SHOW NOTES: Deuteronomy 11:10-14 sets the stage for this week’s lesson. “The land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven … the eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it.”
The importance of water in the land of Israel cannot be overstated.
There was conflict between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. Abram graciously told Lot to choose where he would take his family and livestock to live. Lot chose the well-watered, green, and lush Jordan Valley. But, God had another conversation with Abram. God’s promise is everlasting … this land is given to Abram’s descendants … forever. God says to Abram in Genesis 13:17 – “Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”
