

That is because in all likelihood, they will expand on a number of the government contracts and subsidies that between Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink, those three companies alone will likely receive very large expansions on their government contracts.

Zach King:

And you know what?

Zach King:

I was going to make a joke, but I bet you within this four years he will.

Zach King:

Elon Musk will want to redo the beast, that Cadillac the President rides in and make it like a Tesla truck, Tesla cybertruck limousine thing.

Zach King:

It's already bulletproof, Barrett.

Zach King:

Oh, my God.

Zach King:

I bet that's gonna happen, dude.

Barrett Gruber:

You just.

Barrett Gruber:

You just extend the.

Barrett Gruber:

The size of the beast.

Zach King:

He has to have like a.

Zach King:

Oh, shit handle to get in, like, a little lift on it.

Zach King:

He's like, yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

I suspect over the course of the next four years, Donald Trump will go from the age of 78 to 82.

Barrett Gruber:

I suspect that at some point, Donald Trump will have to have some sort of.

Barrett Gruber:

Something's got to pop out from underneath the limo to allow him to step up into it because it's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's larger than your average limousine.

Zach King:

I mean, will publicly his pants more than one time.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, 100%.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, they're gonna have to.

Barrett Gruber:

They're gonna have to do something to the inside of that interior just to.

Barrett Gruber:

Just to make sure that nothing.

Zach King:

Get him some.

Zach King:

Muffled sound suppressed Depends if you're doing it.

Zach King:

No one can know.

Zach King:

We can't help the smell.

Barrett Gruber:

They're saying he embarrassed himself pretty good at that unveiling of Notre Dame.

Barrett Gruber:

Notre Dame.

Barrett Gruber:

Sorry, Notre Dame.

Barrett Gruber:

In.

Barrett Gruber:

In Paris.

Barrett Gruber:

He apparently stunk.

Barrett Gruber:

He stunk up the vicinity.

Barrett Gruber:

His.

Barrett Gruber:

His vicinity.

Barrett Gruber:

Pretty bad.

Zach King:

I got the bubble guts.

Zach King:

I'm sorry.

Zach King:

Art just moves me.

Barrett Gruber:

The video of him sitting at.

Barrett Gruber:

In Notre Dame and literally no one is sitting around him, but the reactions from people all around him are.

Barrett Gruber:

Are basically just pure disgust.

Zach King:

You see like macaron in the background.

Zach King:

Like.

Barrett Gruber:

A gag take.

Barrett Gruber:

Would have been fantastic.

Barrett Gruber:

That would have been the money shot.

Zach King:

What is it?

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk and Donald Trump have also grown considerably closer.

Barrett Gruber:

While also Donald Trump has expressed that he is frustrated with the amount that Elon Musk is around.

Barrett Gruber:

But recently Donald Trump boasted about the fact that Elon Musk is now paying $2,000 a night for a cottage on the Mar A Lago estate.

Barrett Gruber:

That.

Barrett Gruber:

That.

Zach King:

Gosh, that's like two cents every day for six hundred dollar billionaire feature.

Zach King:

Six hundred billion dollar.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Elon Musk now lives at Mar A Lago.

Barrett Gruber:

And there was at one point.

Zach King:

Weird.

Zach King:

It.

Barrett Gruber:

Doesn't it feel weird?

Barrett Gruber:

Like Elon Musk could live anywhere.

Barrett Gruber:

Why would you live.

Barrett Gruber:

First of all, why look at a map of where Mar a Lago is in relation to the.

Zach King:

It's like West Palm beach area, right?

Barrett Gruber:

It's West Palm beach, but it's also, it's.

Barrett Gruber:

It's directly on the.

Barrett Gruber:

The eastern takeoff from the airport, the international airport.

Barrett Gruber:

So literally, you're at Mar A Lago.

Barrett Gruber:

You've got jets taking off all the time.

Zach King:

This is, this is, you know, it might be a quick A to B to the new island.

Zach King:

Musk Island.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Epstein's old island.

Zach King:

Musk.

Zach King:

Musk.

Zach King:

Muskines Island.

Zach King:

Must.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, it's.

Barrett Gruber:

And.

Barrett Gruber:

And then all of the infighting between the traditional magazines versus the tech boy billionaire magazine has been popcorn worthy.

Barrett Gruber:

I mean, it is.

Barrett Gruber:

Ultimately, I'm here for it.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm enjoying it.

Zach King:

Jack Daugherty got out of there just in time.

Zach King:

He's like, Twitter's a fire.

Zach King:

I am weird.

Zach King:

I don't want people to know I'm weird.

Zach King:

I'm gonna go be weird on a mountain in Tibet.

Zach King:

Whatever, Whatever.

Zach King:

Jack.

Zach King:

Daughter.

Zach King:

He does or whatever.

Zach King:

You know what I'm talking about, right?

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Beard.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, no, I know.

Barrett Gruber:

He's now created Blue sky, which is basically the.

Zach King:

Oh, he's behind Blue Sky.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah, he's.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, that's why we had 300 characters to blue Sky.

Zach King:

Oh, wow.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

He's like, I liked it when people can kind of shut the fuck up at you.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Keep it.

Zach King:

Keep it.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

We don't need you.

Barrett Gruber:

We don't need you expressing yourself completely.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

This, the 300 200.

Barrett Gruber:

Whatever characters it gives you, it gives you the ability to kind of control it.

Zach King:

Yeah, we want to know what you're thinking, but, like, not that deep, right?

Barrett Gruber:

Speaking of, the All About Nothing podcast is on Blue sky as well.

Barrett Gruber:

I'll, I'll add it to the show notes, but we're on.

Zach King:

I didn't get Blue sky while I was out on the crab boat for the last two weeks.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, you do look like you've been fishing a lot recently.

Zach King:

Let me tell you.

Zach King:

There's some crabs.

Zach King:

They're feisty, especially when your captain is hammered and the boats are rocking that up, boys.

Zach King:

I want my pots all counted for.

Barrett Gruber:

Deadliest Catch is coming back for, like, its 18 or 19th season, and every.

Zach King:

Time, not as my show gets picked up.

Zach King:

It's called Deadliest Fetch, and it's which dog can bring you back a landmine?

Barrett Gruber:

I'm both disappointed and excited at the same time.

Zach King:

Sometimes we mess with them and do those stick grenades from World War II so it looks like a stick.

Zach King:

They never make it back.

Zach King:

I'm a season one spoiler alert.

Zach King:

If they do, then you lose.

Zach King:

I've never laughed harder than seeing a man run from a dog with a grenade in its mouth.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, Yeah, I, I, I would imagine that that's pretty, that's, that's pretty entertaining.

Zach King:

Yeah, I had to do it.

Zach King:

Deadliest Fetch coming to you, Discovery Channel.

Barrett Gruber:

Well, every time.

Barrett Gruber:

Every time.

Barrett Gruber:

And we'll, we'll start wrap this up.

Barrett Gruber:

This is gonna be a short episode because we just want to put something out there.

Barrett Gruber:

But I, I, I, I look forward to Deadliest Catch coming back.

Barrett Gruber:

But every time I watch Deadliest Catch, I'm like, I could do that.

Barrett Gruber:

I could be a deckhand on Deadliest Catch.

Barrett Gruber:

I wouldn't whine about how cold it is or how wet I am or.

Zach King:

Yeah, just filming a job that blows.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Marine construction.

Zach King:

That job blew.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

I'd rather be pulling crab pots, like, the only.

Zach King:

The only.

Zach King:

And I'm not scared of sharks and Icelandic temperature water.

Zach King:

But drowning wouldn't be fun.

Zach King:

That's the scary part.

Zach King:

That kind of shit is terrifying.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't want a ship to go over.

Zach King:

Yeah, but the crab potting part of it.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Okay.

Zach King:

Like, they had a guy jump in, like, with no shirt on to, like, hook a pot back up.

Zach King:

And the captain's like, literally, that's like one of the deadliest things to do.

Zach King:

Like, don't do that.

Barrett Gruber:

And they pulled him back in.

Barrett Gruber:

You know, he lived.

Zach King:

Go in there and get beside the stove.

Barrett Gruber:

Sig Sig knocked his son in law into the, into the ocean this past season.

Barrett Gruber:

Like Sig on the Northwestern dropped his son into the water and it's like, you know, he got out, he was fine.

Zach King:

It's an easier way to make a quick, like 40K.

Barrett Gruber:

He's, he's completely shriveled from the waist down.

Barrett Gruber:

From now on, nothing works.

Barrett Gruber:

But, you know, who needs more grandkids?

Zach King:

As Larry the cable guy said, he now pooped his wiener.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm just kidding, Sig.

Barrett Gruber:

If you watch this show, I'd really like for you to be on.

Zach King:

Just put a cigarette out.

Zach King:

And he's like, motherfucker, in a week we're going to both be on a crab boat just being told what to do.

Zach King:

That's right.

Barrett Gruber:

This is the new economy.

Zach King:

What happened?

Zach King:

Barrett and Zach, we love the podcast.

Zach King:

Fortunately, the only job we could get when Trump took over was this, because we don't do C and Java.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, well, I do, but Barrett wouldn't.

Zach King:

Teach me C and Java.

Zach King:

And then he got real lippy about it.

Barrett Gruber:

He kept boasting, I punched him.

Barrett Gruber:

Now his brain don't work.

Zach King:

Here we are picking up crab pots.

Zach King:

You know what?

Zach King:

Harder than we both thought.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, probably.

Barrett Gruber:

So I say I can do it.

Barrett Gruber:

I probably can't.

Zach King:

No, no.

Barrett Gruber:

I think the last thing, last thing I was going to talk about because South Carolina and Georgia Tech both lost their bowl games.

Zach King:

What the fuck was that?

Barrett Gruber:

Georgia Tech lost because a better team won.

Barrett Gruber:

South Carolina lost because.

Zach King:

Why did we lose?

Zach King:

Well, calling in substitutions like they did, highly illegal.

Zach King:

And referees deciding not to call that.

Barrett Gruber:

So help me out with that because I saw a bunch of things saying that what Illinois did was legal, but it's not something that most teams do because it's not really.

Barrett Gruber:

It's not part of the gameplay.

Barrett Gruber:

It's not part of chess.

Zach King:

Like, you're not supposed to do it technically.

Zach King:

I think if they didn't have their man and in time and it's a.

Zach King:

Clocks down to five seconds.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Hike the ball.

Zach King:

Then they have too many men on the field, like, and they're done for.

Zach King:

Right.

Barrett Gruber:

But you can't hike the ball if the ref is standing on it.

Zach King:

Right.

Barrett Gruber:

So how, how does that work with.

Barrett Gruber:

I mean, and maybe this is, maybe we're going to have to have Zach.

Zach King:

On, but I know he's pissed about it.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, I saw, I saw his posts.

Zach King:

Plus plus, at the end of the day, you had, you had guys in the second half of the game stop, like, literally quit.

Zach King:

Like, like, I'm I'm only playing the first half.

Zach King:

You're like, okay.

Zach King:

But then I think that South Carolina thought they should win this.

Zach King:

The whole weeks after the calypso game of just the hyping up of South Carolina.

Zach King:

Yeah, it got to him and they were like, we should dog walk them easily.

Zach King:

If you, if you played like you, you could lose the game.

Zach King:

You would have, right?

Zach King:

It was 17 to 21.

Zach King:

If you could have done anything else, like, you, you could have.

Zach King:

And I think there were dudes out there like Demetrius Knight that were playing like lights out, trying to do it.

Zach King:

Not getting the offense rolling blew my mind.

Zach King:

I mean, dude, give Illinois credit.

Zach King:

They're not a dog shit team.

Zach King:

They were there for a reason, too.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Rocket Sanders, though, is, is he looking just, Is it the NFL draft?

Barrett Gruber:

He's looking, he's looking to hit the combine.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

He didn't play at all.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

No.

Barrett Gruber:

And when he announced that he wasn't.

Zach King:

Playing, both of them announced like a week or two before.

Barrett Gruber:

A week or two.

Barrett Gruber:

Okay.

Barrett Gruber:

So we knew.

Barrett Gruber:

Okay.

Zach King:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Another one was, the other one was Kyle Kennard, who you're familiar with, but he, he was the number one defensive player in the country.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

This year.

Barrett Gruber:

I don't blame him.

Zach King:

No.

Zach King:

And at the end of the day, I didn't get torn up about it.

Zach King:

It's a bowl game that doesn't count for anything.

Zach King:

Like, it would have been nice to get that 10 win, but it's the same mentality those players took.

Zach King:

It's just a bowl game.

Zach King:

But that's not the narrative we were fed the entire couple weeks.

Zach King:

Month.

Barrett Gruber:

Right.

Zach King:

We wouldn't win that.

Zach King:

10 wins all.

Zach King:

None of us are opting out.

Zach King:

Well, half your asses are opting out at halftime.

Zach King:

Like, I saw a lot of quit and that's not what you normally.

Barrett Gruber:

No.

Barrett Gruber:

And I think again, it boils down to.

Barrett Gruber:

This was a out of season bowl game.

Barrett Gruber:

There's a lot of players.

Barrett Gruber:

The bowl game.

Barrett Gruber:

The outcome of a bowl game has an effect on nothing.

Barrett Gruber:

And the likelihood of a player getting hurt at that level on an extra, you know, on the 13th game of the season is, is high.

Barrett Gruber:

I mean, you know, you have, there's, there's so much that could potentially happen that you, you, I, I don't blame them.

Barrett Gruber:

If you're, if your future is playing on Sundays and, and, and that's your future next year.

Barrett Gruber:

I, I don't blame him at all.

Zach King:

I'll say somebody from your bowl game that I love and I hope that he gets everything, gets his flowers, Haynes, King fantastic dude has a motor and never quits.

Zach King:

His jersey is dirty.

Zach King:

Every time like that dude is out there to make plays happen.

Barrett Gruber:

If, if he can, if he can get some receivers, you couple, you couple his passing accuracy and get.

Barrett Gruber:

And make that better next year.

Barrett Gruber:

But you couple that with getting some receivers that he can hit.

Barrett Gruber:

Taller, bigger receivers at Georgia Tech.

Zach King:

Yeah, let's get a Megatron out there.

Barrett Gruber:

I think, I think you have, you have the potential of a Lenora Sellers Haynes King.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm just gonna say it.

Barrett Gruber:

Heisman.

Barrett Gruber:

Heisman watch.

Zach King:

I think solely because of Haynes King and the culture that, that Georgia Tech is building, you're not going to see us come and take your players.

Barrett Gruber:

No, no.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Zach King:

No, but I think that, I think that's going to start stopping and that's.

Zach King:

Any of your key players from this year, I think they should return and I think they have a reason to return.

Zach King:

But then you have those commits, maybe some transfers.

Zach King:

I don't know what Georgia Tech is doing in the transfer portal right now, but I would love to go play for a quarterback like Haynes King.

Zach King:

Dude, I'd be like, dude's gonna go out there and throw it to me.

Zach King:

I can make a difference because he's, he's literally missing a big time player.

Zach King:

Like you're saying big time receiver.

Barrett Gruber:

Lenora Sellers and, and Haynes King will be playing on Sundays and I'm here for it.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I think it's going to be fantastic.

Zach King:

I think that Ladoris kind of needs.

Zach King:

What Haynes King needs is some top tier receivers.

Zach King:

Yeah, Yeah, I think, I think that's exactly it.

Barrett Gruber:

Well, we got another nine months before, before the season kicks off, so hopefully that the portal is going to get utilized.

Barrett Gruber:

We're going to see some recruits come in and you know, that's that, that, that's what I'll enjoy.

Barrett Gruber:

And I will after, after watching South Carolina this year, I'm back on the bandwagon.

Barrett Gruber:

I will, I will pull for South Carolina every game as long as they're not playing.

Barrett Gruber:

Georgia Tech, which isn't scheduled for another, is not on this.

Zach King:

We might find you in baseball at some point.

Barrett Gruber:

Oh, yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

That's entirely possible.

Barrett Gruber:

That's not possible.

Zach King:

I'm excited about that.

Zach King:

Paul Monary.

Zach King:

Yeah, the boys love him.

Zach King:

He's fun.

Zach King:

I think all the videos I've seen, Pulmonary looks like a fun guy.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah.

Zach King:

Here for it.

Zach King:

Even LSU fans are like, we cannot hate South Carolina.

Zach King:

Pulmonary, such a good guy.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm also excited for the:

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I think I think that's baseball.

Zach King:

Is on its way back.

Zach King:

Barrett.

Zach King:

We've got March.

Barrett Gruber:

Yeah, I'm excited for it.

Barrett Gruber:

I think.

Barrett Gruber:

I'm hoping, I'm hoping here in the next few weeks we might have some big announcements to make for, for the Columbia Fireflies too.

Barrett Gruber:

So.

Zach King:

Thing that sucks for me is I catch at least, I try to catch at least five or six games each year for college, not doing it with twins.

Zach King:

There's no getaway point like, can I just go, can I catch a game?

Zach King:

A nooner.

Barrett Gruber:

All right, that's go.

Barrett Gruber:

That's gonna, that's gonna wrap it up for episode number 236.

Barrett Gruber:

That was a Facebook posting on Marketplace.

Barrett Gruber:
